D2C Differences

Expansion getting boring for you too? Tired of Vampire Gazes, Stormshields, Wizardspikes, and Burizas? Well, then, join us in Diablo2 Classic. But be cautious...things are a bit different here. This page exists to inform you of the differences in Classic, dangers you should watch out for, and advantages you should benefit from. Sorry if I miss any changes, E-mail me my mistakes or post them in the forum.

Game play:
-Only five character classes, sorry no more Druids and Assassins
-Good bye Bloody Foothills, and all of Act 5 for that matter, just four Acts here
-No new Champion-Class Monsters (Berserker, Possessed, Fanatic, Ghostly)
-Blocking not affected by dexterity, blocking will be determined by shield and whether you wear Twitchthroe or use Holy Shield.
-Unfortunately a downside to Classic, small stash... Ahh!! I know
-No Item swapping

Skill Differences:
-Weapon speed does not affect Whirlwind (Go Lancers!)
-Concentration works fully with Blessed Hammer (Hooray Hammerdins!)
-Static field can be used forever, no restrictions in Nightmare/Hell

Item Differences:
-No unique Exceptional/Elite items (Best uniques now are SoJ's, Silks, Gull, Blinkbat)
-No Exceptional/Elite set items (Best sets are Sigons, Deaths, Irathas, Tancreds)
-No more Class Specific Items
-No more awesome magical items, no cruel prefix.
-No socket quest, only way to socket is losing 3 Perfect Skulls and an SoJ to your cube, and this only works for Rares.
-No socketed Armor
-No Runes, No Jewels (Only gems)
-No crafting, No Runewords
-All pre-1.06 Uniques and Sets do not have a level requirement. Sets do not get partial bonus' before 1.06 either.
-No rare javelins or throwing weapons

Mercenary Information:
-You can't give your buddy equipment
-You can't heal your mercenary without a well or NPC
-You can't bring your mercenary to the next act or a different difficulty
-You can't resurrect him either!
