You should contact the Social Security Office to find out what benefits are available for your individual circumstances (if any), to change records, and to verify that automatic deposits have been stopped from Social Security. Roberts Funeral Home will file Form SSA-721 which informs Social Security of a death. This should prevent you from having to order a certified copy of the death certificate for the Social Security Department and should automatically stop the monthly payment check.
