I first found this cemetery on the map, but was unable to locate
it for a while, even while using GPS. It was suddenly visible when leaves
were on the ground.
The interesting thing about this cemetery is the lack of
information...no names or dates...crude crosses cut from
pipes...the type used for plumbing.
Twenty of these crosses are erected here,
some are suspiciously close to large stones,
suggesting these may have been used as earlier markers.

This final resting place is now between two large trees.
Note: According to information I have found here, this appears to be a slave cemetery.

This stone looks to me like it was homemade...as though someone were trying to save money.

on the headstone.

This is my favorite cemetery of all simply because of Mary Vinson.
I've always felt drawn to her without knowing why. She died a month before her 21st birthday. in 1863. Abraham Lincoln was President...while a civil war going on.
Sometimes I set up camp
only a few hundred yards from here, always taking a short walk to this
graveyard at night.
Next to Mary
is a 2 year old infant, Minnie May Locke, daughter of J. A.
Locke and S. A. Locke, born 8/14/1867, died 9/23/1869.
