Banana Bread
Submitted by: Lois B.
"This was my grandmothers recipe and it is really yummy! Hope you all enjoy it!"

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cups shortening
3 cups flour
2 eggs
1/4 tsp.salt
3 bananas
1/4 cup sour milk
1 cup chopped walnuts

To make Sour Milk... 1 tbls. lemon concentrate to 1/4 cup milk...

Directions

Mix all dry ingredients together. Mash bananas, then add to dry ingredients. Add nuts. Pour in greased bread pans. (I spray the pans with PAM). Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. (Makes two loaves).

When it comes out of the oven let set for approx 10 minutes, then turn over so loafs will come out. Cool on rack or counter. When cool, wrap in aluminum foil. You can refrigerate when completely cool to keep it fresh, if you don't eat it all before then. I like to take it out of the oven and put butter on it while it's still hot and eat it. YUMMY!!!!
