Roman Brady...what WILL Salem do without you!!!

We long time viewers remember the original Roman, Wayne Northrup, as he pursued Doc, while on assignment to protect her. They married, and Marlena became a step-mom to Roman's daughter Carrie (by his previous marriage to Anna) Later, Roman was delighted to become the proud father of twins..Eric & Samantha

After being kidnapped by Stefano, Roman escaped, returning to Salem with a new face..reuniting & remarrying his beloved "Doc"...

Many adventures, separations & reunions later, everyone was taken aback...

when Stefano brought a very ill Chris Kosticzek....er, the real Roman Brady (now played by Josh Taylor) home, (thus turning Drake H. who had been playing Roman into John Black...uhh, scorecard, please!lol)
Without Eric around for support, the childhood trauma of the transition of "who's their daddy" seems to still affect a grown-up Sami.

Since Roman was still alive, Marlena realized she & John were not really married, & tho she remained with Roman,she knew she really loved John. When John decided to leave town, Marlena went out to his plane to say good-bye, ending up having an affair resulting in her becoming pregnant. She & Roman eventually divorced.

Roman returned to the Cop Shop to work with brother Bo, and best friend, Abe Carver.

Roman was always there for Marlena, especially when it concerned Eric or Sami.

Surprising to him, Roman at last found love again, and even more surprisingly, learned he and his love, Kate, were the parents of the now grown twins, Rex & Cassie...

Happiness over this news was short lived, when daughter Cassie was found brutally murdered while on her way to tell Roman that she knew who the Salem Stalker was & Roman was forced to arrest his beloved Kate.

Minutes after eulogizing his mother at her funeral, he learned he was to be the next victim...
