A hand touches their little heads
That hand is powerful and so strong
He has picked them carefully
These little ones, so innocent
They have a gift for life and love
You look into their eyes and your tears begin to fall
These little children must suffer so much
Yet their hearts are full of joy as they smile
The only tears they cry are for you.

They offer you the gift of hope
And try to ease your pain
And all the while all you can do
Is sing a sad refrain
Their little faces still can smile
And reach inside your heart
And all they ask in return
Is to hold them close to you
The smiles will fade all too soon
As you try to hide the tears
Ask for the strength that you will need
To calm and soothe their fears.

They need that special touch
Just to let them know
Someone loves them
And thinks about them
Let them feel that love
Give them hope to hold onto
Poor things.....
Need hope.

May we learn the lessons
They have been chosen to teach
May we help them achieve
The dreams within their reach
May we listen with our hearts
To their unspoken pleas
May we never stop searching
For a cure to this disease
May we remember the chosen
Who have traveled before
May we pray for the day
When there are 'The Chosen' no more.
