on Blues Dancing ( a note to the characters)

(based on the novel Blues Dancing by Diane McKinney-Whetstone)

WARNING: Strong Adult Language

damn Johnson

for opening her tight

wet / center / like he'd discovered

a velvet pouch filled with rare precious stones

and for melting inside her / designating

himself as her Savior

gotdamn him for injecting that searing

mind-numbing dragon in her vein / forever

hooking her in mindless dependency

sweet fine-ass motherfucker / gotdamn him

for leaving her that open

and damn Rowe

for gaining her trust against

a pure & dangerous love / one

so absolute / she needed

a buffer to demarcate the edge

of dreams & reality

gotdamn him for manipulating her

into an eternal victim / fucking her vulnerable

so she'd stay cowering beneath

his tainted wings / indebted

to him for gathering her scattered pieces

pervert—didn't that shit feel like incest

and Verdie, damn your ass too

for letting Johnson dissolve inside

your rich /southern body / begging

him to soften your existence with his poor man's misery

i hate you for being weak / for craving his weakness

and fuck you for letting Rowe slither

inside your defenseless / wet pussy

offering it up in gratitude / then years later

as a pacifier

fuck / you / for / giving / up / your / POWER

fuck / you / for / failing / to / recognize

you / have / POWER

and to you Diane

damn you for thrusting Verdie's vacillating ass

o

w

n my throat / tasting too much

like me
