FRIDAY FEBRUARY 7, 2003

Episode # 9492
Tape Date: 1-21-03
Director: Phil Sogard

Summary: This show revolves mainly around John and Marlena’s plans to leave for the island….Belle and Sami offer each other advice about their respective love lives (haha)…Brandon attempts to counsel Shawn…Roman locks Kate in a room...Jack makes a decision about Jennifer’s situation. Not a terribly exciting show, but interesting.

At Jennifer’s House…
She paces the floor in her dark living room (only the light of the fire) and lies down on the sofa to cry, fearing she has lost Jack for good. There is a knock at the door and she opens it to find Jack, who informs her that he went over to Jo and Vern’s and packed up all his things. She thinks he is leaving town and she has lost him for good and begins to cry. He informs her that he is moving in with her and Abby…that is, if she will have him. He tells her that THEY are all that matters to him and that he has never loved her more and that they are forever. She is so ashamed of what she did, but he vows to always love her. He tells her to trust him for he knows what they need to do. After he carries his things inside, Jennifer asks him what he meant and he pulls out a home pregnancy test. She is reluctant but he assures her that it will be fine, not matter what the results. He tells her that he loves her and that it is her face that he wants to wake up to every morning…if she will have him. He asks if the bed is still made up in the guest room and she excitedly tells him that it is his if he wants it. He offers to help her upstairs and says that the first thing in the morning they will take the test and face it together.

In the Park…
Shawn is shooting basketball as he has flashbacks of dumping Belle. He has a cramp in his leg and falls just as Brandon walks up, trying to help him. Shawn is hateful to him and just wants him to leave him alone. Brandon asks what is his problem, but Shawn doesn’t want to talk to him. Instead, they play a little one on one. Brandon asks if he and Belle are having problems and Shawn opens up just a bit. Brandon assures him that it will go no further, as Shawn tells him that he may have committed a crime. He clams up but Brandon says it isn’t like you committed murder or anything. Well, that slams the lid on any further discussion and tells Brandon to stop pushing him…he hardly even knows him. Brandon goes to leave, but Shawn stops him, wanting to shoot some hoops, telling him he will “whoop his ass”. As they play, Shawn’s anger emerges and he gets rather physical. As Brandon complains, Shawn gets upset and tells him to just leave. (I don’t really understand the point of these scenes…maybe it has some significance later on).

At the Hospital…
Marlena is in her office and finds the note Kate left her just as Roman in. Mr. Nosey Parker wants to know what is in it so Marlena opens it and reads it, telling him that Kate just wants to meet with her. Roman tells her that Kate visited Tony and he just blurts out, asking if she (Marlena) is the mother of the twins. Marlena is a bit upset that Tony even insinuated that possibility to Roman and Kate. In her own polite way, she tells Roman to butt out, assuring him that she and John can handle their own problems. Roman says he is worried about her…as well as Kate and Sami. He says that he can see Tony reeling them in. He is sure that something is haunting Kate and wants her to stay away from Tony. Marlena hopes that Kate will heeds Roman’s advice. Roman talks about how difficult Kate can be as Marlene says he sounds like a man in love. Roman denies it and makes Marlena an offer…he will stay out her personal life if she will stay out of his. They agree, but both wish each other happiness.

At Basic Black…
We have basically the same conversation going on between Kate and John. He is preparing to leave, giving Kate last minute instructions. Kate brings up Tony and the Gemini Twins, telling John that she had just visited with Tony. John gives her the third degree, telling her to be careful with Tony. She tells John that Tony is sure he is their father and asks if Marlena could possibly be their mother. John (not as politely as his wife) tells Kate that it is none of her business. Kate says that Marlena is her friend and she cares and is worried about her. Kate says she just wants to help, but John tells her to just do her job and butt out.

After John leaves, Roman shows up with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne. She asks what he is up to as he locks the door behind him. She becomes quite aggravated with him as he asks why she is running so scared. She tries to leave but he tells her that neither of them are going nowhere until he gets some answers. He offers her champagne, but instead she takes the flowers and starts beating him with them. (I don’t know what it is, but I LIKE these two together).

Over at the Penthouse…
It seems that Marlena had called both Sami and Belle and asked them to wait there for her. As they wait, they form their own whine and moan club about their respective love lives (or the lack thereof). First, Belle tells Sami about her plans to go to Paris and Sami calls her stupid. She is offended as Sami tries to give her advice. Sami says that Shawn is a sucker for any girl with a sob story…first Jan and now “alien girl”. She advises Belle not to run away…but to stand up and fight for her man. Belle says that Sami’s tricks are pathetic and selfish. Sami agrees with her, saying that everytime she falls for a guy, she ends up empty-handed. She tells her that she is now having troubles with Brandon. She cries as she laments losing him and how she blew it by lying over and over. Belle advises her to just be honest with him. Sami says honesty could cost her everything as she has a fantasy sequence about drinking truth serum and telling Brandon about switching the paternity tests. In her fantasy, she tells him that she will take the serum all the time and will NEVER lie to him again. Of course, he blows up and runs to Lexie. Belle returns (after a phone call from Marlena) telling her that she is on her way. Sami doesn’t want to talk about herself anymore and changes the subject to Belle’s leaving. Now it’s Belle’s turn for a fantasy as she imagines the day she leaves for Paris where Shawn stops her from leaving at the airport. Sami says that she can tell that Belle doesn’t really want to go. Marlena comes in, apologizing for being so late and explains that she and John are going to be leaving town for a while. They are going on business and just didn’t want them to worry. (Couldn’t she have told Sami that on the phone?) Sami leaves, telling Belle to think about what she said. After she leaves, Belle tells her mom that Sami is having problems with Brandon…BIG SURPRISE. Marlena starts talking about how she will be gone when Belle leaves and gives her instructions. She tells her that Kate has offered to help her and gives her the name of someone at the Basic Black office in Paris that will help her (they have an office in Paris?) Marlena asks her is she REALLY wants to go and Belle admits she will miss Shawn. John comes home and also gives Belle some instructions about leaving. Belle goes upstairs to make a call…Marlena suspects to Shawn, as she thinks time away from him and Salem will help Belle. Outside, Sami calls Brandon to apologize, but he tells her he doesn’t have time to talk and hangs up on her. Upstairs, Belle calls Shawn and gets the same result. But while he is on the phone with her, he gets another call from his dad, asking him to come to the station first thing in the morning. Shawn is sure Bo has figured out the truth. Back downstairs, John and Marlena talk about Kate’s suspicions about Marlena being the twins’ mother and Marlena is glad they are going to the island ASAP. She thanks John for helping her. He tells her no thanks necessary, she helped him with his past…now it is time to help her. Marlena is sure whatever they find out it will change their future as they hug….and the show ends.

On the Next Days of Our Lives…

Hope sits down her medicine and goes to the kitchen as we see Larry switch the bottles…

Tony tells Rex that he can count on him and the DiMeras…Rex yells that the DiMeras have turned them into freaks…

Cassie tells Belle that what she feels for Shawn is NOT a crush…anymore…

…And the credits roll.

Episode #9491
Taped - 1/20/03
Director - Roger W. Inman

Matt & Missy turn in emotional performances as Jennifer tells Jack of her fears of being pregnant, Brandon & Sami again argue, and Tony has visitors and Hope takes steps to not be a victim again and empower herself (hurray!!).

THE HOSPITAL
Sami is at the nurses station, (still wearing that same dress) as Brandon comes up, coldly asking for some file. She tries to talk to him….he’s busy. He leaves, Roman comes up, asking what room Tony is in. She tells him Tony’s busy with Roman asking if Tony’s “cloning” himself (LOL). Sami gleefully tells him of Kate’s arrival to see Tony, making her usual snide remarks of their relationship. Roman tells her to back off, it’s his business, not hers. She apologizes, not wanting him to get hurt. They go round and round a bit, and Sami admits, in tears, she had a fight with Brandon and is taking it out on her dad. He takes her into his arms to comfort her and she gains confidence in getting Brandon back. She asks about investigation into Colin’s murder, just as Brandon comes up, angry to hear her asking. Roman wonders if Sami has something she has not told him, but goes to visit Tony after Brandon asks to speak with Sami alone about a patient (on the terrace?). On the terrace they once more launch into the same argument about Nicole (yawn). Sami worries Brandon is breaking up with her, he says he could never choose between his sister and Sami, she should not have asked…..she agrees, saying no one could make her choose between Eric and them either. They argue back and forth about her talking to Roman and Nicole. He’s determined that no one will arrest his sister. She admires his devotion to his family and friends. He apologizes for losing his temper and comments sometimes that love isn’t enough. They seemingly call a truce.

Kate arrives in Tony’s room, bearing a lovely vase of red flowers. Tony is sitting up in bed, happy to see her. (amazing for a guy that just had back surgery – but then again, Tony drinks lots of tea made with that Salem water, you know – the miracle cure for everything) They banter a bit (him commenting she’d probably have preferred sending the flowers to his funeral), and Kate tells him, charmingly, to lay off asking questions about her business with Stefano or Raymond Grant. Tony tells her he may be the father of the twins, and explains about the blood match w/Cassie. Kate asks if Marlena is the mother. They dance around that question for a bit, as Roman comes in. He refutes that possibility, eventually asking Kate to leave, as he wants to talk to Tony. He then talks to Tony about the hit and run, the car was reported stolen (convenient, huh?). Tony mentions having saved Brady’s life, and that he was paralyzed a while back…..due to Roman. They banter back and forth a bit, Roman leaves. Next, a man arrives in a business suit. A doctor that Tony had flown in and Dr. Rolf had briefed on his case (uh oh), who says he notified the staff he is taking over the case. (Doesn’t anyone check with the patient?) He evidently does some testing….we see him next remarking that Tony is doing very well, has feeling in his legs. Tony, with his smarmy smile, says things could not be working out better. (hmmm, Tony has a plan ……. to hide his recovery, perhaps??)

Kate is in Marlena’s office, writing a note…that says she is disturbed by something Tony said, and wants to talk to her. Roman walks in, asking Kate what she is doing. (And NOW we know how Larry was able to get Marlena’s prescription pad…..hard to believe that door is not locked). Kate seals the note, leaving it on the desk. Roman asks her to go for coffee. She tells him she doesn’t have time, but he tells her to make time as he’s exactly what she needs right now. He tries to warn her about Tony, her secrets, and that he cannot protect her unless he knows what it is all about. She can’t fight Tony alone and knows where to find him.

JENNIFER’S HOME
Jack & Jennifer are sitting on the sofa, arguing about the story around the investigation of Colin’s murder. Jen, flashing back to her conversation with Bo in his kitchen about the bloody rag, is telling Jack to leave it to the cops. Jack is puzzled, knowing something else has to be going on. Bo calls, telling Jen he took the item to a lab that John recommended, and will let her know results. He apologizes for once more putting her on the spot, as he did before when everyone thought Lexie & Hope were dead. Jen hangs up, evading Jack’s questions about what Bo had to say, talking of what Hope is going through – all the stress building up for her. She flashes back to Hope telling her she killed Colin. Jen is getting very emotional and feeling quesy, as Jack pressures her to tell him what is wrong. She talks of how much she loves him, and finally blurts out that she may be pregnant – with Colin’s baby. She laments over how it was just one time, and she had to keep Colin in that room, that he was going to hunt down and kill Jack, and mentions she has not taken a pregnancy test. Jack asks why, and she says, cuz she doesn’t want it to be true. (Tremendous scenes between these two wonderful actors). She wonders…what if I am…what about Abby? What about you? How do you feel, Jack? He struggles with his emotions, then just says, “I’m sorry Jennifer, I have to go”. Jack takes his coat and goes out the door (hopefully to the drug store for a pregnancy test kit). Jennifer cries. Alone.

BRADY HOME
Hope goes down into the basement and sees Larry again. Bo returns home with Hope’s prescription and calls out her name with no response. He finds her in the basement boxing and kick boxing the punching bag hanging down there. She tells him about signing up for a refresher self defense class to polish up her skills she had on the force. Bo holds the bag, telling her it’s not the way to get rid of Larry. He shows her the pills he picked up that Marlena prescribed, saying this is the way. He holds her close assuring her all will be okay. She admits seeing Larry again, but knows he’s dead. The bag and gloves are part of her recovery. Her recovery has more to do than taking pills and seeing Marlena. She needs to feel less vulnerable and empower herself…she doesn’t want to be a victim again. (Yay! The real Hope surfaces again!!) She teases him (while mock punching him) about the endorphins that will kick in with this too..which he claims to love as he hugs her. She’s determined to do whatever she can to protect herself and come out stronger then she was before. She grabs the bottle and is ready to start her medication now. Later, in the kitchen, she takes her first pill. The phone rings and she picks it up in the kitchen at the same time as Bo does in the living room. It’s the lab. She overhears the technician telling Bo that the blood on the dishtowel he brought in was chicken blood. He thanks the technician and hangs up, relieved. Hope walks in and asks about the towel and if he believes it was her who killed Colin. They wonder who planted the bloody towel in their garbage. Hope remembers having chicken, but Bo said store bought chickens don’t bleed all over the place (thank goodness). She remembers how Shawn took all the chicken innards over to the neighbor's dog and maybe he used the towel and threw it away. Bo will ask him. Hope feels like the pills are starting to kick in and resolves not to keep any more spooky thoughts in her head and will make an appointment with Marlena. She’s going to get well for him and the boys and no one, especially Larry Welch, will stop her.

LARRY
Larry returns to his motel room with his own pills. He’s upset Bo found the bloody towel instead of Hope. Holding and waving his gun around, he has another plan in mind. Bo can’t blame the towel on his..after all, he’s dead and a poor innocent ghost. Taking the pills out of the bag, he plans his next move. He says he has one more move before going to Step 2 and holding the pills, says “Hope honey, you’re going down. Once you take these pills, you’re never going to need a refill. What doesn’t cure you, will kill you”…….

Episode #9490
Taped - various
Director - Mary Madeiras

A slow day in Salem as the WOE IS ME’S attack our Salemites….

Nancy watches Craig trying to build the baby’s crib. (I’m sure many of you can relate with Craig’s trying to build a crib using the instructions given, haha.) WOE IS Nancy as she resents their missing out on these moments when she was pregnant with Chloe and grows agitated, wanting to find out why they were lied to at the hospital back then and who was responsible. Craig convinces her their priority now is curing Chloe and having a healthy new daughter. Nancy agrees to wait for those answers. Later Craig’s making progress on the crib and offers to make her some lemonade. She accepts, but asks him to make hers with milk (ewww). He heads off to make it after reminding her what their priorities are, but she tells herself she can’t rest until she knows WHO lied to them about Chloe. We return to her talking to “daddy” on the phone. She asks him to come visit, but he suggests she come there. She tells him she can’t fly and urges him to come. He suggests after the baby’s born and curious as to her rush to see him, asking if there’s a problem with her marriage. She assures him she just wants to see him and hangs up as Craig returns. She lies, saying she returned a call from Elizabeth in her Lamaz class. Craig can tell Nancy’s rattled and wants to take her blood pressure.

WOE IS Brady as he blames himself for Tony’s getting injured and possibly paralyzed. Chloe calls the hospital for him and Brenda tells her Tony’s out of surgery, but too soon to know if he’s still paralyzed. Chloe cheers Brady up and he tells her he’s never letting her out of his site. Chloe reminds him she’ll be in isolation after the bone marrow transplant, but he vows to be on the other side of the wall on the phone to her until they throw him out. He shows her where he planted a garden (under the snow right now though he says) with her favorite flowers. He suggests they make up an itinerary of things to do in the spring. She talks about a gazebo (he remembers hearing her sing there) and a picnic in the park. He wants to fill her with happy memories to take to the hospital and for them to repeat afterwards. She suggests they start now by reading poetry and drinking hot cocoa. Kiss kiss. Brady claims himself cured (from his concussion) and ready for anything…we return to candles being lit, music (My Destiny) playing as she opens his shirt and starts kissing his chest. He takes her blouse off and we find them on the couch, successfully doing what Belle and Shawn have been scheduling to do for months now.

WOE IS Belle as she tells Shawn she’s going to Paris for a two month design class. Irritated with his not sharing what’s wrong, she accepted the invitation. Rex excuses himself and Cassie for another appointment. Cassie didn’t want to leave, but they head to Marlena’s office after being summoned there. Belle and Shawn talk and he tells her he’s not interested in Cassie. She knows his mood started the night Colin was murdered and angry that he’s not being honest with her and just wants him to tell her not to go. WOE IS Shawn as he tells her how much he’ll miss her and remembers how much nerve he had to work up at the Last Blast before kissing her the first time. They kiss and get heated up as he tells her that he loves her. She asks him to make love to her, but he pulls away and flashes back to shooting Colin again (ok, we GET the idea). He tells Belle to go to Paris if she loves him and she will understand in time. She agrees and will give him his space. Neither agree it’s what they want, but it’s the way it has to be. He remembers talking with Cassie and her warning him not to tell Belle.

The twins arrive at Marlena’s office. She had just told John she summoned them to tell them she couldn’t be their therapist any more in lieu of what they’ve found out. Marlena asks John to leave and tells the twins. WOE IS Cassie as she starts crying and tells Marlena to stop pretending…they’re nothing more then lab rats to her that she discards when done. She tells Marlena she hates her and never wants to see her ever again. Rex urges Cassie to stay and hear Marlena out, but she rushes out. Marlena tells Rex to let Cassie go, but WOE IS Rex as he rants at her for all she’s putting Cassie through. Cassie bumps into John in the lobby and flashes her wrist at him after telling him she hates him and is ALL DiMera now! She rants how everyone but Tony and Lexie have turned on her and Rex. He tries to warn her how dangerous the DiMera’s are and he’s only protecting his family. She reminds him that Tony is his brother and maybe his family needs protection from him too. His wife and daughter are not saints and only out for themselves…at least he (John’s) honest about not liking them. She tells him she hates Marlena and will never forgive her for this.

Marlena tries to explain to Rex. He confides how Cassie’s even keeping secrets from him now. She wants to talk with Cassie about that, but he tells her it’s better if she just stays away and he leaves. John returns to Marlena to check on her. Crying, she feels she betrayed Cassie and Rex’s trust and worries if she is their mother and now has lost their trust. He’s anxious to head to DiMera Island to get the answers he needs. He suggests she have Sami and Will stay with her while he’s gone (oh, that’ll make her life easier, haha) so she won’t be alone. He knows this is a hard time for her. She tells him everything will be fine as she’s decided to go with him. They will find out the answers about the twins births together.

Rex finds Cassie at the dorm and tells her they’re together and everything will be okay. Cassie disagrees, saying she needs Shawn and wants him to love only her. She cracks the door and is happy to hear Belle and Shawn arguing. She hears Shawn telling Belle “goodbye” and confuses it to mean he and Belle are breaking up. Inside Belle cries that Shawn’s like a stranger to her ..either way, she was definitely wrong about them, wasn’t she…as we see

No show was aired due to the coverage of the Columbia memorial service. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2003

Episode #9489
Taped - 1/16/03
Director - Phil Sogard

Summary: Bo works to prove Hope is not the murderer…Sami and Brandon have a fight…Tony obsesses on the twins and going home…John and Marlen discuss the paternity of the twins.

At Brandon’s Pad…
he and Sami argue and she tells him that she is trying to protect him, for she KNOWS he killed Colin. Brandon becomes upset with her and asks why she didn’t just ask him about it instead of trying to frame his sister. As she explains her reason for thinking, he can’t believe what she is saying. She goes on and on about how they are so much alike and that she loves him so much and how he is the best thing that has ever happened to her. (insert same dialogue from the past 2 months here). Brandon informs her that they are NOT alike as he rakes her over the coals for trying to frame Nicole. He says he would NEVER let Nicky take the blame for something HE did. He talks about how Jack confessed to protect Jennifer. Sami says she can’t stand the though of him going to prison for something he didn’t do…especially for Nicole. She begs him to think of their future, not Nicole’s. She asks him if the situation were reversed, would he protect HER? Brandon rails her again, saying that she is impulsive and always makes the wrong decisions and just because she hates her sister (Carrie) it doesn’t mean he hates his. She goes off on how Nicole ruined Eric’s life. Brandon asks if Sami is going to force him to choose between her and his sister. Sami says yes you must. After leaving Jennifer’s house (see below) Nicole returns Brandon’s…just in time (hiding in the hallway) to hear them arguing and Brandon tossing Sami out.

Also at the Hospital…
John and Marlena are in her office (I think) also talking about the twins as she talks about it being her responsibility to protect their interestes. John says that if they find out she is the mother, can she deal with that? John asks her if she WANTS to be their mother. Marlena gets a bit peeved at him, saying she doesn’t want to believe that she gave birth to them and then abandoned them. She asks what if they discover the truth, will HE be able to accept it and them? John asks what if they find out other things, like the twins were created to be DiMera pawns, could she accept that? Marlena says they can’t blame the children for what they are. John says that they don’t know how dangerous they are or what they are capable of. Marlena asks if he wants her to turn her back on the children? She becomes a bit agitated as John tries to explain. He says he fears for her safety as well. They talk about how they think Tony may be manipulating her and John is sure that it is all part of a master plan to get Marlena. She assures him that HE (John) is her husband and the one she wants and Tony can’t undo that. After John gets off the phone with Bo (see below) he is ready to head to the island but Marlena says that she can’t go right now, Hope and Belle both need her. John says that Tony isn’t going anywhere, so they can wait until she is ready.

Over at Jennifer’s…
With a kiss, Jack thanks Alice for her advice. She says that Jack and Jen remind her of herself and Tom. Someone starts clanging on the doorbell as Jack goes to find a drunk Nicole. She is furious with him for teaming up with Sami and calls him an underhanded bastard. After Jack helps Alice upstairs, he and Nicole exchange insults and barbs. He needles her as she berates him. All of a sudden, Jack says he thinks he has figured it all out and knows who did it. Nicole forces him to spill his guts and warns him, it had better not be HER. Jack says that Sami is trying to frame Nicole to protect someone else…Brandon. Nicole erupts, defending Brandon but Jack reminds her of how Brandon almost killed Austin in the boxing ring. Jack then turns the tables on Nicole, pointing out HER motives, talking about her sleeping with Colin and being blackmailed. Nicole says, like on ‘Law & Order’, who dunnit is NEVER who you think.

Jennifer returns (from Bo and Hope’s…see below) and warns Jen if she is in cahoots with Jack, and they are trying to frame her, she will shut the Spectator down, then stumbles out the door. Jack apologizes to Alice for having to witness all that. Alice can see that Jen is upset and they hug. After Alice leaves, Jen tries to convince Jack to drop the whole murder investigation story. She says she can’t handle it.

At the Brady House…
Bo sneaks in the back door with the bloody rag, bags it and hides it in a kitchen drawer. As he heads into the living room, he overhears Hope confessing to murder to Jen. He goes in and stops her, saying that she could NOT have done it. He tells her that he talked to Davis (Victor’s driver) and said that there was no blood on her that night and she didn’t have a gun. She thinks she could have hidden it. She and Bo both keep trying to prove each other’s case as Jen is very uncomfortable and offers to go and make tea. Bo takes off after her but it’s too late, when he gets there, she has already found the bloody rag. (Sure, EVERYONE keeps their tea and their bloody rags in the same drawer). Bo asks Jen not to mention it and tells her where and how he found it. He decides not to tell Hope and asks Jen to keep quiet as well. When Hope comes in, he hides it. Jen says she isn’t feeling well and decides to head home. Hope follows her to the living room to see if she is okay. There, Jen admits to Hope that she has NOT seen a doctor yet, nor has she even taken a pregnancy test. She frets over having to tell Jack.

After Jen leaves, Bo and Hope have tea and snuggle on the sofa. She talks about how she is feeling better and has decided to rip the “victim” sign off and throw it away. Bo wants to go and get her prescription filled (even though she says she doesn’t need it). When he gets outside, he calls John to ask about an emergency lab to have something tested. Alone, Hope begins to have flashbacks of being held by Larry and fighting with him. She pulls out a flyer about self defense and decides it’s time to prepare herself.

Meanwhile, Larry has been busy as well. He is back at the hotel cleaning his face as he damns Bo for returning so early. He mutters about Plan B. Later, he is reading a book about mental disorders, reading up on post traumatic syndrome. In the front of the book, he finds Marlena’s name and thanks her for her advice. Later, he is practicing Marlena’s signature and pulls out a prescription pad and asks “What were you thinking Dr. Evans?” He says he is writing a prescription for death…for Bo and Hope Brady.

At the Hospital…
An agitated Tony is visited by Lexie. He is ready to go home, worried about the twins. Tony is upset that if they really are his children that Stefano kept it from him. Lexie asks how he could let them both go through all that suffering (as she has a long series of flashbacks of kidnapping Isaac and then discovering that Stefano was responsible for the baby switch in the beginning). She tells Tony that even though she loved “father”, at times she is relieved he is gone. She asks Tony point blank if he is really gone this time. Rolf wanders up to hear them talking just as Lexie offers to go and get take out for them from Tuscany (I guess poor Abe will have to fend for himself, huh?) After she leaves, Rolf goes in and Tony immediately begins to threaten him. He accuses him of knowing all along that the twins were his and Rolf denies it. After a few physical threats, Rolf is visibly shaken. Tony asks what else he has lied about, what at the plans for Cassie and Rex and most importantly, WHO is their MOTHER? Rolf assures him that he doesn’t know of the twins’ paternity and Tony asks what they are trained to do…even murder? Tony wants them to lead normal lives and says if they are ever used for nefarious purposes, Rolf will pay the ultimate price. With that (while shaking in his boots) Rolf leaves.

Lexie returns with their take-out from Tuscany as a restless and agitated Tony wants to just go home. He begs Lexie to do a test for him. He asks her to stick him in the foot with a pin to see if he has any reaction to pain. (Actually, I’d like to stick him somewhere else…since he is being such a pain in the ass!) She does as he asks and he feels it. Both laugh excitedly as it fades to black.

On the Next Days of Our Lives…

Shawn (to Belle): So you are really going to go? Belle: Is there any reason I shouldn’t?

Cassie (to John): I hate Marlena for lying to me…I will always hate her…I’ll never forgive her!

Rex (to Marlena): Do you know what you have done? Do you have any idea of the hell you are putting her through?

…and the credits roll.

Episode # 9497
Tape Date: Various
Director: Randy Robbins

Summary: Mimi works to get Belle and Shawn back together…Lexie lays down the law to Brandon…Hope continues to be haunted by dreams of Larry…The sewer rat makes himself at home.

At the Cop Shop…
Bo and Roman discuss the case as Roman informs Bo that there are many on the force that does NOT believe that Larry is alive, that Bo is only trying to divert attention from the real killer. Bo vows to find Larry and makes an pronouncement…that he’ll throw him in prison and that will prove he IS alive! (Ya think?…LOL). Abe is in his office as Sami barges in, telling him that Lexie needs him NOW. She explains that she has learned that Larry may still be alive and tries to persuade Abe that Larry may come after her. Abe gets a call from a cop (they are watching Abe’s house too) telling him that Brandon Walker is there and Abe high-tails it out of there.

Over at the Carver House…
Brandon drops by (unannounced) and Lexie doesn’t exactly roll out the Welcome Wagon for him. He tells her that he has decided to respect her wishes and is going to lay off Abe. She is okay with that but isn’t happy with his just dropping by. She hopes that they can be friends again and asks him how Sami will feel about all this. Brandon says she will just have to accept it because he and Lexie have a “connection”. She doesn’t like the way he said that OR the way he looked down at her belly when he did. She tells him that he has NO connection with her baby. Abe comes in asking what is going on. Saying that he won’t bother them anymore, Brandon leaves. Abe asks Lexie what he wanted and she tells him that Brandon told her that he is going to knock off the “I hate Abe” routine, but Abe doesn’t believe him. He goes on and on about how he has tried with Brandon and he should get over it and quit blaming him for his dad’s behavior and his mother falling in love with him. Lexie stops him, wanting to change the subject, so Abe pulls out a Valentine’s gift for her. It’s a heart shaped ring with a place in the center for the baby’s birthstone. She feels bad because she has nothing for him, but he tells her that in a few months, she will give him the greatest gift of all.

At Brandon’s Place…
Sami drops by later, asking how it went with Lexie. He tells her what he told Lexie and Sami is impressed. Brandon asks why she is there and to stop pushing him. He can’t promise that he won’t see Lexie again and Sami asks where does that leave THEM? While they are talking, Lexie calls, telling Brandon to leave her alone. The baby is NOT his and for him to stay away, he is not welcome at her house. Sami isn’t thrilled to learn that was Lexie on the phone and he asks her to leave. But Sami turns on the charm (or should I say she turns on BRANDON?) They kiss and he forgets all about Lexie…for the moment.

At the Hartley House…
Shawn apologizes to Mimi and she urges him to work it out with Belle. She says she loves both of them and they hug. Belle and Rex come in and she asks what is going on. Shawn leaves and then Belle tells Mimi and Rex that she has packing to do. Outside, Mimi enlists Rex’s help…they have work to do before Belle leaves. (Too cute how she yanks him away). Later, Mimi and Belle arrive at Lookout Point as Mimi tells her that she has a gift for her. Shawn and Rex pull up in the jalopy as Belle realizes what Meems is up to. Mimi honks her horn as Rex takes off, leaving Belle and Shawn alone. He offers her a ride back and realizes that Rex swiped his keys. Belle chatters about the snowman they built last year as Shawn pops another pill. (Cant’ say I blame him there…LOL). Shawn tells her that they can’t go back in time as he grabs her and starts shaking her, telling her to stop loving him. Belle is rattled and can see that there is something terribly wrong. He tells her about Larry and she goes to hug him. But he pushes her away, yelling that Larry has got to die. Belle becomes frightened of him and runs away. Later, she has walked back to the dorm and Rex comes by. She tells him that she is furious with him and Mimi for what they did and about how Shawn scared her. Mimi goes to see Shawn and he is upset with her as well. He tells her about Belle running off and she apologizes. She gives him his keys as he breaks down, telling Mimi that he has lost Belle. Mimi has trouble understanding what he is blubbering about and he tells her to stay away from him. She sees his hands trembling as he tells her to just leave.

At the Brady House…
Hope is asleep on the sofa when there is a knock at the door. She opens it to find someone holding a bouquet of roses and Bo’s voice saying “Happy Valentine’s Day Fancy Face”. He lowers them and we see it’s Larry. He barges on in, taunting her. He pulls out a gun and tells her that he is alive and real. He says that she is his…for life as he kisses her after asking her to be his valentine (creepy). Bo rushes in, yelling for him to let her go as Larry turns and shoots him. Yes, it is all a dream…as Hope awakens to find Bo there with her. She tells him about the dream and says that Larry was right…he will always be with her and will never go away…as Bo holds her tight. We see Larry in the sewers drawing on a map as the other rats squeak. He says that it’s time this sewer rat pays a visit to the happy home. Bo tries to calm Hope’s fears, telling her if she going to beat this, she must keep the faith and keep fighting, but she is scared and not sure if she can. Bo has an idea.

Later, Roman drops by (Bo had called him over) and he assures them that he will take care of things while they are gone. Hope is surprised to learn that Bo has made arrangements for them to go to Green Mountain Lodge for a few days. He has even invited Doug and Julie along (to watch after Zack). After Roman leaves, Hope thanks him for looking out after her. Outside, Roman talks to one of the cops as Larry listens from below. After Roman leaves, the sewer rat crawls out of his (man)hole, saying “Honey, I’m Home”. Bo calls Shawn to tell him they are leaving and Shawn assures him he will be okay. As Hope takes the phone to talk to him, we see Larry in the basement listening through the furnace pipes. Bo hurries her along, telling her that Doug and Julie are waiting. Downstairs, Larry smiles, saying “While you are gone Mr. & Mrs. … (memories of the old ‘Hazel’ show…LOL)…I’ll be doing a little house keeping. When you come back, your home will be your own private HELL!”…Fade to Black.

On the Next Days of Our Lives…

Jenn opens the door to find Abby (dressed as Cupid) saying “Gotcha!…right in the heart”…

Shawn is telling Alice that Belle is leaving. She urges him to hurry…and to tell her how he feels….

Belle: I know that he loved me once…I couldn’t have been wrong about that…

As Hope is holding a heart-shaped box, Bo yells at her “Don’t Open That!”…

…and the credits roll

Episode #9496
Taped 1/27/03
Director - Herb Stein

Shawn grows more agitated, Larry Welch finds shelter with other rats, Roman and Kate get closer, Tony's home and in charge while John and Marlena find more evidence before calling it a night.

HARTLEY HOUSE
Shawn has his hourly flashback of Colin in the snow and pops another of Hope’s pills. Mimi sees him and asks about it, saying taking pills w/o water make her gag and asks what they are he’s taking. He tells her pain med for his hand. She pulls him into Belle’s room, shocked by the broken window. She urges him to tell Belle not to leave and recognize how much Belle means to him and talk to her. Mimi then encourages Shawn to tell her all, explaining she’s now a second semester psych student and has more training (love that Meems). He tells her about Hope’s hallucinating and how Larry Welch is still alive before mentioning he’s not suppose to tell anyone that. She assures him Bo will put Larry away, but Shawn just gets more agitated and wonders why it (the second pill) isn’t working. When Mimi asks what he means, he tells her (and Belle) to butt out and leaves.

STORM DRAIN
Larry Welch lurks in the storm drains of Salem with the rest of the rats. Upset Hope didn’t get the pills he planted, he knows her “bad boy” took them and will be a nervous wreck and drive his mother over the edge for him. Later he eats pasta or soup out of a disposable container and tosses the rest to the rats, impersonating Arnold with his “I’ll be back” line, haha. He returns later giving credit to the Salem PD for being smarter than he thought, but claims Hope won’t be safe in her fortress surrounded by cops. He leaves to return again with his I LOVE SALEM bag (did he steal Cassies?) and opens his blueprints for Bo and Hope’s destruction.

COP SHOP
Kate and Roman talk in good old Abe’s office (where IS Abe?). He convinces her that although at first his investigation was business, it’s now personal. He promises to never hurt her. He reflects over how Stefano stole years of his life from being with his wife and kids and how long it took for him to recover. He wasn’t there to help raise the kids and made mistakes when he did return by not disciplining them enough, especially Sami.(poor Eric, out of sight, out of mind). Sami is smart and should have gone to college. His daughter’s selfish and hard headed, but is very precious to him and he loves her. Kate understands that and can live with that. Roman’s grateful and counting his blessings for what he does have and offers Kate his help. He doesn’t want secrets to come between them and they’d be stronger if they join forces. She agrees and he asks what the bastard (Stefano) did to her. Crying, she still can’t tell him and cries on his shoulder when an officer interrupts as there’s a break in the Murphy investigation. Roman steps to the outer office to find out more.

DIMANSION
Tony is home and sitting in the parlor. He struggles to his feet and Lexie arrives to find him standing. She urges him to take it slow and asks where the doctor went, but Tony refuses. He tells her all the doctor did was talk on his phone and drink his wine, so he fired him. Calling Craig Wesley an idiot for wanting him to lie on the couch for weeks and grow weak, he takes a couple steps. Bart rushes in to tell Tony about the Salem PD putting out an APB for Larry Welch who’s still alive. Tony orders Bart to get their men out and find Welch before the PD does..reminding him what happened when Colin didn’t succeed . Bart jokes about the motivation Tony uses, LOL and leaves. Tony is determined he’ll pay for what he did to his sister, with his life. Later, after Tony walks across the room slowly with Lexie watching like a hawk, Bart returns to tell Tony the traps out for the rat out there and they’ll bring him to the big cheese and they’re on his tail, proud of his own whit. Tony asks Bart if his bags are packed, surprising Lexie that Tony’s going somewhere. All he’ll tell her is she isn’t going with him (when she asks to), but when he returns, he’ll be bringing home Cassie and Rex’s mother.

DIMERA ISLAND
Marlena finds a pink bootie in a drawer while John finds a book on genetic engineering. Marlena asks him how he would feel if he were told to be afraid of his children as they talk about the situation again. He suggests they need a good night’s sleep and hand in hand, they wander from the dreary secret room. We find them later in another boring room, this time the bedroom, with a chess set on a table (Stefano’s decorators must have ordered them by the dozens). John notices the queen is missing while sweeping for bugs with his little gadget. Not mentioning it to Marlena, she also notices it and remembers Stefano calling her his queen of the night. She WANTS ANSWERS as does John. She finally climbs into bed and instantly falls asleep hearing SLEEP MARLENA SLEEP in her head. John, now bare-chested, climbs into bed surprised, but happy to find her asleep so quickly as he lies on his back to think.

BRADY HOME
We return to Hope’s dream about seeing the Colin/Larry morph and Shawn through the window holding the gun. The phone rings next to her, but it doesn’t wake her up (a sound sleeper our Hope, good thing Zack is with the grandparents), but a cop pounding on the door does. She opens the door to the squad cars radio blaring and lights still flashing, asking if he’s there to arrest her. He tells her he’s there to protect her as Bo arrives and asks why she didn’t answer the phone. Hope tells him she had a dream, but can’t remember it as she takes her uneaten sandwich back to the kitchen (hey, Bo might like it). She asks why the cops are all around and he explains. Hope’s scared, but relieved (wouldn’t it be smarter to have cops hidden so if Larry returned they could catch him??) Bo tells Hope that he thinks Larry killed Colin. Shawn walks in behind them and thinks they’re talking about him until Bo explains. Shawn gets agitated and Hope kids he brought home dirty laundry for her to do. Telling her no, he heads to the basement for some weights he came home for. Hope starts to go after him, but Bo tells her he’ll handle it and finds Shawn threw some things around and now punching the bag. His hand is bleeding again and Bo calms him down promising to find Larry. Right now he has to focus on that and on Hope without having to worry about Shawn too. Shawn agrees and slips out the back door to leave, saying he’ll rebandage his hand at the dorm. Bo returns to Hope and although they’re both worried about Shawn, know he’s a tough kid. Hope apologizes for what’s happening, but looking her in the eyes, Bo tells her taking care of her and the boys is his life and he WILL find Larry Welch!

Later, Roman calls to tell Bo about a lead in the Murphy murder case. Techs found some parts of an onyx tux stud in the debris. Bo asks Hope if Larry was wearing a tux when she saw him that night and she thinks so. Hoping it will be a clue to a rental tux place that Larry rented, he leaves to go to the cop shop and tells her to ask a cop if she needs anything.

PREVIEWS FOR TOMORROW
Shawn shakes Belle, telling her to stop loving him…
Lexie tells Brandon that he has no connection to her child
Hope opens the door to see red roses being held up by someone in a black leather jacket..thinking it’s Bo..but Larry Welch lowers the roses to show his face
Bo tells Roman that putting Larry Welch in prison will show he’s still alive ….

As the credits roll…

Episode #9495
Taped 1/24/03
Director - Phil Sogard

Salemites gather at the hospital for various reasons, as Lucas surprises Sami & Shawn continues his downward plunge. Meanwhile, the Salem P.D. are hot on the trail of Larry Welch, who goes underground, literally.

HARTLEY HOUSE
Belle is finishing up packing for her trip, with too many clothes, not enough room. Cassie runs into Shawn downstairs as she is bringing more luggage. He complains he is even more nervous, but she insists the pill probably hasn't kicked in yet. (Didn't he take it yesterday?) They go up to Belle's room, and Cassie leaves. Shawn gets a call from his dad, flies off the handle at learning Larry W. is really alive, and hangs up on his dad. Belle leaves to get laundry, Shawn moves restlessly around the room, eventually putting his fist thru the window. Belle comes in, shocked, and insists they go to hospital, as he needs stitches.

DEW DROP INN
Bo is outside, gun drawn, and outside one door, says "Delivery for Larry Welch". ( Huh? Would Larry be using his real name?) He kicks the door down, but the place is as clean as a whistle. Larry has skedaddled, as Bo realizes, when he finds the open window. Roman comes in, wanting to know what is going on. (Now, WHY has Roman showed up?) Bo tells Roman about his suspicions that Larry may be alive, tells about the planted bloody towel which was really chicken blood, about Hope's visions, and how the last time the Larry ghost turned and ran…..instead of just dissipating. He adds the match book which led him to the motel. Roman wants to know why Bo did not tell him, as this was police business…but Bo retaliates "for the same reason you kept quiet about Sami taking your gun…..until you had checked it out". Roman has no answer for this (neither do we).The room is scrubbed clean with no fingerprints anywhere. They get the manager in, who claims the man who rented the room a couple weeks ago had long blond hair and a mustache. He cannot I.D. Larry's pic, but Bo is getting an artist to come in and modify the pic. Roman tells Bo he is going to call Shane and see if he can come up with a Larry/Colin connection.

SALEM HOSPITAL
Craig is drawing blood from Chloe, while Brady stands by. (Hey, he shaved off the fuzz! Lookin' good!) Chloe is rather down in the mouth, as Craig tries to reassure her about her upcoming bone marrow transplant. Craig leaves, and Chloe brings out her "to do" list, things she wants to do b/4 being confined in isolation. #1 is saying goodbye to certain people, and another is to sing her favorite arias from a stage. They kibbitz back and forth a bit about it.

Sami comes in, getting stopped by Lucas, who informs Scami (lolol - a reference to scheming Sami) he has a lot of work for her. She objects, but he tells her he is in charge of entire hospital clerical dept. and that includes her. Brenda comes along, backing up Mr. Roberts, much to Sami's chagrin. Kate comes by, looking for a number to reach Marlena, but Sami says she was only told to contact Marlena's asst. Lucas teases Sami about "Studly" not being around, and tells Sami he wants the files of all patients in the past two years who did not have insurance. She says she is going on break, and Lucas replies, yeah, he heard she is ALWAYS on break. ROTFL! Brenda says to follow Mr. Roberts' orders first.

Nicole arrives, (I swear she is wearing that ostrich coat) w/sunglasses. Brandon stops her, hurries her onto the terrace. He admonishes her about her drinking (thus the sunglasses) and being hung over. He asks how things are going, and she says she is Cinderella. He asks if Victor is Prince Charming. OR, speaking of fairy tales, is he more like the Beast, with Nik being the Beauty. They argue, & Nicole finally admits Victor knows of her affair w/Colin, & that Colin cashed her $5 million dollar check, saying she is glad he is dead. Brandon asks if she killed Colin, but says Victor would have had a reason to do so. She tells him to dump loser Sami. They argue more, with Nicole saying how screwed up they both are due to their parents, but at least she admits it. Brandon wants to know if she thinks she is in danger from Victor. Kate comes out on the terrace, and both Nicole and Brandon go back inside. Kate calls Roman, telling him she wants to see him right away, and is coming to the police station.

Belle arrives with Shawn, who is taken into emergency by Craig, who notes his pulse is racing and asks if he is on any meds. Shawn evades answering, but Craig says the anesthetic might cause a reaction if Shawn is taking anything….so our hero gets his stitches w/o any. He leaves, and runs into Brady & Chloe, who good naturedly tease him about hurting himself. He blows up at them both, shocking them.(Shawn is on a rampage with everyone, it seems). Cassie comes up, and he tells her he is no calmer, he is more upset than ever. Meanwhile, Belle & Chloe bid adieu, as Belle is leaving tomorrow. They hug. Belle says good bye to Shawn, flashing back for a second to their breaking up.

Meanwhile, Sami returns with the boxes of files to give to Lucas. She then is tempted to go listen to Brandon & Nicole on the terrace, via the intercom, but changes her mind. She goes out to a stairwell, where Belle finds her. They both talk of their boyfriend problems, with Sami once again warning Belle not to go to Paris, leaving Shawn in the clutches of "Miss E.T." They moan about guys needing their "space" and Sami then talks of her mother, and how this guy follows her around like a puppy dog. (JOHN?? GMAB!) Belle retorts that Sami should not talk of her father that way, that John & Marlena have a wonderful, loving relationship and are partners in every way. Sami sighs, she is sorry, just thinking of her own lonely dad, who is dating that slut, Kate. Belle blows up, telling Sami to stop the name calling and not talk about their parents any more.

Cassie arrives, looking for Dr. Griffith, who is to have a therapy session with her and Rex. Brenda says he has not arrived yet, so Cassie asks after Shawn, but Brenda has not seen him. Says if he came in for stitches, is probably in emergency. Kate comes by, bumps into Cassie and introduces herself. She mentions Tony maybe being Cassie's dad, and Cassie comes back with wanting Marlena to be their mother, but she doesn't want to, and she hates her.Kate tells her how she lost her own two children, being told they were dead, and how wonderful to have found them again. Cassie leaves, & Lucas tells Kate he overheard some of that. Knows how upset she gets when she thinks of her lost time with Austin & Billie. Kate leaves, sits on a couch for a bit, then goes out to the terrace. (See above) Sami bumps into Brandon, wanting to talk, but he says he has to talk to Lexie first. Lucas stops her next, saying he wants her to deliver all those files to his apt. tonight! LOL (he sure is giving it to her)

UNDERGROUND
LARRY, meanwhile, has entered into the dank, Salem sewers, damning Bo and threatening Hope. He gloats that no one knows about him, but he knows what they are up to. He talks about the pills, deciding that if Shawn starts taking them, Hope will be watching her son self-destruct, while accusing herself of murdering Colin. He smiles.

Bo comes into the office to talk to Roman, saying he is going to have to tell Hope. (about time, Bo) and hopes she can handle the fact that Larry Welch is coming after her again.

And the previews………..

Roman to Kate - You said you're ready to talk. Did you mean it?

Marlena to John - How would you feel, if you were me, and someone was trying to persuade you that you should be afraid of your children?

Hope, opening door to a cop, and flashing lights - My God, you're here to arrest me, aren't you?

Mimi tells Shawn - you need to tell her not to go to Paris. Shawn explodes back, telling her to shut the hell up, you don't know what your're talking about. And the credits roll.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 11, 2003

Episode # 9494
Tape Date: Various
Director: Roger Inman

Good show today as Bo gets a clue and follows up on it, Marlena remembers more on the island, Jen takes the pregnancy test and gets the results.

On DiMera Island
We join John comforting Marlena under the ocean painting on DiMera Island. She remembers singing Rock a Bye Baby as a male voice tells her she did the right thing and won’t regret it as she starts crying. She tells John what she remembered and he asks what she wouldn’t regret and who was it? She tells him Stefano. Remembering singing again, she gasps remembering singing a lullabye when Stefano told her that. She knows he meant the twins. She can’t prove it, but she feels it in her heart that she’s their mother and abandoned them. Hand in hand he opens the secret passageway to the hidden room. She has the same sensations she had the last time she was in that room, but can’t remember anything. He looks at the book titles in the bookshelf and pulls out one called Madness something or other as another doorway opens up. He shields her from walking into the room alone as she looks in and says it’s happening, she remembers. The room is full of surgical equipment (check the dates on that equipment…wonder if Rolf just planted them there???) John tells her there’s no proof she’s the twins mother and even if she is, they stopped being her children a long time ago. He argues about how dangerous those kids are now, but she feels they’re Stefano’s pawns as much as she and John were. He refuses to let those twins hurt her or Belle. She questions how he’ll feel if she is their mother and the other half of them is DiMera, knowing they’ll never see eye to eye on it. Holding her, he said nothing will ever divide them, that’s what Stefano wanted.

Back in Salem..where it’s afternoon everywhere but the Deveraux’s, haha
At the cop shop
Bo wonders if Larry’s still alive as Hope returns back into his (Abe’s) office, concerned seeing him look upset. He tells her to go home and relax. He wants an officer to drive her home (saying it’s due to the medication she’s on, even though she tells him she stopped taking them). She finally agrees and he orders round the clock protection for his family after Hope leaves.

It’s still morning at Jen’s home (even though the clock says 4:20, haha) as Jennifer stares at the pregnancy test. Jack joins her and they start to open the box when Abby comes downstairs as she starts to open it. She hides it in a drawer so Abby won’t see it. Abby sees the suitcases and is happy Jack’s moving back in. He tells her he promises to never leave his girls again. He sees Abby off to her bus for school. Jen’s in a daze and apologizes for not telling him that Abby’s teacher called yesterday saying Abby had a talent for writing. She writes poems and reads them for the class. The teacher raved about one Abby wrote about a Golden Retriever named Clover. They laugh wondering if they’re being set up to buy her a dog and Jen replied “woof woof”, LOL. (hey, we need a dog in Salem!!) Jack’s anxious to hear more about what the teacher said and Jen tells him that Abby takes after him as he’s the wordsmith in the family. She also gets her wit from him. He tells her that Abby gets her kindness, strength and courage from her mom.

Meanwhile, it’s afternoon at the Brady home as
Shawn picks up the prescription Hope threw in the trash earlier. (FYI: The Early Edition followed up on this. The pharmacist said the best way to dispose of unused/expired medicine was to flush pills down the toilet....even in a metropolitan sewer system. The quantity would have to be huge for even a minimal effect. NEVER throw pills away in their container. ...we realize in this case it proved useful for the storyline and goes to show how dangerous this disposal method is). Larry watches from behind the fence and gets angry, saying those pills were meant for Hope. Cassie suggests he take one to feel better. Shawn resists. She asks if he has second thoughts about not telling Belle what’s going on, but he only can wonder why his mother threw the pills away. It must have been a mistake. Hope walks up (after returning from the cop shop) and Shawn shows her the pills. Hope tells him she threw them away and doesn’t need them anymore as all she needs is his dad and her two sons. Cassie and Larry both lurk nearby eavesdropping. Throwing the pills to Shawn, she tells him to bury them. Inside the kitchen, Hope grabs a tea bag from her canister as Larry lurks outside her door (she doesn’t see him) saying she needs more than tea and sympathy. She turns and sees Larry through the door and drops the cup she just put her tea bag in. It shatters on the floor.

Bo follows up with the officer that drove Hope home. Angered that the officer left Hope home alone being Shawn was there, he grabs his coat to head home. Meanwhile, Shawn vents to Cassie that he’s the reason another man is dead as Bo walks up overhearing. He asks what Shawn meant. Shawn tells him how he and Belle went out onto the terrace that night and can’t remember if he saw anything. He’s been on edge since then. Bo asks Cassie to give them a minute. She walks away and Bo tells Shawn something he might not like. He tells Shawn he suspects Larry Welch is still alive and might try to kidnap Hope again. (I really think the Brady’s need a home security system, don’t you?) Shawn gets angry and heads toward the house. Bo tells him he doesn’t want Hope to know until he has solid proof. He wants Shawn to act normal and is having someone guard Hope, Zack and him.

Inside Hope remembers seeing Larry morph into Colin in the snow. She pulls out a book out of her drawer and Larry watches, saying who needs the pills, Hope’s going over the edge without him. Inside the kitchen, Hope comments out loud that she wants to write down whatever she can remember as Cassie walks in (without knocking even) asking if she can remember what? She helps Hope pick up the broken cup as they talk about Tony maybe being Cassie’s father. Cassie senses it’s true. She gives a couple bottles of water to Cassie for her and Shawn and she leaves. She’s determined to remember what happened the night Colin was murdered.

Cassie returns to Shawn with the bottled water. Cassie assures him his mother was fine in the kitchen, but he gets upset saying it’s happening all over again. She opens the pills he flung and insists he take one, so he does.

Later Jen takes the pregnancy test and returns to Jack in the living room, looking solemn. She tells him she has the results. Jack assures her either way, they’ll be fine. She tells him the results are NEGATIVE…she’s NOT pregnant (THANK GOODNESS!!!!!) Relieved, she thanks him for his strength and standing by her. The phone rings as they go to kiss. It’s Bo. He needs her help. He tells her about the towel having chicken blood on it and figures it was planted. She asks who he thinks would do that and he tells her he’ll explain it later to her..but thinks Larry Welch is still alive. Jen hangs up and tells Jack everything (YES!) She tells him they cannot tell or print any of this. He’s more worried about her family and how they must protect them. She hugs him and tells him she loves him. He tells her he loves her too.

Hope takes her tea and a sandwich into the living room and starts writing down what’s real and what’s in her head. Later we return to Hope and her uneaten sandwich (darn!) as she’s asleep on the couch remembering NY Eve night standing there seeing Larry morph into a bloody Colin on the snow..but then sees Shawn as well.

Larry returns to his room at the Dew Drop Inn, angry how things are not going the way he meant them to. He was just about to drive Hope over the edge when “Alien Barbie” shows up (LOL!) He’s determined to not give up! Outside in his back yard, Bo finds a match book for the Dew Drop Inn out back and knowing he found a clue, says GOT YA! Later he walks around the Dew Drop Inn and gun in hand…calls out “Delivery for Larry Welch” then kicks open Larry’s door…..

Previews for tomorrow…

Episode # 9493
Tape Date: 1/22/03
Director: Herb Stein

Summary: John and Marlena arrive on DiMera Island…Hope sees Larry in a different way…Roman reaches out to Kate…Cassie rubs Belle’s nose in the fact that Shawn confided in her…Tony is anxious to get out of the hospital.

On DiMera Island…
John and Marlena arrive at the compound and begin to snoop around. She is a bit shaken, but John assures her that she will be okay. They investigate as John is sure that someone is watching them. Marlena is once again drawn to the painting of the ocean. She is a bit afraid of what they may find there. John assures her that she had no power over what happened to her when she was there, reminding her that she was drugged and frightened. She asks what if they find out she gave birth to the twins and then gave them to Stefano to raise. She continues to keep her eyes on the seascape, saying that when she was there, the sound of the ocean was she remembers and how it calmed her. She remembers having feelings but can’t remember what. John asks if she is okay and she remembers that it wasn’t fear…it was an overwhelming grief that she felt. She asks, was it because she gave up the children? John holds her and comforts her as she begins to cry and says the feeling is so strong it is breaking her heart. She refuses to leave the painting and begins to have the flashbacks of the white room as she sings “Rock a-bye Baby” then hears a voice telling her that she did the right thing and will not regret it. In real time, the tears are flowing freely as she tells John. He asks her “regret what?”

At the Hospital..
Craig and Dr. Ash are in with Tony as he is very anxious to get out of there, almost demanding to be released that very day. The doctors leave as Tony complains to Rex that Craig is being too cautious. Rex agrees with Craig and Tony goes on about how Rex always gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. He calls him an independent thinker and promises that they will all make up for lost time when he gets home. Rex acts a bit cold towards Tony, telling him not to worry about him, it is Cassie that is desperate for love and family. Tony says that they can count on him and the DiMeras. Rex yells at him saying that the Dimeras are the same ones who locked them up and turned them into freaks. Tony agrees that what Stefano did was wrong and promises to give them as normal life as possible. Rex tells him to only worry about Cassie. Dr. Ash returns as Rex heads for school. Tony wants out of the hospital NOW and tells Ash to make it happen. Later, Craig returns and releases him against his better judgement. Tony gets a call from Rolf, who informs him that John and Marlena are at the compound. He says that they are right on time and just too predictable as he chuckles.

In the Lobby…
Belle offers Cassie a ride back to school, giving her a chance to talk to her about Shawn. Back at the dorm, Cassie is chattering on and on as Belle stops her, wanting to talk. She asks her to leave Shawn alone while she is gone. Cassie promises to be there for him, for SHE isn’t going anywhere, unlike Belle. Belle says that Cassie has had a crush on Shawn from the beginning but Cassie says it isn’t a crush…anymore. She says they are close for they have shared SO much and refers to him as her “best friend”. Belle asks if Shawn has told her what is going on with him right now and she says yes. Belle asks her to leave. Outside, Cassie says be careful about asking for honesty…you may learn things you don’t like. Later, Rex drops by to visit with Belle, asking about Cassie. Belle is sure that she is where ever Shawn is. Seeing that she is upset, Rex goes over and hugs her.

At Basic Black…
Kate wakes up in John’s office (head on his desk) to find Roman sitting across from her. She is furious with him for locking her in there with him. He promises to let her out if she tells him what she knows about Stefano. She refuses and only wants a toothbrush and coffee. Roman refuses to leave her alone and is not giving up. They argue back and forth, with her saying that he was only using her for information. He admits yes, at first, but ended up falling for her. She doesn’t believe him as they toss zingers back and forth. I think she got the best one in when she said that he “would unzip for anything in a dress” (LOL). He says that Marlena was wrong about her and she accuses him of trying to make Marlena jealous, which he denies. He says yes, he talked to Marlena (as a friend) about her. She tells him to leave her alone and he says if that is what she wants he will. He goes to unlock the door, telling her he is NOT giving up, she needs to trust someone. She turns, with tears in her eyes.

At the Cop Shop…
Shawn arrives to meet with Bo and steps into his office and sees his name on the suspect board, rattling him. Bo walks up and startles him, with Shawn nearly jumping out of his skin. Bo calms him down, explaining it is routine to list everyone that was there. Bo begins to question Shawn about the dish towel (but never mentions the blood on it). He quickly learns that Shawn doesn’t know anything about it and Bo talks about how Hope has been forgetting things lately. Shawn begs Bo to take himself off the case, but Bo refuses, vowing to catch the killer. Bo sees how jumpy and nervous Shawn is and he tries to leave. Bo tries to talk to him, but Shawn rushes off. Cassie calls him and he tells her that he MUST confess what he did. She tells him to come and pick her up at the dorm. After he leaves, we see Bo standing in the doorway. Did he hear any of the conversation?

At the Brady House…
Hope returns from a run (as Larry is watching) and goes inside and looks at the pills. She decides she needs to eat something first and heads to the kitchen. Larry rushes in and switches the bottles. Hope returns and notices that the bottle seems to have more pills in it than before. She sees the door is cracked and goes over. She opens it to find Larry standing there. He taunts her and tells her that she must confess to murder as she covers her ears. She lurches for him and he runs away. She goes back inside and ponders taking the pills until she realizes that unlike before (where he vanished), THIS time Larry RAN away. She goes outside and looks around, then tosses the bottle of pills in the garbage can.

Shawn and Cassie arrive but he sees that Hope’s car is gone. He talks about her strange behavior lately and how scared she is. He blames himself and kicks the garbage can, the pill bottle falling out. Cassie asks what they are and he says some kind of tranquilizers. She says that sounds like what HE needs.

Meanwhile, Hope rushes into the cop shop, telling Bo what happened with Larry. She said he seemed so real and hard for her to believe that he was just in her head this time. She is really worked up as Bo tries to calm her down. She leaves for the rest room as Bo begins to think about all she told him. He begins to wonder if Larry is REALLY dead. He asks himself WHY is Larry telling her to confess to a murder that happened AFTER Larry was killed (Good question Bo!!!) He asks “Is Hope seeing the REAL Larry?…Is that bastard still alive?”…fade to black.

On the Next Days of Our Lives…

Jennifer tells Jack that she has the results…

Cassie urges Shawn to take one of his mom’s pills…

Bo is on the phone asking “You left her alone?”…

Hope is making tea as Larry watches, saying “When I’m done with you Hope, you are going to need more than tea and sympathy”…

…and the credits roll.

Episode # 9502
Tape Date: 2-4-03
Director: Stephen Wyman

Summary: Tony and John fight as Marlena searches for answers…Victor put Nicole right where he wants her, under his thumb…Shawn confesses to murder…as Hope and Belle are trapped in the Brady home.

On DiMera Island…
Marlena, John and Tony are in the living room as Tony talks of wanting to help Marlena regain her memories. He tells them that he had workers brought in to help that happen. (They are working in the tower room). Tony and John argue as she watches. Tony claims he only wants to help, but John insists they don’t NEED his help. Marlena has had enough and leaves alone to go for a walk. John and Tony continue to argue as Tony complains of John’s treatment of him. John notices the fencing swords on the wall and talks of how things were settled long ago, by dueling. He takes them down and tosses one to Tony suggesting they settle their differences in the same manner. John tosses him a mask and Tony reluctantly obliges. Outside, Marlena is walking by the ocean and hears a baby crying, following the sound. As John and Tony fight, John cuts Tony across the arm. They continue to fight as Tony does the same for John. They hear Marlena’s voice yelling “NO, NO” and both rush out. Marlena is teetering on the edge of a cliff, looking down, yelling “No, No…don’t go”. John and Tony arrive and John grabs her just in time (before she falls) and holds her tight. He carries her inside as Tony fixes her a drink. She notices that both of them are bleeding as they tell her that they were just having some fun. John asks why she was on the cliff and she says that something was calling to her. She says that someone was leaving in a boat and it was breaking her heart. She says that the memories are coming back to her in pieces and she can’t put them together. She tells John that she MUST learn the truth and that Tony might be able to help. She is adamant about it and John finally gives in as they all head for the tower room.

At the Kirakis Mansion…
Nicole is in her bedroom, having flashbacks of Victor discussing Colin’s murder and his threats to her. She is terrified as he comes in. He grabs her by the nape of the neck and asks if she really thought she could get away with it. He lets her up and they spar verbally. She tells him that she isn’t up to this, but he makes her listen to him. He pulls out an envelope, telling her it is a belated wedding gift. She reads the papers inside and has a horrified look on her face. Victor tells her to admit that what she read is true and if she doesn’t, he will turn it over to the press. She says it is all true and tears up the papers as Victor laughs at her, telling her that all the originals is in his safe along with the videotape. She looks like a trapped animal as he tells her that she will NEVER get her hands on the evidence. She asks why he just doesn’t divorce her, but her tells her that would be too good for her. Instead, she will pay for the rest of her life. Nicole asks what he has planned as he taunts her. He informs her that she has lost ALL her rights and that her life is going to become very hard. He tosses her down and says that she will now become his serf, a servant to his Czar. He says that from now on, her answer will always be “yes” to him. She finally says “you win…I’m no match for you”. He agrees, calling himself Czar Victor, all powerful and all-knowing. He tells her that her only reason to live is to give him pleasure as he kisses her.

At the Hospital…
Apparently, Shawn collapsed at the police station as he is now being wheeled into the ER, followed by Bo and Roman. Bo calls home to check on Hope, but she doesn’t answer. He tells Roman that he KNEW something was wrong with Shawn. Cassie and Rex rush in, with Cassie blaming Bo and (especially) Roman for what happened. Roman is sure that they know something and vows to find out what it is. Cassie clams up as Craig comes out and hands them the prescription bottle. Roman wants to go and talk to Shawn, but Bo goes instead. Rex apologizes to Cassie for taking her to the police station and says he should have tried to protect her better. In the ER, Shawn is freaking out as he tells Bo about taking Hope’s pills. Bo questions him wanting to know WHY he took them. Shawn finally blurts out that he killed Colin. (Roman is standing nearby and overhears this, saying “Oh My God”. Kate arrives, finding Roman back in the waiting room. She can tell something is bothering him, but he won’t tell her what. She hugs him and says if he needs to talk, she is there. Back in the ER, Bo tries to make sense of what Shawn is saying but he just keeps saying “Sorry…I’m so sorry”. Craig comes in and informs them that the drugs in the bottle didn’t match what was on the label and that Shawn has been taking amphetamines. Bo returns to the lobby as Roman pressures him to tell him what Shawn said, but Bo won’t say a word. Bo is called back to the ER and as he talks with Craig, realizes that the medicine must have been tampered with. He questions Shawn about Hope and he tells him that she wasn’t feeling well and thinks maybe she went to bed. Shawn thinks he should go check on her. Bo has Roman call the cops on duty and they tell him that all is quiet at the house. Cassie wants to talk to Shawn but Roman won’t let her and tells Rex to take her home. He promises he will talk to her in the morning. Rex assures him he will be talking to their lawyer. Bo tells Shawn that he is going home to check on Hope and Shawn becomes very agitated, wanting to go with him, but Bo tells him to stay put.

At the Brady House…
As Larry is holding Hope, Belle is watching from the stairway. Hope sees her and occupies Larry’s attention (actually he is taunting her, but she plays along). He lets her know that he has poisoned her with carbon monoxide. Belle picks up a vase and sneaks down the stairs and up behind Larry. But he sees her reflection in a photograph and grabs her. He says “Miss Black in the living room with a vase?…I don’t think so!” (another reference to the game Clue). He holds her tight and taunts her as well, saying he KNEW that she was in the house and would have to deal with her. He instructs Belle to go and get a hammer and nails to nail the windows shut but she refuses so he pulls his gun on her. You can see that Hope is getting weaker and weaker and finally faints to the floor. Larry says that she is probably dead. After Belle finishes nailing the windows shut, Larry (who MUST come prepared for anything) glues the locks shut on the door. For those wondering, yes, the fumes are starting to get to him as well and he decides it is time to go. He handcuffs Belle to the staircase and instructs her to take deep breaths. Larry checks on Hope (who is unconscious by now) and informs Belle that he will be leaving the way he came, through the basement. He tells her if she screams, he will come back and shoot her, then leaves. On his way down, the fumes get to him as well and he is struggling to stay on his feet. He falls to the floor and collapses. Upstairs, Hope coughs and wakes up. She sees Belle, who tells her that he is gone. She tries to get up, but is too weak. Belle throws a vase to the floor and says that they are going to die. Hope collapses again as Belle says it is up to her…fade to black.

On the Next Days of Our Lives…

Jack and Jennifer are kissing on the bed as he tells her she is so beautiful…

Chloe takes off her robe as Brandon stairs at her from the hot tub…

We see Bo chasing Larry through the sewers…

Shawn breaks the window as we see Hope inside unconscious on the floor…

And the credits roll.

Episode # 9501
Tape Date: various
Director: Phil Sogard

Valentines evening is hopefully coming to a close as the Wesley's get a visitor, Marlena sleep walks, Belle returns to Salem and Shawn confesses.

DIMERA ISLAND
Marlena awakens hearing Dr. Rolf’s hypnotic summons in her head and leaves a sleeping John in their room to wander the house. Tony (who sure moves nimbly for just having back surgery) follows. Later John searches for her and finds her sleeping on a sofa. Tony, drinking a martini, joins them saying Marlena won’t wake up this time. John wakes up as it was a dream, but finds Marlena gone. In her white silk negligee she’s still sleepwalking around with Tony close behind. Hearing Rolf telling her to breathe and she’s almost made it, she collapses as Tony rushes to catch her and picks her up (oh, that’s REALLY good to do just after back surgery, isn’t it?) John arrives and Marlena comes to and jumps out of Tony’s arms to John’s side. Tony explains what happened and didn’t awaken her in the event she was remembering something. Marlena starts to leave and John threatens to kill Tony if he touches Marlena again…but Tony simply said if she collapses in his arms again, he will catch her. The 3 of them talk about the past and Marlena said everything is hazy to her. She has to know the truth and will do whatever Tony asks.

BACK AT DIMANSION
Belle takes Rex back home (school out? Why aren’t they at the dorm?) and thanks him for helping her see that Shawn needs her now. Cassie meets them in the foyer, not too happy with her brother’s actions. Belle explains she’s 18 and not running away from her problems anymore, Paris will be there in the future. Belle learns Shawn’s at home and heads over there. Cassie blasts Rex for leaving her alone to follow Belle and finally tells him that Shawn killed Colin Murphy when he insists on no secrets between them. She explains about hiding in the bushes, she saw it happen. Rex doesn’t agree with Cassie’s keeping it secret and will tell if she doesn’t.

HELLO DADDY
Nancy opens the door to her father. No warm hug or greeting, he just walks in. Craig joins them and realizes Nancy called her father against his wishes, but doesn’t make a big deal out of it. Saying it was eating her alive and knowing it was bothering him too, she asks her father if he isn’t going to ask about how Chloe’s doing. She asks him why he lied to her all those years ago and made her give Chloe up.

CLEAN FUN AT GREEN MOUNTAIN LODGE
Brady joins Chloe in her bubble bath as they sit facing each other. We return later to her sitting in front of him as he washes and rinses her hair..kiss kiss. Later, donned in their red robes, Brady suggests they get some night skiing in so they can have another bath. Chloe tells him she’s tired after her attempt to ski all day and just wants to go to bed. First she needs to call home as they don’t know where she is. She calls and Craig answers. He talks softly as Nancy and her father are in the room. He assures her Nancy and the baby are fine and after she tells him she and Brady are at Green Mountain Lodge, promises to call her back later. She senses something’s wrong and Brady offers to take her home. She thanks him and they decide they’ll come back if they find all is well at home.

PASS THE ASPIRIN AT THE BRADY HOME
Shawn joins Hope and Alice in the living room as they all wonder what’s wrong with them. Alice thinks perhaps they all have the flu. Hope’s glad Gran’s spending the night, but Alice just wants the comfort of her own bed. Not wanting either Shawn or Hope to go out as they’re sick too, she tells them she’ll call Maggie (how about Mickey, LOL). Bo calls to fill Hope in on what they’ve learned about the matchbook and Larry and says he’s tightened the security around their house and not to worry. When he asks what’s wrong, she tells them they’re coming down with the flu she thinks. Shawn takes some aspirin. Bo asks to speak with Shawn and wants him to come down to the station, now, to clear something up.

COP SHOP
Roman tells Bo that the stud they found was from a rented tux, but it was Shawn’s. It didn’t just fall off either, it was torn off during an apparent struggle. Arriving to see Bo after he called (see above) Shawn pops another of Hope’s pills before going in the door to see Bo. Roman and Bo take him into Abe’s office to ask him questions about Colin’s murder. Bo asks Shawn about Colin and we get the infamous replay of his struggle with Colin. Bo asks Roman for a minute alone with Shawn and after Roman leaves, he pleads with his son face to face to tell him the truth. Grabbing his son’s leather jacket, holding his face, he continues to plead that the quieter he is, the worse it looks for him. Shawn asks for a minute to himself and Bo agrees, walking to the other side of the room for some coffee as Roman comes in. Shawn pops another anxiety pill (good grief kid, didn’t you pay attention during those DARE lectures???) Bo gets upset that Roman called the DA and Abe, but Roman knows covering up doesn’t help anyone. Bo angrily vows his son had no reason to kill Colin Murphy, still thinking it was DiMera’s doing. Shawn reels around asking them not to fight. Cassie and Rex rush in as Shawn tells them he has to get it out in the open. Cassie tells him not to say anything..but those fast acting pills have kicked in as Shawn rants that Roman wants him to be the murderer so they can wrap up the case. They all watch worriedly as Shawn throws the suspect board to the ground, then collapses in Bo’s arms.

BACK AT THE WESLEY’S
Yelling at him about lying about her due date, Nancy tells her father how he ruined her life and Chloe’s…Brady and Chloe walk in (they must have beamed over from GM Lodge as they’re now dressed and home in 2 minutes time..yowza!!!) and overhear Nancy say that. Craig gives Chloe a hug and she asks what’s going on. Nancy asks her father to look in Chloe’s eyes and confronts him for not telling them the truth so that Chloe could know she was conceived in love and grow up with her parents. She vows he won’t get to know either of his granddaughters. He apologizes to Chloe and solemnly tells Nancy he’ll respect her wishes and that he loves her. He hopes to be part of their family again one day and leaves. Chloe apologizes to her mother for all the misery she gave herself and her mother the past few years. She now has her family and her future to look forward to. Craig reminds them it’s still Valentine’s Day and Chloe asks if they mind if she and Brady go back to the lodge (only a 2 minute drive after all)…Craig and Nancy are fine with it and all hug.

BACK AT THE BRADY FORTRESS
Hope yells goodbye to Gran as Maggie apparently is driving her home. Belle walks up and she and Hope talk in the driveway as Larry lurks near their toter (hello…GREAT SECURITY BO!!). Larry overhears Hope telling Belle about the matchbook that Bo found and they know Larry’s still alive. Belle sees that Hope isn’t feeling well and suggests they go inside (NO!). Hope agrees as the two walk arm in arm inside as Larry curses himself about the matchbook and his smoking habit is helping his plan go up in smoke. He sneaks away with not a cop in sight, to the Brady basement to check on his handiwork.

Upstairs Hope and Belle talk about Shawn. Belle learns Shawn had gone to the airport to see her, but doesn’t know why. Hope tries to figure out why Shawn and Belle had broken up. Shawn told her they it was a mutual decision for him and Belle to give each other space. Belle gets upset, denying her wanting space and goes to leave, knowing Hope doesn’t need to seeing her feel sorry for herself. Hope tells Belle she loves her very much and is proud of both Shawn and her. She offers her help and promises not to be defensive for her son. If he’s hurt Belle, she wants to know it. Hope’s starting to feel sick again and Belle asks about her headache. She offers to leave and let Hope rest, but Hope asks her to stay. She tells Belle that Zack is with Doug and Julie and asks for some antacid. Holding her stomach, Hope struggles up out of the chair. She sees Larry Welch in a blur across the room. She thinks it’s a cop and tells him she was feeling sick. Larry walks up, saying “sick?”. Hope freaks, knowing the PD is guarding her house (hahahaha) and he catches her by the wrists as she falls to her knees. He tells her it’s him, in the flesh as he strokes his face with her hands…….

PREVIEWS FOR TOMORROW…
Victor tells Mrs. Kiriakis she’s been a very naughty girl…

Larry taking a vase out of Belle’s grasp saying “Miss Black in the living room with a vase” (gotta love those CLUE references, haha)…as he tosses the vase across the room and holds Belle…

Episode # 9500
Tape Date: 1/31/03
Director: Randy Robbins

A friend joins Belle on the plane, Bo & Hope’s romantic evening is abruptly aborted, while John & Marlena find they have company on the island.

DE PLANE, DE PLANE
Belle changes her seat to one next to a window, settles in, and looks up to find Rex joining her. She is ticked off, but he sits down, and they yak it up. Rex assures her he knows she loves Shawn, but just wants to be there for her. They chatter back and forth, about the nuts, a bit about Paris, and about Shawn, too. Eventually Belle decides she DOES want to return to Salem, and talks about doing it right now. (a bit hard to do in mid-flight…..but we get the idea)

BRADY HOUSE
Shawn arrives home, angry at having missed Belle, and decides to pop another pill. Gran comes out of the kitchen, catching him, wanting to know what he is doing. He claims they are pain pills.
Down in the cellar, Larry is congratulating himself on a job well done. The batteries in the carbon monoxide detectors have been replaced with dead ones…..(O.K., Larry, I give up….just WHERE did you get hold of DEAD batteries?) and the pipe has been loosened. He happily congratulates himself on a job well done, that he will eliminate ALL the Bradys at one time. He listens thru the registers, as Alice questions Shawn about the airport..
Upstairs Shawn moans about being too late, not being able to get past security, snaps at Alice, then goes for water to take his pill. She asks him to turn up the heat, as it is getting chilly in the house. (Uh oh) Shawn returns with tea for Alice, and she very gently tries to get him to open up. He blows up at her, claiming he wants to be left alone, and runs upstairs.

GREEN MOUNTAIN LODGE
Bo & Hope are still dancing, this time to “I Can’t Live Without Your Love”. Bo brings up Larry, reassuring her about being safe from Larry. A knock at the door, Bo opens it, and Hope sees Larry standing there, saying “Go Away”. But it’s the waiter bringing food service. Hope makes an excuse, but Bo realizes she was seeing Larry again, and apologizes for bringing his name up in the lst place. (Wonder what he thought about Hope in the sheet outfit….lol) Bo says they could go back home, but then Doug & Julie would be mad at them taking away their grandson, and the dessert he ordered would go to waste. Hope brightens up at talk of dessert, but has something else in mind to fill that bill. She kisses him……….and we rejoin them in the afterglow of their “low cal” treat. LOLOL. Bo wants to try for seconds, but Hope jumps up to the food cart…..finding a luscious chocolate feast. As she digs in, the phone rings…..it is Mrs. H. who tells Bo she had come to the house to bring in the mail, and Shawn came in, is acting very strange, and that he definitely needs them. (About time someone noticed….and leave it to our wise Alice to realize it)Bo says they are on their way.

TUSCANY
Roman & Kate arrive, talking about the last time he brought her there….in handcuffs. They have no reservations, so sit at the bar and chat. Roman is still asking about Kate’s secret and she is still saying No. (we have heard this conversation several times already). He rags on her about Tony, then comments that maybe someone else knows this secret she has with Stef and will tell. Kate claims only Stefano knew the details, and since he is dead……no chance. She says she wants to talk to Marlena, not him. He wonders when J&M are returning, since John is her boss, Kate should have a schedule. She says Not. But says she thinks he & Marlena are off investigating Tony. Roman then guesses, probably the DiMera Island is where they are, being that Tony is recuperating from surgery, it is a good time to go there. (Think again, Roman). His pager goes off, a priority code, and he leaves. Kate stays behind, having a brandy or two.

DIMERA ISLAND
John & Marlena come into a room, to find Tony fixing himself a drink. Their query as to what he is doing there is answered by Tony saying it is his house, he has a right to be there, but THEY do not, they are trespassing, and what are THEY doing there. He comments on his most remarkable recovery (I’d say miraculous…..a few hours ago he could barely take baby steps) and claims to be a very fast healer. (Hmmm, this is the guy who has this blood disease that was causing him to go into fugue states quite often….that doesn’t happen any more, does it?) They all talk about seeking information about the twins and their pasts, with Tony claiming to be the twins’ father.
John & Marlena talk between themselves about Tony….John is against joining forces with him. Tony comes in, with a letter he just found while unpacking. He wonders why he never noticed it before. (what the???) It is from Stefano and he reads it aloud. Stefano says Tony probably wonders about the gifts in Stef’s bequests, and mentions the chess set to John w/missing queen and Marlena’s pillow w/the Gemini constellation. He says he knows Marlena belongs to John, and that she is not his Queen of the Night, but this is one time the Pawn got the Queen. The letter notes that by now, Tony knows about the twins, and that he should embrace them. He says something about the key he left Tony being to his destiny.
Tony is angry, damn’s Stefano and his veiled comments that mean nothing. He tears up the letter. All 3 argue a bit about working together, as John is soooooo against it. But Marlena is the voice of reason, and finally they agree to search together for the answers to all their pasts.

BACK AT THE BRADY’S, Bo & Hope arrive home in time to see Shawn slamming a book down. Shawn explodes at them, as Bo & Hope both stand there, shocked at his attitude. Bo gets on his case, but Shawn is downright nasty. Hope realizes it must be about Belle, that she left today, and Shawn agrees. Bo tells Shawn he is NEVER to talk to them that way again. Gran comes out of the kitchen, as Bo’s pager goes off – he also is called to the station on a priority code. ( Odd…What if he was still at the Lodge?)Bo leaves.
Larry arrives back “Home” in the storm sewers, bragging to himself about how easily he eluded all the Salem cops stationed at the Brady place. Also gleeful at the idea he will just as easily sneak back to watch all the Bradys being brought out in body bags. (this is getting tiresome….the police just HAVE to notice something or other)

COP SHOP
Roman tells Bo there was a partial fingerprint on the matchbook Bo found in his yard. It belongs to Larry. Also, the motel manager I.D.’d the altered photo of Larry as the man who rented the room there. (Police artist added long blond hair and mustache). Roman tells Bo he was right, Larry is alive. Roman comments on no leads on the onyx stud they found, but Bo claims it will have come from Larry when he murdered Colin. Bo sends more cops to the Brady home, and says other officers have agreed to work double shifts. The manhunt is on!

Back at the Brady house, Alice talks of going home, and mentions getting a headache. Hope will not hear of it, says the guest room is made up, and she is staying the night. Later, Hope complains to herself, that she, too, is getting a headache, must be all the stress. She finishes her cup of tea, then lays down on the sofa. Fade to black and white.

And the previews show………

Chloe in the obligatory bubble bath, candles lit all around, saying to Brady….stop stalling and get in here

Marlena grows faint, passes out as Tony catches her, and is carrying her as John walks in.

Roman, Bo & Shawn at police station as Roman says to Shawn…..we have to ask you some questions about Colin Murphy’s murder. Barb

Episode # 9499
Tape Date: Various
Director: Herb Stein

Summary: More valentines day celebrations at Green Mountain Lodge, Tuscany and DiMera Island. Great to see Doug and Julie again..a wonderful happily married couple both on and off screen.

GREEN MOUNTAIN LODGE
Doug and Julie are still babysitting Zack, but unfortunately the little guy has a cold. In his tux, Doug orders candy, roses, the works for Julie from room service while she puts Zack to bed. She returns in a beautiful blue dress announcing Zack’s asleep and thankful they got the bridal suite, as they prepare for their own valentines day celebration. Julie loves Doug’s romantic soul and tells him how jealous her friends are. She tells him how her friend Roberta got trivets for her valentines day present as her husband didn’t “get it” like Doug does. They happily recall other valentines day celebrations around the world they’ve celebrated. His favorite memory was back in Salem in her apartment when he kissed her for the first time. She tells him that wasn’t valentines day, but he tells her everyday is valentines day with her..awwww. Zack (?) starts crying from the bedroom (more like a baby then a 2 year old crying) Julie rubbed his little back til he went back to sleep again, saying he dropped his favorite stuffed animal and that woke him up. Doug remembers how devastated Hope was when she lost her Winnie the Pooh at that age. Julie listens, trying not to laugh. He wants to know why and she tells him how Hope’s Pooh had a Hoover accident, LOL…it’s little head got sucked in and burned up the vacuum cleaner as she demonstrates by a slash across the throat saying it got decapitated. Gram and Julie decided not to tell Doug as he’s a blabber and would have told on them. They toast each other, Winnie and Hoover. Knock knock on the door…as Doug goes to answer. It’s room service with dinner for two AND chocolates. She gets morose after he tells her it’s for the most beautiful girl in the world.

Thanks to a Liz from Salem Place board..the poem Chloe and Brady recite from was written by William Blake:
To see a world in a grain of sand
And heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.

TUSCANY
Sami and Brandon arrive at Tuscany for dinner, apparently without reservations. Surprised at how packed it is, Maggie personally greets them and not only will try to find a table for them, but gives them a drink on the house to boot. Maggie looks gorgeous in a burgundy strapless gown. Sami offers a homemade sandwich at Brandon’s if they can’t get in. Maggie returns, quietly telling them she snagged a table for them. She and Mickey talk about the odds of Sami and Brandon staying together and she reminds him how people probably thought the same thing about them 25 years ago.

After seating Sami and Brandon, Mickey rushes in with a large bouquet of red roses for Maggie. Sami watches enviously as Mickey tells his bride of 25 years how much he loves her and arranged for her to have the night off. He escorts her to a reserved table and she finds it’s reserved for them.

Sami is unsure why Brandon brought her there, perhaps to dump her? He tells her he chose it as it reminds him of their time in Italy. She gives him a gift, something you can’t find in a store. Assuring him it’s NOT illegal, she tells him she’s an Irish girl and it’s a four leafed clover she got when she was a little girl. Feeling like she got luck out of that little clover, she wanted to give it to him for luck too. He kisses her, thanking her, but saying he has all the luck he needs while looking at her. Later Maggie walks by signaling Brandon about something. The waiter offers dessert and Brandon agrees…so Maggie delivers a bowl of candy hearts. Sami, who just commented was too full for dessert, politely nibbles on one of them. Brandon tells her to read the hearts and she finds they all say BE MINE. She finds a key in the middle of the hearts and he asks her to move in with him (uh, what about Will?) Sami leaps up and jumps onto Brandon’s lap accepting. Maggie fills Mickey in about how she helped Brandon earlier when he came by (aha, so he had secret reservations apparently). Mickey comments about Sami and Brandon living in sin, but Maggie tells him it’s 2003 and not the dark ages. She knows Roman will approve (LOL, yeah, right Maggie). Everyone stands up and applauds Sami and Brandon as she realizes where they are. She’s anxious to be domestic for him and hopes he won’t regret the decision.

VALENTINES NIGHT ON DI-ISLAND

John strokes Marlena’s sleeping face and tries to wake her up as we hear her hearing Stefano’s muffled voice telling her to sleep. She finally awakens after her 5 minute snooze and notes all the candles in the room as John tells her happy Valentines Day (guess he scrounged them from all the rooms or packed them in his duffel bag). He whips some filet mignon steaks out of his briefcase (the miracle of dried ice). The thought of steak excites her as she starts with an appetizer…steamed John ala bed. We return to them in the afterglow, cracking jokes as he offers to start dinner. He pulls out a small bottle of champagne and champagne flutes and after sipping some, gives her a beautiful card. She reminds him why they’re there. He gave her pictures of her four children and said if it turns out that Cassie and Rex are also her children, it will be an incredible gift to them. She hugs him in appreciation. He wants them to find the truth and face it together. Later he barbequed their filet over the fire and while kissing, they hear a noise. John tells her they aren’t alone……

As the previews for tomorrow roll…
Belle’s on the plane as Rex walks up to her aisle after the pilot apologizes for the delay..

Back at home, Shawn shakily goes to take another pill as Gran walks in wondering what he’s doing with them….

Bo and Hope are in the lodge and when Bo opens the door, Larry Welch is standing there. She tells him to go away…

As the credits roll…

Episode # 9498
Tape Date: 1/30/03
Director: Phil Sogard

Summary: Today’s show is a celebration of love for 2 of Salem’s favorite couples – Jack & Jennifer and Bo & Hope, a treat for fans of both couples…Shawn rushes to stop Belle from leaving town…A beautiful show, but we must pay the price…there is a disturbing, shocking twist that comes at the end as one of Salem’s most beloved residents ends up in grave danger!!

Ho, Ho, Ho…
Over at Jennifer’s house, someone is sitting on the doorbell as it is ringing constantly. Jennifer opens it to find Abby (dressed as Cupid) dangling in the doorway. She yells “GOTCHA…right in the heart!” Laughing, Jen asks who she is and she informs her that she is cupid. Jen asks where is Zeus as Jack pokes his head around the corner. Abby begins to chant “Mommy’s in love…mommy’s in love”. She says “Yes I am, baby” as she smiles a Jack. There is no school today so Abby is spending the day with Vern and Jo and as we hear their horn blowing (geez, do they NEVER come in and visit?) Abby rushes out the door. Jack and Jen kiss and he makes her close her eyes and leads her to the kitchen, where it is all decorated in hearts, balloons, lights and candles. (He says that he and Abby were up before dawn). Later, we see Jack dressed in a red (with white hearts) apron and chef’s hat serving Jennifer a breakfast of heart-shaped pancakes and strawberries (no dialogue as they enjoy themselves). Later, he offers her a gift. She feels bad because she doesn’t have one for him but he says SHE is all he needs. She opens it to find a heart-shaped watch/bracelet, with him telling her to take all the time she needs….but to know that he won’t take “no” for an answer. They both want to forget all that happened and move toward the future. She puts on the watch and they talk about all the great times they have shared…especially one (as we see flashbacks of Jack proposing to her as he is dressed as Santa Claus). They smile about the memory and she tells him that he will never get the chance to propose to her again as she rushes upstairs. She returns yelling ho, ho, ho (dressed as Santa). She sits on a shocked Jack’s lap and tells him that he will get what he wants as she pulls off the hat and beard. She tells him that she has only loved one man her whole life and she still does. She gets down on one knee and asks him to marry her. An ecstatic Jack joins her on the floor and accepts her proposal as they hug. She tells him that she wants their new life to begin right now…NO MORE guest room and asks him to make love to her. He picks her up and carries her upstairs.

Over at the Hartley House…
Belle is looking at her picture of her and Shawn as she finishes packing. Rex drops by with a gift (it arrived from Shawn). She is sure he arranged for it before they broke up. She opens it (at Rex’s urging) to find a carving of a snowman (as she has flashbacks of them building one). She says he loved her once and thinks she couldn’t be wrong about that. Rex asks if she is sure she really wants to go to Paris. The driver shows up for her and she gathers her things to head to the airport.

At the Brady House…
Cassie has made tea for her and Shawn (she just makes herself at home, doesn’t she?) Shawn is terribly agitated and rags on Larry and says he won’t feel safe until he is dead and out of their lives. Cassie reminds him it is Valentines Day and suggests a ‘private party’ (geesh!) But Mimi shows up, spoiling her plans, with a gift for Shawn from Belle. LOL as she calls Cassie “space girl” and says she knows what she is up to. (You GO Meems!) Mimi forces Shawn to open the gift (much to Cassie’s dismay) which is a book that had Belle made, by copying pages from her diary. Shawn begins to read pages to himself, starting with her recollection of them building the snowman. Cassie jumps up to stop him, but Mimi holds her back. She tells her that it is time for them to hit the road and practically drags Cassie out the door. Cassie tells Shawn she will call him later, but he totally ignores her. Later, he is still reading (totally engrossed) when he is interrupted by a voice. It’s Alice, who has come by with a bouquet of flowers for Bo and Hope. He tells her of the gift and she urges him to go and stop Belle from leaving Salem…and to hurry. With a kiss on her cheek, he rushes out the door to the airport. After he is gone, Alice talks to Tom, wishing him a Happy Valentines Day.

Later in the show, Shawn rushes into the airport, but he is too late, as he is told the plane has already boarded. Dejected, he leaves. On the plane, Belle sits alone and says “Goodbye Shawn”.

At Green Mountain Lodge…
Bo and Hope wake up together and he goes to draw them a bath. While he is gone, there is a knock at the door. Hope (thinking it is Doug or Julie) rushes over, but it is a delivery…roses and a heart shaped box. Bo comes in, yelling at her not to open it. At first it, she thinks it is from Larry, but Bo assures her it is from him, he just wanted to be with her when she opened it. The box is filled with memories of their life together. He pulls out a miniature motorcycle as we see flashbacks of a VERY young Bo and Hope talking about his bike. She pulls out a small carrousel as they talk about the carnival and the kissing booth (more flashbacks). Bo says that kiss sealed his fate. Hope tells him that she always knew he was the one. They then take out a miniature music box, the smallest one he has ever given her, Bo says, and they kiss. Later, they are lying in bed talking about what it would have been like had they not met when they did. They are both sure that it was their destiny and would have met later on. There is then a fantasy sequence of Bo in a bar (the Blule Note) in present day. He is talking with a friend and goes to leave, passing Hope (on her way in). He comes back in, complaining that someone hit his bike. He finds out it was Hope as his friend tells him to ask her to dance. He introduces himself as the music starts and she apologizes. The song (That’s All) starts as he asks her to dance (as payment), calling her “princess”. They head to the dance floor as she tells him her name is Hope. He tells her that you can’t lose what you never had and chuckles. They dance and when the song finishes, she kisses him. In real time, both are sure that had they not met when and where they did, they would have eventually ended up together. Later, (in the glow of the candle light) they get out of bed (draped in their sheets) and dance as the song (That’s All) plays again. (Heads up ladies, Bo’s sheet ALMOST slides down too far ;-).

As the music plays, we see Alice back at the Brady house sitting in the easy chair, holding a picture of her and Tom. The camera pans to the furnace grate and then to the basement as we see Larry rigging up the furnace pipes. He says when the Brady’s get home, they will have one humdinger of a present waiting on them. He talks about the Matriarch Alice Horton being there all alone. He says a little carbon monoxide is all she needs for a one way ticket to Tom-Tom Land as he chuckles. He then says “Adios Granny…Salem just won’t be the same without you”. Upstairs, we see that Alice is now asleep in the chair as we jump back to Bo and Hope dancing as the song ends…and it fades to black.

On the Next Days of Our Lives…

Brady wishes Chloe a Happy Valentine’s Day…

Sami tells Brandon she has a gift for him…and it’s something you can’t get in a store (as she hands him a plastic bag)…

John is watching Marlena sleep as he kisses her and says “Doc”…

…And the credits roll…
