Episode #9473
Tape date - 12/12/02
Director - Herb Stein

Summary: Sami and Brandon have it out over Lexie…A worried Bo calls on Dr. Marlena's help…as suspicion is shifted strongly toward 3 other suspects…as Shawn and Hope's strange behavior begins to intensify.

Sami's Apartment…
Brandon takes Sami back to her apartment (he probably wishes he hadn't). He asks what is wrong with her but she doesn't want to talk about it. He finally coaxes it out of her and she explodes at him that she is mad because of all his lies about Lexie. Brandon swears there is nothing between them and for her not to dwell on it. He tells her that she is imagining things as Sami brings up Lexie's pregnancy. Brandon points out that Lexie is back with Abe and can't understand why that upsets Sami. He is tired of arguing over this as Sami gets really upset. She tells him to stop pretending…he had sex with Lexie and she knows about it and has known for quite some time. Brandon asks how she knew as she explains about eavesdropping at the "fake wake" (as she calls it). We see flashbacks of this and then she recounts the numerous times Brandon lied to her about it and she can't deal with it. Brandon apologizes but Sami says that isn't going to cut it. He goes to hug her, but she pushes him away. He tries to explain and tells her that it was only one time and he regrets it. He claims that he is not the father but she asks what if he were…what then? He says but he is sure that he isn't but has trouble answering her question (as she has flashbacks of learning the truth). She pushes him for an answer…what if he WERE the father…what would he do? He demands to know why she is so obsessed about it (then she has flashbacks of changing the results). He wants to drop the whole thing and move on. She asks if they could go back to the way it was before Lexie and he says that they can…he only wants her.

Over at the Penthouse…
Marlena and Tony's conversation continues. She promises to talk to John about not exhuming Daphne's body. Roman calls Tony on his cell phone to come down to the station for questioning. As he gets off the phone, he tells Marlena that Roman only wants him to admit to killing Colin. He complains that the DiMeras are always the primes suspects anytime anything goes wrong. He denies killing Colin, being that he was his physician. Marlena tells him to forget it…she is not going to feel sorry for him. She claims that he is always presenting himself as a victim as he has flashbacks of the day in the park with her (where he complained about the way the DiMeras are treated). She thinks that with her being a psychiatrist, Tony is trying to use her…to figure her out, get under her skin and control her and use her as an ally. Tony claims that it isn't true and leaves. In the hall way, he says that she WILL come around to him and that he won't give up on her until she does.

At the Police Station…
Belle and Shawn arrive for questioning (as Shawn is visibly nervous about it). Shawn overhears Roman mention something about Jack's confession and yells that there is NO WAY Jack killed Colin. Roman explains that Jack recanted his confession. Shawn wants to talk with his dad, but he has gone home for a bit and Roman says that he will take his statement. Alone, Shawn and Belle briefly discuss the murder as Shawn makes the statement that it is likely that they will never solve this one.

As Shawn is in with Roman, Tony arrives as he tries to talk to Belle about her discovering the body. In the office, Shawn tells Roman about searching for the body, and as he explains, we see black and white flashbacks of him seeing Colin peering through the window at the wedding. Belle claims to Tony that she didn't see anything but the body and asks why Tony even cares. Tony says that Colin was his doctor. He continues to question Belle, but she clams up, saying she is only supposed to discuss this with the police. She tells him that Shawn is with Roman, but declares his innocence and says he is only there to give a statement. Inside, Shawn's flashback continues and in it, Colin turns and sees him. But back in real time, he claims to Roman that he didn't see a thing suspicious. Roman brings Shawn back to the outer office and thanks him and Belle as Tony is escorted in. Belle wants to go and meet with Mimi at dotCom, but Shawn claims he has something to do…alone. Near the end of the show, he is seen wandering around the Kiriakis mansion crime scene (which is a puddle of blood roped off). He looks down and sees Colin's body (in a black and white flashback).

When they question Tony, Bo is back at the police station (he had gone home…see below). They start questioning him about his whereabouts that night as Tony claims his innocence. Bo informs him that they have a witness that overheard them talking about Raymond Grant's murder (I assume this would be Jennifer) and Tony becomes very agitated and tells Roman to reign in his detective. He turns the tables on them and accuses the Bradys of hating Colin and wanting him out of their lives as well. Another cop shows up and calls Roman and Bo into the outer office. He gives them a letter that was recovered from Colin's place. It says that the Brady family despised him, especially Bo Brady. From the inner office, Tony watches and muses to himself, that "this is going perfect…even better than I expected."

At the Brady House…
Hope is home and comes downstairs when she hears a noise (it's Bo at the door). She grabs a vase as a weapon, then puts it down. (In the background, notice that the house is still decorated for Christmas). Bo is upset with her that she hasn't picked up Zack yet from his parents' house. She asks about the investigation and he explains that Jack and Jenn are both free and how they were covering for each other. He tells her that they really don't have a suspect. He explains that he has come home to shower, change and eat, but she admits that there is no food in the house. He hugs her and when he pulls back, she sees Larry's face. She reaches behind him and feels for his gun. When she looks at him again, he is Bo and he takes off the gun and locks it up. He wants to go over and get Zack, but she says no. He can see that something is wrong and goes to call Roman so he can take some time off. But she says no, they need to catch "Larry Welch's" killer. Bo picks up on it but she claims that she said "Colin Murphy". Bo backs down and agrees with her and again wants to go and get Zack. But she is adamant about it, saying that she needs rest and doesn't think she could look after him…plus she knows that Zack is in good hands (I think she knows he is safe where he is). By now, Bo KNOWS something is wrong and goes upstairs to shower. After he is gone, she starts seeing Larry again, and tries to convince herself it is just her imagination. Upstairs, Bo calls Marlena and asks her to come over. Later, Marlena arrives, but Hope sees Larry instead. She yells at him to "Go away…leave her alone…NOW!" And as Hope looks at him, he morphs into Marlena. Marlena encourages Bo to get back to work and they will be fine, but you can see that Bo is clearly worried. She confesses that Bo called her and they sit and talk about Hope's trouble sleeping and her extreme tiredness. She claims that the holidays and stress brought it on. Then the wedding and the murder happened. Marlena notices that she didn't bring up the kidnapping. But Hope says she doesn't need help with that, it is over and will never happen again, for Stefano and Larry are both dead. Marlena is proud of her determination, but as she talks, Hope begins to hear Larry saying "You'll never get away from me". She jumps up and begins chattering a mile a minute (to drown him out) and finally rushes off to the kitchen, leaving Marlena bewildered. She returns, asking Marlena to help her take down their tree and as Marlena admires one of the ornaments (Hope says they got it in London) she drops it and it shatters on the floor. As Marlena goes to get the broom, Hope looks down at it and begins to see a body in the snow. As the camera moves from the feet up, we see that it is NOT Colin, but Larry's face. As she goes to pick up the broken pieces, they change ito blood. Freeze frame on Hope's terrified face with blood running behind…fade to black.

On the Next Days of Our Lives…

Craig and Nancy talk about there are no leads in the murder…

Roman: "I wasn't even AT the wedding"…Bo: "and every move I made was accounted for"…Carson: "What about all the other Brady's…I guess they all have alibis."

Jennifer (to Jack): "Just say it…I slept with him"

Marlena: (to John): "It doesn't matter what Tony wants."… John: "I don't know how to be his brother."

…And the credits roll…

Episode #9472
Tape date - 12/11/02
Director - Randy Robbins

Tony asks Marlena to be the twin’s mother, Lexie’s baby moves for the first time, Jack and Jen realize what’s going on, Sami’s glove tests positive and another suspect is named.

BLACK’S PENTHOUSE
Tony shows Marlena the paperwork for John to dig up their mother’s grave. John wants to prove they’re not brothers, but nothing can change that. She agrees John shouldn’t do it either. Tony insists on protecting his mother, even in death. She warns him to stop doing what his father did, trying to possess her. He denies it, but she knows he wants something from her. He agrees. He talks about the twins being so innocent and he wants her help with their phobias. She’s so good with them and he wants her to be a mother to them. Shocked at that, she doesn’t think she can do THAT..as he tells her how much his mother meant to him. She listens with tears in her eyes

CARVER HOME
Brandon arrives and demands to know if Lexie told Abe that he was there the night before. Lexie gets sick and feels like she’s going to die. She sits on the couch and Brandon brings her a glass of water (the magic cure all). She denies telling Abe about his visit. Brandon recommends taking her to the hospital to see Dr. Bader, but Lexie tells him it’s ok. As he continues about how Colin hurt his sister and Sami, Lexie gets a more intense feeling…realizing it’s the baby moving for the first time. She puts Brandon’s hand on her stomach to feel it and hugs Brandon in her excitement. Looking at him with a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face, she knows what she wants…

COP SHOP
Mickey visits Jack in his jail cell, asking him to be honest this time and wanting details. He tells him he’s not protecting Jennifer and is being questioned as they talk. Jack panics after hearing that and calls the guard, saying Mickey’s leaving, and tries to rush past him. Aha, this guard is no fool and grabs Jack (even by the hair) to stop him. Jack socks the guard in the guard and two other guards block him from going further and they push him back into his cell and lock the door. Jack keeps pleading with Mickey that Jennifer needs him.

Sami arrives after Roman summoned her. She denies taking Roman’s gun and accuses Kate of doing it being she walked in. Kate tells them she just came back from the airport, but sarcastically says sure, she took Roman’s gun, went to the mansion, killed a man she barely knew to frame Sami. Sami tells her that’s her MO isn’t it (referring to Franco’s murder). The two women fast talk poor Roman as the test results are delivered. He tells Kate she can leave and tells Sami that the right glove she threw away and he found tested positive for gun powder. Oops. Roman wants the truth now. Sami thinks quick, telling him the truth and glossing over what Colin threatened to do to her if she didn’t obey, only saying he’d make her life living hell. She was scared and came to see him (Roman) about it, but when she saw Kate was there, just took his gun. She claims the gun went off in the Salem Inn parking lot into the nearby woods, so she decided to return it. She asks if he believes her, but after thinking about it, tells her the ballistics report will show if the bullet came from his gun.

Bo and Abe question Jennifer in an interrogation room. Abe threatens to charge her with obstruction of justice if she doesn’t talk. Abe reminds her that one of Abby’s parent’s is in jail already. Bo gets a call that Jack tried to escape so he could help Jennifer. Bo and Abe ask why Jack thought he could help her after he learned they were talking to her now. In the hall, Bo tells Abe that keeping Jen out of the loop about Jack isn’t working and they’ll need to give her more information to get anything out of her. They return and Bo apologizes, telling her Jack doesn’t know any details about the shooting. She’s a smart cookie and picks up what Jack’s trying to do, take the blame for her, thinking she killed Colin. Later they bring Jack in, not letting Jennifer touch him. She swears to all of them she didn’t kill Colin and if Jack confessed just to protect her, he doesn’t have to. She tells everyone why she slept with Colin. After she had told Jack the truth before the wedding, she went for a walk and tripped on Colin’s body. They realize they were both covering for each other and Bo softly tells Abe that that’s their straight answer. They leave to convince the DA to drop charges against Jack. They have Jack’s handcuffs removed and order a guard to stand outside to give them some privacy. Jen breaks down, realizing she was wrong to do what she did. She should have seen through Colin before now (duh) and Jack blames himself for leaving Jen in Africa. He tells her that he loves her and understands as Bo walks in. He tells Jack all charges were dropped and they’re not pressing charges for attempted escape and hitting the guard. Jack asks Bo for other suspects names, but Bo refuses and leaves. Jack tells Jen he’ll take her home to their daughter.

Sami looks out the window in Abe’s office and sees Brandon walking in with Lexie snuggled up next to him. She thanks him for bringing her to the station and can’t wait to see Abe. Sami storms out of the office telling Lexie to get her hands off her boyfriend. Brandon pulls Sami away from Lexie as Abe arrives. Lexie tells Abe to come in his office and tells him about the baby moving. He’s disappointed he wasn’t there, but the baby kicks again and Abe is excited at how strong it kicks.

Kate returns and talks to Roman. She apologizes for over reacting earlier with Sami and asks him to call her if he needs to talk or needs some company. He appreciates that and asks her if she knows how much she means to him. She walks out past Sami and Brandon. He asks if she slept with Colin. She tells him Colin was her cousin and she never cheated on him. Brandon sees Lexie coming out of Abe’s office (with a big smile on her face) and Sami gets jealous, mumbling about that whore. Brandon asks what she called Lexie.

Roman and Bo compare notes. Bo tells him Jack and Jen confirmed their suspicions of covering for each other. Roman tells Bo about Sami taking his gun. He wants to believe her, but ballistics will tell for sure. He sent a couple uniforms to the Salem Inn to look for shell casings as well. In the hallway, Sami vents to Brandon about what’s happening. He thinks he knows how Colin was threatening her. Sami looks surprised at that.

Abe kisses Lexie and tells her he’ll take her and their little soccer player home. They walk past, glancing at Sami and Brandon as they leave. Brandon wants answers and reminds her they promised to be honest with each other. She remembers changing the file, but gets upset knowing he hasn’t been honest about sleeping with Lexie either when Roman tells her he wants to see her. She goes into Abe’s office with Roman and Bo and is told the ballistics test showed it wasn’t a bullet from his gun. He’s willing to forget her taking his gun if she helps them by telling them if Colin had anyone else angry at him. She thinks and asks if they’ve talked to Tony. She tells him about going to Tony for help (we see a black and white flashback of their whole discussion). Roman asks her what da hell she was thinking by going to Tony. Bo thanks Sami and dismisses her. Bo is upset they didn’t talk to Dimera earlier about this and if they can find enough evidence to Colin’s murder, they can put him behind bars for life….as the preview for tomorrow’s show rolls………..

Sami tells Brandon she knows he lied to her about Lexie…

Shawn and Belle are with Roman at the cop shop and he says that’s nuts that Jack confessed, there’s no way he could have killed Colin….

Hope looks up to Larry Welch’s face and goes to hug him (and grab his gun) (it’s probably Bo) ….as the credits roll…

Episode #9471
Tape date - various
Director - Phil Sogard

Tony lays down the law to Rolf, the investigation into Colin's murder continues, and Billie says goodbye to Salem

THE PENTHOUSE
John reads the newspaper headlines about Colin's murder as Marlena comes in with coffee. He tells her that Shane is investigating Colin's ties with the DiMeras in the ISA, when the phone rings. It is Shane getting John caught up, telling him of Tony's trip. John thinks Tony could have set up Colin's murder, then left the country for an alibi. A messenger arrives with a big package, that turns out to be the painting that Marlena got from Tony. John had the ISA go over it….no microchips, poison or listening bugs. Clean as a whistle. That is what Shane called about. Marlena looks at the painting, wondering why no sadness shows in her eyes in it. She could not have been happy. She then mentions wanting to continue working with the twins, and John does not like that. He mentions the phoenix tattoo, and them being connected to Stefano, and Marlena replies that perhaps they could be related to Stefano by blood…..or related to John! He gets very upset and storms out, leaving the door open. Tony arrives (how come they did not pass each other in that small hall outside?) Tony is furious, saying John has gone too far, and he will not allow it. He will not allow John to dig up his mother's grave.

THE BRADY HOUSE
Belle arrives, to Shawn's relief, as he was missing her and wanted to see her so bad. The lovebirds sit on the sofa, and have a kissfest, while Shawn talks of how he cannot take much more happening to those he loves, and if anything happened to Belle, he could not handle it. She promises nothing will (Uh, oh) and the phone rings. It is Bo, telling Shawn to come down to station to give a statement about what he knows about the wedding.

DIMANSION
Bart, loaded down with suitcases, & Tony arrive outside the door, and Tony wants BART to open the door. Bart just looks at his filled arms….and Tony huffily opens the door. LOL…sorry, I just found that so funny. In the foyer, they talk of Tony's airplane trip out of the country, all the security checks, delays, baggage checks etc. Bart gives a salute to "Homeland Security" saying it is all for the good, and says at least Tony won't be considered a suspect. Tony replies, that there are plenty of videos of him in just his socks…at the airport. (am laughing again). Outside Rex finds Cassie, still dressed in last night's attire, just coming to the door. He questions her, but tho she admits going to Salem Inn, where Shawn & Belle never showed up, she ran into a party, and stayed there. Claimed she could not get in house upon arrival home, so slept in barn. (Yeah, right, and that bridge is still for sale in Brooklyn). Professor Putnam arrives, saying she could just tell the Count she was with him, and that should be o.k. (all night? Too weird for words).

They all go inside, to be greeted by Tony. He says he wants to hear what kept Cassie out all nite, since she is in same clothes, and wants private talk with Rolf. Bart pretends to be meeting Putnam for lst time. In the library, Tony tells Rolf that "I'd kill my hairdresser if I were you. What is this ridiculous disguise (oh, sooooooooo agree)). Tony orders Rolf to cease the mind games with the twins, and says Rolf should let Colin's demise be a warning. Do as Tony says, or Rolf may end up in an urn on the mantle like Daddy. ROTFL. He demands Rolf tell how he controls the children…..and Rolf opens his briefcase, takes out the bracelets and key, and explains that these were used to control them since childhood. They wore them 24/7. They were also used to monitor the twins' brainwaves and vital signs, when they were CRYOGENICALLY FROZEN, & brought to Salem. John removed the bracelets, with the key he stole from Tony (hey, wasn't there a second key?). Rolf used some connections to get bracelets back from government, and claims they can be used to reprogram the twins. Tony says for what…and Rolf says to protect the DiMeras. That was always his mission. Tony demands Rolf UNPROGRAM them, so Rex & Cassie are called in, told to sit on sofa, eyes closed, Rolf snaps on bracelets, goes thru some mumbo jumbo about forgetting all they had been told previously (this sounded soo lame), then open their eyes, and poof….go upstairs, have breakfast.
Tony takes the bracelets from Rolf, putting them away as the doorbell rings. (Where is Eliana?) Rolf goes, and returns with an envelope. Tony opens it, becomes very angry, saying he will not get away with this, and rushes off. (See above)

THE COP SHOP is a sea of bustling activity. Abe & Bo tell Billie, with Kate standing by, that all charges of any kind have been dropped, she is back on the force, Officer Reed. She wants to speak to Abe alone, & starts by saying, well, you know what you can do with your job.
Roman gives a lab man the gloves to be tested for gunpowder residue. Hope questions Jen as to why Jack is confessing to this murder, she knows he could not have done it. Jen, emotionally, tells Hope about sleeping with Colin, and how Jack was so angry, he just disappeared after that.
Mickey is scolding Jack, telling him if he is charged with Murder One, it will be death by lethal injection. Bo tells Abe that Jen slept with Colin, giving Jack motive. Kate is trying to find Billie, and Roman says to use the desk phone to call Billie's cell. No luck. Kate & Roman reminisce about their interrupted evening, and think perhaps they could pick up where they left off last night….which Roman remembers as being in his bed. LOL.
Billie is in the interrogation room with Jack, wanting to know the truth. Jack says the truth is, he committed murder, he will pay for it, and tells his old friend, to just leave it at that. Billie tells Jack she is leaving town, and going back to her old life in Paris, where people know and trust her. They hug and say goodbye.

Billie tells Kate of her decision to return to Europe, and leave the force, saying she already turned in her badge. Kate goes to get the car. Roman says goodbye to Billie, but tells her that he talked to Shane, and that if she contacts him in London, there is a job for her in the ISA. (Oh, jeez) He knows she would make a good agent, having worked with her before. She tells him that if he and her mom end of together, tis o.k. with her. They hug, and say bye. She then goes to see Bo, telling him goodbye, that she never came to Salem for him (Hope comes in behind her at this point) that she knows he and Hope are together forever, that they are meant to me. Hope says nothing, and Billie wishes them all the best and leaves. Bo & Hope hug, with Hope saying I hope we never see her again, and I am just glad she is gone with all the memory of Larry.
Jen comes to Bo, wanting to see Jack, but not possible, and admits telling Abe about her & Colin. She talks again to Hope, trying to reach a sensible reason as to why Jack is confessing.(Hey, Jen, just think about it!). Abe tells Jen he wants to question her about last night's events. The lab man returns to Roman with results from autopsy. Colin was killed with a bullet from a 45 caliber gun. The man leaves, saying they are still working on those gloves. Roman pulls his own gun out, looks at it, saying "45 caliber….Sami could have done this"…or another gun. (WHERE the heck is Colin's gun?)

Kate & Billie are at the airport, with Billie mentioning needing an armload of fashion mags if she is going back to that business. Kate leaves to go get them, and Billie changes her ticket from Paris to London. Mother & daughter go to the gate, say goodbye, and Billie looks back, thinking, goodbye, Mom, goodbye Salem. Aloud she says, Goodbye, Bo. I'll always love you."

Rex tries to get Cassie to tell him just what she was doing last night. She just says that Shawn & Belle never checked in at the desk. Rex is perplexed as to why she won't tell him, & leaves. Cassie says, "No one can ever find out what I did last night."

In his cell, Jack sits on his cot, saying "I'm doing the right thing. I'm not running away this time. I love you Jennifer. I'm not letting you down. I promise, I promise". He lays down on the cot, staring at ceiling.

AND FOR TOMORROW
Sami (she looks so cute in that hat) to Roman….here is the woman you should be interrogating. Then to Kate…..you probably seduced my father so you could commit murder
At the jail, the guard opens the cell door, and Jack tries to run off, with guard grabbing him around the neck, and Mickey yelling for him to settle down
Tony to Marlena…..I protected my mother while she was alive, and I will protect her now. Marlena asks..protect from whom….was it Stefano? And the credits roll.

Episode #9470
Tape date - 12/9/03
Director - Roger Inman

Summary: Tiz the morning after as the newlyweds watch a video, the Brady brothers pull an all nighter as friends and family gather at the cop shop worried about Jack as Hope's visions of Larry and remembering blood on her hand confuse her.

THE NEWLYWEDS…so much for day after afterglow, haha….as
Nicole plans to sneak over to Colin’s hotel room to look for any other videos he might have made when Victor stops her. She explains she needs to get away from the house and grounds (the murder scene). Insisting there was nothing between her and Colin, Victor tells her he has what she’s looking for as he shows her the videotape. (oops) She plays dumb about the video and he admits not seeing it himself..YET. Trying to sway him upstairs and to bed, he tells her the video was found in Colin’s hotel room. He suggests they watch it together..NOW. He figures it’ll be important evidence in lieu of what happened to Colin. He tells his bride to SHUT UP and sit down as he plays the video. We catch the Aussie and the wench going at it as Victor watches, not too surprised. He tells Nicole it would seem to be a good cause for murder. Locking up the video in his safe, he assures his bride that only he and his attorney have the combination for it and it requires a thermal hand scan to access it (wow..high tech Vic..looks like he’s got his hand on a vertical copy machine). Now he can take care of Nicole he says. He tells her he’s no longer going to fight any of her battles for her, including Sami or Kate. Her bags are in the limo and they’re going on their honeymoon. She’s surprised he still wants to go, but her reminds her they were married last night and she’s his wife. From now on they’ll abide by HIS rules. (ahhh, isn’t love grand?)

BRADY HOME
Hope carefully opens the front door, looking around for Larry and gets the newspaper. Mouthing, Oh My God, she looks surprised and puts her hand over her mouth after reading the headline DR. COLIN MURPHY MURDERED. Later after dressing, she leaves a note propped on the coffee table for Shawn, telling him she’s gone to the station to see his dad and there’s food in the kitchen for breakfast and Zack’s at the pub. She turns around to see Larry standing there. He tells her she’s not going anywhere without him ever again. She wills his image away, but it returns again resulting in her screaming STOP IT before fleeing (that Shawn sure is a sound sleeper..if Larry WAS there he would sleep through the whole thing).

SALEM PD
The Brady Brothers have been up all night (commenting how the all nighters aren’t as easy as they use to me). Bo notices that Roman’s gun safety is off and upon examining his gun, Roman notices it’s been fired…and NOT by him. Roman remembers his gun and holster were where he left them all night and Sami and Kate the only ones in the house with access to it. Bo offers to take care of it, but Roman says he will.

SAMI AND BRANDON
Sami and Brandon are at his apartment, both acknowledging Colin’s death is no loss to either of them. Brandon tells Sami that Colin was about to tell him something about her when he was interrupted. Sami denies that Colin had anything on her, but Brandon isn’t buying it. She finally tells him that Colin wanted her to help him do something to break up Jen and Jack and she couldn’t be part of that. He doesn’t believe that’s all, but she’s rescued by Roman’s knocking at the door. Roman brought a female officer who is to escort Brandon down to the station for questioning. Sami wants to go with Brandon. After Brandon and the cop have left, Roman has his own questions for his daughter, like why she took his gun and where she shot it. Clever cop, Roman knows that only Sami could have taken his gun and shot it. She denies it and Roman leaves. Sami locks the door and gets the gloves out of the dresser drawer. She smells them (gunpowder?) and throws them in a plastic garbage bag with the trash and knots the bag, saying she has to get rid of the evidence (I’d toss them in the river myself) Wearing her hat and coat, she takes her trash to the dumpster behind the building and throws it in. She disappears back inside as Roman walks around the corner, removes the bag and finds the gloves. (Sami, Sami, Sami) Roman takes them by the cuff and shoves them in a plastic bag (you can’t fool your daddy Sami).

BACK TO THE COP SHOP
Jack’s being interrogated by Police Commander (huh?) Abe Carver as Mickey implores him to keep quiet. Jack just confesses he did it as Abe demands details (what’s with the badge pinned to his necktie, haha) Jack simply says he murdered Colin Murphy and no one else could have, end of story. Later the DA feels there’s enough for Jack’s arraignment with means, motive and opportunity. Abe wants to get more evidence and statements from other people first. Finally Mickey reminds them both that Jack has the right to meet with him alone and they leave. He tells Jack anything he tells him will be protected by attorney/client privilege. Jack simply admits being the murderer. He tells Mickey one of his sources got him the gun and he doesn’t even know what caliber it was. Jack only knows it was the kind of gun where you pull the trigger and shoot it. Mickey asks what he did with the gun. Jack tells him he got rid of it where no one can find it. Frustrated, Mickey asks why if he’s so anxious to admit guilt. Jack only admits being guilty again and is ready to take the punishment.

Maggie is there to comfort Jen, who knows Jack is protecting her because he loves her. Bo comes out of Abe’s office and Jen pleads to see Jack. Bo refuses, but tells her to go home. Jen goes to call Abby but her cell is dead. Bo offers the station phone and she talks with Abby first, sending both her and Jack’s hugs and kisses. She talks to Jo, Jack’s mom, and asks her to not let Abby see the newspaper or tv as she wants to tell Abby herself. Maggie and Bo watch knowing that given the right circumstances, people are capable of most anything.

Outside Jack’s interrogation room, the DA wants DETAILS. Bo goes in and asks to speak with Jack alone. Mickey doesn’t feel that’s wise, but Jack agrees. Jack assures him it’s okay as Bo’s family. Bo tells him he’s there as a cop and Jack replies he’s there as a murderer. Mickey is frustrated, but Jack threatens to fire him if he didn’t abide by his wishes (don’t fire Mickey if you want to lose, Jack!) Alone, Bo and Jack two stare at each other. Bo tells Jack he knows that Colin and Jen slept together and wants to know how Jack found out. Jack tells him. Bo said that gives him motive, but he doesn’t understand why he’s so damned anxious to take the rap for it. Bo tells Jack he knows why Jen slept with Colin and explains she was doing it to save his life. Jack asks who else knows and Bo tells him no one. Jack asks Bo to keep that out of the investigation, but Bo refuses, saying he only kept quiet until he knew Jack’s side of it. Jack pleads with him to keep it quiet for both his and Jennifer’s sake. Bo realizes that’s why Jack’s admitting guilt. Jack tells him this conversation is over and just to charge him. The DA walks in, happy to oblige as Bo gives a sad smile at Jack.

Hope arrives at the station. Bo tells her he didn’t tell her about Colin’s murder after all she’s been through. He asks her to get Jen to go home and for her to too. Fearing Jack will be arraigned soon, Jen asks Hope if she saw Colin last night. Hope remembers Bo coming home and that her hand was bleeding. Jen asks if she remembers anything. Hope remembers cutting her finger and not realizing it until she saw the blood. She promises to keep trying to remember and urges Jen to go home. Hope refuses to leave Jen and Maggie takes the opportunity to go tell Alice before she hears about it in the news. Jen thanks her and Maggie and Mickey exchange knowing looks that married couples can relate to before she walks out. Mickey tells Jen that it doesn’t look good.

Abe, now jacketed, thanks Brandon for coming down. He figures Brandon’s leaving the scene only makes him look guiltier. He asks Brandon who hated Colin and Brandon tells him everyone. After a brief discussion he tells Brandon that he can go and not to leave town. Brandon tells him to go to hell and leaves.

The DA tells everyone he’s filing charges against Jack. Jack is in custody and remains silent as Jen says his name while looking at him. Bo takes Mickey aside, knowing Jack’s lying. He tells Mickey that he know Jack’s covering for someone as he looks at Jen. Mickey follows Bo glance at Jen, as she can’t believe that Jack could be convicted of murder. Hope tells her he won’t be as she knows he didn’t kill Colin… as the previews for Wednesday roll…..

PREVIEWS FOR WEDNESDAY
Rex asks Cassie where she disappeared to the night before (aha, some people have suspected one of the twins murdered Colin)

Jen tells Hope about Jack knowing she slept with Colin…

Mickey demands that Jack level with him or be charged with Murder One and face death by lethal injection (just remind him that Abby needs him Mickey)

As the credits roll….

Episode #9469
Tape date - Various
Director - Phil Sogard

Summary: As the Salem PD follows the clues of the shooting, no one is off the hook and there is no clear suspect. Everyone scrambles to cover their tracks. Yet, there is a confession by one, who believes he is protecting another. But to me, at this point, they ALL look guilty…except for the one that confesses.

At the Carver Home…
Abe and Lexie are enjoying a quite New Years Eve at home. He mentions that she has been sick (been wondering where they had been). She seems down and out as he asks what's on her mind. She says she is so glad that they have a second chance and she is having trouble making amends for all the wrong she has done. Abe gets a call, saying he'll be right there. When he gets off the phone, he tells Lexie about the shooting at the Kirakis Mansion and that Colin Murphy is dead.

At the Wedding …
We get an almost complete replay of the last segment from Friday's show. The minister and harpist leave and Victor questions Nicole as to why she was late, saying he KNOWS why. She says "Fine, then there is no need for me to say anything. "Fay is outside calling for Brandon. Sami sneaks into Roman's place to return the gun, saying "I did it for us Brandon". Shawn asks Nicole and Victor if they have seen Hope and Belle. Jack and Jennifer are in the foyer where she says she hated Colin and prayed for him to be dead…and now her prayer has been answered. Bo goes home and finds Hope with blood on her hand. Belle finds the body and begins screaming. Brandon walks up and grabs her shoulder from behind.

At Roman's Place…
Roman and Kate flip on the lights and catch Sami in the act. He chews her out for snooping around in his house, then demands to know what she is doing there. She says that she needed to talk to him, but refuses to do so in front of Kate. He says that Kate is part of his life now and Sami is surprised to learn that they are serious. Sami gets angry and goes to leave, but Roman gets the call about the shooting. Sami claims to know nothing about it and says she left the wedding early to talk to him and demands to know who was shot.. Kate chimes in saying "Oh, please tell me the groom pulled the trigger on the bride and not the other way around" (LOL, Kate has some really good lines today). Roman tells them to stay put while he goes over there. As soon as he is gone, Kate becomes very suspicious of Sami and begins to bombard her with questions about why she left, etc. Sami points out that this is the second wedding she has been at where someone got shot and last time Kate framed HER for it. Kate tells her, by the way, she forgot to tell her that Victor reneged on his promise to Nicole (to off them), but it looks like Sami is digging her own grave now. Kate asks why Sami is sweating bullets…did SHE kill Colin Murphy? Sami has had enough and storms out the door. Kate happily chirps "Sami had only one nerve left…and I got on it". From outside, we hear a car crank and tires screech. Then there is a loud crash. Apparently, Salem's worst driver has had another accident…as Kate grimaces.

At the Brady House…
Bo asks Hope about her hand as she explains it away as having cut herself peeling an apple. He asks why she left early and she says she was tired and not feeling well. She saw Victor's driver outside and asked him to bring her home. He wishes she would have told them and explains they were worried sick about her. He notices she is shaking and asks what is wrong with her…what happened to upset her so much?…as she has flashbacks to overhearing Colin's plan. He continues to question her, but she swears she isn't keeping anything from him. Bo calls Shawn and lets him know that Hope is okay. As Bo stares at Hope's bloody hand, Shawn tells him about Colin being murdered there. Bo asks Shawn to come home to be with Hope while he goes back to the mansion. Note: he never tells her about the shooting but tells her that he has to go back and will try not to be late and that Shawn is coming home. She resents the fact that he feels she needs a "babysitter". Their son arrives as Bo explains to Hope that he was very worried about her. As Caroline calls and Hope arranges for Zack to stay over, Bo clues Shawn in that Hope doesn't know about the murder yet. After Bo is gone, Hope questions Shawn about what went on at the wedding to upset him. He tries to cover and explains his strange behavior due to the fact that he couldn't find her and feared that she had been kidnapped again. He asks why are the bad guys always after their family. Hope imagines she sees Larry walk in the front door, but wills him away. She goes over and locks the door, telling Shawn "He won't be back", then corrects herself and says "THEY". As Shawn goes to call Belle, Hope thinks to herself "He won't kill Bo...He can't…because he is DEAD!" (Hmmm…is she referring to Colin or Larry?)

At the Mansion…
Brandon calms Belle down after finding the body as Shawn rushes out, followed by Nicole, Victor, Jack, Jennifer and Fay. Jack suspiciously eyes Jennifer as Victor eyes Nicole. Victor asks if anyone has called an ambulance, but Brandon says it's too late…he's dead. Jack calls 911 as everyone sort of just looks around at each other (Nicole with a sort of half grin on her face). As Colin's body is covered, Shawn explains to Belle that his dad called and he has to go home and wants her to go along, but she can't leave for she is the one who found the body. He kisses her goodbye and leaves as we hear the sirens in the distance. Jack asks Jennifer if she knew Colin was dead and she says she wants to tell him something, but she doesn't because Abe, Roman and other cops arrive. Abe asks if there were any witnesses as everyone just looks around suspiciously. They question Belle and she explains she saw nothing but the body. Jennifer asks Jack "what are we going to do?" Roman questions Nicole and Victor about the guest list as Fay notices that Brandon has disappeared AGAIN. Roman and Abe discuss the guest list and talk about who was and wasn't there when the body was found. After talking with Belle again, they discover that Brandon was there when she found the body and pronounced him dead. Abe says he wants Brandon found as Fay declares that her son did NOT kill Dr. Murphy. One of the cops finds Nicole's veil outside as she tries to explain that she stepped outside for air and the wind blew it out of her hands. Kate and Sami come barging in with Sami immediately declaring her innocence. (Oh, come on, Sami…are you just BEGGING to get locked up?…NOT a good move on your part). She claims that Kate was accusing her as Kate explains that Sami tore out of there and crashed her car into a tree (just HOW does that girl afford insurance?) Sami demands to see Brandon and learns that he is missing. Bo arrives and gets an update from Abe that they actually have nothing yet. Bo explains that Hope is at home and not feeling well, so he called Shawn and that he can give his statement tomorrow. Abe wants to talk to Hope as well, but Bo asks him to leave her alone as she's still dealing with the emotional trauma of her own kidnapping. Bo says as far as Colin's death…it's no big loss. Sami defends Brandon's honor to Roman and he asks her where she was during the shooting and why did she come over to his place anyway? Abe wants to question Nicole some more, but goes to make a call.

Back at the Carver house, Brandon shows up at the door, needing to talk to Lexie. She talks about the shooting and asks him what happened. He tells her that he left and she informs him he could be in trouble for leaving the scene. Brandon says with Abe investigating, he would become the #1 suspect. Abe calls telling her that they are looking for Brandon. She lies and says she hasn't seen him. After she gets off the phone, she says she can't lie to Abe anymore and wants to know why he is there. He gets very upset with her and storms out, telling her if Abe calls back, tell him the KILLER was there.

After they bag Nicole's veil as evidence, Kate makes her way over, taunting Nicole. She says that she is just glad it wasn't herself that was shot and calls Nicole a "black widow". Victor asks Nicole if she noticed that her veil was ripped in two. Jennifer goes to the restroom to collect herself as Bo talks with Jack. Bo lets it slip that Colin was threatening to kill Jack. Jack asks if they will want to question Jenn and Bo gets a bit suspicious. Kate continues to taunt Nicole as Sami tries to explain her actions to her dad. Jack pulls Bo aside and says that he doesn't want them to question Jennifer. He says that he is not trying to protect HER…he is trying to protect himself. Jennifer walks up behind him and hears him say "I did it…I killed Colin Murphy!"…fade to black.

On the next Days of Our Lives…

Nicole is rushing by as Victor asks "Going somewhere my dear?"

Roman is sniffing his gun and tells Bo that it has been fired

Brandon (to Sami): We're both glad he's dead

Jack: "I killed Colin Murphy…no one else could have…end of story"

Hope sees the Spectator headline: "Dr. Colin Murphy Dead!" Freeze on her face…as the credits roll.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2003

Just as John & Marlena are finishing the family meeting about John & Tony being brothers, the twins arrive with flowers to welcome him to the DiMera family. He practically shuts the door in their faces, Rex tells him off about his treatment of them, Cassie says it's o.k. Tony & Marlena are their friends, as Tony said she'll be a mother to them. John flies off the handle, Brady & Belle take the twins away….John & Marlena have words. He realizes Tony is making them focus on other things….while actually trying to worm his way into Marlena's life. Like his father.

Shawn goes to see his grampa who is sleeping. He sits on the bed, and starts talking about the Bradys, then says he did something, and wishes he knew how to make it right. He flashes back to kneeling by Colin's body and picking up the gun. Cassie comes up, standing behind a bush and watching. Grampa Shawn wakes up, asking Shawn to tell him what he wants to make right….but Caroline comes in…..Belle is downstairs with Rex & Cassie.

Tony is in the library, when Bart arrives with Sami slung over his shoulder, kicking and screaming. She smacks him one when he sets her down. Tony wanted to thank her for sicking the cops on him. Sami is furious, but blurts out about Roman's gun, they argue back and forth, he wants her to realize her full potential and dump Brandon. She storms off, he runs after and grabs her in the open doorway, kissing her. She is started, and there is Brady, wanting to know what is going on. He fills Sami in about the brotherhood between John & Tony, which only makes Tony smirk, and say Sami is a terrible liar, that he just told her that. He shuts the door, smiling as he comments how Sami is going to help him with Marlena, and Brady with John. Outside Sami swears to Brady there is nothing going on between her and Tony, but Brady thinks the lady doth protest too much.

Hope is asleep on the sofa, where Bo brought her after she fainted. She is again dreaming of Larry, and wakes up, startled. She & Bo have a long talk, Bo tries to get her to open up about what is bothering her. Good scenes here. She flashes back to several of her visions of Larry. Hope finally tells Bo all. She explains how he is always there, how she is seeing him everywhere, and people she knows morph into him. She also tells him about the wedding….how she heard Colin threaten to kill Bo, how he turned and morphed into Larry pointing a gun at her, how she ran into the house, getting startled by Shawn. (we see this in flashbacks.) Then she says, Jen was upset, they went outside to talk…….and she does not remember anything else until she was in the limo going home. Bo gets her to go to sleep again, telling himself…Damn you Welch, I didn't kill you after all. Hope dreams of Larry dead in the snow, only he morphs into Colin…..and she murmurs in her sleep…."Colin". Bo looks startled.

Episode #9477
Taped 12/17/02
Director - Phil Sogard

Hope and Shawn's flashbacks are a little longer...Chloe's test results come back..Sami and Lexie have words and one tries to strangle the other...and Bo realizes more then ever that Hope's got a problem.

HOSPITAL
Eugenia, the lab tech, gives Chloe’s blood test results to Craig. Judging by the look on her face, it’s not good news.

Lexie (now with a small tummy on her) and Celeste walk arm in arm chatting about buying a baby crib (guess they gave Isaac’s stuff all away?). Celeste insists on buying it (where does she get her $$??) and Lexie agrees finally. She tells her mom no one is going to manipulate her life anymore…she’s Abe’s wife and going to stay that way. Sami pops up from the next room saying she’s happy to hear that. She asks for a couple minutes alone with Lexie and she agrees, dispatching Celeste off to pick up her prenatal vitamins at the pharmacy. Sami asks for a truce between them. She always thought Lexie and Abe belonged together, yada yada, but Lexie has Sami’s number. She tells Sami the truth is they can’t stand each other. Sami calls her an ingrate and has helped her more then she knew, begging Abe to take her back. Lexie laughs, saying Sami cares about her and Abe being together about as much as “that cockroach crawling up your arm”. Sami starts batting at her sleeve and screaming until Lexie laughs Sami calls her nasty and Lexie knows the real Sami surfaced. The two exchange some name calling and Lexie tells Sami her selfishness will be her downfall. Sami excuses herself saying Lexie’s pregnancy hormones have turned her into a “cranky bitch” and Lexie tells Sami she’s just as tired at looking at her mean little face. Sami tells her she doesn’t need Lexie or anyone else’s advice about Brandon. They’re together, period. Lexie tells her she’s not good enough for Brandon. Sami asks if Lexie is good enough being a baby-snatching psycho? And her father was an evil sicko. Lexie promises to convince Brandon to leave Sami, setting Sami off to put her hands around Lexie’s neck and to start strangling her. Eugenia pulls them apart (guess Brenda’s on stress leave? Just kidding) and threatens to report Sami to Human Resources (OMG..too much reality here folks, ha!) She reminds Sami how Lexie was a respected doctor at the hospital once (yeah, for about two months after getting her MD). Sami and the Eugenia remind each other of what little secrets they know about each other. Eugenia agrees they’re even, but she better hope Lexie doesn’t report her on her own. Celeste arrives and learns what happened. They comment on how Sami’s caused other problems and if the walls could talk. Sami’s glad they can’t as she flashes back to talking to Eugenia in the lab to get the DNA test results and how she changed the results later on. (ok you hospital people, cool your jets, we know in reality it’s not that easy ;-) Eugenia tells Lexie how much she’s missed and Lexie suggests they have lunch soon and leaves. Celeste gets a bad vibe as Sami panics, listening around the corner. Sami overhears Lexie telling Celeste how she’s going to talk with Brandon about Sami’s latest stunt, convinced to break him and Sami up. Sami overhears.

Belle and Shawn are the last ones from the family at the hospital. Apparently Bo asked them to stay there in case Hope showed up. He calls Bo and learns that he still hadn’t heard from Hope and decides they should return to the pub to check on his grandfather. Belle notices he’s sweating (he just had the same black and white flashback), but he shines it off as it being too hot in there.

COP SHOP
Roman talks with his mother on the phone and confirms he won’t say anything to Pop to get him stirred up. Hanging up, he tells her he loves her. Kate walks in fresh from the office in her business suit and mink coat (standard wear for all lady execs, right?), overhearing the last part and asks how his dad is doing, saying John told her what happened (nice of John to touch base with the office). Teasing if she has a soft spot for him to rush over to check on him, she reminds him how he was there for her. He offers her coffee, but she jokes about how good precinct coffee is. They talk about Sami taking his gun and he asks if she wants him to put Sami over his knee and spank her, LOL. He doesn’t like his daughter being bad mouthed and she fires back about how they put her daughter in the line of fire working with the ISA. It’s bad enough her son’s joined the marines, now her daughter will be in dangerous situations too. He tells her Billie only does what she wants and had a choice. She agrees Billie loves police work. He tells Kate she needs to live her own life. She asks if he means with him? He mentions New Years Eve and asks for another date. She flips through her calendar, telling him sorry, she’s book for 2003 and heads out. He stops her, putting his cuffs on her and his arm, saying she’s under arrest for knowing and willfully resisting an officer and leading him on, then refusing another date. She’s stuck with him (said with a smile on his face and you can tell she’s kinda digging it).

WESLEY HOME
Chloe comes downstairs and tells Brady that Nancy is curled up napping with Honey and Sugar. She tells him that “evil” is not a genetic condition (he doesn’t know he’s not Stefano’s grandson yet). The two cuddle and assure each other they can get through anything as long as they have the other. We return to them kissing. Chloe wonders why Craig hasn’t called with her test results as he walks in, holding them in his hands. He tells her nothing’s changed, she’s still in remission. He goes to check on Nancy (after they all agree not to mention anything about what happened to Nancy) when the doorbell rings. It’s Belle and Shawn (after they leave the pub…see below). Craig heads back upstairs and Belle tells Brady about not being related to Stefano and Tony’s only John’s ½ brother as they share the same mother. Brady’s relieved. Belle suggests they head to the penthouse, but Brady asks Chloe to tell them her news about her father, but apologizes if she’s not ready. She agrees that Belle and Shawn have been so supportive and should know. She reels them in saying she even knows the man, etc., and they’re dying of curiosity until Craig walks downstairs saying it’s him. Nancy rings her bell and Craig tells them he has to make her a pineapple and peanut butter sandwich (LOL) as they all groan and he leaves. Belle can’t believe how everyone’s family tree is sprouting new limbs, but Brady reminds her they’re still family and hug. Shawn heads back to the pub and he and Belle agree to talk later.

AT THE PUB
Bo is alone in the pub, anxious about Hope’s whereabouts, when she walks in. She finally got his messages about his dad and wants to know his condition. Bo assures her he’s ok, but upset they couldn’t find her and asks what the hell’s going on (apparently a Brady favorite phrase). She tells him she went grocery shopping as they were out of food, remember? She checked on Zack, who’s still at Doug and Julie’s and they’re all having a good time. She explains it was faster to go shopping alone when he asks why she didn’t take Zack with her. Bo’s not convinced and sitting in a booth, tells her he thinks she has a problem. He wants to know what’s going on. Hope flashes back to different times she’s seen Larry, in the basement and in the mirror. She tells him she’s just been stressed out between the holidays and Colin’s murder. Bo mentions talking to Marlena and she thinks Hope’s suffering from some after affects from the kidnapping. He knows leaving Zack with someone else is not like Hope, no matter how she tries to rationalize it. She tells him she doesn’t want to cause her family any more worries. He asks about the wedding, what happened to her then? Her flashback this time is a little longer. She still hears Colin promising to kill Bo, but after he hangs up, he turns around and morphs into Larry Welch and points his gun at her. She uses the same excuse about leaving because she was tired, but Bo doesn’t believe it. She tells him she slipped out being he was Victor’s best man and didn’t want to disturb him. He asks if she saw anyone else before leaving and she tells him no, only Victor’s chauffeur (seems like HE’S the one to question Bo). He’s glad as he hoped she didn’t witness Colin’s murder. Shawn and Belle arrive and Shawn’s glad to see she’s alright. She tells him she was grocery shopping (Belle’s happy to have been right, but Shawn says it wasn’t at the mall, haha) and Hope clarifies only for groceries. Hope leaves to freshen up and Belle to check her voice mail. Bo and Shawn talk about Pop’s condition and he tells his son not to say anything about the note Colin left to Pop as it would only upset him. Shawn asks what they’ve found out about the murder. Bo tells his son they know what kind of gun shot Colin and have several suspects. He asks why Shawn’s so interested in this case (uh, could be cause it was a family member and he saw the body…I would be too). Shawn’s flashback also is extended to Hope walking into the mansion, clearly agitated and he puts his hand on her shoulder. Outside he remembers finding Belle after she found Colin’s body. Belle walks up saying she has to go pick up Brady at Chloe’s for their family meeting. Shawn offers to walk Belle to Chloe’s (or to her car). Hope wants to go see Pop, but Bo wants more answers first.

Bo tells her to be honest with him and he knows she’s going through something major. He wants to help. She sees Larry at the bar drinking beer and he tells her she won’t get away from him. Bo turns into Larry and he takes her hand. She tenses, closes her eyes and says STOP IT. When she opens her eyes, she sees Bo just looking at her in surprise. She rationalizes it as just being tired and leaves to go get Zack and take him home. She said she and Zack will take a nice nap together and she’ll be a new woman by the time he gets home for supper. She walks outside and sees Larry dead on the ground and calls out to Bo. He doesn’t hear her, but she’s looking down into the snow frightened and Bo walks out seeing this. He sees nothing, but we see her seeing Larry opening his eyes and looking at her, then coming towards her. She turns around to the safety of Bo’s arms, then faints…as we see the previews for tomorrow’s show….

Cassie and Rex deliver flowers to the penthouse (to John) to welcome him to the Dimera family.

Sami asks Tony what he wants from her….and he replies for her to learn her full potential…

Shawn sits on Pop Shawn’s bed …and as his grandfather sleeps, tells him he did something very wrong..

Hope asks Bo what he wants from her and he tells her he wants his wife back….

As the credits roll….

Episode #9476
Taped 12/16/02
Director - Herb Stein

Pop Shawn is taken to Salem Hospital, where the family gathers awaiting word; John explains his non-DiMera status to everyone, while Tony privately declares war on the Bradys, who all know the feud has now escalated.

THE PARAMEDICS have stabilized Shawn, and he is on the gurney, oxygen mask in place, and off to the hospital. Caroline goes along in the ambulance, and everyone leaves to go to the hospital. Cassie wants to go, too, but Rex stops her. She insists Shawn needs her. (This girl just cannot take a hint). Tony tries to dissuade her. Belle argues with Tony, Rex & Cassie, then she and Shawn leave. Tony finds himself alone in the Brady Pub with Rex & Cassie, finding it rather humorous. He goes on about Shawn being a barkeep, and takes the opportunity to further his "poor me" stance with the twins. His soliloquy, recounting how blame is placed on him for various things, including probably now blaming him for Shawn's attack, is masterful, as he talks about the Brady clan, every leprechaun loving one of them. (lol, as he looks around the bar, wondering why he feels like bursting into song…particularly When Irish Eyes Are Smiling) Cassie insists on going to hospital, and will go via "their" car (the one they got for Christmas….and obviously they both now have drivers' licenses…that was fast!) Outside, Rex once more tries to point out to Cassie the folly of attempting to follow Shawn D. around, but Cassie "is in love, and it is amazing", and refuses to give up. Inside, Tony tells himself that if you think John is upset with me now, just wait. He wanders around the pub, humming, looking at the various family pictures on the walls (never noticed them before!) and takes one of Shawn & Caroline down, smiles, puts it back, gets his coat, and leaves, even locking up….all the while humming and smiling.

AT THE HOSPITAL, everyone comes rushing in, but Caroline says Craig is running tests on Shawn and they must wait. Marlena goes to get tea for Caroline, as she is breaking down, worried about her husband. Roman, John & Bo talk of Tony coming into the Pub, and purposely antagonizing Shawn, causing his collapse. They talk of the feud, of Ireland where it all started, and Bo mentions being unable to find anything out when he went there a couple of years ago. John promises if Shawn doesn't win this battle, Tony will definitely pay. Craig comes out, allowing only Caroline in to see her husband. She goes in, talking to Shawn cheerfully, but he talks of having to be strong to fight the coming battle, and mark his words, it is coming with Tony DiMera. He gets agitated, and Caroline screams for the nurse. Medical personnel rush in.

John calls Brady, fills him in, canceling the family meeting. Marlena overhears Craig asking about if Chloe's test results have come back, and takes a few moments to talk with Craig. He fills her in on the nosebleed, and is clearly concerned, but cannot tell Nancy because of her blood pressure. Marlena empathizes, and tells him she is available any time he wants to talk. Shawn & Belle arrive, and Belle blows up at her father, for not telling them about being related to Tony, & will not even accept his explanation that the family meeting was about that. Bo & Roman also chime in, wanting to know why they were kept out of the loop, but Marlena says they wanted to tell their children first. John admits wanting to process the info himself, and gets Belle's permission to tell all right then. He explains how Daphne DiMera had an affair with an unknown man, while married to Stefano, (lol at Roman, saying who can blame her, being married to that man) and how she gave the child to Philomena, and he was legally adopted by the Alamaines. Everyone breathes this big sigh of relief that John shares NO DiMera blood with Tony.

Bo keeps trying to call Hope, but no answer on her cell phone. Shawn worries about her. Bo calls Julie, only to find Hope has not picked up Zack yet. Everyone is clearly concerned as to her whereabouts. Rex & Cassie arrive, talking to Belle & Shawn. Belle mentions NOT being a DiMera, Cassie doesn't understand, and Belle explains about Tony & her father only sharing a mother. Marlena watches them all, flashing back to Tony's asking her to be a mother to the twins. She tells herself she cannot do that. Roman, John & Bo talk of the note that Colin left, his fingerprints on the paper, and apparently his handwriting. John says that could be forged. Later Shawn hears Roman on phone, talking to PD about statements given after the murder….and has a flashback to telling Roman he saw nothing suspicious, while also flashing back to seeing Colin at the window. Bo keeps trying to call Hope.

John talks to Marlena about Tony's revenge on the Bradys, while Bo tells Belle & Shawn he cannot raise Hope. Belle tries to say Hope may be shopping at the mall, but Shawn will have none of that. Cassie & Rex rush up with Cassie trying to comfort Shawn, but he is firmly with Belle. Craig comes out, telling Caroline Shawn is going to be o.k., that if he stays quiet, and doesn't get agitated, takes the heart medication Craig is prescribing, they can take him home now. The family is overjoyed. Shawn and Belle embrace, as Cassie looks on, green with envy. Caroline goes in to talk happily with Shawn. He is clearly worried about his family, and Caroline tells him how John is NOT a DiMera, that he shares Daphne DiMera as a mother with Tony….not Stefano. Shawn is happy about that, but knows there is big trouble ahead

. AT DIMANSION, Tony arrives home to be greeted by Bart who has good news. John has dropped his request to have Daphne dug up. Tony smiles, commenting that he now realizes he has at least one ally - Marlena - who has obviously convinced John not to proceed. He & Bart banter back and forth a bit (love that Bart…he delivers his lines with such snap, crackle & pop) Tony admits how brilliantly Colin's note was forged, that paper from his room was used, thus his fingerprints on it. He gives Bart the money to deliver to the expert forger, & Bart takes one look, declaring he is in the wrong business…forgery is soooooo lucrative. LOL. He leaves…and Tony says to himself, but aloud, that the first shot has been fired. And "today is my declaration of war". He turns, looks at the urn on the mantle, saying "Hope you are pleased, Father. I will uphold the DiMera name if it is the last thing I do."

BACK AT THE HOSPITAL, Marlena & John are embracing, as she says she just wants the circle of hate to end with us, not the next generation. John tells her that war is the only way. To get peace for the family and kids, you're gonna have to let me fight it out. It is the only way to end this feud once and for all. AND THE PREVIEWS show……

Roman, with a big smile on his face, to Kate…..You came all this way cuz were concerned about me??

Bo to Hope…….We had a family emergency and we couldn't find you. What the hell is going on?

Lexie to Sami…..I know what you're up to Sami. It's not going to work. AND THE CREDITS ROLL.

Episode #9475
Tape date - 12/13/02
Director - Randy Robbins

A memorial for Colin is held at the Brady Pub and the family gathers out of respect more for Shawn then Colin. Tony crashes the memorial and makes a shocking announcement.

DIMANSION
Tony walks in to see the twins nestled near the fire trying to read a black book. Thinking he found Stefano’s diary, he panics, but learns it’s only the family bible that Cassie found in the Library. The DiMera family tree and pictures are in the bible as they talk about Stefano. He tells them how the new family (them) will help build on the old family. Cassie asks if there’s a picture of Stefano in the Bible and Tony has them sit down and look at it. Remembering his and John’s confrontation on the island about the DiMera crest on the wall and John’s accusing him of returning to take over the family business, he tells the twins that he is his father’s son. She asks about his grandparents and is told they died when Stefano was a little boy in Ireland. Rex mentions Shawn’s family came from Ireland too. Cassie finds a picture of Tony with Peter and Kristen when they were kids and he was about 14 years old. He explains who they were and how Kristen, who he also had married, was dead. He tells them she was stolen from him by John Black. Cassie quotes the bible about not coveting thy neighbor’s wife and to himself Tony says thou shall not covet thy brother’s wife either and now he will take Marlena from him…and that is the new convent for the house of DiMera..

Tony tells the twins he wants them to be happy and live their life to the fullest. He’s their guardian and that’s all he asks. Cassie suggests going to see Shawn and express their condolences, but Tony doesn’t agree that’s wise at the moment. He excuses himself for an appointment and Cassie decides to go see Shawn anyway. Lex tells her that Belle is there for Shawn and doesn’t need Cassie. Remembering her conversation to Rex at dotCom, Cassie is determined to get Shawn for herself. He asks where she was on New Years Eve and doesn’t like how she’s lied to him as she’s never done it before.

COLIN’S MEMORIAL AT THE PUB
Shawn and Caroline were up before dawn putting Colin’s casket onto a plane to Ireland. Shawn was upstairs on the phone with his sister Molly grieving as the family gathered out of respect for Shawn more then Colin. Caroline is concerned for her husband’s health. (poor Caroline, not only worried about her husband, but babysitting Zack at the same time). The family dresses in their best leather for the event as they have individual conversations. Hope keeps seeing Larry lounging around the pub as Bo and Marlena watch her acting strangely. Marlena tells Bo that Hope has to want therapy, they can’t force her into it. John, Bo and Roman tell Caroline about the letter Colin left pointing the finger at the Brady’s and how they figure Tony’s involved. Marlena startles Hope at the buffet and she excuses herself to take some food to Bo (uh Hope, the plates EMPTY). She walks away acting skittish, still seeing Larry. (wonder why Sami didn't attend?)

Chloe and Brady stand off in the background at the pub. She’ll miss Dr. Murphy, especially after meeting with her oncologist earlier who told her what she’s experiencing could be signs she’s coming out of remission. She is very in tune with her body and figures it’s back.

Belle’s worried about Shawn’s behavior as he we see him contining to have flashbacks about the night of the murder and even snapped at something she said. Marlena joins Belle as she stands alone and hugs her. The two talk about how Belle figures everyone is relieved Colin is dead. Marlena doubts Chloe thinks that and she was a colleague to Colin. They’re there to support the family. Belle doesn’t think Shawn should be there, she feels something is really wrong. All she can explain is that he’s more stressed then usual.

John and Marlena privately talk about if he’s going to have Daphne Dimera dug up. He tells her no, he’s accepted the fact he’s her son, but not in his heart. Brady asks what he was talking about and they cover saying something else. Brady’s about to ask Marlena to speak with Chloe, but Chloe joins them first, assuring them that’s not necessary. After they walk away, Chloe tells Brady she couldn’t live if something happened to Nancy or her baby sister because of her. Marlena tells John he needs to tell Brady and Belle that he’s Tony’s brother. He agrees, just not there. He asks Brady to come by the penthouse afterwards. Brady would rather be with Chloe, but agrees after John tells him it can’t wait and it’s family business.

Shawn joins Hope and questions her about why Zack’s being shuffled between grandparents (he’s with Doug and Julie during the memorial). He wonders why and asks what she remembers from the night of Colin’s murder. She remembers the same flashback, overhearing Colin saying he’s going to murder Bo. Belle joins them and asks to speak with Shawn. A relieved Hope said she wanted to call and check on Zack anyway. Bo joins her and says Pop’s on the phone with Aunt Molly, but as soon as he’s off, they’re outta there and going home to have some family time with Zack. She agrees and goes to pick up Zack herself. Outside Larry Welch watches Bo hugging Hope (in his Salem disguise of baseball hat and orange vest) through the window. He says poor Colin died before he could kill Bo. He promises the next family memorial will be for Bo. She tells Shawn D. she loves him and he was right and she’s going to get Zack. Hope tells Caroline goodbye and Caroline offers to walk out with her as she has to go to the dumpster out back anyway. Hope offers to take out the garbage and they head for the kitchen.

Chloe asks Brady to take her home as she’s getting tired. He tells her he loves her and she knows she’s able to handle this much better then she would have if it had happened years ago. He asks Belle if their dad asked her to the penthouse as well as she agrees, but was assured it’s nothing to worry about.

John tells Marlena he can’t complain when he sees what Chloe’s going through. Tony walks into the pub and is greeted by everyone staring at him. Bo reminds him the sign on the door said CLOSED. Tony glorifies Colin as a healer and suggests they extend themselves as Colin did. Cassie and Rex walk in and tell Tony they wanted to pay their respects as he obviously did. Belle thanks them and when Rex asks if they did wrong coming, Marlena speaks up saying they came to be with their friends and that’s okay. Belle takes them off to the buffet. The Brady Brothers decide to question Tony if he insists on staying, but Caroline asks they be hospitable. She offers to get him something to drink and although parched, said he’ll get it himself. The Brady Boys are not deterred and will find out what happened. Pop Shawn finally comes down to the pub and upset to see Tony there. He grabs his suit coat and asks why he’s there.

Cassie asks Belle if she was at the murder scene all night answering questions and happy to learn she was (and not with Shawn). Shawn wants the subject changed. Belle talks to Rex when he didn’t realize things were so bad between the Brady’s and DiMera’s and Cassie goes to Shawn, offering her help in any way. He tells her only his grandfather will miss Colin and she figures it’s good he’s dead then.

Hope puts the trash in the dumpster as Larry hides around the corner. She sees her faux Larry and demands he leave her alone as the real Larry watches. At first he thought she saw him, but realizes she didn’t. She tells herself Larry’s dead and to let it go as he eavesdrops. He realizes Hope’s nuts and haunted by his ghost. He can’t resist the most perfect torture of all.

Tony asks to speak with Marlena and John, then Marlena, refuse. Pop Shawn demands he leave his house and go straight to hell. He tells him he can burn in Hell himself. Tony takes the opportunity to ask if Shawn feels the same way about his brother. Shawn asks which one and Tony’s not surprised they didn’t know, says John Black. Cue shocked expressions on everyone’s faces, especially Belle’s and Brady’s, as they realize their father is a DiMera. The family starts to dispurse as Brady tells Chloe he’ll take her home. He asks Belle to tell dad he’ll be at the penthouse later. Marlena rushes over and tells Belle they’re going. Pop Shawn yells at Tony no, John’s one of ours too and they’ll fight him to the death ….as he grabs his chest and they help him to the floor as he moans. Shawn calls 911 for his grandfather as Tony stands there with a slight smirk on his face….as previews for tomorrow are shown….

Belle tells Shawn his grandfather will be okay, he has to be. Shawn disagrees saying if you’re a Brady you don’t get a fairytale ending (as Cassie listens from nearby)….

Bo, Roman and John comfort Caroline as Bo calls Tony a bastard and Roman knows Tony must have known what he was doing…

John promises if Shawn doesn’t win this battle, Tony will pay with his life…

Tony says JUST WAIT (looks like he’s in Rolf’s control room, but hard to tell) as the credits roll.

Episode #9474
Tape date - 12/12/02
Director - Phil Sogard

Jack & Jen have an emotional talk about what happened, the Wesley's happy evening at home gets turned upside down, and Salem P.D. fill John & Marlena in on the investigation thus far.

JENNIFER, in her bathrobe, listens as Jack talks to Jo on the phone. He hangs up, telling Jen that Jo will bring Abby home, so they do not have to go pick her up. Jen begins babbling a mile a minute about no food in house, market is closed, but deli is open, etc. Jack stops her, saying we have to talk before Abby comes home. Jen is very upset, wondering how she could have thought she could take on Colin alone, but Jack reassures her that he knows she was only thinking of saving his life. Jen is near tears, as she beats herself up about her decision, but Jack tells her that Colin victimized her, making her feel she had no other choice, just as Lawrence Alamaine victimized her years ago when he raped her. Jen says she has always thought that was the absolute worse time in her life, but now, this is. Jen questions what she did, and Jack asks how he can help her, but she doesn't think he can. He starts to leave, but she will not let him go. Jack talks of the New Year, that they saw it in together, and it is a new beginning. They kiss, and naturally, cue Abby to arrive. (Wonder why Jo didn't come in?) Everyone tells each other Happy New Year, and Abby begs Jen to let Daddy sleep overnite, since it is late, & he'd have to go home alone, etc. (LOL, since Jo was just there, but I love him staying over). Jack & Abby make a game of racing upstairs to put on PJ's, while Jen looks at then, then clasps her hands together, to whisper a "Thank You" prayer. She turns out the lights.

NANCY is comfortably ensconced on her sofa, when the doorbell rings. Craig comes out of the kitchen, to find Brady at the door. He & Chloe go for a walk, leaving the Wesleys to themselves. Nancy knows something is bothering Craig, and he finally tells her he thinks it important to get her hospital records from when she gave birth to Chloe. They could be important…but the papers need her signature. She agrees, and they begin to talk of a massage. LOL
Chloe & Brady are out in the snow and cold, walking along, wishing on a shooting star, talking of Colin and how life can be suddenly cut so short. Chloe says she wished for grey hair…..that she live long enough to acquire it. They suddenly come to a chopped down tree, & Chloe wonders what happened to it, as she flashes back to the carved inititals of PK & CL forver. Brady asks if it had special meaning, and she tells him of the initials. Then talks of that part of her life being over, and a new year is upon them, with good things. They kiss, she drops her gloves, bends over to pick them up, and her nose is bleeding. Brady hurries her home, and Chloe turns to look at the spot, saying "Nothing is forever"
Brady hurries her home, tells Craig, who insists they do a blood test. He tells them to go on to the hospital, and he will just tell Nancy he has to check on a patient.

THE COP SHOP is a busy place as Marlena arrives to see Bo, but he is in a meeting. John appears, both saying how they were trying to call the other. John apologizes for storming out of the apt. and mentions Tony being brought in for questioning. Marlena, not surprised, tells him of Tony's visit, looking for John. She continues on, saying that she thinks the exhumation is a mistake, that she is a doctor, studies the DNA results, and the sooner John accepts the results as true, the better. It will not change the man he is….and should he not let his mother rest in peace. She talks John out of the exhumation, and John says he just doesn't want to hate anyone.

In Abe's office, Bo says he thinks Colin's letter saying if anything happens to him, to check on the Brady family, is a fake. That since everyone knew that Bo did not care for Colin, it is redundant. Roman agrees. Lab results arrive, and apparently the handwriting is Colin's. Also, his fingerprints were all over it. Roman suggests that Colin could have been coerced into writing it. (Couldn't Colin's prints have been on the paper FIRST, before the letter was written. Hotel rooms always have paper in the desks) The DA comes in, insisting the Brady brothers be taken off the case. Abe has a fit, telling him that it is HIS department, Palmer has no authority, and go talk to the Commissioner. Roman says he was not even at the wedding, while Bo says all his movements have been accounted for. Palmer wonders about the rest of the Bradys, but Abe says they are all in the clear. He will leave now, but warns that if a Brady turns out to be responsible, he will NOT cut a deal.

John & Marlena come in, and get filled in on the investigation, so far. (wonder why, aren't they just civilians? Lol) They learn of the letter, the lab results, of Sami's involvement and how she ran to Tony. (They are not told what Sami saw, just that Colin was holding something on her). Also how she stole Roman's gun, accidentally fired it in the Salem parking lot, and returned it. Her story checks out. John realizes that once more that the Brady's are a target of the DiMeras. Roman tells John he is not a Brady, but John replies that anyone who attacks a Brady attacks him, that he is a Brady in his soul.

Bo & Marlena talk privately about Hope. He fills her in on Hope's strange behavior, beginning with when they were decorating the Christmas tree, and she went into basement, blood curdling scream, over a supposed mouse. (Hey, Bo……want to hear me scream for same reason? You bet!) He talks of how she doesn't want Zack at home, and how Hope left the wedding. Marlena suggests that if Hope is having problems, she may feel Zack is safer at the Bradys. Bo agrees that is plausible. Marlena asks if perhaps Hope came upon something at the wedding that scared or bothered her, but Bo replies that it could not be cause she would have told him. Marlena advised the family be supportive.

Meanwhile John & Roman talk of their intertwined past, and how they both suffered at the hands of the DiMeras. Roman agrees, but says at least John was able to keep the woman he loved. John suggests they work together against the common enemy, and Roman finds no fault in that, as they both look thru the window at Marlena talking to Bo. Marlena comes out, and tells John what a special man he is, her husband, her hero, and they kiss

The photos from the crime scene arrive, Bo, Abe and Roman talks of perhaps Victor being involved. He knew of the contract put out on him, & perhaps could have hired someone. (Like Niko, perhaps?) They agree to bring Victor in for questioning when he returns from honeymoon. Bo hates the idea his father could be remotely involved. Roman wonders why Pop Shawn wants to have a memorial service for Colin, but Bo reminds him that family important to Pop, and Colin was a cousin. They wonder if Tony would show up.
They comment that the more we narrow the suspects down, the more it looks like Tony. Bo moves some names around on the Suspect Board, pinning Victor's under Tony's, and takes a long look at Hope's before he moves it to the bottom….under the non-suspects section. Fade to black & white….as the previews for tomorrow come up and we see:

Chloe to Brady…"I'm feeling those chills again, I can't help thinking…..It's Back

Hope….sees Larry lounging at corner of the Brady bar

Belle to Shawn…."I know you're going through a really hard time, but is it Colin's death, or something else?"

FRIDAY, JANUARY 24, 2003****

Show No: 9483
Directed by: Roger Inman
Tape Date: various

Summary: Marlena regretfully tells the twins that she can't be their mother and one of them doesn't take the news that well…Brady hacks into the DiMera computer…and Tony plans a "life-altering experience" for him…Belle and Shawn plan to spend the night together…but not before he has a talk with Cassie…Hope is convinced that she killed Colin…but the real shooter is revealed and admits to it! (but was he the KILLER???)

At the Loft…
Brady is hard at it on the computer trying to hack into the DiMera server as Chloe tries to distract him. He gets lucky (on the computer that is) and gets in. Chloe tries to stop him, but there is a banging at the door…it's daddy John. Chloe lets him in as John is upset with Brady about what happened earlier at Hartley House. Brady refers to Tony as "Count Dracula" and says that he is luring Sami and Belle into the batcave. He warns Brady to stay out of it. After nervous glances between Brady and Chloe, John notices the computer and asks if he is too late. He goes into a dialogue about how Brady is always trying to protect the ones he loves if they are in trouble and believes it is because of his mother. John promises that he can handle this himself. He walks over and turns off the computer, which upsets Brady. John asks him to PLEASE stay out of it as Brady promises nothing will happen to him. After John leaves, Brady goes back to the computer (as Chloe tries to stop him) and realizes he still has the connection.

Meanwhile, over at the DiMansion secret room, Tony and Bart have realized that Brady has hacked in and Tony decides to set a trap for him. he tells Bart that he is going to give Brady just enough information to hang him. Bart doesn't understand, until Tony explains that it is a trick he learned from his father…let the hunter become the hunted. He tells Bart he wants him to arrange a "life-altering experience" for Brady Black.

Tony calls Brady, letting him know he is onto him and wants to meet with him and discuss it. They plan on meeting on Popham Road (?) near Salem Place. Bart informs Tony that it is all set as Tony says that Brady will never be the same after this. Chloe pleads with Brady not to go, but he is determined. With a kiss, he is gone. She rushes to the phone and calls the penthouse and tells John what is going on.

At the Penthouse…
Cassie and Rex show up to visit with Marlena. (Apparently she had called them). Cassie asks if she wants to tell them that they can call her "Mom". Marlena tries to talk them out of it and Cassie points out (what a lot of us have been saying all along) that she even looks like Marlena…even more than Belle. Marlena poo-poo's the idea, then the twins realize that she is trying to put them off. Cassie doesn't like what she is hearing and Rex tries to calm her down. Marlena explains that they don't need her like they once did, but Cassie is upset and says that Marlena has played the doctor role and her job is now done. She says that their real mother didn't want them…why should she? She storms out, saying that she doesn't need HER either. Rex goes after her, but she gets in the elevator and leaves. He goes back to Marlena, who says she is sorry. Rex and Marlena talk about how Cassie is so obsessed about family but he isn't that way and feels he can make it on his own. Marlena promises to always be a friend to them. He says that he admires her and would like to one day be a psychiatrist like her. Marlena hears Tony's words about not abandoning them as she again has the flashback of the white room, singing "Rock-a-bye Baby". Rex notices that she is shaken and asks why he and Cassie always upset her. She assures him that they have done nothing to upset her. He goes to leave and they hug, just as John walks in, asking what is he doing there. Rex says "leaving" and heads out. Marlena tells John she told the twins that she couldn't be a mother to them and asks where HE has been. He tells her about Brady and they both worry that he won't stay out it. She tells him about Cassie being upset and rushing out. John asks if she wishes she could be a mother to them. After John gets the call from Chloe, he rushes off. Later, Marlena is getting ready for bed and pulls out the picture of Cassie and Rex. She hears Tony's words about loving them. She says "You are right Tony…I do."

At the Brady House…
Hope is pacing the floor as Bo asks if she is okay. He goes upstairs to take Zack's teddy bear and watches her from the stairs. She hares Larry's voice telling her she killed Colin. Bo walks up, startling her, asking if it is happening again. She tries to convince him that she is okay and promises to see Marlena again. She changes the subject, trying to talk about the party, but Bo asks if she saw Larry again. She admits to it and Bo is upset she didn't tell him. She tells him about Larry saying she killed Colin. Zack cries and Bo offers to check on him, as Hope thinks that Bo doesn't trust her with her own child. While he is gone, she has flashbacks of seeing Larry's body in the snow, changing to Colin. She says Oh my GOD…I killed him…it's true. Bo walks up and asks here what is true? They sit as Hope explains about the night of the murder and how now it is coming back to her. She remembers going on the terrace and overhearing Colin say he was going to kill Bo and how he changed into Larry. She says she did it…she killed Colin Murphy. Bo assures her that she is all mixed up but she is convinced she did it, trying to protect Bo. Bo tries to convince her that it's not true, even though she has a huge chunk of time missing, she couldn't have done it. He tries to talk her out of it, but she is sure. She said she is convinced because of the blood on her hand when Bo found her at home…it must have been Colin's. She says if she did it, they must deal with it and that if she wasn't his wife, she would have already been arrested. She picks up the phone and says she is going to call Abe and make a statement as Bo tries to stop her.

Over at Tuscany…
Shawn is on the terrace outside as Belle joins him. Most of the guests have gone (including Alice) and Belle wants to know what is wrong with him. She tells him they can't have secrets and wants to help him…(by having sex?…yeah, right Belle…that will fix EVERYTHING;-) She suggests that they spend the night together and makes plans to meet at the dorm later. She says that tomorrow, they will fix everything together. Cassie has walked up and listens from the bushes as Belle asks him to give her twenty minutes and then come over. After Belle rushes off, Cassie comes up and tells him that they need to talk about the night of the murder. She tells him that she was there and saw him but hasn't told anyone, trying to protect him. She says that she saw him and Colin arguing (but couldn't hear what they were saying) and that she saw Shawn with a gun and pulling the trigger and Colin falling to the ground. She begs him to tell her that she imagined it all. He tells her it is true…he fought with Colin…held the gun and fired it. "God help me…I did it…I killed him!"

Belle arrives at the dorm and begins to clean her room as Rex comes in (as she is holding up a light blue teddy). She explains that Shawn is coming over and he says he is happy for them. He assures her that in time Cassie will get over her crush on Shawn as she rushes him out. She quickly cleans up and then calls for Rex to come down and tell her what he thinks. He comes in to the dark room with candles everywhere and is impressed. She tells him that Shawn is late and wonders where he is.

Down on Popham Road…
Tony waits for Brady and spots him across the street. Brady starts over just as Chloe rushes around the corner yelling for him to stop…she needs to tell him something. We see John in his car and saying "what the hell…" as Brady turns in the direction of the headlights. We see Tony rushing up and grabbing Brady and pushing him out of the way in slow motion…as the screen fades to black.

On the next Days of Our Lives…
Bo (telling Hope) he is NOT wrong…she did NOT kill Colin. She says she did and he must accept it.

Cassie (to Shawn): You were angry and scared and protecting your father. He says he pulled the trigger. Colin is dead and he is a murderer.

We hear Chloe's screams as Tony lies motionless in the road…

And the credits roll.

Show No: 9482

Tape Date: various

This wonderful episode all takes place at Tuscany where family and friends unite for Alice’s surprise 89th birthday party. The first half of the show is people arriving and the second half, the party. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW. Watch it and tape it..it’s a keeper with flashbacks of the good old DAYS and a well deserved acknowledgment of Salem's matriarch and such wonderful lady. The Early Edition, as do many others, have a warm spot in their heart and stand in line with others who have learned and loved Alice Horton over the years. This spoiler is proud to say she was able to tell Frances Reid that in person a few years ago when I was privileged to meet her. I'll never forget her surprised reaction when I told her how much Alice Horton has meant to me over the years. Bless you Alice and Bless you Frances!

This show was dedicated to Don De Simone.
Don was the show’s lighting director. He is now with MacDonald Carey, keeping an eye on Alice and Salem from above.

ALICE’S 89TH SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY

The family and close friends of Alice Horton gather at Tuscany for the surprise party as last minute preparations. Maggie and Dave (the head waiter) fuss with the flowers and food while Shawn and Mickey try to figure out the DVD player. Belle comes to the rescue (would love that flat panel tv they’ve got there, whoa!) Shawn avoids being around Belle too long during the whole show and escapes to get an extension cord, but really some fresh air. (glad Belle got rid of Cassie as she truly didn’t belong there). Jen and Maggie hope they will surprise Alice as Jack and Abby arrive. Sami and Brandon arrive and Maggie tells Sami how pretty she looks and Brandon so “GQ”. Sami says Roman’s so busy on the investigation he couldn’t make it. She asks Brandon never to become a cop (don’t think there’s much worry about THAT) as they never have time for their personal lives. Sami said Marlena sends her and John’s regrets as did Caroline as she’s busy taking care of Shawn (and Zack). Maggie understands, knowing how hard Shawn took Colin’s death. Sami figures he’ll understand after he learns what a double crossing, blackmailing slut Colin was. Maggie doesn’t flinch, just comments she didn’t think a man could be called that, LOL. Sami said for him it’s an exception and he got what he deserved.

A repeat of Hope carrying the box of box when someone (Bo) touches her shoulder. She hugs him and freaks about what’s happening to her as Larry realizes she’s more whacked out then he thought. Just one push and Fancy Face will go over the edge.

Jen and Jack look at a special photo book for Alice when Will and Lucas arrive. Jack whispers to Abby her favorite cousin is there as Abby moans, LOL! Lucas asks if Jack and Jen are back together and Abby replies they’re getting along and asks him not to jinx it (cute) Sami and Brandon rush up as she’s happy to see her son..she goes to hug him and she calls Will “baby” as he groans. Lucas said it’s not a “baby”, but a young man. Maggie grabs the kids to help in the kitchen. Lucas asks SCAMI (little nod to internet fans there) what she’s doing there being she’s not related to his grandmother. Jen and Jack escape, taking Brandon. Sami blows up at Lucas about that and said Will’s Alice’s grandson and she grew up next door to Alice. She spent more time with her then he has. He wished Gran’s good side had rubbed off on Sami. She threatens to smack that goatee right off his face if he doesn’t shape up.

Maggie gets a call from Lexie who apologizes for not feeling up to coming. Belle walks up, calling Brandon “sexy” (isn’t she dressed a little too casual for the event in blue jeans and sweater?). Shawn’s outside having flashbacks about finding Colin (family trait apparently) as he destructs Maggie’s shrubbery. Out front, Bo and Hope talk about her problem as Larry overhears and refers to Bo as BOZO (another nod to internet fans). She doesn’t want to ruin Gran’s party and Bo tells her Mrs. H. just wants Hope to be happy and she’s not alone. Together, they’ll beat this thing. Larry doesn’t agree.

Bo and Hope bring in the box as Jen joins them. She senses Hope’s mood as Bo signals for her to talk to her cousin. The two gals agree they need to be inspired from Gran. Belle joins Shawn on the patio as he continues destructing the bushes. He snips at her at first, saying she doesn’t need to follow him, but he stops her and she tells him to leave the plant alone or he’ll kill it. Larry overhears (busy guy), that he can tell her anything, she’s grown up and can handle things better now. He agrees he needs to tell someone. He tells her about his mom seeing Larry Welch and blacks out, not remembering things. She asks if there’s anything else he hasn’t told her. He tells her how disappointed he was that their New Years Eve plans were interrupted. She assures him it’s not a sign, everything will be okay. Larry smiles, saying this is almost too perfect.

Inside Bo and Hope talk about Zack with his sniffles at the pub as they sneak some appetizers. She tells him about throwing the vase at Shawn, but Alice arrives and everyone hides and turns out the lights. Julie and Doug are escorting Alice in as everyone jumps out yelling SURPRISE as the lights come on. Alice is truly surprised and touched as she throws a kiss and almost cries in happiness. The smiles and love her friends and family emit are obvious too.

We join the party after they’ve finished dinner. The fire is crackling as Julie and Doug promise a night of excitement. Alice asks what kind of excitement, ha..as they promise a special guest will appear later. Julie announces testimonials are first, beginning with her. She pulls out this huge book (older viewers will remember THIS IS YOUR LIFE, so similar to that). Julie said Alice Grayson was born on January 23 as Alice finishes with 1914 and was the daughter of Sid and Abigail (nodding to little Abigail) Grayson. When she was 21 she met Tom Horton. Together they had 5 wonderful children, Tom Jr., her and Hope’s mom Addy, Mickey, Bill and Marie. The grandchildren came next to cause more problems as Julie, Hope and Jennifer all agree and Jen apologizes for giving her the white hair, then the great grandchildren, but no great great grandchildren yet…as the camera pans on Shawn and Belle.

Julie turns it over to Maggie. Maggie said becoming a Horton was the luckiest day of her life. She tells how Alice opened her heart and home to her and made her hers. If everyone that Alice has helped over the years stood side by side, they’d reach around the world (how true that is, as her fans around the world have all learned something from this wonderful character I’m sure!) Everyone in the room raises their hand in agreement as Maggie jokes about their wonderful meal and hoped everyone enjoyed it. They all pipe in and she credits Alice with the mentoring in food preparation. Her nurturing covers all the bases. It starts with stomachs and ends up touching their souls. She hugs Alice and tells her she loves her. She tells everyone that when most people retire, Alice and Tom started a community center out of their home. She mentions Alice’s other careers as Bo speaks up about Alice being an undercover agent and gets up to tell everyone about when Alice helped to bust Roman out of jail as she knew they were trumped up charges We see a wonderful flashback of Bo stirring cake batter as Bo (in full beard and long hair) wants her to leave the kitchen as he puts the cell key in the batter so she won’t be implicated as an accessory. She refuses and back to present, he said Mrs. H. was the original Rebel WITH a cause. Alice laughs and Bo credits that’s how his wife got the gutsy nature and even became a cop when it wasn’t the thing to do then.

Mickey stands and calls his mom “unique”. He tells how his parents were surprised after 50 years to learn they weren’t married legally and he was privileged to be at their wedding. More wonderful flashbacks of Tom and Alice reciting their vows. We join Alice saying part of the vows and how she stood on the altar and mentions the candle in the window and how she like, that candle, wanted to be that for him. To light the way for him home. (sniff, sniff..Kleenex anyone??) Mickey recalls a special bouquet of white roses (flashback is shown) they gave her at one time..a rose for each child, grandchild and great grandchild). He announces their latest family additions will give her another bouquet as Abby and Will present her with 20 yellow roses. Parents of Will and Abby smile as they watch the presentation and everyone claps for Alice.

Julie makes a toast for all the good times in Alice’s life as wine glasses clink. Julie announces the mystery guest. She tells everyone that Dr. Tom Horton was a poet and loved to saunter in beret and disguise to the beach bar to recite his poems. His nom deplume (writing name) was Norm DePlume. The local tv station taped it, but Tom in a fit of modesty, wouldn’t let them run the tape. They still had it in their vaults and Shawn, resident genius, put on DVD format. They play the footage for all to see of Tom reciting a love poem written for Alice. We see Tom in blue beret and sunglasses and goatee (aha, must be where Lucas got it). We see everyone’s face as they watch, including Alice’s, all near tears, as Dr. Tom’s poem pleads with his wife to never stop dancing with him as he couldn’t bear it if she did.

Alice insists on seeing everyone kiss. They remind her it’s not a wedding, but it’s her birthday and her wish, so all the couples oblige…some more into it then others. Jen gives Jack as kiss on the cheek, which he promises never to wash again (aww).

Mickey goes to present gifts from friends and a few that couldn’t make it. The family decided to get her something that symbolizes her life so far..as Bo pipes in with “a new donut maker”, haha. They made donations to her name to charities. He pulls out a list and reads them.

Make a Wish Foundation (Bo and Hope)
The Heifer Foundation (Deveraux’s) (Jen clarifies that Abby bought a goat for a family in Guatemala so they could have milk)
The Horton Center (must be Maggie and Mickey) so they continue their good work (but where is it? Not in Alice’s home anymore)

Mickey announces that Alice has an announcement of her own. She’s endowed a Tom and Alice Horton Fund for the hospital to continue their good work. Mickey said that Alice is asking Lucas to administer the fund. Lucas is surprised (as is Sami). He, Maggie and Alice hope that Lucas will accept and he agrees. He kisses and hugs his gram for her confidence. Alice also asks that Jennifer and Hope co-chair the board for the foundation and they both are touched and agree as the hospital has done so much for their families. Jen tells Jack that she hopes she can do it. Jack tells her she’s her grandmother all over again…she’s got her grandmothers kind heart, same stubborn streak, same wonderful smile. Jennifer tells him that’s the sweetest thing anyone’s ever told her.

Lucas snipes to Sami they’ll be working together at the hospital as he’ll be handing out money and she’ll be serving him coffee, haha. Maggie announces it’s time to dance as the song “Always” plays. Belle turns to moody Shawn who finally takes her in his arms as other couples dance. Lucas goes to Alice and takes her hand and sits with her as she watches and remembers her younger years as we see flashbacks of her playing pool, hugging Hope at her and Tom’s wedding, putting Christmas balls on the tree, with her granddaughters during special moments and ending when Doug has her and Tom sing the end of the same song as his club (ooh, I’m literally getting goosebumps while watching). The song ends as she flashes to her and Tom dancing.

Julie and Maggie present the “Alice Horton Quilt”. It’s her life in quilt squares. They got everyone in the family to make a square representing something in Alice’s life and the hospital quilters (that Alice organized a long time ago) put it together. The family did a fine job I must say!!

Each square is identified. She asks if the first one is a donut, haha…but it’s a life preserver that Hope and Bo made to represent all the times she’s saved their lives. Hope goes and kisses her gran and tells her she loves her.

She asks if the second one is a donut and Doug and Julie agree partly, but it’s also a circle of life.

The 3rd one is a ruby and says “more precious than life” from Belle and Shawn

Mickey takes credit for the next one, the gavel as he learned right and wrong from his parents and became a lawyer because of it.

Maggie made a pair of red dancing shoes from her and Melissa because she taught them how important it is to do something you love.

Julie made a square of a brown haired angel to represent Addy

Abby made a tree with her and mommy’s name on it and Abby said she added daddy’s name after they got there tonight.

Jennifer made a candle to Alice to represent light your way.

The last square is a bone. Will said it’s from his dad to represent all those archeological expeditions he went on years ago. Mickey reads a note Bill sent as well, saying if his mom needs a new hobby, she can become a detective as Lord knows, no one could keep a secret from her. (Flash on Shawn’s face as he hears that). Jen said that’s so true and Jack asks if Gran inspired her to become a reporter. She tells him Gran called her nosy, but he’s the one to inspire her to become a reporter and together they’ll find the truth about who killed Colin. She won’t believe he’s dead and gone til they know who killed him. Hope overhears that as Doug worries if she’s ok. Hope steps outside for some fresh air (you would think by now they’d know it’s not safe to do that in Salem!) She tells herself outloud that Larry’s dead and buried (ah, he drowned in the river? Does that constitute “buried?”) She hears MURDERER and looks around, thinking she’s hearing things and flashes back to seeing Colin on the snow in front of the pub. She looks up, seeing Larry in his leather jacket as he tells her that she killed Colin Murphy, remember?

Inside the HUGE cake is carried in by Mickey and Dave. It’s beautiful. Belle thanks Shawn for bringing her. He hugs her as the family sings Happy Birthday to Alice. She asks Abby and Will to help her blow out all the candles. Outside Hope worries if she really did kill Colin as the previews for tomorrow’s show roll….

Cassie asks Marlena if she wants them to call her mom.
Brady’s sitting at his computer and says “I did it, he hacked into the computer” (Tony’s) as Chloe asks if that’s legal (oh, duh)
As Tony sitting at their computer, tells Bart that’s a breach of security…
Hope is startled by Bo as he knows it’s happening again…..

Episode #9481
Tape date - 1/7/03
Director - Roger Inman

Colin's murder is on the lips of all of Salem, as Victor & Nicole return home, Jack follows up on a lead, Fay talks to Brandon, Cassie gets inquisitive, Hope explains to Shawn, and family gathers to decorate Tuscany for Gran's surprise party.

BRANDON'S APT
Sami comes in, (guess she put in her 20 minutes on the job) and apologizes to Brandon for all she said earlier. She promises to try and be less insecure, they hug. A knock at the door, and it's Fay, wondering why Brandon hasn't returned her phone calls. She asks Sami for some privacy, and Sami leaves…of course staying out in hall to eavesdrop at the door. Fay says the papers are full of Colin's murder, and she wants Brandon to tell her he didn't do it. She reminds him how angry he was, that he said he would take care of Colin, went for a walk, didn't return, then was there when the body was found, but took off before the police arrived. Brandon gets ticked off at his mother, claiming he left cause he knew the cops would try to pin it on him, and tells her they brought him in for questioning and treated him like dirt. (Brandon…that is an outright lie….it was YOU who was wayyyyy out of line there) They argue, then Fay hugs him, saying she just wants him to be happy. Out in the hall, Sami starts to leave, gets a phone call. It is Jack, asking her to come to the Spectator. She leaves, with Fay leaving shortly after. Alone, Brandon paces a bit, then sweeps everything off a table. (Temper, temper, Brandon!). A bit later, Sami returns, telling him they have to get dressed to go to Gran's surprise party.

THE SPECTATOR
Jack is staring at the computer, Jen joins him, reading what is written, and saying the story has no focus. She goes to her office, Jack following, asking if she wants to put someone else on it. Nope, they are reporters, Colin's murder is a story, and they have to follow it.Jack tells Jen that in regard to Colin, that under the circumstances, she did the only thing she could. And it is o.k. They talk a bit, and Jack mentions moving back in. Jen is not quite ready for that….tho she has appreciated him being there. Jack tells her this cannot continue…..him staying a few days, moving in and out again. Not good for Abby. Jen realizes he is right. They talk over the list of suspects, and begin to focus on Nicole, and the time they saw Nik & Colin at Salem Place kissing, with a photographer shooting pics. Jen suddenly remembers she is late for the decorating of Tuscany, and takes off. Jack muses about Nicole, and then calls Sami, telling her he has a lead. Jack brings up the photos, but Sami admits Nik had something more on her, so she gave her the pics….without making copies. No time. But she remembers Colin telling Nicole he missed her between the sheets. She leaves, gleeful that she pointed the finger at Nik, which gets one thorn in her side out of the way, just wishing she could have done it to Lexie. Jack thinks over what he has learned.

THE KIRIAKIS MANSION
Henderson welcomes Nicole and Victor home from the honeymoon, hoping they enjoyed Portofino. Victor claims Nicole enjoyed all the shops of Portofino especially. Henderson leaves to unpack for them, and Vic comments how good it is to be home. Nicole retorts that one prison is as good as another……then complains how Victor watched her every move, even stationing someone outside the rest rooms. She is indignant. Victor picks up the paper, commenting on all that is going on with Colin's murder…..and it happened right on their terrace. He expects they will be questioned and hopes Nicole has a good alibi. She says this sounds like a game of Clue….Was Colonel Mustard in the gazebo with his gun, was Miss Scarlett on the terrace with her blowgun…..LOLOL. Victor comments on Nicole drinking so early in the day….then brings up the tape he has in the safe. Nicole throws it right back at him, saying it is a good reason for a jealous husband to do in the guy. Victor doesn't like that at all, takes her glass, smashing it against the fireplace…while telling her that it is good, therefore that spouses are not allowed to testify against each other.

HARTLEY HOUSE
Belle & Cassie are talking, with Cassie really pumping Belle about different things. Cassie says the Brady family must be cursed, citing all the things that have happened to them…Hope & Zack kidnapped, Colin murdered, Grampa Shawn getting sick, etc. She asks about crime suspects, and gets Belle to admit Tony DiMera is a suspect. Cassie vehemently denies Tony could possibly have killed Colin, then mentions the brooch he gave to Belle, and comments that Belle sure did not return it, and says something about Belle being a DiMera. Belle assures her Daphne was not a DiMera, just unfortunately happened to marry one. Cassie pries further into what Shawn gave Belle for Christmas……and Belle just says something nice, a special date, but it has been postponed. Cassie wants to know if they have set a further day (what a nosy minx, jeez). Belle says she has to meet Shawn and help decorate for Mrs. Horton's party, and pushy Cassie insists on going along.

BRADY HOME
Hope is on the phone to Caroline, inquiring about Zack. Outside, Larry is happy that Hope is alone, as he wants to surprise her with the ghost of Christmas Past. Inside, the door opens, Hope looks up, and it is Larry. Hope picks up a vase, throws it at him, and Shawn ducks, asking what the heck is wrong with her. Hope is beside herself….and tells Shawn all about how she sees Larry, She further tells him of getting help from Marlena, and not keeping this all to herself any longer. She tells him about the gap in her memory, and asks Shawn if he knows anything about her that night of the murder. Shawn denies knowing anything, just claiming to have looked for her everywhere, and how relieved he was to know she was safe at home. They leave to go to Tuscany, and outside talk of the party. Larry, listening, tells himself, how perfect…..Tuscany…where Hope can say averredecci (Italian for goodbye) to her sanity.

TUSCANY
Hope and Shawn arrive, with their boxes, to be greeted by Jen, Mickey & Maggie. Shortly thereafter, Belle & Cassie arrive. Jen & Hope talk of their problems, and seeking help. Jen mentions Jack & the lead they have on the murder. Shawn overhears and jumps in, asking all kinds of questions, and Hope wonders why he is so interested. Larry is skulking around outside. Later Belle talks to Hope, and Cassie takes the opportunity to tell Shawn she understands. He is a bit perplexed. Belle comes up, and outright tells Cassie that this party is for family & friends of Mrs. Horton. Cassie says she is a friend (boy you have to hit this gal over the head, huh?), but Belle tells her no, she isn't. Shawn says Belle is right….and Cassie finally takes the hint and flounces out. Shawn mentions that Belle wasn't very subtle, and Belle says, you can't be with her. (she has that right!) Outside Larry is getting impatient. Inside, more silk ribbons are needed, and Hope says they are in her car. She goes for the box, and drops it on the ground. As she kneels to pick it up, a hand is on her shoulder. She turns with a frightened face. Freeze frame.

and the previews show…….

Everyone at Tuscany yelling "SURPRISE" to a very shocked Alice, in the doorway. The look on her face is absolutely priceless….

Shawn telling Belle he has to talk to someone, has to tell someone

Bo telling Hope…you're not alone, We will beat this……while Larry, watching, says…..I don't think so

Episode #9480
Taped 1/06/03?
Director - Roy Steinberg?

Summary: Not really sure on the dates/director above…but sure that this is the first show taped after the holiday break. Actually kind of boring show…hardly a mention of Colin’s murder and/or suspects. Show centers mainly on the Black/DiMera families. Sorry for the brief writeup, but Linda had difficulties this morning and I’m doing this strictly from memory.

At the Black Penthouse
Marlena has the flashbacks again of being in the white room, singing “Rock a-bye-baby” and in real time begins to cry. John comes down and asks what’s wrong. She says what if Tony is right…then begins to talk about the legacy of hatred and violence and wants it to stop. But John believes that Tony has ulterior motives and wants to take her away. Marlena tries to persuade him that isn’t the case, but he fears for her and his children. There is quite a bit of dialogue here, with John going on about protecting her then she heads off to work. But in the hallway, she makes a call to someone, wanting to meet and talk. After she is gone, John also gets a call that upsets him and he rushes off.

At DiMansion…
Belle goes over to help Cassie and Rex pack to head back to school. But she is intercepted by Tony, who wants to talk with her. He had just been admiring the portrait of Marlena. He shows Belle a picture of Daphne and schmoozes with her. She warms up to him and he gives her a brooch that was her grandmothers. Cassie and Rex come down and watch/eavesdrop from the foyer. Cassie is a bit irritated by all this. Belle puts on the pin and the twins join Tony and Belle as Cassie admires the brooch.

Sami and Brandon…
Nothing new…same old, same old here. After spending the night with Brandon, Sami goes on and on about the relationship between Brandon and Lexie, even though he doesn’t want to discuss it. She wants him to promise to never have anything else to do with Lexie and he won’t do it, claiming she is his friend. Sami says that her mother left her dad for another man and it totally screwed up her life. When Brandon won’t give in, she goes to leave and says she will never come back. Sorry, but I can’t remember what else happened here, but I think Sami caved and didn’t leave.

Hartley House…
Brady and Chloe are helping Belle move back to the dorm (geez, what a HUGE trunk they are dragging) and Brady is upset because Belle is nowhere to be seen. (Well, I would be a bit po’d as well). Caprice tells Brady that Marlena told her about John/Tony being brothers. Belle shows up later (with the twins in tow). Brady is upset when he finds out where she has been and warns Tony to stay away from his family. (Note, Belle is NOT wearing the pin now.) Cassie starts inquiring about it as John shows up. Tony gives Belle the brooch (I don’t think John or Brady ever see it…it is in a box). Brady wants to help John in his battle with Tony, but John says he can handle it. John tells Tony to stay away from his family and his wife. As Tony leaves, he says “stay away from my wife…you took MY wife and now it’s time for payback.”

Marlena and Kate
It was Kate that she called and they meet somewhere for coffee (not sure where it is). They chit-chat about their children and then the conversation shifts towards Will and how difficult he has been. (Personally, I found this quite a boring conversation, but it IS good to see their friendship renewed…at one time they were VERY close and I feel that each of them need this type of friendship). They also talk about Marlena’s problems and she mentions something about being in terrible pain and not able to talk to John about it. She mentions Tony and something about Stefano holding her captive on the island. She also mentions remembering the lullabye and talks about how when she was held captive, she felt that she wasn’t there for Eric and Sami and how Sami has suffered because of it. Kate consoles her and says that they have both been victims of men who pretended to love them. By now both of the women are crying as Kate also talks about time she lost with her children. They hug as Marlena gets paged and has to leave. After Marlena is gone, Kate says that Marlena only lost time…but she lost so MUCH more…fade to black.

On the Next Days of Our Lives… (what I remember)

Hope is telling Shawn about seeing Larry everywhere…

As Larry is outside saying that Hope is going to get a visit from the ghost of Christmas past…

Episode #9479
Taped 12/19/02
Director - Herb Stein

Marlena confronts Tony, then counsels both Jennifer & Hope, Jack & Jennifer grow closer, while Roman's attempt at a date w/Kate turns sour and Larry begins his "ghostly" appearances.

TUSCANY
Two, four, six, eight, Kate & Roman out on a date, handcuffed together side by side, but Roman is someone Kate cannot abide. LOLOL….sorry, folks. Was just funny to see Roman drinking his beer, while Kate, huffily refuses anything, furious at being locked up. Roman tries to humorously get her in a better mood, but after she talks of wanting someone rich, sophisticated, cultured and not crass, mediocre, and a bore, he unlocks the cuffs, goes off to his table, inviting her to join him, if she gets hungry. But here's the waiter, bringing a bottle of champagne, courtesy of the gentleman at end of bar. Ah, tis Tony, all ready to jump into the fray. They banter a bit, and sit at a table, banter some more, while Tony plies her with champagne, and Kate figuring he wants to get her drunk and talking. Eventually Tony talks of whatever his father paid Kate to do, she tells him that was between them, and none of his business. He tells her he will double and even triple the amount, if she will tell him what it was, and Kate blows up, saying you DiMeras are all alike, and there is nothing more any of you will ever get from me. She stalks off, Tony tries to stop her, Roman jumps up to run interference, but Kate tells him to get lost, too.

JENNIFER'S HOME
Abbie is getting ready to leave for another sleepover at Vern & Jo's….she evidently loves to do so….wanting to give her parents some quality time together. (the kid is wise beyond her years, lol) and they see her off. Jen & Jack kiss, and it begins to get a bit pationate, when Jen pulls back, saying she cannot do this, she regrets every second of Colin, beginning all the way back to Africa, and wishes every second with him could just go away, and have never happened. Jack reminds her of when Abby was ill, got her bone marrow transplant, was cured, but how Jen worried she would get sick again, and he knew she would always worry….but eventually it got better, much better. Time heals, he assures her, and it will now, too. They talk of taking things slow, and having a lst date. Jack says much too cold for miniature golf, bowling is out…how about dinner & a movie. Jen says she promised to help Hope decorate for Gran's birthday. They both tell each other how crazy they are about the other one. (love their scenes) Jack goes with Jen to the Bradys.

DIMANSION
Marlena arrives, furious at Tony and tells him off about encouraging the twins to think of her as their mother. Tony claims to be looking out for the best interests of his wards. Marlena really rants at him, telling him to leave her out of his plans, she has her own family, etc. etc. She talks sarcastically of how Stefano may have acquired the babies, (steal, pay mother, etc.) the perfect specimens to be used as lab rats. (go, Marlena!) Tony pulls out a pic of Rex and Cassie, saying they gave it to him for Christmas, and he made a copy for her. He gives it to her, telling her not to abandon them like their mother did. (ooooh, Tony is sooooooo charmingly snaky). Marlena looks at the picture, and runs out. Tony says to himself, and you won't abandon me, either.

THE BRADYS.
Hope wakes up on the sofa, having been dreaming of Larry, dead in the snow, but morphing into Colin, and murmuring his name. Bo asks about her dream, but she claims not to remember. She is scared, that she is losing time, and blocking out memory. Jack & Jen arrive, and Hope is puzzled they did not call first. . Jen reminds her of their decorating plans, and Hope apologizes for forgetting. Decorations down in basement, so Jack & Bo go to get them.

We see Larry in his motel room (guess he has left the island, wonder if the cops ever found the Santa stuff that Shawn saw there) whitening his face, as he talks of really driving Hope nuts.

Jen tells Hope about she and Jack working their way back to each other, but begins to break down in tears. Just then Marlena arrives. Down in the basement, Jack is moaning about being unable to protect Jen, and he is besides himself, sending a few boxes flying. Bo tells him not to beat himself up, that his job is saving or protecting people all the time, yet he could not prevent his wife and son from being kidnapped, and they, too, are suffering the aftermath and working thru it.
Upstairs, Jennifer begins to confide in Marlena (poor Doc has her work cut out for her tonite), and Marlena tells her that she did what she had to do to save a loved one. That yes, she made a choice…but it was not her fault, and to say that aloud. Hope has gone to the door window, looks out, and there is Larry. She excuses herself to go into the kitchen to make tea, obviously panicky. Bo & Jack come up with all the boxes….and Jack hurries to Jen's side, seeing how upset she is. But she assures him that Marlena has helped. Bo sees Hope upset, and asks if she saw Larry again, and she says, yes, outside. She decided to tell Jack, Jen & Marlena about what she is going thru. Outside, Larry is rather gleeful, knowing Hope had seen him, and his plan is in motion. As he puts his hands in his pockets, a book of matches drops into the snow, unknown to him. (yay)
Marlena insists Hope talk to her now, so Jack & Jen leave, with Jen telling Marlena she will call her, as she wants to talk further. Marlena tells Hope to close her eyes, and remember the last time she saw Larry. Hope does so, recalling Larry standing outside, but comments that this time he seems different….more real. Bo quietly gets up and goes outside. Hope comes out, looking for him, knowing he was checking things out. Neither notices the book of matches (which now seem to be turned face up, with a logo on them (name of the motel???) They both go back in, thanking Marlena, who promises to call Hope to set up some appointments. She leaves, and Hope again tells Bo how this time Larry looked different

We see Larry, back in his room, removing his white makeup, and happily telling his mirror how he is going to drive Hope nuts.

Jack & Jen arrive home, where Jack offers to make popcorn, and put on a movie, Jen claims she'd fall asleep during the opening credits. He says o.kk, he'll draw her a hot bath, soap bubbles and all, massage her temples, and leave her to a good night's sleep alone. But she doesn't want to sleep alone. When he looks questioning at her, she tells him she isn't ready for anything else, but she wants him there, to hold her, hold her all night. She takes his hand, and they go upstairs together. (sigghhh...about time!)

Marlena is in her car, when she suddenly has a black & white flashback to being in a white room (like an operating room, with the huge light overhead), and she is in a bed, softly singing, "when the bough breaks, the cradle will fall, and down"…..and the scene shifts back to the car, with a tearful Marlena finishing "will come baby, cradle and all".

WEEK OF JANUARY 27, 2003

FRIDAY, JANUARY 31ST, 2003

Episode #9488
Taped - 1/16/03
Director - Randy Robbins

Summary: Sami works overtime trying to frame Nicole, but she gets caught in the act…As Shawn searches for answers, Belle makes a tough decision about her future…Jen makes a startling confession to Hope…not to be outdone, Hope makes an even more startling one herself…she confesses to murder!

Looking for Answers…
Shawn goes to the cemetery (shadowed by Cassie). She thinks it's creepy, but he says he is looking for answers. He visits his great-grandfather's grave (Dr. Tom Horton) and talks about how he doesn't remember him too well, but how Hope loved him as well as Alice, who always talks about feeling him near. He wishes he could seek his advice right now. He talks about one time when he was younger and was sick and had a dream about someone placing a hand on his forehead. He looked up and it was Tom. After that he felt better. He wishes he was there to help him now. He says Hope always says that with Addie (her mother) and Tom up there watching over them, she feels better. Looking upward, he asks what he should do. He feels a breeze and is sure that Tom is there with him. Cassie asks him if he got his answer. He says yes, it's just not the one he wanted. She wants to help him, but he says this is something he must do alone and leaves. Apparently, she is going deaf, because she follows him.

Meanwhile, Rex takes Belle back to the dorm as she whines about her problems with Shawn. She asks Rex to teach her to be independent and take things like he does. He tells her that being free has its price. She talks about how hard it is having a mother for a shrink and she ends up turning her into another one of her patients. Rex assures her that Marlena loves her, but Belle is having trouble with her advice. Rex admits that he is lonely but she says she has never seen him that way. He longs to "be hooked" on someone. She assures him that he will find someone someday. Then a nervous Rex tells Belle that he told Shawn that he would be no good at this. Belle is upset to learn that Shawn had told Rex about the breakup and asked him to watch after Belle. Rex asks if there is anything to do to help between her and Shawn, but she says no, if someone doesn’t want you, you can’t force yourself on them. (She calls Rex sweet for caring.) Penny shows up at the door with a special delivery letter for Belle. She is excited when she reads it and says this is what she needed. Latter, Cassie and Shawn show up and she tells them all that she had applied earlier for a school in Paris and was on a waiting list. This letter tells her that there is an opening and she is going. She will be leaving in 2 weeks and will be gone for 8 weeks.

Hope and Jen on Edge …
Bo and Hope return home from the hospital as she explains to him about seeing Larry and how he keeps calling her a murderer (as we see a cackling Larry applying the white make up). He is sure that she is freaked out enough to confess to murder. He says for the “piece de resistance”…and pours blood into his hand and smears it on the mirror. At home, Bo tries to keep an eye on Hope but she assures him that she is okay. He has to leave for a while and calls Jen to come over and sit with her. After he leaves, she picks up the paper and the headline screams “No Suspects in Colin Murphy Murder”. Outside, Larry watches from the bushes as Bo drives off in his truck. He has a bloody rag that he plants near the garbage can. Inside, Hope is cleaning up and heads outside with a bag of garbage.

At Jen's house, she gets home from work, feeling bad (Alice is with Abby). Jack thinks she has the flu, but she thinks not (as she has flashbacks of being in bed with Colin). Jack repeatedly asks what is wrong, but she gets the call from Bo and rushes over to be with Hope. Jack tries to stop her, but she goes anyway.

Framing Nicole…
Sami is o
