Smoke rising from a an island in Wonsan Harbor where the Twining's 5" guns hit an ammo dump
about four miles away while patroling in the "slot." It was difficult to take out the gun emplacements
because after the North Koreans fired on our ship, they moved the guns far back in tunnels. Once,
The USS Wisconsin came into the harbor, leveled their 16" guns on the gun emplacements, and
virtually blew them off the island.
