Summary: Caroline pays Celeste one more visit…John and Marlena spend some time away…Bonnie puts her latest scheme into motion…Cassie is found murdered at Salem Place, with Kate caught red-handed, so it seems.

At the Java Café…

Celeste is sitting alone doing a tarot reading as she has flashbacks of her vision and she turns over the death card. She looks up and Caroline is there with her (dressed in white). Caroline tells her that it has happened again and that Cassie is dead, and how it happened. She warns her that it won’t be the last and that Marlena is next. Celeste wants to warn her, but Caroline says it won’t do any good…Marlena will never believe that John is going to kill her. Celeste asks if John is the serial killer, but Caroline says that “Frankie” (more than anyone) should know the rules of the afterlife. She talks about how John was under Stefano’s control and his mercenary. Celeste tells her that she has tried to warn people, but they won’t believe her. Caroline encourages her to not give up, that she has an important role in catching the killer…that through psychic abilities, the killings will be stopped. But be careful, or she could end up as a victim. (I have been reading that an attempt is made on Celeste’s life). Celeste says that the evil is far worse than she thought…and if it is embodied within John Black…God help us all!

At the Lockhart Home…
Bonnie is ready to kick her latest scheme into motion…making her move on Mickey Horton. Mimi is appalled but Bonnie swears she is going to use more than her good looks to seduce him. As she rushes off to the kitchen, Mimi reminds her that he is the owner of Tuscany and that Bonnie’s culinary skills are not THAT impressive. She returns with cooked TV dinners and begins dumping the food into her Tupperware and visiting Mickey, telling him it is home made. Bonnie wants a lift over there, but Mimi refuses to help her. She says that Mickey Horton’s “engine is in desperate need of an overhaul…and I know just how to adjust his throttle” (ROFLMAO!) as Mimi cringes. Mimi asks why she is so desperate as she scoffs at her plans. Bonnie explains that it is a win/win situation and that they will all profit, as she wants him as an investor in her country and western bar, and breaks out into song. Mimi makes fun of her but her mom calls her cynical. Disgusted, Mimi goes to leave. After she is gone, Bonnie admires herself in the mirrior (in her black halter with a big red rose on it), saying the old fool will never even know what hit him. Later, we see Bonnie chasing Mimi through Salem Place, still begging for a ride. (Come on Bonnie, you have walked this far…hoof it…the exercise won’t hurt you). They see Celeste sitting alone crying and go over there. She tells them about Cassie as Mimi rushes off to find Rex. Celeste tells Bonnie about Caroline’s warnings, and that she fears that Marlena is next on the hit list…and that John is the one that is going to kill her.

John and Marlena…
are at Green Mountain Lodge (I think) as he carries her through the door. They talk about his almost losing her and how much he loves her. She is a bit uneasy about being gone and no one knowing where they are. She is worried about the twins, but he tries to get her to rest. She is especially worried about Cassie but John says that her fate is already sealed. He goes on to explain that Tony still sees them as his and will treat them as DiMeras. He talks about how all of them have been used by Stefano…him, her, Cassie, Rex, Tony, Kate, Roman. Marlena is sure that Roman will never abandon the twins and that they could have wonderful lives as Bradys. Later, they are in bed (in their robes…apparently after sex) as John talks about how much he loves her. She tries to talk about the attempt on her life, but John doesn’t want to talk about it, but he swears to protect her with his life. He suggests a shower together and then a walk, as he has a surprise for her in the woods. As she goes to ready the water, he pulls out a huge knife. Later they are on their walk and find a log to sit on. As Marlena shivers from the cold, he pulls out a thermos of hot cider. They talk about the twins’ true parentage and how both are shocked that Sami knew all along. Marlena is worried about Roman and John asks if she still loves Roman, shocking Marlena. She denies it, saying that John has no reason to be jealous. She says that in a way, she will always love Roman, they share a past, but not the way she loves him (John) as he just stares at her. She swears that she would never leave him for another man, Roman or anyone else, NEVER, EVER (she is emphatic about this). John pulls out the knife (startling her) saying “It’s you and me Doc…til death do us part”. She asks what he is doing as he reaches behind her and cuts off some flower (don’t ask me what he called it – something rare that only blooms that time of year). He tells her the story behind it, assuring her of their everlasting love. She starts crying apologizing for being so jumpy. He apologizes for startling her, swearing he would NEVER harm her. He suggests that they make a wish and sticks the knife into the log. As they kiss, the camera flashes to the log, which is bleeding. John then gets the call about Cassie. When he tells Marlena, she falls apart and he holds her as she sobs uncontrollably for Cassie. Then he tells her Kate was responsible, shocking her even more, as he continues to hold her.

At Salem Place…
There is a replay of the kids whacking the piñata and Cassie falling out (as if we needed to see that again). Rex rushes up calling her name and sees Kate standing there, bloody knife in hand. He asks how could you do this…YOU her mother? He cradles Cassie and cries as Roman, Kate, Shawn, Sami and Lucas look on…all in shock. Lucas tries to go to Kate, but Sami stops him. Roman is in shock and speechless, just staring at Kate in disbelief. He has Shawn call the paramedics and Bo and Hope (but he can’t reach them). Roman walks over to Kate, but when he says her name, she jumps (as if she was in a trance) and holds the knife on him. He tells her to drop the knife and she eventually does, then breaks down. Sami is sure that Kate is the killer and tries to convince Lucas of that. Shawn also calls Philip, telling him to get there quickly. Kate begins to cry to Roman, swearing she didn’t do it and falls to the sidewalk on her knees. As she is questioned, a paramedic tells Rex that Cassie was dead before she was placed in the piñata, but they will know more after the autopsy. Philip rushes up (he was around the corner) as Shawn breaks the news about Cassie and that his mother may be responsible. In the mall, Sami starts telling people that Kate is the serial killer getting them all worked up. Roman tells Kate about Cassie leaving him a message and being on her way to tell him who the killer is as Kate swears she didn’t do it and begs him to believe her. Rex finds Cassie’s phone and realizes that she was trying to reach him. He wonders how much she knew. Shawn goes on to inform Philip that they just found out about Rex and Cassie being his siblings, shocking him. Lucas walks up, giving more details and how their mother was found. Both are sure she couldn’t have done it as Kate continues to plead with Roman. He orders Tek over to get DNA samples of Kate. A cop tells Roman that there is a problem as he rushes over to find Sami (now with a megaphone) sounding like a preacher before the throng, telling them that Kate was a hooker and a liar and is the Salem Serial Killer. He yells “SAMANTHA” at her and takes away the megaphone and utters his catch phrase “What da hell are you doing?” (LOL) As Tek is taking DNA samples of Kate, Rex just glares at her. Roman chews Sami out and warns her not to leave, she may be questioned as well. Roman tries to talk to Rex, but he isn’t interested, telling him that he despises him, as well as his murdering mother. Roman tells him to blame the DiMeras…NOT him and Kate. Mimi rushes up to comfort Rex, telling him that she is so sorry. Rex thinks to himself that it is Kate and Roman that will be sorry. As Tek finishes with Kate, Roman watches them take her away. Both he and Rex watch sadly as they zip up Cassie’s body bag…and the previews roll.

On the next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Shawn ask Philip why is everyone talking about Jan. Philip says he didn’t say a word about her…

Rex tells John and Marlena (who are now at Salem Place it seems) he doesn’t want them in his life, they will be dead too soon…John asks what he means and Rex says that this killer will never stop…

Roman tells Kate that Cassie was on her way to name the killer. Kate cries “How could you think that I would hurt my own child?”…

Lucas asks Sami “Would you frame my mother for murder?” Sami replies “You bet your sweet ass I would!”…

And the credits roll…

Summary: Evidence is collected as words are exchanged by family and friends. Someone is arrested for Cassie's murder. Kudos to Eric Winter (?) (Rex) for his performance as a grieving brother tomorrow. .

SALEM PLACE
Philip and Shawn watch as the police study the crime scene where Cassie dropped from the pinata. Philip asks why he wasn't told that Rex and Cassie were his half brother and sister and Shawn apologizes, saying they just found out. They see Mimi and Rex standing next to the scene. He can't believe Rex is his half brother.

Mimi feels bad for Rex as his mother is now a suspect. He calls Kate a mass of poor quality DNA (ouch..don't expect a Christmas gift Kate) and doesn't care about her. She tells him she overheard Roman saying Cassie figured out who the killer was and was on her way to tell him. She asks with his twin thing with Cassie if he might know who the killer is. Rex is devastated and doesn't know anything.

John and Marlena rush up (wow, that was fast from the woods). He's going to see if Tek needs help collecting evidence. He figures the evidence against Kate must be circumstantial and can't believe she's responsible. Marlena tells him Rex is devastated and she can't believe he did it. She may not be their biological mother, but she gave birth to them and loves them. Looking at John, she tells him she can't believe anyone she loves is capable of killing anyone. Sami and Lucas join them. Sami tells her mother she's sorry their romantic getaway was cut short (yeah, I'll bet). Marlena learns Sami and Lucas were told to stick around and she asks as witnesses or suspects after hearing they were first on the scene. Lucas wonders why Sami isn't home fixing that family dinner and she tells them she was there to get a pie (as Shawn pointed out yesterday, she was going the wrong way for that ;-) Lucas brings up how she was trying to stir up a lynch mob against his mom. John knew about that too (pretty detailed info John got on the phone). Marlena says she can't take this anymore and starts crying. and Sami can't understand why. Cassie wasn't even her real daughter, but she loved her like her own, waa waa waa. John mentions how her mother almost died and Marlena reminds Sami that Cassie was her half sister, doesn't she even care?

Roman calls John on his cell and asks him to bring in Sami and Lucas. Lucas pulls out his cell and John asks if he's going to call a lawyer. No, he's suppose to pick Will up from his football game and going to see if Will's friend's parents can pick him up (ahh..nice touch to remember the small detail on that one!)

Rex overhears Tek telling John they're done there and Rex says he's not taking his sister anywhere. He goes to punch John and the two struggle as Shawn and Tek pull them apart. Little snide remarks are made by Shawn and Sami as John and Marlena talk to Rex. He explains how Cassie hated being locked up and needles. He can't stand the thought of her being put in a drawer and then an autopsy. He and Marlena are both in tears as she tells him she lost a twin too and knows how he feels. That's not Cassie over there and when he replies about the "better place", Sami mutters, Hell. Mimi tells them how they have proof Cassie was innocent and hands Rex's palm pilot to them. John reads Cassie's message out loud: " Rex. I know who the killer is. I know how they planted Maggie Horton's blood on your sweatshirt to frame you for the murders. I love you Rex and I know that you're completely innocent. I have to make sure that this killer is exposed and stopped, even if exposing this killer's identity will ruin so many lives, but I don't have a choice. For once I know I am doing the right thing and protecting you is the most important thing to me. Love Cassie, your sister". John gives the palm pilot to Tek to look into, maybe they'll get a clue. Shawn figures Rex sent it to himself. Lucas and Philip chat, not believing this. They thought their family was screwed up enough before (LOL). Tony arrives, heard there was another murder. He asks who and Rex, in tears, tells him it was Cassie, his sister..and asked how this could have happened. Tony asks why he wasn't called and is told he's not next of kin (legally he still is, isn't he?). John tells him Cassie was on her way to the police to tell who the killer was when it happened. Tony's first question was if she made it there. John picks up on that and asks why Tony wasn't more concerned about what happened to Cassie and not if she squealed yet. Tony figures he was a Dimera and should have stopped this. If he had been home, Cassie could have come to him. John figures Cassie lived in Tony's house and probably that's where she got her evidence. Rex and Cassie pretended to be Tony's and took his money and love and lived in his home. What Dimera would let that happen and get away with it? Tony tries to get Rex to come with him, but he doesn't want to leave Cassie. Tony tells him that Cassie can't hurt any more and they need answers. John rounds up his suspects and Marlena wants to stay with Rex. He doesn't want her to. She's not his mother and he doesn't want a shrink. Not liking that talk, John tells him the DiMera's are responsible for everything that's happened to him. He should be happy to be a Brady. He grabs Sami's arm and knows she's not squeaky clean, LOL! He'll be a Dimera the rest of his life. He tells Marlena she'll be dead soon. The killer tried to poison her once and won't give up until they succeed. (how was the killer to know WHO would eat the stupid dip, huh?).

Later we see Tony sadly kissing his fingers and touching Cassie's bagged body before walking away. Tony asks Mimi for a moment alone with Rex. He asks if Cassie told him anything and the one good thing that happened that day was Rex's conscious decision to be a Dimera and they will get revenge. Rex damns Shawn for all his accusations and promises someone will pay for him being falsely imprisoned where he didn't have time to figure out who the killer was before Cassie. Mimi walks up with three tall teas in time to hear that.

Philip was going to return to the base, but will stick around for his mom. Shawn knows Cassie was on their side and that's why they were murdered. Philip comments how Shawn has the biggest heart and Belle always said that it would always get him in trouble. Shawn asks why everyone's talking about Jan, but Philip tells him he didn't. Philip asks if Shawn isn't worried that Jan will run into Belle, but Shawn knows Europe is a big place (not for Salemites). As long as HE doesn't run into Jan again, he's okay. Someone is taking pictures of him and Philip talking (must be Jan). Yup...she puts the camera in her purse and sneaks by Mimi, Rex and Tony. Tony leaves to check about Cassie and Mimi wants to help Rex. He's angry how she spilled the beans on their parents. She feels guilty about being mean to Cassie. It was self defense to Cassie's being nasty to her, but she should have been nicer to her knowing how Cassie was an outcast. He tells Mimi she hated Cassie and Mimi denies hating anyone and in her usual Mimi manner..rattles on. Rex storms off and she goes after him. She knows Rex loved Cassie and just wants to help him. He tells her that the only one he needed was Cassie and now he's alone.

Tony calls "father". He tells him Cassie's dead and damn it, it wasn't suppose to come to this.

COP SHOP
Roman dismisses the officer with Kate. They've got the knife and sample of the blood from her hands to analyze to see if it matches Cassie's. He learns Cameron Reese is delayed in traffic, but she tells him she's not hiding anything and has no idea what happened to Cassie. He doesn't buy it that she's clueless about how she ended up at Salem Place holding a bloody knife (to use Roman's own catch phrase...whatdahell is HE doing interrogating Kate himself??) He questions what she means by that..was she drugged, blacked out. She only remembers seeing something on the ground and saw it was a knife and with so many children around, concerned one of them might find it. She no sooner picked it up and saw all the blood on it when Cassie's body fell out of the pinata and all the children were screaming. Now crying with tears pouring down her cheeks, she asks how he thinks she could hurt their child? As a man who loves her very much he believes her, but as a cop, he can't. Turning his back she insists she did not kill Abe, Maggie, Jack or his mother. He goes to call Sami and Lucas (above). They were at the scene as well. If she didn't do it, they're the next best suspects.

Lab results come in and show it was Cassie's blood on the knife and Kate's fingerprints were the only ones on the knife. He advises her not to say anymore until Cameron arrives as they're looking at murder one now. John and Marlena bring Sami and Lucas in. Roman confirms he ordered them in and sends them separately to be searched for evidence of blood,and their statements. John wants to take Marlena home to rest, but she wants to stay for Sami. John reminds her what Rex said and they tell Roman about Marlena being the next victim. John remembers Rex saying that Roman, Bo or Hope would be the next target the night before and didn't forecast his own sister, so doesn't put much weight into it. Roman figures it might be a way to throw them off too. John brings up that Marlena just happened to be the first unlucky person to taste the dip (thank you!) and Hope almost had some too (still say the men in my family would all be on the floor had that dip been around..no dainty carrot dip for THEM!) Marlena asks to see Kate and at first Roman says no, but figures Kate needs a friend and agrees. Roman wants 24/7 police protection for Marlena, but John doesn't think Marlena will go for it (yeah, look at all the good it did the other suspects, LOL!!) Roman's grateful Marlena has John, a trained fighting machine (his words, not mine)..and he says that with all affection and gratitude. John promises nothing will happen to doc.

John figures they'll find out how Stefano built the twins, block by block and why he sent them to Salem. Roman reminds him he's talking about his and Kate's daughter (as he looks through the window at Kate in his office). Sami and Lucas return and Tek gives their statements to Roman. He knows someone is lying.

Sami and Lucas chat about Will and he rages she hasn't changed like he thought she had after seeing her at home with Will and upset about her grandmother's death. He knows her parents aren't going to get back together and she's acting like a child about her parents (ain't that the truth!!). She can't accept change. He goes on about how she loved John when she thought he was her real dad, but changed her tune when her real dad came back. Defending her dad, she said he doesn't need Kate in his life. Lucas asks if she would go far enough to frame his mother for murder and she tells him "you bet your ass I would".

Kate tells Marlena she feels numb. She never got a chance to bond with her daughter. They chat about John and Roman and Kate wonders if she thinks Roman will ever forgive her. Marlena's mind wanders and Kate asks if she objects to her and Roman. She knows they've gotten closer, but Marlena explains it was a lot of grief they shared together.

Roman walks in and angry, said Kate told him she was going to Lucas' to see Will that morning, but couldn't have if he was playing football. He asks Kate about it. She tells him she remembered Will was playing football and went to watch him there instead. Tek interrupts. The last number Cassie dialed was Kate's. Kate denies getting a call from Cassie, then figures she accidentally pushed the wrong button and deleted it (yeah, right..) Tek retrieved the last words from the call and Cassie said she received Roman's dinner invitation and she was the last person she wanted to share thanksgiving dinner with. Roman officially arrests and handcuffs Kate. Lucas can't believe it and tells Roman she doesn't have it in her to hurt, much less kill anyone, especially her own flesh and blood. Roman, in front of everyone, says he believes she's innocent and if it's the last thing he ever does, he'll clear her name. She puts her handcuffed arms around his neck and tells him knowing that she can get through anything. Lucas walks out with her and show ends with a freeze frame of an angry Sami....as the previews roll...

Sami tells her mother that Grandma said she would be the next to die and by the hands of her husband. Both John and Marlena look at her in disbelief.

Brady tells Nicole that his grandfather is not going to play God with his and Chloe's life. Nicole says mission accomplished.

Bo and Hope talk about not knowing who the next victim will be as Jennifer gets a hand on her shoulder..she looks up and says, it's you...

as the credits roll...

Linda

LEXIE IS AT HOME, holding Abe’s picture when Jen arrives. She is restless, Abby is at Jo & Vern’s, and they both talk of missing their husbands. Jen still cannot believe Abby is blaming her for letting Jack go. Lexie assures her their husbands are with them, their presence is right there. As they hug, someone is watching thru the window. Suddenly the door blows open. They go outside to see what caused it. Meanwhile, Celeste has been outside at Abe’s shrine. As only one candle seems to be burning, she says she knows what she must do……and hurries down to the police station.

AT THE BRADY HOUSE Bo is playing with the computer, and Cassie’s last e-mail message. Hope says Zack is at Gran’s (looks like Alice is gonna get the baby sitting duties now that Maggie & Caroline are gone) and makes Bo stop, as she has made stew, using Caroline’s recipe. They engage is a bit of small talk, and after dinner, Bo is again at the computer, comparing time-lines, people’s whereabouts, etc. Hope knows it will be a long night….so goes to put on coffee.

NICOLE, MARTINI IN HAND, is watching a shirtless Brady doing pushups outside the window. (should be pretty cold out there, brrrr). She fantasizes that he declares wanting to make love to her, sweeps her up in his arms and off to the bed where they begin to make love. Back to reality, as she says aloud that Victor bringing back Chloe won’t stop her, as Victor walks in, hearing her, and says if you think that, you have another thing coming. He puts in a CD of Chloe singing, and they watch Brady stop his pushups, standing up, looking around. Brady rushes in, putting on his shirt, asking about the music. Vic explains it is a CD sent to him after he made a huge donation, and comments on how Chloe has come a long, long way. He leaves the room, & Nik immediately tells him that Chloe’s career is over, since Vic is bringing her home. An angry Brady claims Victor is not going to control his life, and storms out, as Nicole smiles, saying “mission accomplished”. Brady confronts Victor, just as his cell phone rings. He tells Vic not to answer, then to hang up….but Victor says it is Chloe….and doesn’t he want to talk to her.

ROMAN IS IN HIS OFFICE, telling Kate’s picture that he knows she is innocent and he will use all his energy to clear her. Marlena watches him through the window, telling John she is worried about Roman. Celeste comes in, sees John & Marlena, and murmurs to herself (I WISH these people would stop talking aloud to themselves….they are always overheard, lol) about Caroline’s warning to her. Of course Sami walks in, hearing this, and pesters Celeste to tell all. Celeste caves in, telling her of Caroline saying John will kill Marlena. Sami insists she tell John & Marlena, but Celeste refuses. Roman comes out, Sami urges him to make Celeste talk, but Celeste refuses (then why did she come there??) Finally SHE spills the beans. John blows up, as does Marlena, who takes Sami into Roman’s office, ripping into her for trying to drive a wedge between her and John.
Celeste leaves, stopping at Abe’s picture. She feels him there, and talks to the picture, then hurries back to Lexie’s. Meanwhile, Marlena is letting Sami have it (AT LAST!), telling her she knows Sami is trying to break her & John up, that she is no longer 5 years old, to grow up, get some psychiatric help. She reminds her that John raised her, adored her. Sami retaliates that John is responsible for all her problems, for her lack of self-confidence, he broke up her family, took Marlena away from her dad, and that her life is a freakin’ mess cause of John. She is on a roll now, as she yells at her mother, saying if she hadn’t been so quick to spread her legs for him (yes, that is exactly what she says)…..at that point, Marlena slaps Sami across the face, a good one. Sami looks at her mom, shocked, and runs out of the room, crying. Marlena tells Roman their daughter has lost it, and needs help. Roman goes after Sami, who quickly begins to accuse John of ALL the murders, and is really out of control. Roman shouts at her to just SHUT UP! Several times.
Back in Roman’s office, Sami is insistent about John killing everyone. Roman says John was with him at the church when Abe was killed, Sami reminds him that so was Maggie, but she witnessed the crime. Roman grudgingly admits John could have slipped out for a few moments. As he checks thru each of the deaths, he sees John was at Salem Place when Jack was killed, no info for when Maggie died, & says John was at Pub for Caroline’s death. (Hold on here, John wasn’t even at the funerals, neither was Marlena, so why would they be at the pub earlier, and not come to the funerals). He says John was with Marlena at Green Mountain Lodge when Cassie was killed, but that he could have still been in town when Cassie called Roman. (Oh, puleeze! Now that is reaching…..is Green Mountain Lodge around the corner?)

BACK AT LEXIE’S, Jen & Lexie are still outside, wondering why the door blew open. Celeste arrives, telling them to shut the door, and asking Jen if she can be alone with Lexie. Jen leaves, and someone follows her. She goes to Jack’s shrine, kneels down, and begins talking to him, commenting on how she misses him, that all the candles have gone out except for the one Abby lit, and when that goes, will he not be with them any more? Suddenly that candles glows brighter, and the other candles light up, as does Jen’s face (she sure is one beautiful lady!) She hears something, turns around and says “You!”!

Meanwhile, Lexie is telling Celeste all about her conversation with Jen, how they talked of their husbands, and felt their presence. Celeste smiles, asks her if she & Abe had a special song, then tells her to play it, and tells Lexie that if she feels Abe, she should take her hand. She hold it out, Lexie is a bit bewildered. The door blows open again. The music playing is Luther VanDross’s “If Only For One Night”. But Celeste tells her to have faith and believe, as her eyes change, going nearly white. Lexie gasps at that, and then Celeste turns into Abe (So good to see Jim Reynolds again!) who says I’m back. (Picture the scene inGhost when Whoopi Goldberg becomes Patrick Swayze…sigh) Lexie is crying to have Abe back, and they talk. She has her arms around him (these scenes are heart wrenching) as he tells he he will always be with her, that she will see him whenever she looks into Theo’s eyes, and that he only returned to say goodbye. She asks if he knows who killed him, he says yes, he saw the person. But he cannot tell her. He is so sorry for all the people in Salem, & Lexie asks if he means there will be more murders. She doesn’t want him to go, he must…..but asks her to dance with him. With her arms around his neck and head on his shoulder they dance.(these scenes brought tears, truly)

John & Marlena arrive at home. He puts his arms around her, as she looks into the mirror, suddenly seeing Sami warning her again about John killing her. She shivers, asking John to hold her, just hold her. He tells her that is the easy part, as his arms go around her, and he continues “forever & always”. And on the next episode……..

Victor tells Brady he thought Chloe coming back for a visit would make him happy

Celeste tells everyone not to break hands…..(seems to be a séance, only see Roman & Sami, but others are probably there) that only by maintaining a single energy, will the spirit world be reached.

Marlena is on her balcony, shivering, and is startled as a scarf goes around her neck..and the credits roll.

Summary: Brady sees through Victor’s plan…Sami tries to convince Roman that Marlena is in danger…Celeste holds a séance that left me humming “Unchained Melody”…Sami and Roman find Marlena and John in an unusual situation. Kudos to Tanya Boyd (Celeste) for her creepy performance.

At the Kiriakis Mansion…
Victor hands the phone to Brady to talk to Chloe. She tells him that she is coming back to Salem. Inside, Nicole is having a regular hissy fit. Brady asks his grandfather for some privacy, so Victor goes inside. Once there, he and Nicole begin to argue. Brady comes in asking for some privacy with his granddad as Victor shuffles her from the room and closes the door behind her. Brady thanks him for offering to bring Chloe home for the holidays, but doesn’t want to interrupt her career. Victor claims that he only wants to make Brady happy. But Brady is suspicious of Victor’s actions and thinks it is more about Nicole (who is listening at the door). Brady asks if he doesn’t trust him and Victor says no. They argue about Nicole, ending with Brady storming out. She strolls back in, chiding Victor. She chuckles, asking if he is all out of moves. He says “Not yet, my dear…not by a longshot.”

At Cop Shop…
Sami is still trying to convince Roman that John is the killer, begging him to save Mom. Seeing that she is at a dead end, she vows to go after John herself, but if something happens to Mom, her blood will be on Roman’s hands. She goes to leave but stops her. He then gets a call from Lexie, asking him to come over…Abe wants to talk to him. (He doesn’t say it, but has that “what da hell” look on his face.)

In the Alley behind Salem Place…
Jennifer is kneeling by Jack’s memorial, telling him how she and Abby miss him. All the candles relight as a hand is placed on her shoulder and she turns and says “Jack”. She talks about missing him and he holds out his hand (we never see his face) but there is a strong wind and he disappears.

At the Carver Place (Ghost Central)…
Abe and Lexie dance as she sobs uncontrollably and holds him tight as he tells her that he will always lover her. He assures her that she, Theo and Brandon will all be fine. She begs him not to leave, but he begins to fade. She pleads with him to tell her who killed him but he is gone and Celeste is back as she collapses on the sofa. She tells Lexie to not ask Abe what he cannot answer and that she must let him go. She begs her mom to bring him back, but Celeste says it isn’t that easy. Lexie feels that he had something to tell her and Celeste agrees for he does not seem to be at rest. Lexie needs to know what it is as she sobs. Celeste has an idea, but says that they need some help. There is a knock at the door and they realize it is Jennifer’s voice. Lexie lets her in and in her excited state, tells them about seeing Jack briefly, but he was pulled away from her. Lexie tells her about the experience with Abe as well. They all feel that someone or something is trying to silence their spirits. Celeste suggests a séance as soon as possible, but they will need at least 2 more people to assist them. A photo album falls off the table and flips to Roman’s picture. Celeste says it is a sign from Abraham. (Here is where Lexie calls Roman).

A little later, Roman arrives (with Sami hot on his heels…he was driving her home). Lexie invites them in as Sami is grumbling about not wanting to be there. Lexie tells him about the séance as she and Jen explain about how both of them saw their husbands earlier but Roman is skeptical. Celeste tells him about the photo album but Roman (doesn’t say it) but thinks they are all daffy. Sami pulls him aside and tries to convince him to go along with them, after all, what does he have to lose. If for nothing else, for Mom’s sake. Roman eventually concedes to her…IF she will back off John. Lexie doesn’t really want Sami there but Celeste says she is a believer and they do need one more person. As they all gather around the table, Lexie warns her not to screw it up. There are Scrabble pieces on the table as Celeste explains they are there in case the spirits do not speak through her verbally. They all join hands as Roman rolls his eyes. Celeste begins reciting a chant, summoning the spirits of Abe and Jack. Nothing happens as Roman whispers to Sami that she OWES him. Celeste (whose eyes have turned white) barks at them in another voice “Don’t break the circle!” and everyone’s mouths fall open. A fire blazes up in the fireplace, the doors blow open and the the TV turns on to static…and Abe’s ghost appears. We see him, but the others don’t. Celeste announces he is ready for their questions. Lexie asks if he is at peace and through Celeste (but Abe’s voice) says “I will be at peace when you are” Everyone gasps as he tells them that as on earth, he is there to protect. She asks who the killer is as Sami blurts out that it is John. Roman asks his “pardner” how John fits into the puzzle as the scrabble pieces begin to move. They spell out JOHN WILL. Sami gasps, thinking it is a list of those who will die (thinking Will is on the list). Then it spells out KILL, then MARLENA. Sami begins to become hysterical as Celeste tells them that another spirit is approaching. But Sami jumps up from the table, begging Roman to go help Mom, breaking the circle. Abe vanishes and Celeste comes back, telling them that by breaking the circle, both Abe and Jack are now gone.

Jen lights into Sami, blaming her, but Sami says that both Abe and Jack are dead…but her mom is alive and they can save her. Jen, agrees, telling Sami and Roman to go and see if she needs help. Outside, Roman is still a bit skeptical, but Sami convinces him to go over there, rushing him along. After they are gone, Lexie tells Jennifer maybe they can reach Jack again. Celeste tells them that Jack is still there. Jennifer gets a message on her pager. It says “Meet me in the alley behind Salem Place ASAP”. Celeste takes the pager and holds it near her heart and tells her that she can feel the vibrations…yes it is truly from Jack. Jen grabs her things and rushes off. As Celeste goes upstairs to check on Theo, Lexie hopes that Abe will now be at rest. She hears a noise and walks over to the table, where the Scrabble pieces have spelled out “My darling Lexie, I go in peace. Love Abe”. She looks up and sees him smiling at her and then he vanishes as she cries.

Jennifer goes back to the alley to the Jack memorial, calling his name. All the candles light up then a hand reaches out to her and she takes it as she is bathed in warm light, but then it pulls away and she says “Jack Deveraux…I will always love you” as she turns and all his candles go out.

At the Penthouse…
Marlena is on the terrace having flashbacks of seeing Sami’s image in the mirror and shivers. John comes up behind her, wrapping a scarf around her neck, startling her. He asks if she is really frightened of him. Marlena claims that she is just on edge with all that is going on. John steps toward her and she jumps. He asks if she believes that he is really trying to kill her. Later inside, John tells her that he would never harm her and that he would die before letting anyone hurt her. She can’t believe that they are even having this conversation and wants it to end. She hugs him and they begin to kiss. They get a bit physical and begin to undress just as Sami and Roman arrive in the hallway. They accidentally knock a glass of the table as Sami and Roman hear the crash. Sami decides to use her key to let them in. As Marlena is cleaning up the glass, she cuts herself and is bleeding just as Sami and Roman burst through the door. Sami begins to yell that John is trying to kill her and for Roman to shoot him. Sami rushes to her mom, asking what John did. Marlena is shocked at their behavior and that Sami has convinced Roman that John is a danger to her. Sami tells them about Abe’s warning at the séance. And Roman tells them that if it was a trick, it was a damned good one. As everyone stares at John, he says maybe it is best that he move out for a while. He vows to figure out what is going on. Roman and Sami try to convince Marlena that maybe it is a good idea as Roman helps her with the cut. From the top of the stairs, John stares at Sami, who is glaring back at him smiling…as the previews are shown…

On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Summary: Caroline visits Bo, Sami and John warn each other in front of Roman and Marlena, and Jan continues to shadow Shawn without him seeing her.

SHAWN'S LOFT
While Shawn is studying he hears a knock. He opens the door, but no one's there. Moments later Philip arrives. He assures Shawn the other knock wasn't him, but Shawn's clearly on edge (go figure ;-) about the other knock. We see a hand around the corner as soon as he and Philip go inside. Shawn tells Philip about what Celeste told them (Philip refers to her as a Lexie's mom, the "psychic friend lady") and what his grandmother had told her. We see Jan lurking outside his door. Neither of them believe in ghost stories. Philip asks if Celeste knows who the next victim is. Jan overhears and wonders who it could be as well. Later we hear Shawn rationalizing it's got to be a DiMera/Brady feud behind all of this. Chloe's name comes up and Philip suggests they go get chinese food before he returns to base. Shawn's suddenly hungry and agrees. Jan hides as the guys lock the door and go to the elevator, talking about how Belle tried to make chinese food a few weeks ago and they both admitted it was horrible. Shawn's anxious for her to come home.

BRADY HOME
Hope comes down to find Bo back at his laptop working. He can't get back to sleep thinking about Ma. He's been around death at work before, but never gave the after life much thought until now. He can't believe in the psychic crap and if there was any good and holy person in this world, it was Ma. Hope agrees. He has a feeling Ma's not resting in peace. We see Caroline with rosary strung hands sitting up in her coffin with hands and mouth shaking, like in silent terror/pain. He knows Ma would want him to pray and he tried, but couldn't. (note he has a fire going, but sitting in a sleeveless shirt, ha! ) Hope realizes she's not going to get him to relax or go back to bed, she goes to put on another pot of coffee (hello...any thoughts as to THAT'S why he can't sleep? She put on one yesterday too when he wouldn't go back to bed as well...maybe they ought to go back to the tea). He thanks her for her understanding, kiss kiss. He looks at his ma's obituary while sitting by the fire and immediately dozes off, dropping the paper. Caroline's ghost appears to him. She calls him over to her and hugs him as they both look solid now. She tells him she misses him. He figures he's dreaming, but they glance over and see him still sleeping in his chair. He hugs her, glad she's there, but asks why. She tells him she's at peace. She's lived a good long life and it was her time. The hardest thing for her now is watching her family suffer. He tells her the only way he can rest is to see her killer captured. She tells him she's come to warn/prepare him that it's going to be harder and more suffering is ahead. She tells him the murderer will be caught, but not until more have died. She can't reveal what the future holds, she just wants him to find the strength inside himself to face the future. Bo asks her who, Hope, the kids..but Caroline only tears up and tells him she's so, so sorry. (there's nothing worse then a taunting ghost ;-) He asks what's going to happen and she tells him she can't tell him the future. She knows he has free will, but he's not the one in charge. His future is his alone. She wishes she could tell him more, but to keep a close eye on Shawn. He asks about Hope, but Caroline can only hold his face and assure him he never let anyone down. What she can tell him will help him prepare. She trusts him and he's never let her down and he won't disappoint those who love him. She kisses his cheek and tells him she loves him. He tells her he loves her too and he goes back into his body.

Meanwhile, Hope calls Alice from the kitchen while making coffee. She was just about to call Hope too as Zack had a nightmare and she just got him put back down. Hope offers to come pick him up (Alice is at her kitchen table), but Alice tells her no. Hope's worried if Bo will ever be ok or they'll ever feel safe again, even after the killer is caught (no, not in Salem considering your own history Hope). She remembers how Gran's lap was the safest place in the world to her when she was young and worries about Shawn and Zack. Alice tells her it's a different time now..but Hope's their mother and protector and it's up to her now. Hope feels frustrated as to how to help Bo. She opens the door to see Bo sleeping in his chair (while he's talking to Caroline above) and asks Gran what should she do.

Hope returns to the living room with cofee and hear Bo says I love you and Hope kisses her sleeping husband in the chair and tells him she loves him too. She notices he's pale and his pulse is racing. He awakens and tells her what happened and it wasn't a dream, Ma was there to warn him. He finally tells her it didn't feel like a dream, it felt real and Ma told him something was going to happen to them and he was going to have to be without her. (Caroline never said Hope's name, it was just his interpretation) Hope tells Bo eventually every married couple will face death and the other has to go on. He tells her he lost her once and doesn't want to again. She tells him he made it then and will again, they aren't going to worry about it. He tells her that ma warned him that Shawn might be in danger as well.

PENTHOUSE
John figures maybe he should move out and heads up to pack some things as Sami smirks looking up at him. Roman apologizes to Marlena for rushing in as they had and goes to look at her hand as John watches. Marlena looks up at John, believing in him and tells him she doesn't want him to go. She can't imagine living there w/o him. John comes back down the stairs and Sami rants if he stays that her mother might leave them again, but this time it would be forever. John checks Marlena's hand and goes off to get a bandaid. LOL..Marlena asks when Sami's going to stop this "ranting". Roman's about had enough as he's lost his mother and his daughter within a few days. Sami insists Roman repeat what Celeste predicted. All he knows is what Celeste said and his job is to protect Marlena, at least until the danger is gone. He believes it would be best to separate John from Marlena until then, but will leave it up to John to make the decision. Marlena feels the killer will win if they live in fear. Sami goes off about how she's been suffering since John broke up their family and looking at John, promises to make sure he never hurts her mom or anyone else ever again. Marlena asks if she heard right. Did Sami just threaten her husband. Sami just wants to see him sent to prison for murder one. He reminds her that she's the only murder suspect in the room and she tells the "smug son of a bitch" he's also on the list being he doesn't have an alibi for any of the times people were killed. She can't understand why he's on the task force. The only experience he's had was impersonating her father (guess ISA and being Stefano's killer machine doesn't count) unless it's to cover his own ass being he's the serial killer. Sami tells them her dad agrees with her and both Marlena and John turn to face Roman. Roman said Sami spoke out of turn, but he is a police officer and doing his job. John questions Roman as to how long he's been under suspicion and Roman tells him no one is above it. He tells Sami to be quiet as she rattles on, but she goes on about the last one suspected.. the butler always does it, yada yada. Marlena reminds Sami that she's not dead, but Sami remarks that John has the best motive and everyone knows it. John's been trying to get Rex out of Marlena's life being Stefano created him, but John's the original pawn's spawn who's never been deprogrammed. Marlena tells her they've been there before. Sami can't believe her mother doesn't believe in the supernatural after living through her real life exorcism (no, this is not a normal family, haha). Marlena tells Sami there is evil in Salem and goes on about how Sami tries to destroy people's happiness. Shocked at that, Sami has a flashback of John and Marlena on the conference room table, then says Marlena broke her marriage vows and destroyed their family. John tells Sami to leave (yeah, like that'll work) and Sami goes on about how John's done what he was programmed to do, destroy the Brady's. Marlena just rolled over and let him do it. Marlena tells Sami that if it weren't for John she wouldn't be there. She flashes back to her and John being outside the church in the rain after after he exorcised her..he told her about the drought in Salem during her possession and death. The rain was a signal that it's over. God was rejoicing in heaven that it was over and he's rejoicing to have her back as they hugged in the rain outside the church. Back to present, she tells Sami she loves John and Sami should be ashamed of herself. Roman admits being worried about her. They talk about how being in love can be dangerous too and Kate's name comes up. John tells Roman he has other affairs to tend to and Sami picks up on that phrase. John looks her in the eyes and warns her she will not hurt her mother as she did tonight ever again. Later John helps Marlena sweep up the broken glass after Sami and Roman are gone. John asks who was she trying to convince, them or herself. He admits being worried himself and if there's a chance something could happen to her because he's in her life....she stops him and kisses him.

Outside Roman tells his "little girl" she's the only one creating problems in her mom's life. Sami vows to get John out of her mom's life forever. Inside John and Marlena drop the glass on the floor while kissing. He goes to get it, but she tells him later and they pull off his shirt and go at it on the couch. JACK'S MEMORIAL
Shawn and Philip walk through the alley past Jack's memorial with their bags of leftovers. (with all the killings in Salem, would you be lurking in dark alleys like people have been doing?) Philip says he's going to head back to the marine base (my husband's laughing saying no way would a marine be allowed to have hair that long) Shawn tells him he hasn't reached Belle to tell her about Cassie yet and Philip said to tell her hi for him. Jan lurks nearby, saying everyone loves Belle. We see a flashback of her and her mother as she tells her mom she wants to go back to Salem. She and Shawn were going to have a baby and she would've made a better mother then she is. Her mother said over her dead body and Jan tells her fine, have it her way. She looks at Shawn standing alone by the memorial, lighting a candle, and tells herself now is her chance. Shawn calls Belle and him leaving a message on her voice mail. He's worried he hadn't heard from her and loves her. Jan tells herself not for much longer he won't.

Hope tried to call Shawn and got his voice mail both times. They figure he's sleeping. Bo and Hope tell each other they love each other and lucky to have each other. She reassures him he won't have to be without her for a long time. Outside, we see Caroline crying saying her poor poor Bo.

ON THE NEXT DOOL....

Rex tells Mimi that he saw Kate holding a knife with Cassie's blood on it. Mimi asks if he thinks that Kate did do it then.

Roman tells Kate that there's a new suspect on the list, it's John...

Bo tells Hope it's hard to act like nothing is wrong when Ma is haunting him

Sami tells Roman if he doesn't do anything to protect her mother and she dies, it'll be all his fault...

Summary: Sami is still trying to convince everyone of John/Kate’s guilt…Shawn is being stalked as he talks to Belle…Roman visits Kate in jail…Mimi consoles Rex…and Lucas makes a surprising move…on Sami!

At the Brady House…
Bo is still shaken up over his visit with “ma” as Hope tries to calm him. He is sure that Caroline was giving him a warning, reminding Hope that she has already been attacked 3 times…at the fashion show, in the evidence room and at the wake. Bo thinks that this time the killer will try to hurt them through Shawn. They keep trying to call and locate him but can’t reach him on his cell phone and they worry. Bo calls and has someone do a global tracing on this phone.

Meanwhile, Shawn is on his way home and stops in the alley as Belle calls him from Paris. Jan is shadowing him as eavesdropping on his end of the conversation. She wants to come home, but he tells her how dangerous it is there and feels better with her safe. She wants to know what has happened and he tells her about Cassie and how Kate was found with the bloody knife and was arrested. He hears someone trying to ring him (his folks) but doesn’t want to lose his connection with Belle so doesn’t take the call. She worries about Rex and asks if that puts him in the clear. Shawn explains that Cassie was killed because she figured it out and he feels that if Rex were desperate enough, maybe he could have done it. Belle begins to worry about Mimi’s safety and wants to come home to be with them. But he tries to convince her how dangerous it is (Does she even know about Marlena almost being poisoned?). Shawn hears a noise, as Jan slips through a doorway and cuts his conversation off with Belle, promising to call her back. He goes to investigate. On the other side of the door, Jan has a knife and thinks “I don’t want to hurt you, but I will if I have to” (whatsupwither???) But before he can open the door, Bo and Hope rush up, chastising him for not taking their calls and telling him that they were worried sick. Hope begs him to come home with them and stay the night and he finally concedes and they all head home. After they leave, Jan sneaks out from hiding and follows them.

Later, at home, Shawn eats his Chinese food as the talks to Belle. Jan is eavesdropping at the window. Bo and Hope go on to bed and cuddle as she tells him how safe she feels in his arms. He vows to always protect her and his family. He tells Hope that she may be right and maybe his visit with Ma was all a dream. They talk about how dreams are based in your worst fears. Shawn and Belle continue their conversation, talking about Rex and she asks about his grandfather. He tells her of his dad’s dream that they are in danger. Belle worries about him and misses him but he assures her he will be okay and no one is coming after him. Outside, Jan says “NO ONE is going to keep me from you this time…Belle had better stay away…coming home could be fatal.”

At Rex’s Place…
Rex is mourning the loss of Cassie when Mimi shows up with food. But he doesn’t want to see or talk to her. Finally, he lets her in but tells her that he wants to be alone. He says he isn’t hungry, but she convinces him to eat. Later, she comforts him as he talks about missing his sister. She tells him about losing her grandmother (her “grammy”) and how it hurt her. She was more of a mother than her actual mother. Rex talks about how all Cassie ever wanted was a family and to be loved…now she will never get either. He says that she was vulnerable and that her exterior was just an act and that he was the only one who truly knew her. She hugs him as Rex talks about seeing Kate with the knife. He says that her face had the look of terror and shock. Mimi is sure that she couldn’t have done it and now Rex is doubting it too. He breaks down over the thought of his life without Cassie.

At the Cop Shop…
Lucas visits Kate (in her lovely orange jump suit) and apologizes for being so rough on her before. She swears she didn’t do it as he asks about the knife. She says she was walking along and found it. She worried about it because there were so many children there. After she picked it up she saw the blood and then Cassie fell. Lucas believes her and will stand by her. But Kate is sure that Sami is working overtime trying to convince her dad that Kate is guilty. Roman is on her side, but she is sure that she will end up being blamed.

In Roman’s office, Sami is doing just as Kate feared. But she is busy at the moment running John down. She tries to convince Roman that John is guilty and that if something happens to mom it is all his fault. Roman tells her to lay off, but she claims she is only concerned for her mom. Sami keeps on, saying that it is either John or Kate. Roman asks her okay, which one? She suggests that maybe they are working together and it’s both of them and Roman scoffs at her. She tries to defend her theory and she says that Roman is defending Kate because he is sleeping with her. He then says maybe she is trying to throw suspicion away from herself. Sami is shocked and goes to leave and tells him to HELL with him…when mom dies, she will know who did it and that he could have saved her. On her way out, she mutters, calling him a “wuss” and vows to protect her mom…and her dad too, even though he doesn’t deserver her help. She says that she will do whatever it takes, even if she has to take someone out in the process…THAT is how much she loves them.

Later, after Sami leaves, Roman goes to visit Kate. She is sure that he believes she is guilty and is going to prosecute her. But he holds her and vows to prove her innocence. She is thrilled to hear this and thanks him. He informs her that there is another name on the suspect list…John, which she thinks is insane. Roman agrees, but tells her that John has no alibis and reminds her that at one time, he was controlled by Stefano. Kate asks if that idea came from Sami and he tells her no, from Celeste, in a message from his mother, which frightens Kate. He also tells her about the séance and Abe’s warning as well (about John killing Marlena). Kate finds it all unbelievable as Roman tells her that he doesn’t believe that she nor John are the killer…and that he is going to prove it.

At Sami’s Apartment…
Sami is watching the news report about Kate when Lucas drops by. She is in a foul mood and doesn’t want to see him. He is there about a permission slip for Will’s field trip, but she can’t find it. She is a wreck and he asks her what is wrong. She tells him about fighting with Roman over John and Kate. Lucas scoffs at her, but she tries to explain her reasoning and that she is sure that John is the killer. Lucas laughs at her but she sticks by her guns. He asks if she has any proof but she doesn’t. She talks about stopping John and “doing him in” if she has to. Lucas asks if she believes John is guilty, how could his mom be too…how could BOTH of them be the killer? He ends up calling her “sick”. She is upset that he is taking John & Kate’s sides, saying that both of them are ruining her life. Lucas says she is not only selfish and delusional…she is dangerous too…a “lethal nutcase”…and leaves as she throws a book at him. Later he goes back to get the permission slip and she doesn’t answer the door. He lets himself in and finds her crying on the sofa. She calls herself a loser, saying that she lost everything she ever loved…Austin, Brandon, her grandmother and now maybe her mom and dad. He tries to calm her down, asking what about Will…and ME…the guy who is always there to pick up your broken pieces. The one who just wants to walk on out the door, but is always getting pulled back…DAMMIT!!! He grabs her and kisses her hard…as she responds and begins kissing him back…as the previews roll…

On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Mimi asks Rex if he meant what he said about the Bradys. He says that Roman and his family are going to pay for what happened to Cassie…

Marlena looks down, then stumbles, screaming as she falls into an open grave…

Roman tells Kate that he wants her out of there. Kate asks are you going to help me ESCAPE?

Bo gets a PDA message that looks like a newspaper page. The headline says “Veteran Salem Cop Killed” but the picture is out of focus. Hope says “Oh my God…Bo…WHO???…”

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9TH, 2003

Summary: Family and friends prepare and go to Caroline's funeral. A much nicer funeral then others albeit still one noticeably missing other friends attendance. Roman gets Kate out on bail (no conflict of interest there?) and another victim is announced/predicted by the killer (and Rex ironically at the same time)

SALEM JAIL
Roman goes to see Kate in jail and opens the door, wanting her out of there. She hurries after him.

REX AND MIMI
Another shirtless day for Rex. Mimi returns from her apartment across the hall, now dressed in black for Caroline's funeral. Being Caroline was his grandmother, she feels he should go as well, but his opinion is that all the Brady's can just die. Later we return to him still shirtless, but wearing a towel as they argue about why he should go to the funeral. She feels it'll help prove his innocence and when she leaves to finish getting ready, he smiles saying this is perfect and will surprise a lot of people.

BRADY HOME
Shawn's changing downstairs (thankfully he has clothes still there), and opens the door to someone unexpected. It's Jen delivering a box of donuts from Gran (I think the serial killer is Gran with all those fried donuts, haha). Of course Jan is lurking in the bushes outside.

Upstairs Bo and Hope start to change after she got Zack ready (must have whipped over to gran's and picked him up already). Neither can believe what's happening to their friends and family. Roman just lost his mom and daughter and now had to arrest the woman he loves. Neither feels John could kill Marlena or how it must feel to even doubt her own husband.

SAMI'S APARTMENT
We join Lucas and Sami. He's naked, except for a bath towel around his waist and her in a sexy black teddy. She asks about the scratches on his arm (a clue?) that he explains as from a mean hockey game. We learn she sent him home after the steamy kiss the night before (oh DARN!!) and he let himself back into her apartment with his emergency key the next morning for a hot shower (being his shower is still broken). He tells her the kiss brought them closer and it takes two to tango and she was enjoying it too. She says they'll never be closer, she was just alone and vulnerable. They share a son only and his mother was arrested for killing Cassie and he should be in the cell next to her. She watches carefully as he reties his towel as he suggests they put aside their differences to bury Caroline. He figures her father will do anything to be closer to his mom, maybe even send her to the gas chamber again. Mentioning one lethal injection thanks to him and his mom "the archbitch", she knows her father has to drop Kate before she ruins his life.

CEMETARY
Marlena stands next to Caroline's open grave, remembering Sami's warning in the mirror. She looks at Caroline's headstone (engraved already with Caroline Brady, Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, but no dates) as it morphs into her own name and then falls face forward into the grave. She wonders if she was pushed as we see John standing above, looking down in the grave. No, she just fell in (the soil around the grave is loose he determines) and he reaches down and pulls her out. After he hugs her, he makes sure she didn't sprain her ankle as she's favoring it. She tells him she was remembering her twin sister who's life was cut short by a murderer and now her name sake is accused of being a killer. She has a confession to make to him (being around a church, and him formerly a priest, it must seem natural to use that wording ;-) as they go inside the church as he tells her she can tell him anything. Mentioning Caroline's prediction (that he calls a crock being second hand from a "ghost"), she thought he pushed her into the grave. He softly offers to move out of the penthouse if it would help, but she tells him he's her soul mate and no, she needs him. They hug, vowing to love each other always.

Lucas finds Sami lurking outside the church door, upset John and her mom are still together. Lucas tries to get her to lighten up on it today for Will's sake. He's concerned about his son's well being with everyone he loves being a suspect. Sami tells him after her mom's dead they'll all know she's right.

Bo, Hope and Shawn join John and Marlena. They ask about Kimberly and Kayla and are told they're in the nursery with Pop and Zack (note they must stay in there the whole service as they aren't in the church or by the gravesite later..shame shame!!). Victor arrives, alone. He tells Bo that Nicole is home sick and that they still have guards following them. He called and cleared his coming to the funeral with Shawn Sr. as well. Bo calmly tells his father that he knows how much he cared for Caroline and it's okay. Victor asks about being Kate was arrested, and how come he's still being followed. Bo explains that Kate's innocent until proven guilty. Victor wisely retorts that he's guilty then until proven innocent (good line!!) Privately Hope tells Shawn D. that she's worried about him being the next target as we see his face in a digital camera viewfinder and hear a snap as his picture was taken (Jan). Pop comes out of the nursery, concerned Roman's not there yet, it's not like him to be late (where are all Caroline's friends? She was so active in the church..her quilting group would be there if nothing else!!) Roman walks in with Kate (now wearing her fur coat) as Shawn Sr. is aghast that his son brought his wife's murderer to her funeral. Sami is the only one who can ask "Daddy, how could you?" Marlena tells Sami to stay where she is. Bo dispatches Shawn Sr. back to the sanctuary and confronts Roman as to what he's doing. Roman tells them he went to a judge and convinced him that Kate should should be out on bail as he believes she's innocent and was framed. He tells them all he loves this woman and tells them all she's innocent and will do everything he can to clear her name and bring the real killer to justice. Rex and Mimi walk in and Roman said he's welcome to stay after Mimi said Caroline was his grandmother. Shawn D. goes outside to blow off some steam and Bo quietly pulls Roman aside. He's concerned about how much Pop's heart can take today and suggests Roman take his lady friend elsewhere considering. Roman mentions Victor's presence and Bo tells him that Victor called and cleared it with Pop. Today's not the time to make a stand. Roman isn't swayed and figures Ma would approve and if no one else believes that, tough. Lucas softly is happy for his mom, they both know Sami won't approve. Marlena has to step outside for some air and while John offers to go with her, she asks to go alone. Jenn and Hope talk. She's worried about Abby as Gran joins them. Bo goes to check on Pop as the gals worry about their kids. Mom's never stop worrying about them.

Outside Shawn is caught in the camera cross hairs again as Marlena joins him. He figures she's there to defend Rex and he doesn't want to hear it and walks off. She senses someone is there and Jan puts on a smile and walks out of the bushes. She explains she didn't want Shawn to see her and wanted to quietly pay her respects. Marlena suggests she go inside and let Shawn know, but Jan feels it's too soon and embarrassing that she's getting psycho therapy. She asks for Marlena not to tell anyone she's back in town. Marlena agrees, saying she'll see her at their next session and goes back inside the church as Jan looks at the last digi pic of Shawn she took saying when the time is right, she'll have Shawn all to herself.

Sami walks in to find Rex talking to Roman and Kate. She mentions how Madia (sp) slaughtered her own children and he's surprised she reads classics. He knows Kate didn't kill Cassie, which surprises all three of them. Lucas overhears and Rex explains that the killer is too smart to be caught with a bloody knife with Cassie's blood on it. Roman remembers how the killer came back for the brick that hit Jack and agrees. Kate thanks Rex and softly touches his cheek as he smiles down at her (very sweet). Jen's worried about Abby and Father Jansen joins them, saying the service is ready to begin.

The church is empty except for the people mentioned above (shame shame.) as Shawn, Bo, John and Roman carry her casket to the front of the church to the bagpipes playing Amazing Grace. The camera pans everyone's faces as they soulfully watch the casket being carried in. Bo gives the first eulogy as Carolines large portrait is on the casket. He talks how she was the glue that kept them together. He says if they can keep her love in their hearts they'll be able to continue and be better people and Salem will be a better place for it. He touches her casket as he sits down and Shawn D. tells everyone how he had 19 years with his grandmother. It wasn't enough. She always lent her ear when needed and she was strict when he got too rowdy. But above all she had a wise heart when he needed to know which way to turn. He thanks her and will try to be as strong as she was for their family. He kisses his hand and touches her casket in tears. It's Hope's turn. She puts a red rose on her casket and tells her she was intimidated when she first became her mother in law, worried she couldn't live up to the example she set...but it wasn't long before she bloomed into her life like a beautiful rose. She never let a person get the better of her and it was the greatest gift she gave to them. In these dark days she thinks Caroline would tell them to resist the forces of ignorance and to be strong and stand up to the enemies that are upon them. Sami breaks down hearing that (as she sits behind Kate and Roman) and says it's all Kate's fault and Johns. They should be burying them.

Jennifer is next as she says this killer can't ruin their way of life and they must go on. Abby walks in and sits by Gran as she mourns her husband Jack and Aunt Maggie. She's thankful she and Abby are surrounded by so many loving people and the Brady and Horton's should stay together and they along with the good people of Salem. Caroline said they could stay together and weather any storm.

Roman says he misses his ma but if there's any justice in this universe, they'll see each other again (sooner then you know Roman). Anyone that walks in the pub will be a child of God and they'll share that love as she would want and had taught them (Pop nods at that). He tells her she's an angel, one that walked amongst them and may she rest in peace. Everyone says AMEN.

At the gravesite we hear Father Jansen read from the Bible about making all things new..as Sami and Lucas start bickering (give it a break). Will hears Sami mention her mom may be the next victim and asks if his mom is the killer. Grandma Kate's out of jail, so maybe it is her or dad. He rushes off, not wanting to hear anymore as Lucas tells her good going.

Roman goes in the church and John joins him. He wanted to tell him he's sorry about his mother and there's no truth to him going to kill Marlena. Sami would do anything to get him out of the picture. Roman puts a halt to any more talk about his daughter and bottom line, still cares about what happens to Marlena and will be watching him. Sami overhears that from outside the door. John knows Roman is still in love with Marlena despite his proclaimed love for Kate. Roman promises to apologize to John WHEN he's found not to be a suspect.

Victor tells Sami that Kate asked him to deal with her and for Will's sake, will leave her alone for the holidays. He can prove she lied under oath and will see she's sent to jail. Sami is aghast he'd threaten her on the day her grandmother is being buried and in a sanctuary where all these angels preside. He chuckles, saying the angels gave up on her a long time ago (LOL). Sami knows her grandmother wouldn't want this. Sami vows she has to get rid of Victor before the new year and storms out.

Rex tells Roman and Kate he's figured out who the next victim will be and it will be hard on Kate. Rex figures the killer will come after him, Roman. Marlena shouts no.

Shawn tells his parents he can handle Rex and going back to the loft. Jan overhears from a plant in the church. She asks Bo if he can lock him up somewhere safe, LOL.

Shawn asks Father Jansen who that woman is with a black hat and veil, but Jan disappears. She tells herself that Shawn is all hers.

Jen and Abby talk by the gravesite. She tells Abby that Caroline isn't down there where it's dark, she's up in heaven with daddy. Abby tells Jen it's her fault that daddy's up in heaven, not with us. Lucas and Sami continue their arguing as well.

His PDA signals a message and they read..A MURDER IS ANNOUNCED. A newspaper article about a Salem Police Veteran is the next victim and a picture of Roman in uniform comes on the screen. Hope says oh my God, no!!..

ON THE NEXT DAYS OF OUR LIVES

Brady tells his granddad he's not in the mood for surprises, but Victor tells him this surprise will change his entire life (as he stands by a curtain).

Nicole tells herself that once Brady sees Chloe he'll forget she ever existed...

Sami tells Lucas he only cares about her for Will's sake and doesn't care about her at all. Lucas says that's not true, he does care about her...

Roman sees Bo's PDA and reads he's killed in the line of duty, another victim of the Salem Serial Killer (maybe some cops will show up at HIS funeral then???)...as the suspects pictures flash on the screen and a gunshot cues the credits....

The Brady Family mourners forget they are in a church, a house of God, as they yell & argue either privately, in groups, or within the entire assembly, while Nicole has fears about the surprise Victor has for Brady.

BRADY & NICOLE are walking in the cemetery, talking of the moving ceremony for Caroline (didn’t Vic say Nicole was not feeling well, and wouldn’t be coming? Anyone see her in the church?). Brady tells of how Pop Shawn reminded him that when you find everlasting love, you should not let it go. He leaves to tell someone something he should have a long time ago. We find him next at Caroline’s grave, thanking her for always being so kind to him, tho not his real grandmother…..and asking her to give his mother his love when she sees her, and that tho he never knew her, he knows what a great lady she was, and the wonderful love she shared with his dad, even tho their time together was short. (There appears to be scatters of snow on the ground now). Meanwhile Victor has come upon Nicole, and chides her for trying to hold Brady’s interest. As Brady talks at the gravesite of his love for Chloe, Victor makes sure Nicole hears him. He tells Nicole why he wants Brady & Chloe back together, gets a phone call, telling the person to “take her to the house”. Nicole is upset, knowing Victor has managed to get Chloe to Salem.

AT THE KIRIAKIS, Victor talks of it being such a sad day, but that Caroline would want some happiness to be had. He has a surprise. He leaves the room to make a phone call, & Nicole takes advantage. She mixes a drink, telling Brady he did the right thing on the phone last night, telling Chloe to stay in Europe and concentrate on her career. Brady says he is not too sure about that, and leaves to change clothes. Victor returns, taunts Nicole about looking like a drowning woman. They hear a car, Victor looks out window, then calls Brady downstairs, & urges Nicole to join them as he shows Brady his surprise. He prepares to open a drapery.

INSIDE THE CHURCH, we have a replay of Bo & Hope getting the killer’s message on his PDA, Roman’s obit notice. In the church vestibule, a replay of Rex telling everyone that Roman will be the next victim. Tony arrives with a wreath (?) to pay condolences to the family on the loss of Caroline, but then says something to Roman about soon being reunited with his mother in the hereafter. Rex gives all the reasons he thinks Roman to be the next target, getting Kate out of jail, his statement to the judge, his vow to personally bring the killer to justice. Bo & Hope come in with the news of the killer’s message. Roman reads his obit on the PDA, which also says no clues or evidence were found at the scene. Cue Sami to now go on a rant, screaming at her dad to arrest John now. Roman yells at her to cool it, but she next goes on the rampage about Rex being the killer, and soon everyone is screeching at each other. (Did these people just not bury Caroline? How can they forget where they are?) Hope stops them all, calming them down, and with Bo, reminds them that they cannot let the killer divide the town. Bo quietly says they must all stick together. He tries to get Roman to take himself off the case, but he refuses. Marlena tries to talk to him, reminding him how important he is to his family. They hug, as John & Kate watch.

Sami is inside the church, praying for help to save her dad, and a way to get her parents back together. Lucas comes in and overhears. He argues with Sami about letting this stuff go, her parents are NOT going to get back together. As she lights a candle, she has an idea of a way that should work. Kate & John see them, and realize Sami is up to something. Out in the vestibule, Tony asks Roman to whom he should send condolences when Roman goes, Marlena or his current lady, Kate. He taunts Roman a bit, then leaves. John stops him, but in their conversation, Tony reminds John that Marlena is still Roman’s wife in the eyes of God. Tony then baits John about being Stefano’s Pawn, and tho a long time ago, maybe he still is under that power and is the killer.

Sami comes out into the vestibule with what she thinks is a terrific idea. She urges Roman to go away somewhere with Marlena, far away together, to be safe. Sami begs, then cries as Roman, very gently, tells her no. And that he and Marlena are NEVER going to be together. Sami goes to Caroline’s grave (which is filled in, and the ground has even settled already!), and cries as she talks to her grandmother. Lucas follows her. Sami talks of being alone, that Austin and then Brandon left her, and that when her parents are gone, except for Will, she will have no one. Lucas replies that she still will have him, & lets her know he really cares….but Sami pushes him away in her usual sarcastic manner.

Mimi tries to talk Rex into accepting Roman as his father. Rex refuses, but Tony comes up to them, agreeing with Mimi. Marlena tells Roman maybe he should leave, but Roman refuses. He doesn’t run away. Bo & Hope come in, telling everyone how the Salem P.D. has mobilized itself, volunteering to work double shifts etc. to rally around Roman. (Since the Salem PD lost track of 7 suspects, not once, but twice; were not able to find Abe for who knows how long, surrounded the church at the triple funeral and yet a 4th casket was able to be slipped in, would not place too much stock in their being “on alert”….lol) He doesn’t want that, though, but does want to put himself out there as bait. And on the next show..

Brady, with a big smile, says I don’t believe it. What’re you doing back in Salem?

Lucas says “Truce” to which Sami replies…..not if you were the last male human on the planet

Kate asks if there is anything she can do to help keep Roman safe, and John says yes, there is

Roman asks Marlena if she is willing to risk her life to prove John’s innocence, to which Marlena replies that she would give her life for her husband, and Bo comments that’s a chance you may have to take

Summary: Victor has a surprise for Brady…John and Kate discuss Roman’s safety…Marlena pleads with Roman to let John help…and Sami follows in her mother’s footsteps…LITERALLY…and falls in an open grave. But Lucas is there to pick her up once again.

At the Kirakis Mansion…
Victor has a surprise for Brady…no it’s NOT Chole as we all thought…it’s a lady named “Stevie”. Apparently, she was a friend of Isabella’s from college, who is now a famous architect. Nicole goes to leave, but Victor stops her and asks her to stay and listen. Victor has commissioned Stevie to design the “Isabella Tosconi Black Concert Hall”. He pulls Nicole aside and tells her that this is only the beginning…he is going to make all of Brady’s dreams come true, an they don’t include HER. They look at a model of the hall and Brady is impressed. Stevie needs to go and meet with her contractors and after she leaves, Brady gushes but asks Victor what he has in mind. Brady says he would love to hear Chloe sing there someday. Victor says your wish is my command and hands him a portfolio with information about Chloe being the artist in residence there and Brady also being on the board of directors. (While all this is going on , Nicole continues to comment and roll her eyes). Brady tries to turn it down but Victor goes on to tell him that when Chloe was sick, Brady talked about his mother’s presence. Victor tells him the day of their meeting, they had a Chinese buffet and he shows him his fortune… “Angels are Near”. Brady is shocked, for that is the same fortune he got during that time. Victor says he took it as a sign and wanted to do this for his dear Isabella. Brady isn’t so sure about all this, but Victor claims to only want to make him happy. Brady thinks that Victor is just offering his girlfriend the position, but Victor assures him that the artist in residence is nominated and voted on by the board and that they really want Chloe as he reads some of her reviews to them. Brady finally admits that he would love to see Chloe (as Nicole winces). Nicole points out that Chloe is a novice and has a lot to learn. And Victor agrees, saying that she can learn from the new maestro in residence, who is apparently world-known. Nicole starts spouting off, but Brady turns and calls her rude and negative. She says that Isabella had nothing to do with this, it is Victor pulling all the strings. Brady asks if Chloe has accepted the offer and Victor says he hasn’t talked to her. He hands him the phone and tells him to call her and make the offer. In the hallway, Victor rubs Nicole’s nose in it as she watches Brady making the call.

In the Cemetary…
Lucas and Sami are still arguing over the Roman/Kate situation. The subject changes to their kiss as Lucas reminds her that she responded. She tries to make light of it, insulting him, but we (and Lucas) can tell that it got to her. Lucas keeps on and really gets her good but she won’t admit to having feelings for him (good snappy dialogue here). She scoffs at him and says that she caught him looking at her too. They continue to banter back and forth and he asks for a truce and sticks out his hand. She says not if he were the last human male on the planet and turns to leave. She loses her footing and just like her mother, falls into an open grave (getting Roman’s ready so soon?) Lucas rushes to help her.

On the other side of the cemetery, John and Kate are talking about Lucas and Sami. Kate fears for Lucas, but John says he has a plan to neutralize Sami. He tells her that he plans on using love and that his love for Marlena will prevail but Kate is skeptical. Kate and John hear Sami scream, but Kate scoffs that she is always shrieking about something, so they don’t go and check on her. Kate says that if Sami were lying in the road bleeding, she would just drive on by (LOL). Kate is really worried about Roman and asks what can she do to help. John says if she is serious about his safety to stick by his side. He assures her that he does NOT believe that she is the killer and calls her his friend. She asks if he thinks Roman will die and John tells her that he thinks Roman will play it smart, but can’t assure her. Kate says that she always heard that when someone is close to death, they remember their pasts and she has been seeing Roman and Marlena getting closer lately. She thinks that her and Roman’s time may be limited. John assures her that he can tell by looking at Roman that he loves her…and nothing will change that.

Meanwhile, Sami assures Lucas that she is okay as she brushes herself off. He offers his assistance…but only IF she will ask for it, which she will NOT (LOL) as he taunts her, telling her that the only other people around are John and his mom. Lucas defends John and Kate, but Sami says they are evil and that they are planning her dad’s murder. They continue to bicker but she won’t ask for his help. Lucas gives her hell about wanting her mom and dad back together. He asks her when is she going to let this vendetta against John go. She finally admits to wanting his help and he reached down and pulls her out (very symbolic, IMO). He tries to talk to her but she doesn’t want to listen to his theory. Sami claims John STOLE her mother away from her father. But Lucas thinks that she thought of John as her father and loved him. But when she found out he wasn’t turned on him. But Sami is convinced that John is going to kill her mother. Lucas puts his arm around her but she yells for him not to touch her and storms off. Alone, she says that she won’t let John kill her mom…she will kill HIM first!

In the church…
Marlena, Bo and Hope continue to argue with Roman about his plan to set himself up as bait. Roman is determined to beat the killer at his own game. Hope thinks it could work, but Marlena and Bo aren’t so sure. Bo wants Hope off the case right now, being that she has already been attacked 3 times and he is worried about her. Hope doesn’t like to hear that and wants to talk to him ALONE (yes ma’am!). Alone, they argue about her leaving the force. She is determined not to back down. But Bo is only worried about her safety and keeps remembering Caroline’s warning. She reminds him that they have been through a lot and survived. She is sure that they can stop the killer and they will do it together. In the other room, Marlena sees that she cannot change Roman’s mind and asks him to bring John in to help on the case. Roman is against the idea but Marlena pleads her case. Roman points out that John could be involved which upsets her. Roman asks what if Sami and Celeste are right…is she willing to risk her life. She says she would give her life in a heartbeat. Hope and Bo come back and Bo points out that they have no evidence against John, but he was MIA during all the murders. Marlena points out that she was as well (Hmmmm, interesting) but no one is suspecting her. Marlena also points out that if John WERE the killer, they would have him under surveillance all the time. Bo thinks that the killer is playing a game with them and trying to turn them all against one another with suspicion…the ultimate mind game. Roman agrees that they all need to stick together and finally decides to bring John onboard, which thrills Marlena. She thinks it could help with the problems between John and Sami too. But Roman says he isn’t so sure about that. As Bo and Hope talk, his PDA beeps. Marlena just wants Roman to be careful and they hug…just as John and Kate walk in to see. Bo takes out his PDA and there is a picture of Roman on the screen…and it change to a skull and reads: “Roman Brady is Dead”…and the previews roll…

On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Shawn tells Philip that Belle told him she has a date with a hot guy then hung up on her…

Nicole says to Brady “Bring her back to Salem so she can be the serial killer’s next victim” Brady asks “Is that a threat?”…

Marlena says to John: “ I care about him John”…John: “You LOVE him”…Marlena “Yes, I do”…

Sami opens a door (looks like at DiMansion) to come face with the killer (in the hockey mask) as she screams…

…and the credits roll.

Summary: Chloe tells Brady her decision whether to return to Salem, Sami decides to frame Kate but finds her own surprise in Kate's closet, someone surprises Shawn in the dark gym....kudos to Ali Sweeney (Sami) on her performance tomorrow...she's so good at being soo bad...

KIRIAKIS MANSION
Nicole anxiously awaits what happens on Brady's phone call to Chloe. She explains it as not wanting another roommate, which Chloe would probably be if she returned to Salem. He tells her not to worry about it as SHE is moving out. She sadly asks if he wants her to move out, but no, he just wants her happy and she isn't married to his grandfather. They talk about him and Chloe and she thinks Chloe's doing what she should be doing now. She explains Victor is only out to separate her from him and knows how to pull his strings. Chloe's the lesser of the two evils (her being the other one). She knows how much the truth means to Brady and does he want Chloe to come home because of his feelings for Chloe or is he afraid of his feelings for her (Nicole). Brady finally has to spell it out for Nicole and tell her he feels sorry for her but has NO romantic feelings for her at all. Crushed, she ties another tact, saying by all means to bring back Chloe so she can be the next victim for the serial killer. He asks if that's a threat. She denies that and he doesn't believe she is, she just stepped over the line saying that. She feels Chloe should makes her own decision whether to return or not. Victor has to control all the women he loves.

Later Victor finds a morose Nicole pacing the foyer. She tells him Brady couldn't reach Chloe, but feels Chloe won't return to Salem when she has all of Europe. Nicole throws Victor's real loves into his face (Caroline and Loretta Toscano). He figures fate will pay Nicole back. The phone rings and Brady is delighted it's Chloe as Nicole and Victor hear him in the foyer. Victor smiles. Later we join them as they listen from behind as Brady tells Chloe what's happening. Chloe decides quickly and answers yes. Brady's delighted, commenting about her coming home.

AT THE GYM...
Shawn apparently left the funeral as soon as it was over and took a swim at the school gym. Philip joined him there (guess as a guest of a student?) We see them return to the locker room donned only in their swim trunks and a towel around their necks (well, it's another way to have them both shirtless, haha) as Shawn's cellphone rings in his gym bag. He's unable to find it (we gals know how THAT feels) and knows it must be Belle and a problem. Jan lurks outside the doorway (oh paleez, the Salem PD needs to hire HER to guard their victims, at least she doesn't lose them!) There's too much static on the phone. but she's able to tell him she has a date with a hot guy before hanging up. Jan smirks how Belle's making Shawn miserable as Philip talks him into calling Belle back and he can't reach her (who's paying for all these cell international calls I wonder?) Philip apologizes for not coming to Caroline's funeral citing paid his platoon got paid PTO for ROTC recruiting or something. He suggests they leave as the college game is almost over and the locker room will be mobbed. They go into the locker room to change as Jan vows Shawn won't get away from her that easily. She finds the school mascot's eagle costume and puts it on and walks into the guys locker room. One of Shawn's classmates tells "bird brain" he owes him a burger and she merely nods as she stares at Shawn taking off his swim trunks..calling it a bird's eye view. Shawn feels like someone is watching him and has been since he was at grandma's wake. Philip figures he might be followed and they both look at the mascot as Jan thinks...c'mon Shawn, ruffle my feathers..After they're dressed, Shawn figures they'll shower at home (good choice being you're dressed) as the gym will be closing shortly (thought the game was just about to end...oh well..) as a jock tells "bird brain" he has to study for a test and will pass on the burger for now. Jan tells herself she just got a taste of Shawn and will have to make him take it off next time.

MEANWHILE...BACK AT ST. LUKES...
some are still gathered in the church talking about Pop Shawn's request for no after funeral gathering. Roman explains Pop's tired after all the wakes and funeral and not up to it (Can understand that...the wake was around Thanksgiving and it's now, what, December 12th when the show airs, LOL!) Roman tells Sami that he's taking Kate out for a quiet dinner and tells Sami to get use to her and Lucas as they'll be family soon. The funeral director brings the final invoice to Roman, who thanks him for a job well done and signs off on it as Sami continues to rant. It's the last straw for her when the Mr. Milbower gives Roman his business card for the future (LOL) and she starts off on all the business they're giving him and didn't he know her parents were threatened to be next. Marlena goes and hugs Sami, realizing how distraught she is. The director hands Roman a layout of the Brady plots and it falls to the ground. Marlena gasps when picking it up as it has her and Roman's plot on there as well. Turns out that was one thing they overlooked changing after their divorce and Sami goes off on she knew they belonged together, even in death and still married in the eyes of God. Roman stops the bickering, tired of his mother being used as a pawn and excuses the director after thanking him. Roman suggests they all go out to dinner to celebrate his mother. Sami is wound like a coil and tears off to prevent her parents from beng the next victims. Outside the church she vows to get Kate. Roman invites Lucas to join them for dinner. Roman watches John and Marlena talking across the room. Kate's worried about both Roman and Marlena's safety. She asks he let John continue to work with him on finding the killer. He assures her that he'll be safe.

Marlena looks at the Brady plot plan as John vows to protect her, even from himself if need be. She admires Roman's determination to fight the killer and his threat was from the killer, not a ghost. John believes Sami is right..she and Roman should leave Salem together right away. He sent Belle out of the country to keep her safe and won't hesitate sending her too (just send her to Paris to Christmas shop with Belle, duh!) She asks for how long and feels Salem is the safest place for her. He asks if Roman was willing to leave town, would she? Confused, she asks if this is a test of some sort and she loves him. John doesn't want to feel responsible for Roman's life. They join Kate and Roman and John offers to install a top notch home security system for Roman (why, he's rarely there), but Roman refuses. (wonder if Roman leaves his home to Sami (and Will)? Roman's going to take Kate out to celebrate her freedom and not wasting any more time. Lucas goes with them as John kisses Marlena's head. They return to the church altar to talk. Great scene as John reminds Marlena that when he came to Salem it was in the security field and feels bad that his offer to Roman must have reminded him of how he took Roman's wife away from him. She tells him he didn't take her away from Roman...she fell in love with him. John counts the day he met her as the day he was born. If he didn't have her in his life, he wouldn't be him. He'd lose his mind if he didn't have her. She wishes she could promise him forever, but the best she can do is promise him that the day she dies, she'll be his wife. John saw her hug Roman earlier and knows she had comforted him after Caroline's death and worried about losing him now. She claims she cares about him (Roman), but he knows that he cares about Roman, but she loves him. She admits it. She loves Roman, but she's IN love with him. He loves her too and kisses her. She wishes Roman and Sami could find the happiness she has. He asks her if she doesn't think Kate and Roman are happy together. Time will tell, but she knows Sami and Kate have a history and it'll be tough. Crying, she wants to go home with him, the man she loves. He laughs, telling her to tell him how she really feels, as they both break up in laughter. Her cellphone rings and she regrets having to answer it, but it's a patient she's worried about. Of course it's Jan and still in the mascot costume, tells Marlena how distraught she is and needs help. Marlena asks if she feels self destructive, but Jan tells her no. Marlena agrees to meet her in her office in 15 minutes. John asks who it was and she only replies..trouble. Jan is taking off the costume and chuckles about being crazy to hurt herself. Outside she hears Shawn talking to Philip and thanking him for hanging with him. Philip figures it was just the static and Belle's okay. Jan tells herself she knows exactly what to do.

BASIC BLACK
Sami goes to Kate's office (wearing white plastic gloves) and says Kate won't return there as her life is over. She sits at Kate's computer (which is on and ready to go) and types A MURDER IS ANNOUNCED. She typed what Uncle Bo found on his PDA onto Kate's hard drive of her computer, then checks off a list of victims (with Roman, then Marlena the last two on the list) to make a more convincing case, saying her parents will not be victims. She hears Roman and Kate's voices in the hallway and hurriedly pulls on her black gloves over the plastic ones just before they walk in. Roman's token "Sami, whatda hell are you doing in here" is asked as Kate and Lucas watch as well. Kate repeats Roman's phrase (uh oh) as Sami explains nothing else is in her life, so she came to work and saw Kate's light was on and going to turn it off. Roman asks about the gloves and Sami tells him she just got there and it's cold outside. More bickering between Kate and Sami before Lucas decides to go pick Will up and spend the evening with him and will let Kate and Roman have a night alone. Roman mentions Kate hasn't had much to eat in the last 24 hrs. (guess they don't feed them in the jail?) and Sami tosses back food isn't what Kate wants and Roman's anxious to "boff" her. Roman finally yells for Sami to shut up and she leaves, but not before purposely dropping the papers on Kate's desk on the floor. Lucas helps her pick them up before he leaves. Outside Kate's door, Sami figures she accomplished her goal to send Kate away (wouldn't the time and date be registered for when that was keyed into the computer?)

Roman tells Kate he loves her very much and will protect her. They laugh about his throwing her in jail and she credits it to his professional integrity. She promises to never lie to him again as she doesn't want to waste any time they've got together before they hug. He tells her he has all the motivation to stay alive and they talk about getting married, and soon, before kissing. She's starved and he has an idea. He tells her they're going home and have a job to do. He has a surprise and they'll work food into it. They turn off the light and leave happily.

BACK AT THE GYM
Philip and Shawn take forever to walk the 20 ft. to the door out as everyone else has now gone and the lights are off, LOL! Shawn forgot something in the locker room and goes back, Philip takes off. Jan hides when he comes into the room and sneaks out after he walks in, leaving the door open. Sensing someone is there, he calls out. No one answers, but he sees the Salem PD poster of the serial killer (in the hockey mask and hood) with who to call if they see the killer. He opens a door and asks someone what they're doing there.

SALEM INN
Sami breaks into Kate's room to hide more evidence, the list of the victims. She walks throughout the immaculate suite (but then how often is Kate there?) and decides to hide it in the closet. She opens the door and the serial killer comes out with knife raised at Sami. She screams at the top of her lungs.....

as the previews for tomorrow's show roll...

John wants Marlena to admit the truth...that's she's jealous of Kate and Roman...

Shawn talks to Belle (aha, she must be the one in the gym he finds above)....she returned because people are dying and he tells her that Marlena is a potential victim and her father will be the one who kills her...

John tells Roman (and Kate) that Roman wasn't the next target, it was Sami and she's dead...Roman yells NOOOO

Roman pulls off the serial killers mask to see who it is and everyone in the room gasps, saying Oh my God...

as the credits roll...
