Episode#9678
Tape date – various
Director – Herb Stein

Summary: It’s Halloween evening in Salem…there is storm brewing and the killer is ready to strike again as everyone searches for a missing Rex. Call this one “Prelude to a Murder”

In Search of Rex…
Philip is at a costume party (dressed as Rocky?…he has on boxer trunks and gloves). Cassie arrives dressed in a cross between a dominatrix and Velma (Catherine Zetz-Jones from Chicago). She asks Philip if he likes and he comments that a LOT of guys like as all are standing around staring and making comments. She cracks her whip and Philip wonders why Rex and Mimi aren’t there yet. They argue over Rex’s innocence and Philip asks what if he is the killer and Cassie agrees that they need to stop him before he strikes again. They rush off to find him.

Meanwhile back at the loft, Mimi wants to go out and search for Rex, but they call his cell phone and find it ringing in the apartment. Shawn says that they must find him before it’s too late as Mimi argues that Rex is innocent. Shawn rushes out, followed by Mimi. They end up down on the docks as Mimi keeps saying that she is sure Rex is not a killer. Will walks up all down and out on his way home from the party. Shawn and Mimi offer to walk him home. But they get to Sami’s and she is no where to be found. Will checks over at Lucas’s and he isn’t there either. They decide to take him down to the pub.

Bonnie and Celeste
Earlier, Bonnie (dressed as a cross between Anna-Nicole Smith and a cowgirl ;-) She pulls out her cigarettes as someone walks up in a black robe and hood with a monster mask on. He pulls a gun on her and she pleads for her life and begins singing ‘Amazing Grace’ (LOL). It turns out that the gun is a cigarette lighter and he flicks it, getting a good laugh. But she is NOT amused and freaks out. After he leaves, a black cat comes running out and crosses right in front of her. She pulls out her “How to Survive Halloween” to find out how to break the curse. She reads (as she does it) “Spit three times, turn around and cross your toes…look left, then right and make sure the cat is out of sight. Don’t have a stroke, the spell is now broke. Stand up fast and MOVE YOUR ASS!” With that, she takes off running.

Celeste is at home doing a reading of her tarot cards and turns over the death card. She is sure that something bad is about to happen, the spirits are restless and evil is all around. There is a pounding at her door and she opens it to find a terrified Bonnie. Bonnie barges in babbling about what happened and asks for a drink. As she gulps down 2 of the mini-scotches she prattles on. Celeste gets a weird look and says “Oh no…it’s starting”. The lights start flashing, it’s thundering and lightening and the windows blow open, as Bonnie takes cover with some cushions from the sofa. Celeste calms her down and Bonnie sees the tarot cards and asks Celeste to read her fortune, but not here. She wants to go down to the pub where it’s safer and they can have some of Caroline Brady’s cheesecake. Celeste doesn’t really want to go, but Bonnie practically drags her out the door.

At the Pub…
Shawn and Mimi arrive with Will and are welcomed by Pop-Shawn (who explains that Caroline is helping out at St. Luke’s Halloween party). They ask if he has seen Rex, but he hasn’t. Philip and Cassie arrive as well. Cassie is trying to call Rex’s cell phone, but Shawn tells them about the phone. They are all worried about Maggie, so Shawn goes to call her and she assures him that she and Mickey are okay (see below). Philip says he has also called Victor’s and Henderson told him that neither he nor Nicole are at home either. Cassie calls DiMansion and learns that Mabel hasn’t seen either Tony or Rex either. So now they know that all 7 are missing and decide to go look for them…just as Celeste walks in and tells them that it is too late…the evil is already here. But they do not heed her warning and take off anyway.

At Mickey & Maggie’s…
There is a replay of Mickey on the phone with Marlena. He gets off the phone and reassures Maggie that nothing is going to happen to her…as we see the killer walking down the sidewalk in a hockey mask. (For the sake of my sanity, I am going to refer to the killer as a “he”…although there is no indication that it is). We KNOW it is the killer as he is having flashbacks of killing both Abe and Jack and of his attempt on Maggie. He stands outside their house looking through the window as he takes out a picture of Maggie and slashes it with the scalpel. Mickey gives her the sedative that Marlena prescribed and tries to calm her fears. They lighten up a bit and talk about Halloweens past. Wink, wink as Maggie remembers the time that Melissa wanted to dress up as Electra Woman (a character that Deidre Hall played on Saturday morning once upon a time) and that they wouldn’t let her because Mickey didn’t like the short sorts. Mickey assures her that they have a lot more memories to make but she isn’t so sure. Outside, the killer watches them through the window (we see the eye holes through his mask from his point of view and hear his heavy breathing). Maggie sees the cop’s flashlight outside (making rounds) as Mickey reassures her and suggests they go to bed for tomorrow is going to be a big day. They turn out the lights and head to bed as the killer reaches for the door knob. In their bedroom, they hear a noise that startles Maggie, so Mickey goes to check the back door. He activates the alarm system and as he looks up, the killer is standing right there looking in at him. Thinking it is a trick-or-treater, he tells him it is too late and to leave and besides, he is too old to be trick-or-treating. When Mickey looks back, he is gone. Outside, the cop scares off the killer who is hiding in the bushes. After Shawn calls to check on them (see above) Alice also calls. Maggie gets misty on the phone with her, telling her that she thinks of her like a mother and that she loves her. Mickey suggests that they go to bed, but he warns her that if she cannot sleep and roams the house NOT to let anyone in. As they get into bed, she talks about how all the suspects are either family, friends or patrons of Tuscany and doesn’t believe that it is one of them. Later, she can’t sleep and gets up and heads for the kitchen. Turning on the lights, she sits down and reads the paper at the table. She looks up and sees the killer at the window (who is not wearing the mask but has it in his hands). She smiles, happy to see them, when she sees their real face, but we do not see their face.

Back at the pub, Celeste is getting ready to Bonnie’s reading, but suddenly has an urge to call and check on Lexie, so she goes outside with her cell phone. While she is gone, Bonnie flips over one of the cards and it is the death card. Celeste calls Lexie and finds out she is okay, putting her mind at rest. Meanwhile, Mimi and Shawn go back to the loft, looking for Rex but he isn’t there. Shawn calls Hope (at the station) and tells her that all suspects are missing. After he hangs up the storm picks up, blowing open the windows and Mimi screems. Philip and Cassie are down at the docks, with Philip telling her that all signs point to Rex. The wind begins to blow and they take cover. Outside the pub, Celeste is bathed in a white glow and says “Death is about to claim its next victim.” Back at the Hortons, we only see Maggie from the killer’s point of view as she heads toward the door to let him in. She remembers Mickey’s warning, but decides that she is not going to live her life in fear, thinking that she is not going to be suspicious of people. She is SURE that the killer is not someone she knows. With that, she deactivates the alarm and opens the door, telling him that Mickey would have a fit if he knew she let someone in. She reactivates the alarm as the killer watches her and the screen turns blood red…and the previews roll…

On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Shawn is pleading with Mimi, telling her how dangerous Rex is. Mimi says “He is NOT a killer”…

Philip tells Cassie that they know the killer will strike again and he knows that she is scared out of her mind…

Maggie gasps “Your eyes…” and then “Oh my God…it’s YOU” as we see a raised whiskey bottle.

We then see Bo, Hope, Shawn, Mimi, Philip and Cassie all gathered around a computer as everyone gasps. Hope says “OH MY GOD!” as it flashes to the hockey mask…and the credits roll.

Episode#9679
Tape date – various
Director – Stephen Wyman

Summary: Halloween night continues as Maggie serves cheese and crackers to her guest as Shawn, Mimi, Rex and Cassie look for Rex. Hope and Bo man the cop shop office as an alarming live video arrives on the computer. At the end of the show the killer hits Maggie with the alcohol bottle as Mickey arrives... (kudos to Suzanne Rogers and John Clark for their performance today..it breaks our heart to see Maggie go)..

COP SHOP
Hope and Bo are working late at the station. Bo joins Hope in Roman's office (where are John and Roman I wonder?) by the suspect board as she tells him all 7 suspects are missing again (I wondered how she returned to the force after all these years and was made a detective, but now I know why if the others can't even follow someone). Bo talked to the person watching Maggie's house and confirmed all was well there. Hope tells him Shawn's at the loft and she's worried about him getting too involved. They realize their son has a combination of their own traits. He reassures her they'll get their old life back one of these days and she hopes her sons will realize how many good people there are in the world. Bo resents how many adults are running around in costumes nowadays which makes their jobs harder, especially tonight. He sends an officer down to the pier to look for anything suspicious. Bo and Hope see that someone hacked into the police server and a message from them is downloading (slowly). An eerie text message about seeing who their next victim will be scrolls across the screen as they wait for more. Hope returns from talking to computer tech at the station and it was confirmed that their system was hacked into, but they can't trace the sender until he logs back in again. Bo tries to read the file and a skeleton head dances on the screen and the words DEATH COMES UNEXPECTEDLY...as he calls in for another radio update from the guard. He is told all's well and orders the guy to patrol the whole house's perimeter to make sure.

ON THE PIER
Cassie shivers (gee, wonder why being almost naked) on the dock as she and Philip talk of Rex. The wind blows harder and Philip and Cassie hold on to each other.

BRADY PUB
A replay of Celeste excusing herself to call Lexie and Bonnie turning over the death card. Celeste gets the premonition that another death will occur soon. She stands outside in the wind knowing another murder is taking place. Inside Bonnie tells Lisa the waitress that it's so windy her cheesecake almost blew off the table (yeah, on a glass plate?) and she smushed it trying to keep it on the table. Lisa tells her it's on the house when Bonnie asks for a discount on it. Bonnie then hides the death card in her bra. Cassie and Philip arrive and Bonnie loves her outfit, saying she has one just like it at home. Cassie's mouth drops and she asks Philip if she knows who that woman is when they sit at their table? When he tells her Mimi's mother, she isn't surprised, saying she's trash just like her daughter (yeah, looks who's wearing the cheerleader outfit and who's dressed like a dominatrix and we'll see who's TRASH). Bonnie goes outside to remind Celeste about her reading and finds her in a trance. Celeste says the killer has captured her mind. They return inside and finish Bonnie's reading (we don't see it).

Philip realizes that Cassie's defense of her brother is more trying to convince herself he's innocent. She remembers asking him to tell her the truth about if he attacked Bo and Hope, then leaves to go find Rex, worried if he's in trouble or sick. Philip leaves $$ on the table to follow her.

SHAWN'S LOFT
Mimi and Shawn worry about Rex and where he is. Mimi defends Rex, saying she wouldn't be with a killer as Shawn is relentless in exclaiming Rex's guilt. She wonders why Rex bought that hockey mask, but figures it's halloween and is more worried about his headaches. She asks Shawn to be sensitive to her boyfriend, the person she loves more then anyone in the world. When he yells that Rex is a Dimera and she demands he's not (we know why, he doesn't). Shawn insists his family has to stop the DiMera's before they hurt anyone else. They leave the loft to try and find Rex.

HORTON HOME
A replay of Maggie letting the person she knew in and resetting the alarm, confident she's locked the killer outside again. Relieved to have company, she prepares tea and talks non stop as we see the killer holding a scalpel and a bottle of booze in their gloved hands. She rattles on while cutting a block of cheese with a huge knife, not concerned her visitor isn't speaking at all (she appears to be looking up at whoever it is). She tells whomever it is about being a rebel in her youth and how she remembers when she met Mickey, when she was an alcoholic and admits feeling like her life is flashing through her eyes just like they say it does when you're dying. She gets up to cut more cheese for their crackers and finds her knife is missing.

Hope calls the Horton home and Mickey wakes up and answers the phone. He tells her that Maggie must be downstairs as she couldn't sleep. He assures Hope everything's okay and Maggie's got a big session with Marlena the next day. Hope returns to Bo and they see another message appear asking if they want to see the next murder take place and a fuzzy video from a video camera shows a room on the monitor. They try to figure out where it is as Hope tells Officer Santos to have tech support trace the sender.

A knock on Maggie's back door has her look out to see it's the guard. She turns off the security system and reassures him all's well, she just has insomnia. She invites him to join them for cheese and crackers, but he doesn't hear her due to the noisy wind. She noticed her guest wasn't in the kitchen, but doesn't say anything to the guard about it when she turns around. He advises her power's been going off in the neighborhood due to the wind and not to be alarmed if hers does as well and leaves. Maggie forgets to set the alarm again. The killer videos Maggie as she finds the knife and cuts more cheese. She tells them she feels safe and is not afraid to die admitting she's had a good life. She feels like the safest woman in the world as she puts the knife down to get something. Later the lights are flickering as she assures her guest. The lights go out and she goes to get some candles, but the lights come back on again. She asks where their video camera is when she sees they're holding a bottle of booze. She mentions they don't serve alcohol in their home for obvious reasons and asks where they got it saying she thought they said they weren't going to any party that night (so apparently the other person talked, just not when we were listening). As they get closer she looks into their eyes and recognizes him/her, saying it's you just before they whack her with the bottle (we don't see it) and the screen dramatically goes black.

Hope calls Mickey back and warns him not to let Maggie open the door to any more trick or treaters tonight (just what time is it? I shut my light off after 8:30) and to be extra careful. Shawn and Mimi arrive and Hope's disturbed they left the loft, but Bo calls out he's got something on the computer. They all rush over and Shawn recognizes the frog magnet on Aunt Maggie's refrigerator as the picture's now clearer. Bo calls the guard on the radio as Hope tries to call Mickey again. She keeps getting a busy signal. Mickey sees the security system light is green, but figures it's due to the power going on and off and throws his robe on.

Meanwhile, we see Maggie sitting on the floor backed to the cabinets, bleeding from the head. She begs the killer to let her live as Mickey needs her (oh, she's breaking my heart...) She couldn't believe it would be someone she knew and now realizes she didn't know them as they're sick. We see the killer raise the bloodied alcohol bottle again as she screams.

Philip and Cassie show up at the cop shop, much to Bo's dismay. Shawn throws something across the room saying Rex is over at Aunt Maggie's house...as they all return to the monitor (Bo ordered units over to 1313 Mockingbird Lane in the mean time). Mimi tells them about seeing Maggie's kitchen as Shawn plays on the computer and gets the feed back up. They all gasp as they see a bloodied Maggie unconscious on her kitchen floor. Mickey rushes in the kitchen looking for Maggie and sees the door open. He goes to shut it and sees Maggie on the floor. He kneels next to her and we see the killer's still there and walks up to Mickey holding the scalpel. Mickey looks up, but the killer has their mask on again as he says "it's you"...as the previews roll for the next DOOL...

Bo and Hope head out to Maggie's house and Bo orders Shawn to stay close to the computer and let him know if anything else is sent...Shawn asks them to be careful...

Mickey looks up asking how they can do that to Maggie as the killer holds the scalpel in front of Mickey's face...

Shawn vows that whoever the killer is, friend, family or foe, will be stopped...

Celeste and Bonnie go to leave the pub. Bonnie turns and screams ...as the credits roll...

Episode #9680
Tape date – various
Director – Phil Sogard

Halloween night continues, as Bonnie’s antics provide some relief to the tension generated in this episode, as the killer continues to taunt the Salem P.D., who finally reach Maggie’s house.

AT THE PUB Celeste & Bonnie continue the tarot reading, but Celeste is fearful as all the cards come up the death card. Bonnie says that is impossible as she pulls one from her bra, but Celeste insists the spirits are restless. Bonnie insists she deal again, as this is a ripoff just like Ms. Cleo, who took her for $200 on that phone call (lololol) She tries dealing again, but the cards ALL continue to come up as the death cards. Bonnie is upset, and sneaks back of the bar to snitch a couple glasses of whiskey. (I’d be on my ear with just one of those..lol). Celeste leaves to confront the evil, & Bonnie joins her, talking about how this all can become MOW! Celeste is puzzled, til Bonnie explains she means Movie of the Week….and goes on about how they would split the money. Celeste gets her vibes again, and goes on about how the evil is taking souls before their time, and the dead don’t like it. She claims the dead are returning to seek retribution. Bonnie moans that she knew she should not have taken Jack’s suits, but covers when Celeste questions her. 3 guys in skeleton costumes appear, the gals run…..down to the docks. (Oh, yeah, just the perfect spot). They hide, as the “skeletons” burst out laughing at how they scared the old broads, etc. Suddenly, there is a whispering chant….Maggie, Maggie, Maggie, kill, kill, kill….repeated over and over. The skeletons run, while Bonnie & Celeste cower. Bonnie says she is going home, pulling covers over her head until this night is over, but Celeste says is is too late….for Maggie Horton.

AT COP SHOP Bo & Hope, Shawn & Mimi (Philip has taken Cassie for a walk – yeah, lame excuse, I know, and rather stupid) are watching the computer screen, seeing Maggie on floor, up against the counter. We now go to Maggie’s house, where Mickey is calling for Kent, the cop, to call 911, and turns to see the killer, scalpel in hand. Mickey rises, saying you are not going to get away with this, and takes on the killer. We see a shocked look on his face. Back to the cop shop, where the foursome see a dancing skeleton, and a high pitched voice saying, feast your eyes on this….as they see Mickey falling. Then the computer shows Mickey has also been propped up alongside Maggie. Bo frantically calls Kent, with no luck. Meanwhile, he learns that downed power lines, trees, etc. have blocked the normal route to Maggie’s home, so paramedics are taking longer than normal. On the computer screen, the killer’s face in the mask appears close up, then dissolves into a dancing skeleton, and a high-pitched sing song voice says “more to come, folks, much more to come”, then a maniacal laugh. Bo finally reaches Kent, and tells him the killer is in the house.

Kent goes in, finds Mickey & Maggie, calls the station. The killer comes in behind him, carrying something and strikes him. When Bo is unable to raise Kent, he & Hope both leave, ordering Shawn to stay on the computer and not to leave the station. (Like this hothead would listen!) Shawn & Mimi get into an argument about prayer, faith, God, good thoughts, etc, with Shawn berating it all, saying good people are being hurt and killed in spite of all this, & Mimi saying they must have faith. There has to be a reason. Shawn wants to leave to look for Rex, and goes anyway, despite Mimi’s reminder of what his parents had made his promise.

Bo & Hope arrive at the Horton home, find Mickey & Maggie, call paramedics. Lights finally flicker on, Maggie seems to come to, shuddering and moaning. The paramedics arrive, and they say Maggie has been bludgeoned, and has a deep stab wound. Mickey has small stab wounds to the left arm and right side. Hope comes across a wounded Kent. The medics say Mickey is not too bad, but Maggie is going to need a miracle, as they take them on gurneys to the waiting ambulance. Later, Hope is on the phone to Jen, telling her she has already called Lexie, but not Gran, and evidently Jen says she will do so. Bo finds a bloody rolling pin, one of the weapons (probably that was used on Kent) and then finds the whiskey bottle used on Maggie. He calls the station, saying he is sending the stuff for Tek to examine. The responding cop says Tek is off-site, but he will make sure he is waiting at the lab. Bo tells Hope to go with her aunt in the ambulance, but Hope says her job is here, and she intends to get the person responsible for attacking her family.

BACK ON THE DOCKS Bonnie notices the whispering voices have stopped, and she babbles on to Celeste about nice Mrs. Maggie Horton, how she got Bonnie other jobs, and has this fabulous wardrobe. Celeste calls Lexie, giving Bonnie the opportunity to have a little fantasy. She is in her maid’s uniform, mop in one hand, pail in the other, when she sees a vision…..it is Maggie as an angel, all in white, wings included. She has come to tell Bonnie something. Bonnie, fearful, says, you are not going to tell me I am…..as she literally kicks the bucket…lolol. Maggie says no, but I have left you something in my will. Bonnie gets excited, thinking perhaps it is perhaps her handsome husband (Maggie gives a shocking, NO!)….. Tuscany….but no, it is her wardrobe. Maggie (She is one fabulously beautiful woman, if it has not been mentioned before, yes I know it has, but she is!) waves her wand, and Bonnie is transformed, hair, makeup, wearing a beautiful, strapless, form fitting white gown, with some black designs in the bottom part that flares out from the knees. She looks gorgeous, but protests that she is a rather full-figured woman, and that the clothes would really not fit, that no one could ever take Maggie’s place, and to change her back. Maggie waves the wand, and Bonnie once more stands, mop in hand (why do I think of Cinderella here?), as Celeste comes up with the news about Maggie & Mickey being attacked. She says, the evil is here to stay.

They leave the docks, with Bonnie babbling about the spooky night, and stop in front of the costume shop, commenting how the masks and costumes are all so scary. Bonnie babbles about various horror movies, and they see the hockey mask, saying that was scariest of all, even with blinking eyes. Suddenly they realize that it is a reflection they are seeing, and the person is behind them. Scared as they are, they slowly turn around, and Bonnie screams to high heaven. Over at Salem Place, Shawn & Mimi hear the scream and run towards it. Meanwhile Bonnie decides it is just another person trying to scare older folks, and walks right up, confronting the guy, knocking the scalpel aside, commenting on not wanting to get her leather…..well, imitation leather jacket ruined. We see his view of her thru the eyes in the mask. Suddenly, both Celeste & Bonnie realize it is the killer, and run away, bumping into Shawn & Mimi, exclaiming about the killer. We see a figure with a hockey mask (no scalpel) come around the corner, turn and run away, and Shawn gives chase. The figure reaches a locked chain link fence, and Shawn is right behind him………as the previews for next show roll……

Sami to Lucas….I get it, I did it, I killed her

A cop to Shawn – Take off the mask, let’s see who it is, as Shawn rips off the mask and looks a bit stunned

Kate to Roman….You’re right, tonight I blew it. Am going to confess.

Jen & Hope at Maggie’s bedside. Her entire head is bandaged. Jen says, Do you know who did this, as Maggie says yes.

Episode #9681
Tape date – various
Director – Phil Sogard

Summary: Maggie Horton clings to life as the search for the suspects continues…Rex, Sami, Lucas and Kate are all located…with two of them coming across looking extremely guilty…first Sami, then Rex.

At the Cop Shop…

Roman is back and in charge at the station barking orders at everyone. He watches the video feeds of Mickey and Maggie being attacked (as we see more graphic images of Maggies attack than before), then they are seen being placed against the cabinet and the killer waves at the camera. Roman vows to come after the “bastard”. Later, he is on the phons with CSI going over the clues. Then he calls Kate, but gets her voice mail and prays that she has an alibi.

Later, he is on the docks and spots someone in a black coat and hood. As he sneaks up on them, he calls for backup. He pulls his gun and have the person turn around, only to find Kate. He asks his famous “what da hell?” is she doing out so late and where she has been. He calls and cancels the back up as Kate protests and proclaims her innocence. He informs her that she fits the description but she is a bit confused. He informs her about the attack on Mickey and Maggie as he is very suspicious of her. She says Maggie is a friend and she has no reason to attack her. They argue and she finally gives up, saying she blew it. Roman asks her if she is going to confess and she says yes, why not?…he has already tried and convicted her…just go ahead and lock her up. They sit down as he asks her where she has been. She tells him that she was at the pub with Will and later, went looking for Lucas but couldn’t find him. Roman suggests that they go together and look for Lucas and Sami. They go over to her apartment but she isn’t there. Kate spots a black hooded coat and points it out to Roman. Roman says that there is a killer among them and he is not going to go easy on them…whoever it is.

Sami & Lucas…
Earlier, Sami was in bed having a nightmare of Mickey and Maggie being attacked. Her entire dream was from the killer’s point of view. She wakes up screaming her head off as Lucas comes rushing in and wakes her. Hysterical, she says “I did it…I killed her”. She is disoriented, and starts wiping her hands, thinking there is blood all over her. He calms her down and finally gets her fully awake as she describes her vivid dream, all the way down to the whiskey bottle and scalpel. A shocked Lucas says it sounds like she is describing the scene and thinks she was there…therefore she must be the killer. She swears she wasn’t and gets very agitated and begins yelling at him to leave. They argue as Sami begins to slam Maggie for her fragile state of mind. She says you couldn’t even look at her without her crying. Sami says she knows personally how it feels to have someone trying to kill her, but she is the kind to fight back…not be afraid and cower like Maggie and cry at the drop of a hat. Lucas has heard enough and gets disgusted with Sami. But Sami says that maybe Lucas is afraid that Maggie would name him as the killer. Lucas tries to call over to the Horton’s to check on them, but Sami stops him. He decides it would be better to go over there and check on them. Sami jumps out of bed and begins to dress, demanding to go along.

Later, they arrive at Mickey and Maggies, and see cops crawling all over the place. Sami has more flashes from her dream as Lucas says it was NOT a dream…she tried to kill Maggie. Lucas demands to know what she did to his aunt Maggie, but she says nothing…it was just a dream. Sami asks if he is trying to cover up his own guilt and reminds him of the comment he made as he left the party and asks him about HIS alibi. They decide that being there is not a good idea and makes them both look guilty so they decide to leave before anyone sees them. Oops, too late. A cop walks up and recognizes them as being suspects in the other murders. He informs them that Mickey and Maggie were attacked. Lucas asks how it happened and he tells them about the murder weapons (oh, come on!). After the cop leaves, Lucas looks at Sami, saying he is sure she did it and accuses her of being the killer.

In Search of Rex…
Rex and Cassie are still on the docks looking for Rex as Shawn and Mimi chase the hooded figure down an alley. Philip and Cassie come rushing up as Philip and Shawn hold him down. Shawn pulls off the mask, but it isn’t Rex, as he was sure it was. It is some other kid, (Elliot something) that Mimi works with at the Java Café. Cassie knows him from school as well. He wants to know what is wrong with Shawn as he explains. But the guy says it’s Halloween, everyone is dressed up. They realize they have the wrong guy and Elliot says that it is Shawn that is psycho. Mimi is sure that Rex has an alibi. Shawn has an idea and takes off to look for him, with the other 3 following. They all end up at DiMansion and search the house. They find Rex upstairs asleep in his bed, but they can’t wake him up. Cassie explains he is wired that way and falls into these deep sleeps. Shawn and Philip look around and find a black hooded cape and hockey mask in the bathroom. Mimi asks Cassie what if Shawn is right and Rex did do it, but Cassie defends her brother. She whips out her cell phone, saying they need help and calls Marlena. But Marlena doesn’t answer (hmmm…wonder where she is) so she leaves a voice mail. Philip walks up and asks if she thinks he is guilty. Shawn tries to call Bo and Hope, but can’t get them either. Rex begins to wake up as they all gather around. Shawn asks him if he knows why they are there and he says yes, because Maggie Horton was attacked and she is dead (as everyone exchanges glances). Shawn and Philip jump all over that as Shawn is now sure that he is the killer.

At the Hospital…
Friends and family gather (and the group sure is getting smaller) as Lexie tends to a bandaged Maggie and vows to save her life. Jen, Alice and Caroline are there as Mickey is brought into the waiting area via wheelchair, saying he is okay. Lexie comes out and informs them that Maggie is suffering from some kind of hematoma and lost a lot of blood and her vitals are weak as Jen comforts Mickey. Lexie doesn’t want to offer false hope and says that there could be brain damage. Mickey begs to go to her as Lexie takes him in and Alice and Caroline comfort Jen. Caroline says that the killer struck to keep Maggie quiet. Mickey sits by her bedside (oh, heartbreaking) calling her “red” and begging her to live, saying she is his world and that he don’t know what he’d do without her :-(. Jen is on the phone with Hope, giving her an update as they bring Mickey back out and Alice says they need to pray. Caroline disappears for a while (I think she went to the chapel). Lexie tells Jen it doesn’t look good. There is a code blue (as Lexie rushes off) . Later, Alice and Caroline go to the chapel as Jen informs Mickey that she has talked to both her dad and Mike. She also tells him that she tried to call Melissa and Sara, but got their voice mails and didn’t want to leave this message. Instead she asked them to call her. She also tells him that she tried to call Lucas but couldn’t find him. Both of them find it hard to believe that Lucas could be guilty (as do I). But Mickey is sure that the attacker is someone that Maggie knew because she let them in. Lexie rushes out and tells them that Maggie is conscious and they rush into her room. Mickey tries to get her to talk, but she is just worried about him, noting the bruises on his face (this is breaking my heart here). Jen asks her if she knows who did this to her and she says yes, I do…the screen fades and the previews roll…

ON THE NEXT DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Hope tells Jen that she must go and question Mickey…on the video feed they saw him look up and say “YOU”…

Philip shakes Tony, calling his name. Tony jumps up and kicks Philip up against the wall…

Nicole tells Brady that he is the only person she can’t hide from…

Marlena tells Rex that they need to know if he had anything to do with the attack on Maggie. He says no and Shawn yells “LIAR!”…

And the credits roll…

Tape date – various
Director – Roger Inman

Summary: Jen, Hope, Mickey and Lexie surround Maggie hoping for the killer's name, Marlena and Tony join the spy kids as they question Rex, Brady and Nicole are caught yet again by Victor.

Hanging around the back alleys of Salem...
is another murder suspect, Nicole. Brady finds her (wearing a black hooded poncho that's zippered down the front) and blue jeans. She tosses what we see to be a hockey mask (with what appeared to be the 2 holes in the top like Rex's from the quick glimpse I got) into the convenient garbage can fire. Brady asks what she's doing. She admits burning a halloween mask that she wore when she left the house, saying she was able to walk amongst the crowd and not be stared or whispered about like she is during the daytime with her picture plastered on the front page of the newspaper as a murder suspect. Also, she never was able to dress up in a costume when she was a kid and wanted to see what it felt like. She whines about the $100K that Victor is giving her, saying he spends more on his cuff links. She mentions Maggie's hypnotherapy session with Marlena the next day, but Brady can tell and she admits, not being worried about Maggie now or ever because she didn't kill Abe or Jack. She doesn't want to talk about it anymore, just be alone. She explains she took the mask off as she realized she can't hide all her life and was just fooling herself. She asked herself what Marlena would say if she knew she was hiding behind a mask and probably needing psychoanalysis. Nicole tells Brady he's the only person she can't hide from. They talk about how he sees her as a good person, just doesn't have the faith in herself that she is. He blames her father, who only praised her to get his own way. He puts his jacket around her to warm her up and tells her she deserves to be loved and it's the only thing that matters in life. (being they're married in real life, you can see the warm smile they exchange is heart felt). Victor walks up and comments on finding them together again, but this time Brady has his clothes still on. He wants an explanation what's going on. He asks Nicole if she's decided to accept his terms for their divorce (knowing that means leaving town and never seeing Brady again) and saying out loud that he knows Brady will want to know when she's available. He knows damn well something's going on between them.

Back in the ICU...
Jen pleads with Maggie to tell them if she saw who the killer was. Lexie and Mickey are also there as Maggie watches them. Hope arrives and Lexie fills her in that Maggie's conscious and about to name the killer. Hope assures Maggie that she's safe (yeah, heard THAT before, huh Maggie?) and asks who it was. Maggie tries to speak, but only talks about Tuscany and she's got to open in an hour. Lexie explains Maggie's brain was deprived of oxygen and just rambling. They step out into the hallway. (Caroline and Alice must still be in the chapel as we don't see them at all today)

Mickey tells Jen and Hope about how he and Maggie shared some memories about their daughter, Sarah, before bed. Mickey had Maggie they'll have many more to come, but Maggie didn't think so as he tries not to break down (poor Mickey) Lexie tries to get Mickey to rest, but he doesn't want to leave Maggie's side and gets out of the wheelchair holding his side. Hope tells Jen that she questioned Officer Kent and he didn't see his attacker. She tells Jen about the video they witnessed and how Uncle Mickey looked up at the killer and said "it's you". The cousins comfort each other for a moment, wishing this were all over with. Hope hates to have to question Uncle Mickey at a time like this, but has to. Lexie asks Hope to try and get Mickey to rest in bed and she'll go back in with Maggie. Hope asks Mickey and he tells her about kneeling next to Maggie and stood up when the killer approached. He remembers back (as we see a flashback) of seeing the scalpel and the killer wearing their mask again. He asks about Officer Kent and Hope tells him both he and Officer Kent were lucky. They all look in to see Maggie asleep again, wishing she was as lucky. Lexie steps out saying there's no change in Maggie's condition. She's unconscious again and on oxygen. Mickey refuses to leave and Lexie steps back inside with Maggie. Hope asks why Maggie turned off the alarm. He remembers warning Maggie not to let anyone in. He tells them how trusting Maggie was and didn't believe any of the suspects was the killer and could have let any one of them in. Hope asks how he knew this and he tells them how they had talked before bed about it. Jen mentions some of the suspects like Nicole, Tony, Rex weren't close friends. He knows Maggie felt it inconceivable that anyone she either knew or loved would do this and he must be a madman. Hope picks up on that and figures Maggie subconsciously knew the killer was a man. Jen stops Hope before she calls Bo with that information, saying "he" is a generic term people use. Lexie rushes out, telling Mickey to get in there now.

DIMERA HOME
Marlena arrives after getting Cassie's message about Rex. She's dressed in a black and white jacket and skirt (why was she so dressed up on Halloween evening and where is John??) and Shawn (who is getting on my last nerve) starts ranting about how Rex is guilty and for the time Rex was conscious, admitted knowing that Maggie was dead. Marlena is surprised that he knew that (did SHE even know Maggie was attacked?) She tries to wake Rex up when Shawn pulls out his cell and tells them he's going to call his dad to come arrest Rex for the murders of Abe, Jack and Maggie. Marlena asks him not to until Rex wakes up and can explain. Shawn goes on about how Rex is guilty while Mimi defends him. Shawn tells her about how they saw the killer wearing the same outfit (well, similar outfit....take a look at the masks below Shawn) as the killer and about seeing the video from Maggie's home at the police station. He finally says they found Rex's outfit in the closet (and haven't touched it) and he's sure Rex is doing Tony's dirty work for him. They tell her that Cassie and Philip are off looking for Tony. Marlena finally calms Shawn down and he agrees to let her talk to Rex first. She sits on the bed and asks Rex to come towards her voice, it's his.... pause, mother. (In my opinion, a couple of months ago I think Shawn would have just slipped outside into the hall and quietly called Bo with Rex's whereabouts, not ranting on and on like this)

Cassie and Philip are down in the tunnels below the mansion. She takes him to the secret room she and Rex were ordered to stay out of. The door opens (not even locked?) and they go in. Philip said he can't believe it. They find Tony (all in black of course) meditating in a yoga pose with candles burning in front of him. Cassie tells Philip she and Rex followed him down there one time, but were under strict orders never to go there again. Philip figures he'd want to know his son was about to be arrested and gently nudges Tony's arm, calling his name. Tony gets up and karate kicks Philip up against the wall. Cassie tells Tony that Philip wasn't there to hurt him and to stop. Surprised that Tony had it in him, Tony admits he could have killed Philip without coming out of his trance. They tell him about Rex.

Rex finally wakes up, saying Marlena...Mom, and asks how long he's been sleeping. Shawn wastes no time in accusing Rex of killing Jack and Abe and attacking Maggie tonight when Tony, Philip and Cassie arrive. Marlena turns to see them and gasps at Cassie's outfit (LOL!!) as Cassie tries to close the jacket she's wearing a little (hey mom, she wasn't even wearing the jacket earlier, ha!). Tony demands everyone stop harrassing his son and orders anyone that's not family out of his house. Shawn refuses (big surprise there). He back talks Tony, calling him Dimera, and saying he wouldn't leave until he calls his dad to come arrest Rex. Philip stands protectively in front of Shawn and Tony reminds him not to get in his way again. Philip tells them how Tony roughed him up when he and Cassie found him. Tony explains he woke him up from his meditation (interesting how both Tony and Rex were in a meditative type state at the same time, isn't it?). Marlena softly tells Tony that's enough and Shawn to hang up the phone. She promises to have Tony arrested if he hurts anyone physically or verbally again. She asks Rex if he had anything to do with the attack on Maggie Horton. He says no and Shawn shouts LIAR. Rex defends himself, saying everyone knew Maggie was about to name the killer. Tony asks when Maggie was attacked and Marlena tells him 3-4 hours ago (why wasn't she at the hospital then? She wasn't there for Jennifer/Jack either.) Tony says he heard Rex come home before he went downstairs to meditate. Shawn jokes about this story having so many holes he should have brought his golf clubs and how far the DiMera's will go to cover their asses. One lies and the other one swears to it as Tony and Rex smile at each other. Philip asks Rex about why he didn't go to the halloween party. He said he got a headache and came home. Marlena orders them to stop and says the police will handle it from now on. Shawn agrees and goes to the closet to bag Rex's costume to log into the station as evidence. Rex agrees, saying it'll be the best way to prove his innocence. Shawn picks up the outfit with a hanger and we see wet blood on his outfit. Cue the music and shocked looked on everyone's faces
as the previews for the next DAYS OF OUR LIVES roll..

Tony asks Marlena what about the other suspects? Do they have an alibi? If there were damaging evidence again Sami, wouldn't she protect her daughter the same way he's protecting their son?

Sami and Marlena are talking at Sami's apartment. Marlena asks Sami if she had something to do with the attack on Maggie? Sami bursts out NO she asked for her mother's help, not for her to hang her for murder...

Lucas arrives at the hospital, asking Jen if he's too late. She asks him if he did this...

Shawn threatens Rex that if Aunt Maggie dies, he will make sure he pays....

as the credits roll.

Episode #9683
Tape date – various
Director – Albert Alarr

Summary: Maggie Horton passes away while surrounded by friends and family…longtime fans will be pleased to see the famous red shoes remembered in a tribute to her…Lucas learns of Kate’s secret…Marlena explains Sami’s dream…and the police arrest a suspect in the murder.

At the Cop Shop…
Shawn, Marlena, Tony, Rex and Mimi all come rushing in (Cassie and Philip must have gotten lost along the way as they are no where to be seen) with Shawn carrying a black garbage bag with the clothes from Rex’s room. Bo sends it to forensics as Shawn and Rex go through their daily argument. Bo gets a call from Hope at the hospital with news on Maggie and asks him to send Shawn over. Shawn vows to Rex that if his aunt Maggie dies, he will pay. Marlena has to step in and break them up, telling Shawn that he is needed at the hospital and he leaves. While they are waiting on the results, Bo wants to question Rex, but Tony objects. Rex assures him that he can handle it. Tony complains to Marlena about how Rex is being blamed because he is a DiMera and points out that she would be just as protective of Sami. Marlena prays that Sami is innocent and leaves. Bo and Rex return later as Tony asks Bo if he reached a verdict. Bo gets a call as Rex and Tony talk. Tony rails Rex out about leaving evidence behind but Rex claims that he didn’t know anything about the bloody clothes. Mimi notices a down and out Bo and asks what’s wrong. He tells them that he just got bad news..Maggie Horton has died. He swears to Rex that if that is Maggie’s blood on his clothes, the charge will be Murder One.

At the Hospital…
Hope and Jen worry about why Lexie came to get Mickey as they cling to each other watching through the window. Inside, Lexie tells Mickey that she doesn’t have much time left. After calling the station, Hope thinks that they should go and break the news to Alice. They find her and Caroline, back from the chapel, and tell her that it doesn’t look good. By her bedside, Mickey takes her hand and takes it really hard, blaming himself and wishing he could have helped her. He cries as he pledges his love for her. Later, the family (what’s left of them) are gathered around Maggie’s bed as Mickey says his goodbyes. Alice tells him that Maggie is okay now and that Tom will be watching over her…as his face appears over the monitor and then she flatlines. Everyone is crying as Mickey kisses her and says “goodnight my sweet Maggie” and she is bathed in a white glow. Later, Jen informs Hope that she spoke with both Melissa and Sarah and they are both worried about their dad. She decides that she needs to tell Abby the news and goes to call her. Hope talks with Mickey and vows that they will find her killer. Hope and Shawn leave to go back to the station. Mickey is worried about his mom, but Lexie informs him that she checked her over and she is doing fine…she is a strong woman. Lucas arrives…but too late and asks Jen about Maggie. Jen asks him if he is responsible. Lucas can’t believe she asked that…he loved Maggie and says that she is the best person he ever knew and how important to him she was. Alice walks up and tells Lucas that she believes he is innocent as he offers his condolences. She tells him that Mickey is the one that needs him right now and he goes to him. As they hug, both are crying as Mickey asks how could someone do this?

Earlier, At Sami’s Apartment…
she and Lucas arrived back home as he questions her about her dream. Lucas tells her that Maggie is important to him and if she dies and asks if she is responsible…just as Kate and Roman walk in. Roman asks Sami if she is the one who attacked Maggie as she can’t believe what he is asking. Roman has heard about her dream (I guess from that cop) and Sami goes silent. He demands to know where she was tonight. Lucas explains where they have been and then stands by Sami’s side, saying he doesn’t believe the mother of his son could be that vicious, infuriating Kate. Kate wonders if Sami would say the same of him and asks her if she thinks Lucas could have done it and Sami says no. This is where Lucas gets a call from Caroline telling him that Alice wants him to come to the hospital to be with the family and he rushes off.

Marlena shows up as Roman gets a phone call and informs them all that Maggie has just died. Sami goes to pieces, babbling that she saw the attack in her dream and that she doesn’t understand it. Kate says that is because she did it, but Sami declares she is innocent. Marlena sits her down and tries to figure it out. She asks Sami if she still sleeps with the radio on and Sami confirms that. Marlena is sure that she heard of the attack on the radio and that is how she knew about it and her subconscious was working overtime…she has seen it happen before. Sami is relieved and Roman thanks Marlena for her help. Roman and Marlena head back to the station to find out what Bo has learned, leaving Kate and Sami alone to argue as usual. In the heat of the argument, Sami asks Kate if Lucas knows her secret…that she was a filthy little whore for Stefano. The camera pans back to show Lucas standing in the doorway. Lucas asks her if it is true and Kate doesn’t deny it. Lucas asks if that is what Abe knew and was threatening to tell Roman? Sami tells him that he may not even be a Horton….Kate was a hooker and probably knows who his real father is. Kate tries to explain to him that she did it for him and her other children to give them a better life. Sami chimes in and says that Kate has quite a motive for murder. (Nah…I still don’t think so!)

Back at the Hospital…
Mickey sits by Maggie’s side and has some wonderful flashbacks of them. He has the one where she is in the hospital and he has gifts for her, one of them being the famous red shoes (long time viewers will note that she calls him “Marty” here) as he tells her that she was born to dance. Then there are scenes from their wedding (practically the entire wedding) including their vows to each other. A fitting tribute to a lovely lady and character. Oh, Maggie, you will be missed in Salem! Mickey then takes off her ring and kisses her hand. In the outer room, Caroline, Jen and Lexie talk as Caroline explains that Alice is down helping out in the nursery, to remind her that life does go on. Caroline has to leave as Jen thanks her for everything. Mickey comes out and tells Lexie that he has signed the release papers, but will NEVER release her from his heart. As they wheel her by on a gurney, Mickey reaches out and touches her covered head, then breaks down crying as Jennifer hugs him tightly.

Back at the Cop Shop…
Bo informs everyone that there are prints on the whiskey bottle that was used and that they are being run. Shawn and Hope walk in to hear this. Shawn starts on Rex again as Tony pulls Rex aside, telling him to stop taunting the cops. Later, Roman and Marlena arrive and tell Bo and Hope about Sami’s dream and Marlena’s theory. Mimi tells Rex that she believes he is innocent and Shawn (Geez, is he like a little snapping dog or what? Would someone slap a muzzle on him???) walks up, saying Rex is guilty and he is surprised that he hasn’t hurt Mimi yet. Bo tries to get Hope to go home and rest, but she refuses. She points out that Kate, Lucas and Sami have no alibis, but Bo points out that NONE of the suspects do. The results come in on the prints and as he reads them, he is shocked. In the outer office, Roman gets the results on Rex’s clothes and it is confirmed…it IS Maggie’s blood on them. He turns to Rex and says “you are under arrest for the murder of Maggie Horton. Focus on Rex’s face…as the previews roll.

ON THE NEXT DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Victor tells Brady to promise that he will never get involved with Nicole…

Nicole yells at Brady “I can’t believe that I ever trusted you!” and yanks away and stumbles with him falling on top of her…on the bed…

Bo tells a shocked Hope and Shawn that the prints on the bottle were Caroline Brady’s…Ma’s…

Behind bars, Rex tells Roman “You thought Stefano and Tony were bad…wait til you see what I am capable of…”

…and the credits roll…

Episode #9684
Taped – Various
Director – Herb Stein

Nicole puts the moves on Brady, Pop Shawn resents Vic’s visit, while Rex gets booked, and the teens seem to take over the cop shop.

LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU seems to be what Nicole is thinking, as she dons a sexy, black nitey, encouraged by her “other self” across the room, & sprays on perfume - “the cherry on the cake”, according to her other self. Out in the hall, Brady sniffs the air, and knocks on Nik’s door, calling her name. She opens it, asking him if he likes what he sees, and kisses him. He breaks away, saying no, but we see see her hand go down, & sound of a zipper, as he backs away, insisting "NO". He shows her the newspaper headline about Maggie, telling her the killer was dressed in black, wearing a Halloween mask (how come they don’t just say a hockey mask???) just like she was. Nicole gets angry at his questions, they struggle, fall on the bed, and kiss. Brady once more pulls away, as Nik puts on all the moves, saying he has had no one since Chloe, and she hasn’t had someone her age in ……She even drops her nitey, asking him if he likes what he sees, and to take what he wants. He refuses, putting a robe on her, whereupon she shows him some very sexy photos she had taken, intending to give to Victor at one time, but no longer. Just then Victor walks in, asking if Nicole is trying to seduce his grandson again, and then telling Brady he wants to talk to him. Brady leaves, Vic tells Nicole he wants those signed divorce papers, and follows Brady to his room. Nik eavesdrops as Vic apologizes for his behavior in the alley earlier, wanting only the best for Brady, making him promise to never get involved with Nik. Brady agrees and they shake on it, with Victor saying he hopes he sticks to it, as a man’s word is the only thing he takes to his grave.

Nicole scurries back to her room, muttering that Victor may have won the battle, but she will win the war. She puts the envelope containing her photos under Brady’s door, as he is inside doing situps( instead of the proverbial cold shower, lol). He throws them in the waste basket, as Nicole waits in her room, saying it will be a long nite. Brady finally retrieves them, looks at the photos, then has a fantasy of Nicole being there.

CAROLINE IS SITTING ALONE at a table in the Pub, thinking about losing Maggie, and rubbing her neck. Victor comes in (dressed all in black) and says she is in pain, to let him help, as he massages her neck. She talks about Maggie dying, and he, just a bit, of life with Nicole, his grandson, Brady, and he tells her of his impending divorce. He talks of Nicole & Brady, with Caroline saying he sounds jealous, but no, he is just worried about Brady, as Nicole is seductive and evil. He says he is getting his affairs in order, and making sure all the people he cares about are taken care of……& Caroline is one of those people. He talks of being so fortunate they share a child, but Caroline asks him not to go on any further. They clasp hands, just as Pop Shawn comes down the stairs and sees them. He asks Victor to let go of his wife’s hand, Vic apologizes, meaning no disrespect. Shawn asks him to leave and he does. (see above). Caroline tells Shawn he should not have been so rude, and they have words.

ROMAN IS BOOKING REX at the cop shop, for the murder of Maggie Horton. Cassie says Tony is getting an attorney, and Rex will be out of there. Tek shows Phil the video of Maggie’s attack, asking Phil if he could perhaps break it down, and they could get some clues. (Hold on here, just why do Phil, Mimi, Shawn, Cassie have the run of the police station? Why is Phil doing Tek’s work?) In another room, Bo gets the results of fingerprint tests on the whiskey bottle weapon (BTW…..Laney has noted that the brand of whiskey was called CRoMarty…Odd that the “RoMar is smack dab in the middle, huh?) & Shawn comes in asking to see the results. (Just WHO the heck does Shawn think he is, here?) Bo refuses, but tells both Hope & Shawn the fingerprints belong to Caroline. Shawn has a fit, claiming Rex is trying to put the blame on the Bradys. Bo goes to question his mother, as he would anyone else.
Rex gets fingerprinted, and pictures taken, and Roman takes him to his cell. Rex threatens Roman, saying if he thought Stefano & Tony were bad, he has not yet seen what he is capable of. Roman leaves, & Rex gets one of his headaches. Meanwhile, Cassie & Mimi argue a bit about the parentage of Rex & Cassie, and keeping the secret. Meems claims that secret is giving Rex his headaches. Cameron Reese arrives, wanting to see her innocent client. When Roman & Cameron arrive, Rex is throwing his cot around the cell, and obviously being violent. Reese is surprised, Rex is belligerent, telling her to buzz off, and Reese leaves in a huff. Rex says he will be out soon, & Roman asks what makes him think he would let a killer back on the street again…..resulting in a maniacal laugh from Rex.

Back in the other room, Cassie realizes Mimi thinks Rex may be guilty. Reese storms in, on the phone with Bart, who is fielding the call for Tony. Reese tells him to let the Count know that Rex looks very guilty, in her opinion. Meanwhile, Philip is trying to match the mask the killer wore with the one Rex had, and gets a serial number of Rex’s mask. (Awww, cmon, Philip. The Early Edition posted comparison pics last week, take a look…..they DIDN’T match! And we did not need serial #s. lolol) Cassie wants to see Rex, Roman gives the o.k., and when she leaves, warns Mimi about Rex. He tells her the young man has a lot of anger in him, & he is worried Rex could take it all out on Meems.
Philip, Tek, Hope & Shawn work on trying to match up the masks, when suddenly, on the computer, a skeleton head comes up, with the words “time’s up, this computer will explode in 2 seconds. They all hit the floor, as the computer blows up, and Phil claims even his backup is fried.

Back at the Pub, Bo arrives, telling his mom & pop all about Rex’s sweatshirt w/blood on sleeve that matches Maggie’s blood. And how they found the murder weapon, a whiskey bottle, and the only fingerprints on it are Caroline’s. (Wonder why the Salem P.D. has Caroline’s prints on file??) Both Shawn & Caroline are astonished. Bo asks her where she was earlier tonight (it is STILL Halloween, by the way) and Shawn says she was at the quilting party at St. Luke’s. They have it every Halloween. Bo forgot about that, saying he is sorry. Shawn says it is easy to verify, of course. But Caroline says, she didn’t go to the party.

Cassie is talking with Rex in his cell about the evidence. Rex isn’t worried, tho. He says there will be other murders, and the next victim has already been tagged. Closeup on Cassie’s worried face, as the previews show

Hope telling Bo it is not like his mother not to cooperate, with Bo saying she has a secret, and why won’t she tell me where she was.

Victor to Kate – I’ll destroy Sami for you, you destroy Nicole for me. Kate replies “Deal”, as they shake on it.

Sami to Lucas – Don’t know what I ever saw in you, to which Lucas replies…..a sperm donor. Sami blurts out “You bastard”, & Lucas yells, Get outta here and let me drink in peace.

Episode #9685
Taped – Various
Director – Roger Inman

It's finally November in Salem as a new day is finally here (even if they are 11 days behind the rest of the world, ha!). Kate and Victor shake hands on getting rid of the other's problem person; Caroline won't tell her family where she was when Maggie was attacked, but her alibi comes forward; Sami and Kate find Lucas drunk as Sami vows to sue for sole custody. Maggie died the night before, but Mickey rushes to take care of arrangements so her service can be held with Jack and Abe's later that day per her request.

Outside Lucas' apartment
Kate remembers what happened the night before when Lucas found out the truth about her past. We see what she remembers....Lucas takes it hard to learn his mother was a prostitute working for Stefano. Sami taunts Kate that there were other ways to earn money, such as waitressing, which Kate did until recently. Mentioning Maggie might have found out about Kate's past, perhaps Kate killed her to keep her from spreading that tidbit. Kate threatens to kill Sami if she doesn't shut up. Lucas cautions his mom about what she says being a murder suspect. He tells his mother to get out of the apartment as he doesn't want her near him or his son. We see her back to present, the next day, back to talk to him and pounds on his door. Sami walks out of her apartment and not surprised Lucas doesn't want to see his whore of a mother. The two bicker about promises and secrets being broken when Lucas opens the door, shirtless, just wearing his briefs. Sami comments on he's drunk and smells like the back alley of the Cheatin' Heart. Kate blames Sami for his being drunk, but Lucas tells his mother Sami only told the truth and proceeds to kiss the lips off Sami while Kate watches, shocked. Sami finally stops him, telling him to get a grip. They all walk into his apartment as we see a couple empty whiskey bottles (look to be Jim Beams, NOT like the one used on Maggie). Sami suggests that Lucas let his mom take him to an AA meeting today, but he angrily tells them he can't, that Maggie was his AA sponsor and he could call her day or night and she'd come to help him. He throws them out and Sami tells Kate she's going to see a lawyer for full custody of Will after the funeral. Kate tells herself she won't let that happen.

Sami returns to Lucas' apartment telling him what a pathetic loser he is. She sits there listening as he tells her that he use to feel sorry for Billie and Austin because of their rotten father, but he didn't even have his father, Bill Horton, there while HE was growing up. Now he doesn't know who his father is, suggesting a new reality show, Name My Dad and men should send in their DNA samples to see if they match. He asks Sami how she kept such a secret from him and didn't it burn a hole in her tongue? She takes the bottle away saying he has to stop and reminding him the last time he got drunk, he ended up in that fire. He asks why he should and she tells him..."because I need you". She clarifies she meant for Will. Lucas figures Will thinks they're guilty already and now his grandmother was a hooker. He doesn't see a reason to stay sober. They tell each other to go to hell and all she wanted was a one night stand, he's just a sperm donor. He asks her to let him drink in peace, but we later find her handing him a cup of coffee. He thanks her for not leaving, asking if she was worried about him. She only claims to be worried about her son's father turning into a disgusting drunk. He counters with his son's mother being a murderer. He knows she has suspicions about him and his mother. She warns him about sueing for full custody of Will and he throws a bottle at her as she goes to leave. She mentions it was the same way Maggie was killed and asks if he was too drunk to remember killing his own Aunt? (she was with him just after Maggie was killed when he woke her up out of her nightmare... and he was cold sober, whatsupwiththat comment?). After Sami leaves, Lucas searches for another bottle and finds it (this one might be the same label as the one used on Maggie..hard to tell). He toasts Maggie being she couldn't drink on earth. Will walks up to Lucas's apartment, looking for his key.

Back in her own apartment, Sami gets a warning call from Kate to stay away from her son. Sami vows Will shall never see Lucas drunk and she'd kill before he does, and hangs up. Kate tells herself Sami is a killer and must be stopped. Sami hears Will knocking on Lucas' door, calling out for him and rushes out.

Hope helps Mickey as he prepares for Maggie's funeral service,
he lays a red gown in a plastic bag over a chair. He explains it gives him comfort to fulfill Maggie's wishes of what she wanted....a service at St. Lukes with Abe and Jack and to be buried in that special dress. Hope hopes it's some consolation that Rex is behind bars now. He commends the Police for catching the killer, but says it's too late for his precious Maggie. Later they thank the funeral director and he leaves to go prepare for the service. (Jack and Abe have been lying there for weeks, yet they're rushing Maggie into her red dress for the service the day after?) Hope asks Mickey if it was Rex's eyes he saw. He tries to remember, but only remembers pure evil in the killer's eyes.

At the cop shop
Rex and Cassie talk at his cell. He suggests if someone else is killed while he's in jail, they'd have to release him..indicating to her the camera flashing above his cell, he asks if she knows what he means. Shawn, who has free roaming capability at the station apparently, strolls up saying he knows exactly what they're up to now. He yanks her out of the cell block into the next room (and then doesn't shut the door) demanding to know what Rex said in there. She tells him just that Rex's innocent and the truth will come out shortly. Shawn rants, knowing Rex asked her to do something, and wants to know what before someone else is killed. She proclaims Rex's innocence. Shawn figures out someone else has to be killed to prove Rex's innocent. Rex starts getting a headache and thinking who the next victim will be.

Kate bursts into Victor's study,
demanding he keep up his part of the deal they made. She tells him how Sami told Lucas the truth about her past and broke her bargain with him. She demands he blow that bitch off the earth today. They exchange problems..hers with Sami and his with Nicole over a cup of coffee. He promises to take care of Sami for her if she takes care of Nicole for him. She tells him it would be her pleasure and they shake hands to destroy Sami and Nicole for each other.

At the pub,

Bo and Roman meet with ma and pop. Bo gave ma some time to rest over night saying he didn't want to hassle her last night, but they need to know where she was at the time Maggie was murdered. She tells them she doesn't have an alibi, so go ahead and arrest her. Caroline holds her hands out to be handcuffed as her sons explain they just want the truth to help her. Pop figures their mom must have a good reason for not saying where she was and to let her be. Bo and Roman step away and talk when Bo figures someone must have stolen the whiskey bottle from the pub (well duh, that was our FIRST guess Bo). Pop overhears and shows them a piece of paper. He had ordered a new kind of whiskey and the first shipment arrived just last night. but a bottle showed up missing. Bo says they need to know who was in there last night. They try to remember, but state Halloween is one of their busiest nights (yet that must be why they both left the pub to go elsewhere, haha) and they recall Sami and Lucas were there, Kate stopped by to see Will (who's sitting in a booth behind them, absorbing all of this), and Nicole stopped by for a martini. Pop says he was out for a while too. He remembers Victor being there, but figures it was late and after Maggie had been killed..but he could have come by earlier as well. Roman asks what da hell Victor was there for, and Pop said he'll have to ask their mother about that. Caroline leaves, refusing to stand there and chat, saying she has things to do.

Later Hope arrives and is filled in on why Bo and Roman are there. Caroline steps over and explains that she didn't bartend last night and her prints couldn't have been on that bottle. Hope figures Caroline's prints were transferred to the bottle and the killer is setting Caroline up to be the next target (Will overhears this). Bo pleads with his mother to tell them where she was when Maggie was attacked. Hope fears the DiMera lawyers will force her to tell in court if she doesn't tell them now. She refuses, saying she can't tell, ever.

Back at the cop shop
Roman returns from the pub and visits Rex in his cell, asking for some answers. He asks why Rex set his mother up. Rex insists on being innocent and helpless to hurt anyone from jail when Roman grabs him by the shirt and tells him he better not be setting his mother up for the next victim. (nothing like telling the suspect everything you've found out). Rex sneers saying he'll explain his sweatshirt having Maggie's blood on it was due to bumping into her while jogging a week or two ago and she got a bloody nose and bled on his sweatshirt. Being a guy his age, he never got it washed. He says the burden of proof is on the prosecution. Roman vows to take him down. Shawn watches from the doorway, telling Cassie that Rex is like a caged animal. He's a Dimera coming after the Brady's and he says bring it on..the Brady's are ready to take him on any day of the week. Cassie listens, knowing that she and Rex are really Brady's, but doesn't say anything. She goes to say goodbye to Rex while Shawn asks Roman if Rex said anything useful. Roman tells him no and Shawn says he's keeping a close eye on Cassie as she said she'd do anything for her brother and won't let her pull a fast one on them from jail. Cassie suggests to Rex he tell Roman he's his father as he might not pursue his guilt as much. He all but tells her to kill someone to get him out of jail. She leaves to find Tony as Shawn visits Rex (so much for the close eye on Cassie). He grabs Rex and tells him he's not going to let him get away with anything.

Roman returns to the pub (must be next door)
and Hope explains her suspicion about Caroline being the next victim. She excuses herself to pick up Gran and Uncle Mickey for the service, saying she'll see them there. Roman insists Ma tell them where she was. Victor walks in and tells them he heard that Caroline's fingerprints were on the weapon that killed Maggie and that Caroline couldn't have done it as she was with him and he's her alibi. Bo, Roman and Pop all stare at Victor, then at Caroline.

ON THE NEXT DOOL

Shawn tells Mimi that not only is Rex a murderer, but he's getting ready to do it again....
Cassie tells Tony that Rex wants her to kill someone for him..
Bo and Hope get a message on Bo's palm pilot that someone else will die within the hour...with Abe, Jack and Maggies name on the screen and a ?

as the credits roll...

Episode #9686
Taped – Various
Director – Phil Sogard

Summary: As Salem gathers for triple funeral, the Bradys fear that their matriarch may be the next victim…Cassie frets over helping her brother…Sami and Lucas share a tender moment, which doesn’t go unnoticed by their son (cute scenes here for the ‘Lumi’ fans).

At Lucas’ Apartment…
Will is outside pounding on the door wanting in. Sami hears him and rushes over (in her bathrobe) trying to stop him, not wanting him to see Lucas drunk. Lucas finally storms out wanting to know what the hell is going on. They go inside as Will explains that he had called and was yelling for his dad and was worried that he may have been the next victim. Lucas tries to cover by saying he was working out and had on his headphones and didn’t hear. Will asks Sami if Lucas is drinking again. Sami covers and offers to make coffee. As Lucas goes to take a shower, she tries to explain to Will that his dad was upset over Maggie’s death. Yes, she actually defends Lucas! Will says that he learned that sometimes people black out when they drink and asks if his dad could be the killer. She explains that Lucas is taking Maggie’s death really hard and continues to defend him to her son. She says that together they can help him get through this. Will asks “you really do care about him don’t you?” She softly admits to it and promises that his dad will be okay. She rushes him over to her apartment to get ready for the funeral. After he leaves, Lucas comes out and tells Sami that he overheard and thanks her and that he cares about her as well. She says that she was only trying to comfort Will, but Lucas takes her face and softly kisses her on the lips (leaving shaving cream on her chin) and softly thanks her. A shaken Sami goes to get him coffee and threatens to pour every drop of liquor in the house down the drain. He makes it easy for her and gets out the hidden bottles and gives them to her. Later, Lucas is dressed in his suit as he thanks her again. Will returns and Sami rushes off to get dressed (Will points out the shaving cream on her chin). She nervously says she doesn’t know HOW that got there and Will says that happens when people kiss. (Big grin from Will). She brushes off her chin and rushes off as Will says “Way to go, Dad!” to a smiling Lucas.

At the Pub…
Shawn runs in to Mimi outside and he launches in to his daily mantra about Rex being the killer and Mimi does her regular song and dance defending him. (Same dialogue from 2 weeks ago). Shawn tells her that he saw Rex and Cassie talking and he suspects Rex has talked her into helping him. Mimi finds it hard to believe that Cassie would kill for Rex, says she has heard enough and heads into the pub.

At DiMansion…
Cassie and Tony talk about Rex and how worried she is about him. She tells Tony that she thinks Rex wants her to kill someone for him as she explains that if someone dies while he is in jail, he will be proved innocent. Tony agrees that she may be right. She asks Tony what to do because she wants to help her brother. Tony hugs her and tells her not to worry, he knows what to do. As they sit, he tells her to just be there for Rex and do the best she can to support him. He says something about getting ready for the funeral and she doesn’t really want to go. He admits he doesn’t want to be there as well, but thinks they should be there for Lexie and Theo. After Cassie leaves, Tony gets a call from “father” and tells him that Rex will be out of jail within 24 hours, saying he has the perfect way to prove his innocence. In the foyer, Cassie wrestles with herself over what to do and wonders if she could really kill someone in order to save Rex.

Back at the Pub…
Under pressure, Caroline admits that she and Victor were together at the time of Maggie’s attack but won’t say where/why. As Lexie and Jen enter the pub, the subject is changed and as they have a seat, Caroline goes to check on lunch. PopShawn stops her and demands to know if she and Victor are fooling around again and she denies it. PopShawn says that they made a fool of him once and Bo is the living proof. Caroline blows up, accusing them all of ganging up on her. Victor steps up to bat and offers to explain. He says that he and Nicole are having marital problems and he was confiding in Caroline. He says they were at the Java Café and the waitress can confirm it. (But wasn’t Maggie attacked really LATE at night?…is the Java Café still open at that time?) Anyway, Bo jumps in, telling Victor to just stay out of Ma’s life. ShawnD comes in and talks with Jen and Lexie a while, assuring them that they will make it through this. He asks about Abby and Theo (Abby is going to the funeral with Vern and Jo, Celeste has Theo). They decide to leave for the church as PopShawn continues to rant at Victor, who continues to defend Caroline. Victor tells them that he has a theory as to why Caroline’s prints were on the bottle…he feels that the killer is sending a message that Caroline may be the next victim. ShawnD overhears this and barks that NO ONE will kill a Brady. We see Mimi leave as Shawn tries to explain to Roman and his dad that he thinks that Rex has talked Cassie into helping him. PopShawn promises Caroline that nothing is going to happen to her (famous last words?) But Victor thinks that the killer is targeting Caroline because Roman and Bo are on the force. Roman and Bo seem to agree with Victor and Roman thanks him for his help. As Victor goes to leave, PopShawn warns him to stay away from his wife. Her sons and grandson vow to protect her. Caroline wants to go to the funerals and the Brady men assure her that she will be safe there. As they go to get ready Shawn reiterates his suspicion in Cassie and Tony. Bo promises that if anyone tries anything, he WILL use deadly force.

At the Church…
Hope and Mickey are there first as they walk in and see the 3 caskets lined up a the front all in a row. (All closed with pictures of each above them). Mickey breaks down as Hope vows to catch the person responsible and they pray together. Later, Hope is on the phone with the station asking for hourly updates on all the suspects. Mickey is by Maggie’s casket telling her goodbye as he gets a phone call from Melissa. She and Sara were on their way, but there is a terrible storm at the airport and it is shut down, so they aren’t going to make it. (How lame is THAT?)

Later, Jen and Lexie arrive as Hope assures them that the church is being protected. They are shocked to think that someone may try something during the funerals. Abby comes in (as Jo and Vern are parking the car) and refuses to talk to Jen, still blaming her. She informs her that she will sit with Jo and Vern…NOT her. Jen breaks down as Lexie and Hope try to comfort her. Jen and Lexie enter the sanctuary holding onto each other for support. Bo, Roman and Shawn arrive and Bo tells Hope that her theory may be right and they suspect that Caroline may be the next target. We then see Shawn and Caroline leaving the pub (hanging up a closed sign) under police escort…as a shadowy figure lurks around. Back to the church, Victor is now there and watches as Lucas Sami, and Will arrive. He stops Sami and tells her that she will suffer for breaking her promise and telling about Kate. Sami glares but never says a word to him. Jen sits beside Abby, who gets up and moves. Bo and Hope watch as Hope says her heart is breaking for ALL of them. Tony and Cassie arrive, with Tony explaining that they are there for Lexie and Theo’s sakes. Cassie says she needs to go and freshen up as Shawn is watching her. He jumps up and follows her, him followed by Mimi. PopShawn and Caroline arrive, assuring her boys that she is okay. She and Victor exchange looks as they take their seats and PopShawn shoots Victor a dirty look. At the back of the church, Bo gets a message on his PDA. It says “Death comes to the funeral”. Then 3 caskets appear with the names Abe, Jack and Maggie below them. Then another casket appears with a question mark below it. Bo and Hope stare in shock as it then says “the next death comes within the hour” and a countdown clock begins. Hope says “Oh my God Bo…when the clock hits Zero…” and he finishes “Someone will die!”…as the previews roll…

ON THE NEXT DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

We see Belle on the phone with Shawn telling him about someone being so handsome, she had to go all the way. Shawn asks “What did you say?”…

Jen asks Sami if she is admitting that she had a part in this? Sami says NO and the two of you (Jen and Lexie) make me sick…

Mimi is at the jail and tells Rex “Shawn is right…you ARE a killer!”. Rex grabs her through the bars and says “DON’T call me a killer!”

Hope and Bo are looking at his PDA and she asks if he is going to tell them WHO? Bo says “NO, NO!!”…and the credits roll…

Episode #9687
Taped – Various
Director – Andy Lee (another new director)

While the triple funeral service begins with the shortest eulogies in history (we ponder where John and Marlena are) Shawn and Mimi continue their own investigation following Cassie and talking to Rex. Kudos to Peggy McCay today as she shows the real stuff Caroline Brady is made of!!

At the revolving door to the jail cell...
Cassie returns to the police station to see Rex about his request of her. Shawn's following Cassie and Mimi following Shawn. Apparently Cassie found the back door to the jail cells as she's talking to Rex asking if he really wants her to kill someone for him. He asks for her keypad (palm pilot?) and tells her to watch and learn as he keys something into it. He hands it back to her telling her there's no other way. Shawn and Mimi hide behind the door to the jail (no guard of course) as Cassie strolls out, not seeing them. Mimi's finally convinced Rex may be guilty after Shawn tells her his grandmother is the next target. She takes the pen with recorder in it to try and get Rex to confess into it as he leaves to follow Cassie. Mimi walks in and kisses Rex, but he can tell she's not happy to see him. She tells him the last few days have been wild. He tells her they're about to get wilder. He tells her why someone else has to die and she tells him Shawn was right, he's a killer. He grabs her as she tries to leave, telling her not to call him a killer or she'll be sorry. He apologizes and kisses her, but she pulls the pen out of her pocket and tries to get him to tell her the truth. She drops the pen on the floor and he asks what it was.

Shawn follows Cassie down to the pier. His cellphone vibrates and it's Belle. We see her talking (from Rome). She heard about Maggie and tells him she'll come home on the next flight. He tells her no, he doesn't want her to, and Cassie hears a voice, asking if anyone's there. He talks to Belle softly, who comments her mother was so close to Maggie (just where are Marlena and John anyway??) and how much they miss each other. He watches Cassie go to the pay phone as Belle rattles on. She asks, and he tells her, about he's following Cassie and why. He tells her about the fingerprints on the bottle and his grandmother is the next target. They tell each other they love each other as he looks at the sky, startled.

ST. LUKES
Mickey, Jennifer and Lexie talk up front as Father Jensen tells Mickey that Alice wants to see him. Jen offers to go with him, worried about Gran, but he says he'll be fine. Pop Shawn and Caroline talk about hard this is, especially being they were so young and looking at her, he says it's hard to lose someone you love at any age. Sami arrives and gives her condolences to the widows. Neither are happy she's there and ask her to leave. Sami gets upset, saying the church doors are open to anyone no matter what they've done and refuses. She tells them they didn't deserve the wonderful men they were married to and they're better off in Heaven. Caroline jumps in and waving her finger at Sami, tells her to knock it off or she'll put her over her knee right there in that church (you rock Caroline!). She apologizes for her insensitive granddaughter and takes her away. She tells Sami she's not the only one who can be blunt and to put herself in other's shoes before speaking, reminding her it's not always about her all the time. What would happen if she weren't around to clean up her messes? Sami's startled at that, saying she needs her and she isn't going anywhere. Caroline tells Samantha Gene that she (Sami) has to be there for others and walks away. (will these last wise words from Grandma change Sami do ya think?)

Nicole arrives dressed in black wearing a big black hat. She joins Victor, who's sitting in the pew. When asked why she's there, being she wasn't a friend of any of theirs (was he?), she tells him to 1. show she's not a killer, 2. to show support for her husband and 3. to mourn the dead. He warns her not to make a mockery of his family's grief. She threatens to kill his old flame, the woman he's planning on replacing her with. (oh paleez) He warns her not before he'd put HER in an unmarked crypt first.

Celeste walks into the church rolling a stroller with little Theo in it. She gasps, feeling something. She goes into one of her dream like visions and walks up to a coffin. She wipes off the nameplate to find it's Caroline Brady's and there's blood, not dirt, on her hanky. Back to reality, Roman walks up asking if she's okay and she tells him someone he loves is going to die today. They go to the garden and she tells him what her premonition was. She can't remember whose name was on the 4th coffin at first, then remembers and tells him it's his mother. With the church surrounded, he doesn't feel that's possible and suggests she join Lexie. Lucas walks out to check his phone

Celeste joins Lexie and she can tell her mother had another premonition. She tells Lexie what she saw. Bo's palm pilot finally shows Caroline's name instead of the ? on his palm pilot. Roman joins them and they tell him what the message was. Caroline overhears and joins them, asking why her? (she's breaking my heart) He tells her exactly what the image said. She nervously jokes about her life is clicking away. She can't figure out why the killer would end his life. Bo remember's Shawn's theory about clearing Rex. Roman suggests they cancel the funeral, but she refuses that these three were taken before their prime. She doesn't want them to say anything to Pop Shawn about it as he's upset enough over Victor and worried about his heart (a little in shock herself) and they agree and escort her into the church.

Jennifer joins Jo and Vern who are with Abby. She thanks them for taking care of Abby and they go to talk to Pop Shawn to give Jen and Abby time alone. Jen tries to talk to Abby, even firmly, telling her not to walk away from her, but she does, refusing to have anything to do with her mother.

The service begins as everyone's seated. Hope sits in the front pew next to Jen while Roman and Bo stand guard at the rear of the church. A huge man arrives carrying something draped in black. Father Jansen stops his service and inquires, who has orders to display the arrangement he's carrying during the service. He takes it next to one of the coffins and undrapes a wreath saying REST IN PEACE CAROLINE BRADY as everyone gasps, especially Caroline. Roman calms the people and the man explains they received an envelope of cash with instructions. Bo tells the man to do his homework next time and points out Caroline Brady, who's very much alive. He wants that envelope and cash and we see a uniformed cop follow him out. Bo apologizes to Mickey, Jen and Lexie and they offer to cancel the service. Victor glares at Nicole, who tells him she had nothing to do with it. Roman has Caroline and Shawn in the vestibule. He demands to have police protection inside and out of the pub. Caroline's temper flares and refuses to go into hiding, saying the killer doesn't know who he's dealing with (didn't Maggie say about the same thing?) Bo warns her that the psycho has taken 3 lives already and they plead with her to listen. She breaks down into tears, saying she's going to bury her friends and no one is going to stop her. Bo wraps his arms around her and leads her back into the church. The service continues. Alice sees the candles flickering and Celeste leans forward. They hold hands, both knowing death is near.

Hope does Jack's eulogy. She tells them they all know how wonderful a person Jack was, but there's something they don't know, especially Jen, Abby, Jo and Vern and introduces Seth Caldwell. He comes to the podium and explains he lost his eyesight two years ago and Jack Deveraux gave it back to him. He got a corneal transplant from Jack and his life is a kaleidoscope of possibilities now. Abby hugs her mommy and they are both crying.

Bo and Roman watch the clock ticking down on his palm pilot. We return to see Roman eulogizing Abe, saying how much his family meant to him. Jennifer speaks for Maggie, saying how much she loved life and helping people. She loved Mickey Horton and still does. Her spirit will live on in everyone who knows her. As she sits down she asks Jo why it got so dark. Father Jansen reads from the 23 psalm when the lights go out, the candles go out and a wind blows the door open. Roman and Bo rush to check on their mother as Celeste stands up and screams NO.

BACK TO THE PIER
Shawn tells Belle it's like someone flipped a big switch and how dark it was. She asks like an eclipse and he said yeah, perfect time for a murder. He sees Cassie heading up the stairs and rushes after her.

A 4th coffin appears when the lights come on, just like in Celeste's premonition. Mickey wipes the name plate and gets blood on his hanky. It reads Caroline Brady, Beloved wife and mother. Caroline's fury has her demand the casket be opened. She asks the children be taken outside first and Lucas takes Will and Abby outside. They open the coffin to find a small skeleton with a red wig on it. It's holding a sign saying CAROLINE BRADY, YOU WILL REST IN PEACE as everyone, especially Caroline gasps....as the previews for the next Days of our Lives roll...

Hope tells Shawn Douglas not to take matters into his own hands... Cassie and Tony tell Shawn how would he like his family to see what it feels like. Shawn says Son of a Bitch and tries to slug Tony...

Mimi yells for someone to let Rex out of jail, it's an emergency. Rex tells her it's too late, the next victim is already dead...

Bo and Roman chase someone trying to leave the church and throw him to the floor. It's Victor...

as the credits roll...

Episode #9932
Taped 10/12/04
Director – Herb Stein

Summary: Sami blames John for her parents missing…Abby blames Jen for Jack missing…Bo and Hope are suspicious of Jan, who scrambles to cover the truth…Brandon decides to hang around Salem for Abe’s sake, much to Lexie’s dismay.

At the Deveraux Home…A disappointed Abby comes back downstairs and rushes to the kitchen looking for her dad. Jen tells her that he isn’t there and tries to explain to a bewildered Abby. Of course Abby blames her mother once again for losing her dad. In tears, Jen tries to tell her that Jack tired his best to get home to her. But an angry Abby says if she is to have one of her parents, why couldn’t it be him…she wishes it would have been HER that was dead. Patrick defends Jen and her friend Chelsea speaks up, telling her to be happy her mom is there. She tells them to shut up and runs upstairs. They are all worried about Abby and Chelsea leaves, telling Jen to have Abby call her later. Jen wants to go to Abby, but doesn’t know what to say, so she stands at the foot of the stairway and cries, saying she can’t go through all this again. Patrick hugs her, telling her to be strong. He promises to be there for her for as long as she needs. She worries about the baby growing up without a father as he tries to encourage her. She says she is lucky to have him in her life and as he cradles her face, tells her that he will always be there for her.

At the Brady House…Bo and Hope are worried about the other survivors and what they will tell their families. Shawn and Jan come in as Bo and Hope are still keeping one eye on her. Jan tells them that she and Shawn love each other. Hope asks about Belle, but Shawn tells them that he and Belle broke up, so get used to it. He tells them that Belle lied to him and he wants nothing to do with her. Jan informs them that it is SHE that took care of him after his accident but his folks aren’t buying it, thinking there is something wrong with him. Shawn tells them to just back off. Bo blasts him for talking to his mother like that and he apologizes to them, but they are sure something is wrong as they eye Jan. They talk privately as Jan listens. Hope vows to get to the bottom of it. Jan tries to get Shawn to take her home (to have sex), but he tells her to give it a rest and calls her stupid and storms off. Jan worries about his folks being cops and is sure that they will figure it out. She says that desperate times call for desperate measures. Later, she is crying and tells Shawn that seeing him with his folks makes her miss her own parents and how she doesn’t have a family. He swallows it hook, line and sinker and volunteers to take her home. He tells Bo and Hope goodnight as Jan rushes over and gives Bo a kiss and Hope a hug (LOL at the looks on their faces). As they leave, Bo asks “what the…?” As they leave, Hope is even more sure now that something is wrong and she is going to find out what. Outisde, Jan tells Shawn he will not regret it and kisses him, telling him she will always be by his side. Inside, Bo gets an urgent call from Billie about something they found on the disk. But Hope is worried and doesn’t want him to go down the station…she fears that something is wrong…it isn’t over yet.

At the Hospital…Belle is with her dad, sure he will be fine and that mom will come home. They talk about how happy she wasn’t the killer after all. John reveals that Brady stayed behind and is helping the Coast Guard with the search and assures Belle they will find her. He talks about how they ended up on the island and how Tony was responsible, and it was all because Tony wanted to destroy John. Belle asks where Tony is now and John says he killed him…he won’t bother then again. He tells her about their escape and how Marlena saved his life by tying him to the raft (insert flashbacks her of their goodbye). With tears streaming down his face, the tells her how her mom risked her life for him. He talks about the others missing too, including Victor and Caroline. Belle worries about Shawn too.

Meanwhile, Kate observes as Sami and Brandon have their reunion. Sami is hysterical to see Brandon there and wants him to leave Salem. Kate has flashbacks of promising Roman to get along with Sami. But she apologizes for breaking that promise…just as Lucas walks up, telling her that he heard the news. (Has Kate even CHECKED ON Billie yet???) He asks Kate about the news of Marlena and Roman missing. He asks if Sami knows and Kate says she isn’t sure. Lucas is going to find her and tell her…afraid she will fall apart when she finds out they are missing again.

Sami is furious that Brandon didn’t leave town, but he tells her he did, but his car broke down and he came back. He thinks she is nuts for believing Celeste’s prediction. He tells her he is glad he did return and goes to tell her about Abe, but Sami cuts him off. A nurse comes and gets Brandon (Lexie wants to see him) and he leaves. Sami vows not to let Brandon come between her and Lucas. Lucas walks up to tell her the news. He tries to get her to sit, but she just wants the news. He starts telling her about her parents and she is thrilled. She is in shock and wants to know where they are. He gives her a brief overview, but Sami wants to know where her mom is. She babbles on about how she was right all along, not giving Lucas a chance to finish. He finally tells her that they are missing, telling her they need to talk to John and she rushes off.

Brandon catches up with Lexie, who is filling out paperwork to get Abe into an eye clinic for more tests. They talk about keeping him positive. Brandon offers to stay in Salem a while longer, but Lexie wants him to leave now. He tells her that he has already run into Sami and they had round one and she worries about him. He swears he can handle it. Lexie is happy that Sami is miserable, but doesn’t want to see Brandon hurt again. Brandon talks about all the things that he and Abe missed together and wants to be there for him now. He says his dad needs him and he is staying, even though she tries to talk him out of it…he is determined.

Kate returns to John’s room and tells them that she tried to call Philip about his father but couldn’t get hold of him. Sami comes rushing in demanding to know about her parents, calling John a bastard in the process. She yells at him as Lucas pulls her away. Belle is also trying to talk to her and she seems to calm down a bit. Belle tells her that some made it home, but there are others missing too, including her grandmother. Sami asks WHY is it always HER family? Sami is upset because John is “lying on his ass” and not doing everything he can to find Marlena. She is hysterical, but is sure that her parents are fine and will be found. Kate tries to calm her down, but she blames Kate too. She wants more details and as John talks to her, Kate pulls Lucas aside, telling him that Sami is destructive and she wants him away from her so he doesn’t get hurt. They go into the hallway and Lucas tells her that he LOVES Sami and if Kate tries to break them up, she will lose. Lucas goes back inside as Sami is once again railing at John, saying she believes that her parents are in love again. She goes on about how John never loved Marlena and can’t wait to move on to someone else…Kate. Lucas tries to shut her up as Kate walks in and Sami sneers at her. Kate tells them that she just talked to Brady and they have news. They have found something and are bringing it home. Sami starts yelling that they have found her parents and they are alive and coming home…as the previews show…

Bo (to Billie): So you are leaving Salem? Billie: Unless you can give me a reason to stay…

John (to Hope): Is it possible that Doc was on that trawler? (he is holding her ring). Hope: No…

Marlena (to Roman): O my gosh Roman…we could be held captive by Tony forever…

Sami (to Brandon): You are the only person that understands. She hugs him as Lucas turns the corner and sees them…

And the credits roll…

Episode #9933
Taped 10/13/04
Director – Albert Alarr

Summary: Sami continues the blame game as Hope delivers bad news…Roman and Marlena wonder what Tony has in store for them now…Maggie and Bonnie almost come to blows…Billie tells Bo goodbye.

At the Horton House…Julie and Doug try to reason with Mickey (with Julie telling him ‘I told you so’). Bonnie claims her “dumplin” acted of his own free will and reminds Maggie that she is legally dead as Julie urges him to get an annulment. But he says he can’t do that. Maggie asks if he doesn’t love her anymore. Julie tells him to just throw “the cleaning woman out on her ashcan” (LOL). But Mickey says he can’t, Maggie was declared legally dead and their marriage dissolved. Bonnie lets it be known that she and “mighty Mickey” have been doing it for a while now. Julie has heard enough of her trash talk and goes to deck her, but Maggie stops her, telling her the “bitch is MINE” and puts up her dukes. Bonnie is “ready to rumble” but Mickey steps in and breaks it up. He tells Maggie he does love her, but he thought he lost her and wanted to die himself. But Bonnie taught him to live again. Maggie cries saying she does not know him anymore (join the club honey). Bonnie sees no problem with that and Julie threatens to give her a “fist full of fist”. Julie even gets angry with Doug for not backing her up. Mickey tries to explain as Maggie cries. He says they have three bedrooms and all of them can stay there in separate rooms. This causes Maggie to flee from the house in tears, followed by Julie. (Bonnie calls “dibs” on the master bedroom). Bonnie works on Mickey, trying to talk him into letting Maggie go. Outside, Maggie is in turmoil as Julie tries to comfort her. She breaks down as Julie tells her it isn’t over. Back inside, Bonnie is trying to snow Mickey but Maggie comes back, telling Bonnie she is staying and taking the blue bedroom…and renaming it the “Nightmare Room” because that is what she is going to be to “Blondie” her worst nightmare…as Bonnie gulps.

At the Cop shop…Bo arrives to learn from Billie that she has decrypted the code and has tons of DiMera info, including financial records, criminal activity and everyone on their payroll, dating back to when Roman and Marlena were held prisoner. There are even records on there of the “pawn’s” training. She says is could take her whole career to follow up on all the leads. Bo asks if she is leaving Salem and she says yes…unless he has a reason for her to stay. She says she is talking about work and if she isn’t needed there, she needs to get started on this. He says there must be more in her life than work, but she says it is not his problem and not to worry about it. He is sure she will find a special someone in her life. She talks about last time she was in Salem and apologizes for being duped by Larry and causing problems with him and Hope. He says she saved them several times on the island so they are even. She tells him that he and Hope are lucky and deserve happiness. She tells him goodbye and he offers his hand to her. But she wants a hug. As they hug, she chokes back the tears. After he leaves, (with a “see ya”), she cries alone, saying that he is the only man she ever wanted.

At the Hospital…Sami clamors to hear news on her parents from Kate and says she knows they are alive. She starts ranting at Kate and John. Hope comes in with a bag of clothes and as she pulls them out, John recognizes Marlena and Romans shirts. She tells them that Brady also identified other things from Caroline, Victor and Jack’s backpack. And there is blood on them. The blood is now being tested for positive ID. After she leaves, Sami jumps all over John and Kate accusing them of having an affair, saying they don’t want Marlena and Roman to come back. Belle and Lucas both try to shut her up, but she just keeps on. Belle suggests she go see Lexie, then she starts on her, calling her a moron. Hope comes back with the results and tells them the bad news, the blood matches all the missing. Sami breaks down as Lucas holds her. Hope also tells them that the Coast Guard is calling off the search as everyone cries. Hope tries to console Sami, but she lashes out at her as well, blaming her and the other survivors for making it home without her parents and then rushes out, followed by Lucas. Hope asks for time alone with John where she gives him Marlena’s ring. He asks if she is SURE Marlena wasn’t on that boat and Hope says yes, even though he feels she was. Hope says that with Tony dead, she believes that it is over this time and that there is no DiMera plot…she fears that Marlena may really be dead…as John cries. In the hallway, Belle lashes out at Belle for not supporting her as Kate lectures Lucas about Sami. Kate blames Kate for everything and rushes off…followed by Lucas again. She runs into Brandon (who had been with Lexie…see below). He tries to offer comfort and tells her that he cares about her. She cries that he is the only one who understands her as she falls into his arms…just as Lucas rounds the corner to see them.

Lexie tells Brandon…that Abe has been transferred to the eye clinic and wishes she and Theo could have joined him. Brandon says Abe is lucky she is a doctor, but she feels helpless. He tells her that he is going to be there for her and Theo. Tek comes up and tells them the news of the clothes they found. They fear the worst and they worry about how to tell Abe the news. Lexie tells Tek that Abe is gone and he goes to hug her, to be broken up by Brandon, telling Tek to leave her alone. Lexie has to break them up and asks Brandon for some time alone with Tek. He already knows what she is going to say as she she explains that Abe is back and she loves her husband. He says he understands and glad that Abe is alive, calling him the luckiest mane on earth. After he leaves, Lexie sighs.

On the Trawler…Marlena and Roman wake up to find they are in different clothes and have been injected in the arms. They wonder what it could all mean. Tony joins them and they bombard him with questions. He is his usual smug self and offers no real answers. He tells them that they are never going home and that they are nearing their final destination, but won’t tell them where. They ask about the clothes and the injections, but he tells them that they needed blood samples. After he leaves, Marlena isn’t buying it and thinks there is more to it. She figures it out…that he put blood on their clothes so the others will think they are dead and give up the search. (Roman had already suspected it, but didn’t want to say it). They fear that because they think Tony is dead, no one will be looking for them and they will be at his mercy as they hug…and the previews show…

Sami (to Kate): you brought Brandon back to break us up (Kate to Lucas): She is crazy! (Sami to Kate) I am going to kill you…

Lexie (to John) You have suffered extensive damage to your spinal column…

Hope (to Bo, in bed) I am thankful for every minute I have with you…

Billie (to Patrick) I think I like you Lockhart. (Patrick) There are some things people shouldn’t mess with…

And the credits roll…

Episode #9934
Taped 10/16/04
Director – Jim Baffico

A rather ho-hum show, as nothing seems to move story forward. Belle & Kate visit John, Sami is still running into Brandon & making excuses to Lucas, Kate still plotting against Sami. Jennifer mourns Jack, while getting prepared to tell Abby the news, while Billie lets Patrick know what she knows.

HOPE IS ON THE PHONE TO A CRYING JENNIFER , expressing her sympathies, as Jen says she doesn’t know how she is going to tell Abby her dad is lost for good again. Patrick comes in, offering to go with Jen to Jo & Vern’s to tell Abby. (WHAT is she doing there, when her mom just came back from the dead herself, with a new baby brother?) Jen declines. Patrick leaves, but opens the door to find Billie about to come in. She has a large manila envelope that she tells Patrick is the key to his past…..and his future

BO COMES IN HIS HOUSE, telling Hope that the computer disk had all sorts of stuff about the DiMera holdings, financial accounts, plus stuff about them all, John’s past, and what the DiMeras were planning for Patrick Lockhart. He says that he doesn’t trust the DiMeras, tho, as the disk could be a plant. They nuzzle on the sofa a bit, then Hope gets an idea, Bo asks if it involves their bedroom, she says could be, and he picks her up, carries her upstairs. (Young actors take note…..Bo & Hope can say more with a smile & a kiss……) In the bedroom, Bo takes off his shirt…they kiss, and we next see them in the shower…..they kiss, and then, towel wrapped, they go to the bed. We see them later under the blanket, telling each other how much they love each other.

AT THE HOSPITAL Belle comes into John’s room, telling him & Kate that Lucas is looking for Sami. (3 guesses where she is, first two don’t count, lol). Kate gloats on how Sami is probably with Brandon….and of course she is……crying on his shoulder as Lucas comes around the corner to see. Sami scrambles to explain, as Brandon leaves them alone to talk. John tries to reason with Kate about Sami, but she goes on and on about Sami & Brandon. Kate leaves, and now John & Belle talk about Sami & Brandon. (yawwnnnn). John tries to give Belle Marlena’s wedding ring, but she tells him to hold onto it. Brandon, Lucas & Sami are talking, Brandon leaves, but first mentions Kate funding his Outreach Program. Sami realizes Kate planned this….and when Kate shows up, she attacks her once more, saying she is going to kill her. (this is getting wayyyyyyy too old…)She tells Kate that when she tells John how Kate is spending his money, he will throw her out. Belle comes up, disagreeing, as both she & Philip approved this charity, as it helped needy kids. Sami is taken aback. Lucas takes Kate aside for a private talk…..as we see Brandon having a long, long flashback of him dancing with Sami. (Strictly a time filler).

BACK AT THE DEVERAUX HOUSE Billie tells Patrick the envelope has all his personal life on it, but being the ISA has more important fish to fry, it is low priority. She is sending the disk to the London office for complete decoding, claims that decoding is her specialty and that is why she ALLOWED (oh, give me a big break here) herself to be kidnapped, so that she would have access to the DiMera mainframe. (yeah, from her cell, right?) She considers her mission a success. Just then Jen comes out, asking how could it be a success when so many innocent lives were lost. Billie backtracks, & then extends her sympathies. She comforts Jen, as Patrick goes out for more wood for the fireplace. Jen goes to change clothes in order to go get Abb, while Billie picks up Jack’s picture (Man, I soooooo miss that guy, it is NOT fair to have him off screen so much!). She promises Jack she will use all the ISA resources to keep Jen and his family safe. Patrick comes in, and the two of them have a few words about Billie’s interest in Bo….and Patrick’s in Jen. They part with Patrick offering to buy Billie a drink, and “will call” her.

MEANWHILE, AT THE HOSPITAL, Lexie is telling John that he has extensive damage to his spinal cord, that there MAY be residual effects. That he may have chronic pain for the rest of his life. Outside the room, Belle prays to her mom to watch over her dad. John looks at Marlena’s ring, and with tears in his eyes, says “I miss you, Doc”. Lucas tells Kate that she had better not be plotting against Sami, cuz if she is, Kate will lose Lucas forever. He leaves, & Eugenia asks Kate if her plot is worth it. Brandon looks at a video monitor, sees Lucas & Sami kissing in the elevator. And the previews show…

Maggie saying “Mickey is my husband. I married him first.” (Right now, Mickey is being the biggest jerk there ever was….but then, this is NOT our Mickey Horton, is it?). Bonnie replies “And you’re legally dead”. We see Maggie scream as she falls to the floor.

Sami asks Brandon if he has forgiven her, and happily goes in for a hug when he says yes, just as Lexie & Lucas come up.

Lexie tells Brandon that Sami is as resilient as a cockroach, and is gonna eat him for lunch

Billie asks Kate whose demise is she planning now, as Sami comes up, sweetly saying “mine”.

Episode #9935
Taped 10/15/04
Director – Phil Sogard

Our returning Salemites flock to Alice's to either get their minds off lost family members, reunite with their moms or to support Maggie, who sees the transformation of her beloved Tuscany while others plan or overhear plots against Sami. Doug and Julie have their own party of sorts ;-)

From coast guard duds to his tux, Doug looks smashing as he wows seeing his beautiful wife in her full length black gown. He's got a romantic evening planned to hit all of Salem's finest eateries and clubs. Maggie calls and asks if Alice knows what's going on at their house. Julie was hoping it would be over and not have to tell Gran about it. Maggie knows Alice has ways o f hearing these things and tells Julie that it's not over yet. Mickey wants to take her to the restaurant to show her what changes Bonnie's made there. She walks out to find Bonnie and Mickey (both in western wear) smooching in the foyer after she claims to see shaving cream under his ear. (loved the old Mickey and Maggie, but frankly willing to let Bonnie have this one the way he's acting) The same issue about who is Mickey's wife comes out. Mickey needs time to work things out as he tells Bonnie not to let that happen again. Hearing that, Maggie goes to the car to wait and Bonnie suggests they get their marriage annulled (figuring he'd decline), but he surprises her and says that may be for the best. He tells her he loves Maggie with all his heart, but he still loves her too. She offers to go, and Mickey knows what he's doing is wrong, but asks for her patience. She agrees and he happily suggests they go “show off” Alice's.

Bo and Hope make their own plans in bed. They decide to order Chinese take out (guess Zack was playing in his room?) as Hope has to go through the pile of bills and mail. She tells Bo she figured that they would have stopped coming as they were assumed to be dead (wait til you see the late payment fees). Bo feels for Jen, John and Sami, especially Sami. Feeling guilty about his part in Marlena's shooting, Hope reminds him that wasn't what killed her, but Marlena and Roman's worst fear about Sami being alone may be coming true. Julie calls and tells Hope about Uncle Mickey. Afterward the duo come downstairs. Hope's in a pretty two piece pink sparkly outfit as Bo puts Zack's toys away (back to reality). She tells him about Mickey taking Maggie to show her what Tuscany's become and asks she and Bo be there for Maggie's support, knowing she herself wouldn't be welcome. Ding Dong, Julie and Doug arrive to watch Zack (bet Doug would love time with his grandson anyway) while Bo and Hope are gone. Hope feels bad ruining their plans after seeing them, but Doug's just happy to be alive after all they've been through. They're happy to learn Chinese food is on the way (bet he didn't have that on Melaswen) and Julie tells Hope that Bonnie's had her octupus tentacles out for Mickey for a while now. Doug worries about Maggie's reaction when she sees Tuscany.

Doug and Julie watch Mr. Magoo on tv with Zack. Doug's enjoying himself and Julie wishes she could be at Alice's. She wishes she could have stopped Mickey and Bonnie from doing the “push push” as she covers Zack's ears, LOL. Doug kisses her, saying Grandpa Tom would have been so proud of her. Dinner is delivered and Julie gives Zack some chow mein at the kitchen table. She and Doug relish in the time with each other and Zack as Zack projects some noodles at them. At first Julie is aghast at that, but Doug has fun and tosses some noodles at her. A food fight starts with them all laughing. Later we find Julie cleaning up and Doug returns after getting Zack cleaned up and into bed. He offers fortune cookies to Julie, but she drops them and steps on them, saying he's all the good fortune she needs.

AT ALICE'S.....
Lucas and Sami arrive outside. He figures dinner out is what she needs to get away from the photo albums and sad memories. He figures her parents wouldn't want her dwelling on it. She thanks him for taking such good care of her and apologizes for what happened with his mom earlier. Sami walks in and sees Kate and Billie hugging. Billie didn't realize the ISA had told Kate she was dead. She introduces Billie to Eugenia as Kate orders a club soda. Eugenia warns Kate to think through something. Billie knew the tone Eugenia was using and ask whose demise she's planning now. Sami overhears and says, MINE. She clues Billie in on what's happening before Lucas arrives to hug his sister. He excuses Sami and himself saying they'll catch up later and he'll let her be with mom now. Billie tells Kate to chill out and let Lucas be happy . Kate knows a life with Sami won't make Lucas happy, just like a life for Billie without Bo won't make her happy....as Bo and Hope walk in and they trio nods to each other from across the room.

Lexie tells Brandon that Abe is doing good at the clinic. She orders OJ, he beer. He tells her about running into Samantha at the hospital earlier and she was hysterical and ran into his arms. He was glad she did, but Lexie believes Sami did it on purpose. While waiting for their drinks, Brandon's heart feels for Sami's loss, but Lexie knows Sami will take advantage of that sympathy. He knows Sami and Lucas are a couple and tells Lexie to let it go.

Maggie walks up outside, holding her sparkly evening bag as she gazes at the Alice's sign. She walks in and looks around in shock as Eugenia asks if she has a reservation (give me a break!). Mickey and Bonnie walk in as Bonnie knows that Maggie will just love it. Maggie screams and faints on the floor as Bonnie sarcastically mutters “I knew she'd love it” as Mickey rolls his eyes up to the heaven's, LOL! Mickey rushes up to Mickey as does Bo and Hope. They help her to a table as Lexie takes her pulse. It's racing and she wonders what happened. Bo speculates that Mickey changing her elegant restaurant to a honkey tonk bar might be the reason and Hope asks Mickey how he could do that to her? (was the bar changed AFTER Hope had left Salem?)

Sami and Eugenia meet up in the ladies room. Eugenia tells her about the rotten jobs she's had (including working in a sausage factory) and how her parents are disappointed in her after her 6 years of college. Sami is truly sorry, not wanting Eugenia to have lost her job, but Eugenia vows someone will pay. (uh, Eugenia has a bit of that responsibility for screwing up too I think) Sami wonders how much more can she pay. Brandon is outside the ladies room and sees Sami walk out in tears. They talk about all that's happened and Eugenia can't forgive her for what happened, just like he hasn't. He tells her he has and she goes into his arms, sobbing again, grateful. She tells him how much it means to her that he and Lucas believe in her. Of course Lexie and Lucas walk up and see this. Disgusted, Lexie goes to leave and Brandon follows her. Lucas surprises Sami by being happy she and Brandon made up and in AA they emphasize how much verbal restitution means. Sami tells Lucas she can't marry him until she apologizes for all the bad things she did to him over the years. He feels bad for all the bad things he did too and they're square and kiss, happy they can start fresh.

Lexie tells Maggie she'll be back to check on her and leaves. Hope offers to take her home. Maggie can't believe her beautiful Tuscany that she built with her blood, sweat and tears was turned into a honkey tonk. Mickey apologizes to Maggie, realizing he should have known what a shock it would be to her (duh!). Bonnie tries to leave, saying she's needed at the bar and asks Maggie if she wants to continue her tour. Maggie figures no one wants to see her at a bar right now. Bonnie asks for Mickey's help and he looks to Maggie. She tells him to just go and he says he'll be right back (he never does) as Bonnie takes his arm. Maggie looks up at Hope and says everything that mattered to her is gone.

Kate tries to get Billie to reconsider leaving Salem, her life is there. Billie knows her and Bo are over. Kate wants her to leave the ISA. She just lost her husband and Cassie, she doesn't want to lose her too. Billie knows Hope would be happier if she was gone too. Billie knows that Bo and Hope share two sons and Kate brings up Georgia, saying she'd want her parents together (they keep bringing her up, are we going to find her in the swamp years later?)

Patrick walks in and shocks Bonnie. He's tried calling her and couldn't reach her. She flashes the ring and tells him it all happened today and Connor and Max are moving in with Mickey. Patrick reminds her Maggie is still alive. Bonnie says Maggie, the stray dog, is back home to find Mickey's married to a thoroughbred (her) and she's keeping the man she loves. He's the only man who's treated her with respect and she doesn't want to lose him. She goes to get him a drink. Billie walks up, telling Lockhart this one is on her. Bonnie turns on line dancing music and grabs Mickey, thinking she'll show Maggie who Mickey will choose, claiming the person you end up with when the music stops is you soul mate for life. Hope and Patrick are dancing as are Billie and Bo when the music stops. Maggie is weeping in the corner. Hope tells Patrick that she knows Billie loves Bo, but she and Bo are secure in their love. Brandon spots Kate talking to Eugenia and knows trouble is ahead. Kate watches Sami and Lucas dancing and says out loud that she knows exactly what she has to do to break up Sami and Lucas. Brandon overhears...as the previews for the next DOOL roll....

Sami invites everyone at Alice's to attend their wedding...Brandon asks if that means he's invited too as Sami and Lucas smile...

Shawn tells Belle he wouldn't even ask, but it's a favor to Aunt Maggie. Belle takes his hand and says in that case she can't say no...

Jan tells Philip that if she were going to take up with a gun, this is the time to do it

Hope tells Bo that Shawn and Belle are going to end up with the wrong people and will be miserable...

John looks up and asks what the hell you're doing here....

as the credits roll...

Episode #9936
Taped 10/18/04
Director – Herb Stein

Mostly at Alice's today as we see more (brief) reunions and plotting in the works. John finally gets to sleep but deals with nightmares both in his mind and sneaking into his room.

AT ALICE'S....
Lucas assures Sami he can handle whatever Kate has planned. Kate denies planning anything and only has a surprise for them.

Brandon confronts Eugenia about if Kate is trying to break up Sami and Lucas. He tells her to tell Kate to forget it if so.

Lucas suggests Sami ignore Kate and they go see Aunt Maggie. Loved this scene. Lucas warmly welcomes Maggie back with a hug, saying he missed her. (has Mickey or anyone else even talked or seen his mother since she came back from the dead? Sorry, I digress.) Maggie tells Sami how sorry she is about Marlena and Roman. She notices Sami and Lucas hugging and the ring on Sami's finger and asks about it. They smile and admit they're engaged. She's happy for them and a group hug ensues. (awwww) She tears up saying she's glad someone's got good news. Lucas asks if she's okay and she tells them about Mickey and Bonnie. Both are shocked and Lucas suggests Mickey unmarry Bonnie.

Outside Belle and Philip arrive. He feels they need a night out to deal with losing his grandfather and her mom (again). They see Jan and Shawn arrive and go inside.

Bo asks to see Shawn alone and Jan is determined nothing or no one will stop her from achieving her goal. Bo questions Shawn's decisions lately and Shawn admits making a huge mistake. He's not a kid anymore and wants his parents out of his love life. He and Belle use to be in love, but now he's engaged to Jan. Bo asks if he LOVES Jan and he doesn't answer. Bo says there's only one love in your life and you know it when you look at them. Shawn asks about Carly and Billie then. (oops) Bo even had a baby with Billie (there they go again, reminding us about Georgia). Bo tells him that was different, he thought Hope was dead. Shawn works up a froth (figuratively speaking) saying Belle isn't exactly missing him either, is she? He walks off after telling Bo to stay out of his love life.

Hope asks Billie for a moment alone in the ladies room and Billie doesn't lie to her, dancing with Bo was wonderful. Inside Billie and Hope also talk about Georgia and how her life would have been so different had Georgia survived. Billie asks if the tables were turned and she and Bo had a child together, would Hope leave? Hope knows she wouldn't and Billie says that's why she knows she has to leave Salem and Bo behind.

Belle heads to the ladies room as Shawn walks in and overhears Philip mumbling to himself how he's waited long enough and he and Belle need to start their future. Shawn runs into Aunt Maggie and gives her the 10 second hug and welcome back. She asks about Belle and learns he's with Jan now and he walks off. (Poor Maggie..Julie should have took her and Jen aside and briefed them on all the Salem happenings). Maggie wonders what the world is coming to with Bonnie Lockhart and Jan Spears now. She gets an idea and perks up (ahh, our Maggie surfaces).

Philip and Billie hug and she feels bad about Victor. Kate joins them and mentions they're both happy he's marrying Belle. He rushes off after correcting his and Belle's status and Billie digs into Kate about butting in (atta girl). She tells Kate she and Bo are over and to lay off. Of course Kate disagrees to herself.

Bo and Hope hug outside. He asks if she was jealous of him and Billie dancing, then tells her about his talk with Shawn. Hope knows Jan manipulated Shawn somehow and is worried that Shawn and Belle will end up with the wrong people. Bo and Hope know they were given another chance and will make the most of it for both each other and their family.

As the classic song Our Love is Here to Stay plays (can't believe Bonnie had that in her juke box, but great song), Jan overhears Maggie urging Shawn to ask Belle to dance to it. Kate and Billie watch and Billie tells Kate to stay out of it. Jan and Philip watch as Shawn and Belle eye each other and he finally asks her to dance. She's surprised, saying she doesn't think it's a good idea. He tells her Aunt Maggie wants it to happen and she can't refuse. Maggie dims the lights and prays this works (guess Bonnie and Mickey are busy elsewhere as we don't see them at all). Shawn apologizes to Belle for accusing her mother of being the killer. If he hadn't acted as he had they might still be together...but goes off tract saying then she slept with his best friend...and she states he slept with Jan first and walks off, back to Philip. Jan wastes no time slipping into his empty arms as the song ends.

Sami (who's still carrying her purse around) and Lucas stroll around as she's nervous what Kate's got planned. Kate tells them she's going to make a tribute to Marlena and Roman's memory. She gets up on stage when the song ends and tells everyone about Sami and Lucas' wedding courtesy of BB. She tells them due to Sami's parents tragedy (ouch), that she and BB are going to throw the reception for the couple and she herself will pay for a cruise to any destination they want (wonder if that's about the same time Ali goes on maternity leave?) Both Sami and Lucas are startled by this announcement. Later Belle and Philip are dancing as he tells her it's time for some good news about their future. He asks her to step outside as he has something important to ask her (gee, wonder what, haha). Shawn notices they're leaving and follows, much to Jan's dismay.

Kate tells Eugenia she's still planning to break up Sami and Lucas and her announcement was meant to throw them off. Billie walks up and asks to speak to Kate privately. She didn't overhear her conversation to Eugenia and compliments her mom on her generous offer. Sami makes her own happy announcement, inviting every one there to their big day. Brandon asks if that means him too and both Sami and Lucas agree. Lucas walks away and Sami asks Brandon if he really wants to come. Kate urges Billie to stay for the wedding and Lucas joins them, agreeing with his mom. Billie goes to tell Bo something.

Outside Philip gets on his knee and proposes (not a very romantic one, more of a life sucks, let's get it on approach) as Shawn and Jan lurk in the background watching. Belle's reaction is sullen as well

At the Cop Shop...two unknown cops in uniform see a hidden file that Billie missed and are surprised to see what it says.

AT UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL...
Hairy John lies in bed watching his rapidly dripping iv. He asks the nurse for more pain medication, but she tells him it's too soon. He's left alone to sleep and dreams that Marlena is with him, comforting him, promising to never leave him again. He asks what happened and she only wants to know how he's feeling. In her doctor garb she undrapes his legs and he feels his legs for the first time. She takes off her doctor lab coat and is only wearing her negligee (LOL!) and crawls into bed with him. We return to him sleeping, calling out Marlena's name as someone slips into his room. John wakes up and asks what the hell you're doing here as he sees a skeleton in a death garb (think of the movie Ghost) as it strangles Marlena as she calls out for John's help. It points and John and tells him he's next. As John continues sleeping, someone walks in and injects something into his IV....as the previews roll..

Sami to Brandon...”why were you outside my apartment building that first night you were back in Salem?”...
Brandon's answer. “Maybe I did come back to Salem because I still have feelings for you”....

Belle to Shawn: “Do you really and truly want me to marry Philip???”

Bo to Hope (at the cop shop reading something)...”we have to stop Billie”..
Hope looks and says..”oh my God, it can't be”....

In the kitchen at Alice's, Bonnie screams and says “I've had it” as she and Maggie are both wielding huge knives at each other with Mickey in the middle trying to calm them down...

as the credits roll..

Director – Phil Sogard

Almost felt as tho watching replays of various things from last week, as Philip pops the question, Billie says her goodbyes again, an
