Car-2
The City of Quincy offers a challenging assortment of potential incidents for
our Deputies with it's multiple high-rise buildings and tightly packed,
multiple-resident homes, 26 miles of coastline, highways, and heavy
industry. Car-2 responds to all multiple piece responses in the
city. The Deputy is responsible for the day to day operation of the Quincy
Fire Department, as well as fire fighting tactics and coordination of rescue
operations.

Engine-1
Engine 1 is a 2005 E-One Typhoon. It
carries 500 gallons of water and has a 1500 gallon per minute Hale pump.
In addition to Quincy Center, Engine-1's first alarm assignment includes Quincy
Point, South Quincy, Merrymount, parts of Wollaston, and West Quincy.
Engine-1 also responds to all second alarms
in the city.

Ladder-1
Quincy's newest peice, Ladder-1 is a 2002 Smeal. It's midmounted 100' ladder has
a pre-piped waterway with an automatic nozzle capable of discharging up to 1,200
gallons per minute. In addition to Quincy center, Ladder-1's first alarm
assignment includes Quincy Point, South Quincy, West Quincy, Merrymount, Adams
Shores, Houghs Neck, Germantown and some of Wollaston.
Ladder-1 also responds to all second alarms.

Rescue-1
Rescue-1 is a 1985 Ford/Salsbury. It
carries equipment to handle rescue emergencies from motor vehicle accidents with
entrapment to train derailments. It carries an assortment of ropes for
repelling into Quincy's famous quarries, cold water rescue suits, gas detectors,
Jaws of Life, airbags, a wide compliment of cutting apparatus such as K-12's,
chainsaws, reciprocating saws, and hydrolic cutters.
Rescue-1 responds to
all first alarm assignments in the city as well as motor vehicle accidents in
Quincy Center, Quincy Point, South Quincy, Merrymount, Adams Shores, Houghs Nek
and Germantown, as well as MVA;s on route's 93 and 3A. Rescue-1's
responsibilities also extend to medical emergencies in Quincy Center, parts of
South Quincy, Quincy Point, and Merrymount.
Due to recent budget
constraints, when firefighters must be hired overtime to man Rescue-1 it is put
out of service.
