Park Presidio Freeway
Length: 1 mile
Routing in SF: From Golden Gate Bridge Freeway (US 101) in north Presidio
to Lake Street
Construction: Unknown
Route Numbering: CA 1 (?-), I-280 (1953-1959?, unconfirmed arbitrary
designation), I-480 (1959-1968)
The Park Presidio Freeway is a mere shadow of its planned self, currently extending only from the "near-trumpet" with US 101 (Golden Gate Bridge Freeway) in the north Presidio, to Lake Street. However, Park Presidio Boulevard itself, the planned routing for the freeway, may have been designed to contain a haphazard limited access route.
Like Sunset Boulevard, which has two interchanges, the street is divided, and there are grass outcroppings to the left and right of the Boulevard. 12th and 14th Avenues function essentially as "jughandle" roads at the moment, but may have been planned as C/D streets for exits.
