AT THE LOFTS…….Belle wakes up next to a sleeping Shawn, gets up to get the morning paper. One look at the headline, “Commander Carver Slain”, and she takes off her purity ring, puts it in a drawer, takes off her shirt, and kisses Shawn awake. She is all over him, wanting him to have sex with her, but Shawn keeps a cool head, and goes to take a cold shower.

Across the way, Mimi wakes up next to Rex, commenting on how sweet he looks asleep.(BTW, both guys have the obligatory shirtless scenes today, LOL) She gets up, finds a book of matches from Tuscany. Tex wakes up, claims he was planning on cooking her dinner tonite, candles, and then candles around the bathroom. (Yep, just the way one celebrates a death). Mimi wants none of that, talks to him about his headaches. He claims he has been to doctors, they find nothing wrong. At Mimi’s questions, he finally admits that he doesn’t remember where he was when he was missing at the church. Mimi says she should never have had sex with him, it is all he wants (you got that right, Meems). Rex whines about being created in a petrie dish, being a freak, etc. They are soon kissing. Later, Mimi is dressed, talking of looking for a job, & claims her Love Is Blind money is tied up in investments, she has a cash flow problem. Rex offers to give her money, but she refuses. They argue a bit, and he leaves to go talk to Tony. Bonnie arrives, telling Mimi she took the condoms for her own good, so she could snag the rich boy. She tells Mimi to never refuse money when a guy offers it, and to get some for her, too. (What a piece of work Bonnie is!)

AT THE COP SHOP Bo, John & Roman talk about catching whoever killed Abe. (Folks, I do miss him already….sniff!) They talk of the fire at Abe’s house, how the killer managed to get past the police barrier (but Roman, that is not hard at all!) and set the fire that destroyed all Abe’s personal files and whatever was on his hard drive. (Anyone curious as to how ……I mean was it in a waste basket, the fireplace…..what? the house did not burn down, not even a fire truck in sight. They BURNED his hard drive? ) Tek comes in, saying they found a fingerprint on the Tuscany matchbook found at Abe’s, and are working on it. He also says he resigned the ISA, and is assigned to Salem P.D. They all look over the pictures of the suspects on the bulletin board. A cop brings in the newspaper, with a statement from John in it, saying he knows who the killer is. Bo, Roman & Tek get on his case saying he had no authority, but John claims he said it as citizen John Black. Tek says they are trying to recover any data on Abe’s HD that may still be there, Roman says he is partnering Tek with John. Both Bo and John leave.
Later, Tek is at the computer, with Roman looking on, trying to match the fingerprint on the matchbook with the suspects. He shows Roman 2 pictures of Tuscany matchbooks, one slightly different than the other. A new shipment came in the day before, and they were just put out last night. The one found at Abe’s is a new one, meaning the killer picked it up last night…..and ALL the suspects were at Tuscany last night, except Rex. But Cassie was there, so she could have gotten it for him. Tek runs the print, but it matches NONE of the suspects, so he runs a general check. Turns out it matches Tuscany owner, Maggie Horton.

AT THE CARVER HOME Lexie arrives with Celeste to see people leaving flowers & notes at a sort of shrine in front of the house. A photographer is snapping their pictures, as Lexie explains to Celeste that the police are doing that in case the killer returns to the scene. Tony joins them. Lexie talks about calling Brandon to tell him his father is dead, crying over the fact that they had just made their peace, cemented their relationship. (Where the heck is Fay?) They go inside, to find the house still decorated with balloons, etc. Lexie questions Martin, who is at Abe’s desk, as to what happened, and he explains about the killer coming and burning Abe’s personal files. Lexie is horrified to know the killer got in her house, but Tony uses the opportunity to insist Lexie come live with him. Celeste says NO. Just then Bonnie comes from the kitchen, (in a maid’s uniform!) offers her sympathies, but quickly leaves when Celeste says they want some privacy. Celeste & Tony argue, as Celeste says she will care for Lexie and take her to her place. Tony insults Celeste, reminding her of her former servant status, & also mistress to his father. He begins a threat, but Lexie interrupts, agreeing to move in Tony’s house.

Later, they all arrive at DiMansion, Mabel expresses her sympathies as she lets them in. As Lexie & Celeste come down from checking the nursery, Lexie says this will be better for Theo, as he perhaps won’t be looking for Abe to tuck him in or come in for his 2 a.m. feedings. (Theo STILL has 2 a.m. feedings? Isn’t he around 6 months old or so? Well, all babies are different, and I am being too, too picky, lol) Lexie & Celeste talk of how a DiMera is always a top suspect, when Rex comes in. He immediately goes on the defensive. Celeste reminds him that she was around when Stefano turned John into the Pawn, and always wanted a killing machine. Perhaps now he created one. Rex blurts out that he would take a lie detector test, but Tony shouts an emphatic NO! When questioned, he says they known to be inaccurate. He takes Rex into the library, where he tells him in no uncertain terms, to NEVER take a lie detector test.

AT SALEM PLACE Mickey & Maggie are having coffee at the Java café, trying to figure out why Abe’s last word was her name. She cannot think of any reason, and knows nothing that would help. Mickey thinks perhaps she knows something, and doesn’t realize it.
Shawn runs into his father, and tells him about Belle. He talks of quitting school, his part-time job, getting a full time job and marrying Belle now. Bo gives him some fatherly advice, talking about John setting himself up as a target. Shawn decided to rethink his decision.

Back at the loft, Belle takes the purity ring out of the drawer, and thinks about Shawn. Mimi comes in and they talk of their boyfriends. Mimi says it was a mistake for her to have sex with Rex, says she loves Rex, but he really does not love her, and she regrets having sex without love. She tells Belle that she & Shawn have the real thing between them, and to hold onto it.

AT THE PENTHOUSE John goes up to take a shower. We see a long black coat, black pants covered legs ascend the stairs. As John rinses his face off in the sink, a black leather gloved hand reaches out to touch his arm. He turns with a yell. Freeze frame. AND THE PREVIEWS FOR TOMORRW SHOW

Summary: Belle and Mimi discuss their love lives, as Cassie tries to start one of her one (and you won’t believe what she does)…Marlena returns home to sad news…Caroline offers Shawn advice on his love life…the cops put together a profile of the killer…and Belle finds herself in danger.

John’s “Stalker”…
At the cop shop, Roman looks at Abe’s picture and then at their suspect board. Note that now Maggie’s picture has been added under the heading of “clues”. Tek comes in with a timeline on a huge board as they look it over and worry about John making that statement in the paper. Meanwhile, at the penthouse, John is shaving as someone dressed in black approaches. He whirls around to find it is Marlena. She gets the giggles about scaring him but John isn’t very amused. She chatters on about her mom and Eric as John tries to break the bad news to her. He finally blurts out that Abe is dead. He gives her the details as a saddened Marlena talks about how Abe was one of her first friends in Salem. He explains that he didn’t want to call her and tell her and ruin her trip. She decides that she must go and see Lexie and Theo. He tells her that they are that the DiMera Mansion and both are troubled by that. So Marlena decides that she is going over, even though John tries to stop her. He tells her that even though they have no evidence, he believes that Tony could be the killer. He tries to talk her out of it, but she is determined to go over and offer her condolences. Roman calls John and asks him to come down to the station for his help. Marlena begs him to be careful.

Later, John is at the station as he tells Roman about Marlena being home. They talk about how Abe was such a good man and ironically served as best man for both of them at their weddings. John tells Roman that Marlena was determined to go and see Lexie and neither of them think it was a good idea. Neither of them like the idea of Lexie living at DiMansion either and remember the last time she lived there. John worries how Marlena will react when she finds out that 2 of her children are prime suspects. Later, Tek is with them and has a profile ready as all three of them look at the screen. Roman can’t believe his eyes as John says if this IS the killer…all hell is about to break loose.

At the Loft…
Mimi and Belle discuss their respective boyfriends. Mimi confides that she feels that Rex doesn’t love her…only the sex. She tells Belle that she and Shawn are the real deal and she regrets sex without love. Mimi notices the missing ring and asks if they broke up as Belle explains. She says that she wil never marry Shawn, for fear of going through what Lexie is right now. Mimi can’t believe what she is hearing and urges Belle to hold onto her values and wishes she had a guy like Shawn to love her. Belle asks Mimi if she could just start over with Rex, but she doesn’t think that is possible. She feels that Rex love the sex…not her. Belle tells her that if Rex doesn’t love her, it is time to get a new boyfriend but Mimi WANTS Rex to love her and thinks that maybe in time, he will. Meanwhile, Rex has stumbled into the hallway (having one of his headaches). Mimi has to leave to go and look for work, so at the door, Belle tells Mimi not to let Rex just use her and if she feels that if she doesn’t get what she needs from him to just dump him. (Of course Rex overhears this and mumbles “you nosey bitch”). Inside, Belle decides to email Chloe. She tells her about Abe’s murder, how it has affected her and asks for her advice concerning Shawn and sex. After she finishes she is getting herself a drink and accidentally drops her purity ring down the kitchen sink drain. She goes and gets her “how to” book and decides to take apart the drain. She goes and finds the wrench from the toolbox her dad gave her and begins to work. Meanwhile, Rex has slipped into her apartment and is standing behind her.

At the Java Café…
Caroline finds a down and out Shawn (her grandson, that is) there and he tells her that she is a site for sore eyes. After ordering him coffee and a scone, they chat. She asks what is wrong and he tells her about Belle’s attitude since Abe’s death. Caroline asks if she is wanting to have sex, which clearly embarrasses Shawn. He can’t believe he is talking to his grandmother about this, but explains. He tells her of his plans to quit school and elope and she gives him a good talking to about it. She offers him advice, that he help Belle stay true to herself and reminds him that love and commitment go hand in hand. After she leaves for the pub, Cassie comes up behind him and kisses him on the neck. Thinking it is Belle, he turns around and says her name. Cassie says “Belle who?” She comes onto him and wants to know what is wrong. But he offers no details. She says he looks like he needs a “pick-me-up”. She offers sex, saying it will be their little secret, but Shawn flatly turns her down and goes to leave. But before he does, she pulls up her top and exposes herself to him (right there in front of God and all of Salem Place!…Geez, what a ho). He pulls her blouse down and refuses her. She keeps coming on to him and begins to rub her hand up his leg, saying he is rock hard and asks how many times a day he works out. He reminds her that he loves Belle just as Mimi walks up calling her a slut. They argue and Mimi tells her to leave. As she turns to go, she tells Shawn to think about her offer. Mimi tells Shawn that he has to act fast or he may lose Belle forever.

Earlier at DiMansion…
Tony is on the phone with “father” updating him on Lexie’s moving in. He wants to talk to him about worried he is about Rex’s headaches and wants to get help. Tony asks why he and Cassie were created but apparently he doesn’t get an answer as “father” hangs up on him. Tony mutters “damn you too” and hangs up. Meanwhile, Rex and Cassie are in the foyer and she point blank asks him if he killed Abe Carver. Rex warns her to keep her mouth shut, especially around Lexie. She gets angry and storms off (she goes to the Java Café after this). Tony walks in telling Rex he wants the truth as well. Tony questions him about his recent behavior as Rex gets very defensive and storms off as well. Outside, he begins to have one of his headaches. (He leaves and goes back to the loft).

After Rex leaves, Marlena arrives to be greeted by Tony. She explains she is there to see Lexie and Theo, NOT him. They talk about Abe’s death as Marlena calls the killer a “coward”. Tony talks about Marlena spending more time with their children as she tries to explain it is hard to keep up with them but she does her best. She wants to go and visit with Lexie, but Tony tells her that she and Theo are asleep. He asks her a hypothetical question about one of his workers (really Rex) having bad headaches and mood swings and memory loss. He asks if this person could be driven to kill. She says she can’t say without first talking with this person, but it sounds like this person could attack without provocation and yes could even kill their victim…as we see Rex pick up the wrench and hovering over Belle…as the previews roll…

On the next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Tony asks Marlena “where are you going?” She says to the police station to see John. Tony grabs her by the arm and says “You can’t tell him about our son!”…

Belle asks herself “Where is that stupid wrench?” as she turns to see Rex standing over her and screams…

Shawn tells Mimi that if Rex isn’t treating her like the catch she is, dump that jerk TODAY…

Maggie is outside Tuscany looking frightened. She yells “Who’s there?”, turns and then screams…

As the credits roll…

Summary: Kudos to Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) today as the police confirm to Maggie that she's a potential target, Marlena and Tony agree to keep Rex from being a suspect, Shawn convinces Mimi she deserves better then Rex is giving her.

SALEM PLACE
Maggie reassures Mickey on her cellphone at Salem Place that she is fine.

Mimi talks with Shawn at Java Café about Belle and her reaction to Abe’s murder by “living for the moment”. Shawn rationalizes how waiting is important if you love someone enough. Mimi wishes her love with Rex was as strong. They joke about how well they know each other and can talk about anything. He reminds her about when she tripped in second grade at the museum and a 4 story t-rex toppled over and he took the blame for it. She figures she owes him big time for that. He asks more about Rex and she levels about her insecurity about Rex’s affection for her. As she starts putting herself down, Shawn stops her and tells her if Rex isn’t treating her like the catch she is, she should dump him and find someone who will. She figures Shawn is right about that. She admits loving Rex, but didn’t figure it would last that long anyway. She never pictured herself living to a ripe old age. She’s more like her dad, no dreams, just one to fade into the background. Shawn tells her that Belle told him about her dad leaving and reassures her that she’s nothing like that. He tells her how good a friend she is to both him and Belle and they won’t let her disappear and she deserves the best. Holding her hand, he asks if she’ll be okay. She hugs him in thanks and is going to get a job application at Java Café and call Rex to tell him she’s moving on. Alone, Shawn sits down and plays with his purity ring. He says sweethearts forever and how he and Belle have to get this settled for good.

AT DIMANSION
Marlena tells Tony that yes, the person he’s describing could be extremely dangerous and attack without provocation and even could kill. Tony agrees to keep a close eye on the employee in question, but she remembers Rex’s headaches and asks if it’s their son they’re talking about. She questions if Rex could be responsible for Bo and Hope’s attack, and maybe even Abe’s murder. Tony stops her as she leaves to see John at the police station. He convinces her not to tell John by reminding her that Rex is her son (no, he’s actually one of the other suspect’s son and the man who’s leading the investigation). She tells Tony they have to get Rex some help. She can’t do it because she’s his mother. Tony makes her promise to help Rex and to forget the ethical part. She tells him if Rex has hurt anyone, he will have to face the consequences, her son or not. Later Tony vows not to let his son self destruct.

COP SHOP
Tek brings up a profile on his computer from ISA headquarters in London. All 3 of them worry if it’s true and John thinks there must be a mistake. He tells Tek to ask ISA to resend the information again in case the email was corrupted. John and Roman fear if the profile were true, one of them (looking at the board) might be a serial killer and it’s only a matter of time before they hit again. Roman explains a serial killer attacks out of a need for power or fear. They worry about Maggie’s safety and need to get her in there.

They must have called Maggie as she arrives alone at the station and they take her into Roman’s office (she tells them that Mickey’s in court). Roman gives her a glass of water and she’s surprised to see her picture on Roman’s board and nervously spills some. Tek pops in with the repeat of ISA’s message and J&R go out to get it (where’s Bo and Hope during all of this?) ISA is 99.9% sure their profile is correct and John fears Maggie may be the next victim. They return to the office to Maggie and admit their concerns. She can’t figure out why Abe said her name and they hand her the matchbook from Tuscany (in a plastic bag). They fear the suspect ate at Tuscany the night before and she knows they are the new matches. Dave put the matches out before dinner. She realizes Roman and John knew about the matches being new and how they brought her down there to warn her that she might be the next victim. John suggests she keep this conversation under wraps. Maggie fears that it’s too late as all the suspects know she knows something. She reminds them how they were in the hospital waiting room and about what happened in the parking lot at Tuscany. She tells him how someone was in the bushes and overheard her and Mickey talking. What if it was the killer?? Roman offers her 24/7 protection (yeah, we know how dependable those SPuD’s are, ha)..but she refuses. Crying, she leaves for Tuscany to get ready for the dinner crowd. Roman warns her to stay on alert (how about putting a plainclothes cop at Tuscany Roman!). Both guys hug her and John tells her not to wait for an invitation or appointment if she needs them, to come straight there. She leaves, choking sobs, agreeing to do so. John tells Roman that’s why he made himself a target, to help take the heat off anyone else the whacko is after. Marlena walks in, surprised to hear that, saying that’s not going to happen. She won’t let him do that. She asks Roman to leave so she and John can talk privately and he does so. She questions John why he’s doing this and he tells her he knows how they play this game. Roman figures Abe was trying to give them a clue when saying Maggie’s name.

AT THE LOFTS
Rex stands over Belle with the wrench in hand. She turns and screams. She yells at him for sneaking up on her like that and he hears her voice deep and muffled, not coherently. He finally comes out of it and said he was just going to help her, that’s all. He admits being zoned out due to one of his headaches. She has him sit down and gets him some aspirin (that he chugs like candy). She thought she had locked the loft door, but he tells her no, it wasn’t closed and they have a similar problem with their door. He wants to go find Meems, but Belle wants to talk to him about his sex life with Mimi. She tells him how Mimi loves the way he makes love to her, but feels disconnected from him and not like he loves her. She tells him point blank about Mimi needing more then just sex, but needs love and affection as well. Show her the real Rex. He takes off and in the hallway promises to show Mimi the real Rex, something she can take to her grave.

Rex sits in the dark in his apartment as the phone rings. He lets the machine get it and it’s Tony leaving a message asking Rex to call. Tony prays he’s not too late. We see the lamp turned on and sitting on the floor. Mimi calls and leaves a short message on Rex’s answering machine, saying she’s on the way over and they need to give each other some space. She’s coming over to say goodbye for good. Holding the lamp (sure is dark in that loft even though it’s bright daylight outside, whatsupwiththat?) under his face to illuminate it, Rex says that he’ll be waiting for Mimi and he’ll give her just what she deserves.

Belle finishes her task and retrieves her purity ring. She and the ring are greasy and she figures the purity ring went right down the drain where it belongs. As she washes off the ring, she remembers Mimi telling her to wait until their honeymoon. She doesn’t think she can wait any longer. Shawn arrives and Belle hugs him. She can’t trust in the future, not now, maybe not ever. He leaves and she yells she was right and love really does hurt. In the hallway he glances at the closed door and goes to the stairwell. Mimi arrives and says it’s now or never. Rex sits in the dark as Mimi knocks but Rex doesn’t answer the door, so Mimi unlocks the door with her key, saying she won’t put it off. She calls out Rex’s name in the dark loft, but he replies not to call him Rex

TUSCANY
Maggie goes to unlock the door to Tuscany and hears children laughing (same ones Alice heard). She walks around the bushes for the children and goes to the delivery/dumpster area (now, would YOU snoop around like that after just being warned you’re a potential victim??) The children stop laughing and recite the following song: (thanks to Barb for emailing the words from her closed captioning as it’s hard to understand them)…

Salem Stalker took a gun....
And gave Abe Carver a deadly one
And when they saw what they had done,
They gave Maggie Horton another one

Maggie holds her head and screams….as the previews for the next show roll..

John and Marlena are talking as she reminds him that she felt about Abe as part of her family (Sami). John tells her someone murdered Abe, but Marlena said it’s not one of her children…

Shawn tells Belle he’s willing to do anything to keep her from being unhappy. She tells him there’s nothing anyone can do…

Mimi calls out Rex’s name. He’s sitting in the dark in his boxers with his pants at his ankles and tells her not to call him Rex…

Kate tells Sami that her father knows she’s innocent. Sami tells Kate that once her father figures out it was her, he’ll put her in jail where she belongs…

Sami reveals how she plans to pay for her dream wedding, while Bo, Hope, Patrick & Billie explain their actions to each other, and make their own plans.

AT BASIC BLACK Lucas is on the phone to Will, telling him he will pick him up later at the Pub. (Sure do wonder how Grampa Shawn manages to babysit Will, Zack & whoever…..while running his business!) Sami comes in with a big kiss for him, talking of how her idea for her wedding made Basic Black’s cranky attorney smile, and he approves. Kate, who is getting a massage, gets a phone call from one of the employees, Joelle, telling her Sami has called a meeting. Belle arrives, having intended to work late on the Spring designs, & is surprised she was not notified. Sami & Belle cry over John, & the miseries of the past year.

Sami breaks her idea to the assembled group (minus Kate) of having all their advertisers underwrite her wedding, providing limos, jewelry, flowers, etc. All their magazines could cover it, the advertisers getting back more than their money’s worth. She announces that Belle will design her dress, and the tuxedos, tells one guy to contact the culinary editor – perhaps getting a famous chef like Emeril Legassi or Bobby Flay to do the menu, wants Belle to talk to editors at Salem Style to do a big, glossy spread like in Town & Country, with photos by brother, Eric, of course. She even talks of getting the Fab 5 from Bravo to come & make over Lucas & his apt. (wow, lots of commercial in just a couple minutes, lololol). Kate comes in just then, talking of how J-Lo has more imagination & taste than Sami ever could. However, when she hears of the idea, she thinks it is brilliant and o.k.s it.

Sam & Lucas leave, & Kate takes the opportunity to comfort Belle a bit, asking how she is doing, and encouraging her to move on when she is ready. (the woman is like a broken record, I swear!). She recounts Sami’s sins in re: Austin, Lucas & Brandon. Sami returns in time to hear Belle talk of Shawn having taken up with Jan Spears. Sami rants on about Jan, intending to confront her, but Belle says, No, Shawn has made it plain it is over with them. Sami & Belle leave, & Kate is delighted as she looks at Philip’s picture, promising happiness for him soon. She then looks at Lucas’s picture, vowing to trick Sami in some way to end that romance. She looks up to see Lucas standing there…..but as in Days’ usual fashion, the next scene shows he did not hear her. Ha. Meanwhile, Belle forbids Sami to to after Jan or Shawn…..and they talk of designing the wedding dress, AND the bridesmaids’ dresses, which Belle promises will NOT be of the kind they can only wear once. (Now THAT is a challenge! LOL)

IN THE JUNGLE Hope & Patrick come upon Billie kissing Bo in the cave. Hope reams out Bo, stalks out & he follows her. Hope whacks him across the face, asking how he could do that. Bo has a flashback to Billie asking him to kiss her. They argue, as Bo tries to tell Hope that no one will ever come between them. Hope doubts that. Bo tells her of the Mastermind plan, & she tells him about John & Roman searching for the power source. Hope wants to go back to New Salem, so when the power source is turned off, they can gather the others and escape. Bo says no, they have to stay and search for DiMera. Hope is angry, saying that again Bo is putting his family last. Bo tries to explain why he has to go after the Phoenix, and tells her to trust in their wedding vows. He reassures her, and they embrace. (No kiss, huh?)

Meanwhile, Patrick & Billie have a few words about the kiss, with Billie assuring Patrick that it was SHE who asked Bo for the kiss. (what difference does that make?) Billie tries to convince Patrick how innocent she is, and attempts to explain herself, but Patrick doesn’t buy any of it. Billie tells him that no one could ever break up Bo & Hope – unless maybe he has other ideas! She proceeds to egg Patrick on about Hope, but claims that she, herself, only wants to bring DiMera to his knees. Bo walks in, asking how? Billie tells them all that she was captured in Europe by Stefano’s goons, when she discovered Marlena was being set up as the serial killer. (So, Billie, HOW did you discover that?……..I hate all these big holes in story). She says she didn’t see Stefano, but heard one of her jailers mention his name. She tells them all to return to New Salem, while she goes back to the DiMera compound, as she has been there, and probably remembers the way. (Hmmm, she ran last time, with Mr. Dart Man following her, now she thinks she can go back, sight unseen….) Bo says no, she is not going alone, & both Hope & Patrick say they are going, too.

As Bo & Billie leave the cave, she apologizes to him for the trouble she caused. Bo says he loves his wife, she says she knows that, and he says fine……as long as we got that that straight. Back in the cave, Patrick tells Bo she is amazing. Hope replies that she has faced Stefano before, & is not afraid to face him again…..she just doesn’t want to lose her husband in the process. Patrick asks “to Stefano…..or to Billie”?. Hope tells him she & Bo are back on track, and enough on her personal life, let’s go get DiMera, & get the hell off this island. She leaves, & Patrick mutters aloud that getting off the island will be hard, but keeping Billie from interfering in your marriage…..nearly impossible. And on the next show….

Shawn is packing his gear as Jan says she cannot wait to get him home (hope she dismantled that cage,), but Shawn says he’s going to the loft. Jan is worried cuz Belle is there.

Bart & Tony are looking at a bank of monitors, as Bart asks “Is that who I think it is”? Tony smiles his evil, but charming grin as he just raises an eyebrow, saying, Uh, huh.

Billie screams for Bo, who goes to her, as Patrick pushes Hope to safety, while an earthquake rocks them all.

Summary: Mimi agonizes over her decision as Bonnie offers support…Shawn is determined to leave the hospital…Tek and Brady arrive on the island, followed by Nicole…as John, Roman, Hope, Patrick, Bo and Billie make their way through the jungle. All the while they are being watched.

At the Hospital…Shawn is determined to discharge himself, he rips up Belle’s picture, saying she is responsible for everything and never wants to see her again. Lexie gets called away and tells him not to leave, at least until she gets back. She comes back later, begging him not to leave, but he is determined. She gives him her phone number and tells him to call her if he needs her. Jan can’t wait to get him home, but he says he isn’t going there, he is going to the loft and storms out…followed by a frantic Jan.

At the Loft…Mimi cuddles her bear as she has flashbacks. Rex comes in asking what is wrong. He offers to call Lexie, but Bonnie rushes in to see her baby, sending him on an errand to get juice. Mimi tells her she had the abortion and feels horrible now. Bonnie hugs her and tries to assure her that she did the right thing. Mimi asks her if she is sorry she had her, Patrick and Conner, but Bonnie says she loves them and they are the best things in her life. She tells Mimi about having an abortion her self when she was younger and the guy abandoned her. She tells her that she went through the same pain, but it gets easier every day. But Mimi says she will never get over this. She tries to assure Mimi she did the right thing. Out in the hallway, Rex calls Lexie but she only tells him that he needs to talk to Mimi. He comes back with soup from the pub and tells them he called Lexie. Panicked, Mimi asks what she said and he tells her that she told him to talk to her. He asks what is wrong…he is worried about her. Bonnie pipes in, telling him that it is a female thing and she just doesn’t want to talk about it. (Something that usually stops the questions for a man, lol). Bonnie goes to leave and tells Mimi to call her. After she is gone, Rex talks about how worried he is about her and that he loves her.

On Melaswen…Brady and Tek have arrived on the island and are now in the jungle. Nicole is following closely behind. She wishes she hadn’t come as she sits to rest and a spider is crawling on her hand. She screams and stomps it to death. Up ahead, Brady and Tek have heard her and Brady recognizes the scream. They set a trap and when Nicole wanders through they trip her. Tek accuses her of being in on what is going on, and being there to warn her accomplices. But she explains about stowing away and following them, only wanting to help. Tek reminds Brady that Nicole was a suspect in 2 murders…Colin Murphy’s and Victor Kiriakis’. Brady demands the truth but she swears she only wants to help. Tek wants to take her back to the boat and tie her up, but Brady refuses to do that. Finally Brady rips the map in two and he tells Tek they will split up, Nicole going with him. After Tek leaves, Nicole kisses Brady. He worries she will be a distraction as he lectures how dangerous that place is. They hear a growl in the jungle and take off.

Elsewhere…John and Roman are trekking through the jungle looking for the power source. Meanwhile Tony and Bart are watching their every move on closed circuit cameras and planning a surprise. Roman notices the animals are all active, sensing something. Then the ground begins to shake. After it stops, John and Roman are both okay. John says it wasn’t a regular earthquake, something fishy is going on. Tony and Bart watch and talk about how they caused it. John and Roman find tire tracks and decide to follow them.

Also…Tony and Bart are watching Bo, Hope, Billie and Patrick on camera. Billie is explaining to them how she was held captive. She urges the others to go back to town and let her go on ahead to the DiMera compound. But Bo says no, so they all 4 decide to go. As they prepare to leave, Patrick is talking to Hope about Bo and Billie. Outside the cave, Billie apologizes for what happened earlier. Hope goes to get her flashlight just as the quake hits. Billie falls into a hole and Bo saves her as Patrick throws himself over Hope to protect her. Hope and Patrick end up trapped inside the cave (the entrance is blocked by a boulder). Remembering how Tony just “appeared” when Jennifer was in labor, Patrick is sure that there is another entrance. As he goes to look for it, Bo and Hope talk through a small hole. Hope tells Bo for him and Billie to go ahead and find John and Roman and Billie thinks she can find her way. She assures him that they will be okay. Bo tells her he loves her and they take off. Bo is worried about Hope, but Billie assures him that Hope can take care of herself. Meanwhile Tony shows Bart something…it is someone in a cell, but you can’t see who it is. Bart asks “Is that who I think it is?” Later, we see Bart look inside as a man charges up screaming at him (sorry, you can’t tell who it is, but I would guess it to be either (a) Dr. Rolf or (b) Colin Murphy.) He quickly closes the door and asks HOW did Tony and Stef bring him back? Hope can’t find Patrick and is wandering through the cave and someone grabs her from behind. It is Patrick and they make their way out of the cave. As they go along, they spot someone an go into attack mode, but it is John and Roman. Tony and Bart get an alarm about 4 people outside the compound and they check their cameras to see Hope, Patrick, Roman and John. He tells Bart to prepare holding cells. He says to catch them he will play on John’s weakness…to protect others…therefore, someone must die. Suddenly someone is shooting darts at them and Roman is hit. John catches the next one in his hand (lol). But then Patrick is hit and goes down. Bart alerts Tony that there are yet more intruders in another sector. Tony says NO ONE is going to beat him at his own game. Bo and Billie see what is going on with the others as Bo tells her she knows what to do and they split up. As John and Hope check on Roman and Patrick, men step out of the bushes. John grabs Hope and they cling to each other…as the previews show…

On the Next Days of Our Lives…

Shawn (to Belle): You asked him to make love to you…(Belle): How do yo know that? (Shawn): I saw it with my own eyes!…

Nicole (to Brady): What is this place? (Brady): I have no idea, but I am going to find out. (Nicole): I was afraid you were going to say that…

Bart (to Tony): What now Boss? (Tony): Wait til you see what’s in store for them now…it’s quite amazing…

Bo (screaming): DiMERA!!!! NOOOOOO!…..

Summary: On Melaswen our super heros find themselves in hot (make that cold) water (sort of) while Nicole and Brady go unnoticed amidst cameras and surveillance equipment (amazing); Tek and Abe share a cold one and get caught up. In real Salem, Celeste worries about Lexie while Shawn returns to the loft with Jan (wouldn't you think he'd find Zack, his family after hearing his parents are dead?...nah...)

Lexie checks her voicemail and hears a message Tek left her that he and Brady had gone off to find Bo and John. She tells her mother she already lost one man she loves, she can't lose another. In the second half, Lexie only admits she wouldn't be unfaithful to Abe with a man she didn't care about. Celeste reminds her about her theory that Abe isn't dead. Lexie breaks down saying she loved Abe, but their vows were until death they do part, and he's dead. Celeste realizes that Lexie is in love with Tek. The two disagree on if Abe's dead or alive and Lexie's determined to move on and to give Theo a father as well.

Belle goes to visit Shawn at the hospital and the nurse tells her he's left there with Jan. Meanwhile, Shawn arrives home to his loft and Rex tells him Mimi lives there now. He asks if he knows about “Philip and Belle”, which Shawn says he does (c'mon Rex..you were his big champion all darn summer...tell him how much Belle's whined over him!). Rex tells him that he and Mimi will share the loft with him, but Jan wants him to live with her being they're engaged. (gee, your folks are supposedly both dead..how about their house and Zack? Why weren't Julie and Mickey at the hospital more?) Shawn goes to check out his room and Jan knocks Mimi's purse off the couch intentionally and finds the clinic's name and phone number. She figures out Mimi had the abortion and Rex doesn't know. Mimi notices the slip is gone. Rex asks what's wrong. She tells him she needed to call Java Cafe and tell them she wouldn't be able to work the next day. Rex offers to call for her.

Shawn throws things in a box to return to Belle. (he's been gone all summer and the room's still a mess..socks hanging from shelves, bed unmade) He puts a picture of him and Belle in the box and holding the pink bear, remembers Belle telling him to remember how much she loves him whenever seeing it (then seeing her and Philip kissing). He tosses the bear in the box too. Jan suggests he leave it there and move on as Mimi walks in and tells Jan maybe Shawn doesn't want to move on. (Ok, can see it coming that Jan will threaten to tell Rex about the abortion if Mimi doesn't back off) Mimi asks to speak with Shawn alone and he agrees. Jan gives Mimi five minutes and steps outside the room. (c'mon Meems..you know Jan..SHUT the door!) She doesn't and Jan lurks outside and eavesdrops as Mimi tells Shawn that he and Belle belong together (wasn't she the one encouraging Belle to sleep with Philip?) Shawn tells Mimi to wrap her head around the idea that he and Belle are history and move on. He takes the box with things that belong to Belle and goes to take them to Belle's loft with Jan in his wake. Mimi warns Spears that she'll lose Shawn to Belle, but Jan subtly warns Lockhart to watch out or she'll know what it's like to lose a man first hand herself. Rex joins Mimi as she's clueless to what Jan meant.

Shawn walks into the loft and overhears Philip's message playing on the answering machine when he walks in and remembers seeing Belle and Philip together at the PHG. Jan remembers telling Nicole on the phone from the hospital how Shawn forgot about being her love slave as he puts the picture down. He asks Jan to get his other jacket upstairs. Belle walks in (alone) and is happy to see him. She gives him the chocolates she brought him in the hospital. He accuses her of sleeping with his best friend, but she tells him they only share the apartment. He flashes on her asking Philip to make love to her and she doesn't deny it (although doesn't know how he SAW that), but he should know that she didn't go through with it either as she's saving herself for him. He calls her a liar and a slut as Jan walks in to interrupt.

ON MELASWEN.. Abe overhears someone in the jungle outside his house. He goes outside and finds Tek. Tek can't believe Abe's still alive. He fills Tek in and gives him a beer (Tek's doing better than the others are..when was the last time we saw any of them eat or drink?) He asks Tek for news from home and when asked, Tek tells him that Lexie is fine. Abe realizes that Lexie's moved on and Tek acknowledges she's moved on in her life, she had to, but not romantically. Abe is relieved and Tek changes the subject to the burn on his arm. Abe puts sauve on it (how about offering the guy a shower?) Tek said their next step is to call for back up and pulls his satellite phone out of his bag. He tries to use it and gets shocked as Tony surges the power simultaneously.

Tony and Bart monitor their east jungle cams and call for reinforcements when the cameras aren't working. Billie and Bo see Hope and John at gun point and he realizes they have to time this perfectly as he shoots tranquilizer darts at the guards and take them out. Real gun shots are heard and the foursome kick into fighting mode as more hooded guys arrive. Love how Hope right/left punches her guy as the others do the same. Billie knocks another guard out and takes his weapon, ammo and hopefully radio after just hearing him call for backup (but I don't think she did). Another guy grabs Hope from behind and Billie challenges him to try shooting Hope and he'll be dead before he hits the ground. The guard knows what he has to do, but Billie shoots him and saves Hope.

Bart is worried about this development, but Tony isn't. He tells Bart to never underestimate the power of a Dimera and to see what he has next up his sleeve for their captives. Dart men shoot them all with tranquilizer darts (love how Bo and John think they're invisible or something as they hold their guns up to protect themselves from darts, LOL). John shouts to Tony he won't get away with this as Tony chuckles to his half brother that he already did.

Later we find Hope waking up first in a room. She wakes up Bo, John, Patrick, Billie and Roman. They see a monitor with sharks and fish swimming and figure they're being held in a submerged ocean room. Tony comes on the monitor above it, welcoming them to their new home. (expected Tattoo to shout, the plane, the plane) He admits being behind everything and tells them how he did it as Marlena watched in a trance. They ask why he's doing this, for revenge? He warns them if they try to escape they'll either drown or the sharks will eat them. He reminds them they had all the comforts of home and could be sitting at the Brady pub drinking cordials with the other captives, but no, they got themselves in this place. John promises to escape and Tony will be a dead man when he does. Tony tells his brother he'll see him again, but in Hell..as the monitor rises after the screen darkens. Bo and Hope chat about the boys. Zack wants to be the shark from Shark's Tale for halloween, the one who doesn't like to eat fish or people (gee, was the movie even advertised before Hope left Salem, haha). Tony watches as they hug, vowing Dimera will never separate them. He orders something and we see the captives magnetized to the floor as the goons come in and shoot darts at Hope and Billie's chests (ouch). They pick up the two women and carry them out as Tony mutters to himself that Bo can shout all he want, he'll never see his wife or ex wife again, as they move on to the next step.

Brady and whiny Nicole are elsewhere in the jungle as she wants to take a break. He wants to find his dad and uncle, but she tells him there's no way his father and Uncle “Bozo” can still be alive, LOL. (accident or on purpose?) Later we see Nicole and Brady cooled off after a dip in the water as she only wants Brady, not to help. He hears a car and they duck as two guards radio in that they stopped to fill their canteens. Brady and Nicole hide in the back of the jeep under a blanket as the jeep takes off. They climb out of the jeep when it stops and Brady figures they better hide before the guys return. He pushes her to the ground (which she enjoys) and helps her up when it's clear. Nicole kisses him for luck as they look to see a sign the search light hit and rush off. Nicole comments it's like Jurassic Park as we see her foot about to trip something (a net?) as the previews roll....

Bo accuses Patrick of being a Dimera spy. Patrick denies it and asks what he has to do to prove it..

Abe angrily warns Tek if Tony finds out they've escaped, God knows what he'll do to the ones they left behind...

John gets thrown across the room backwards after getting zapped from something. Bart chuckles that “John just got fried” and in response, laughing, Tony said, “it's positively shocking”...

Belle tells Shawn she hates him and he tells her not as much as he hates her...

Summary: Belle reconsiders her decision…Mimi reconsiders breaking it off with Rex…and Marlena visits with Kate, as Sami plots against her.

At One Loft…
Mimi walks into a dark apartment calling for Rex. He says “don’t call me Rex…” as he flips on music, “just call me Tom Cruise” (oh brother). The music blares as he comes sliding across the floor in his sock feet, underwear and a white dress shirt, lip syncing to the song doing his best TC impression from ‘Risky Business’. He even puts on the dark sunglasses (as Mimi has to hold back the laughter). When he finishes, he asks her if she likes him this way and tells her that he had talked to Belle, who gave him some advice. But Meems isn’t that impressed, telling him that she needs to know that he really loves her or she is leaving. He swears her he loves her, but she wants more than just words. Her mind is made up, so she goes to gather her things. While she is gone, he writes her a song and serenades her when she comes back. But she says he just doesn’t get it, she says it isn’t about the grand gestures, it’s the little everyday things that shows you love someone. He asks her to stay for dinner, but he ruins the chocolate soufflé he had in the oven. As she goes to leave, he pleads with her, saying she is his whole life and says the things she needs to hear. She is touched as he apologizes for not showing his true feelings earlier. They hug and tell that they love each other.

Across the Hall…
Belle tries to study, but loses interest. Shawn comes by and he tells her that he came to be with her, sure that they can make it through this. He says if they follow through with her plans they will regret it. He only wants to make her happy. He pulls out his mom’s photo album as she goes into a tirade not wanting to look at the past, she is only interested in the present (blah, blah, blah). He tries to show her pictures, but she isn’t interested. He shows her some pictures as they talk about Jack and Jennifer, Bo and Hope and John and Marlena. As he talks, some of the pictures come to life and we see a few brief flashbacks (John and Marlena’s first wedding in particular). He talks about the look in her eyes when she had on his grandmother’s wedding dress and promises that their dreams will come true as well. He shows her the picture from their first Last Blast dance (as we see them doing the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ dance). He says that is the night that he realized that he would love her forever. He says that when they wed, his dream will come true. She holds out her hand and asks him to put her ring back on. He does as they say that they love each other.

At the Cop Shop…
Marlena voices her displeasure over John’s plan of setting himself up as a decoy. They talk about the suspects and she is shocked to turn and see Kate, Rex and Sami’s pictures on the board. As she pleads their cases, she asks why Maggie’s picture is up there as well. John explains about Abe pointing to her and calling her name and explains that she is not a suspect, but they believe that she has information that could help solve the case. He also tells her that they have reason to believe that this is a serial killer and that Maggie may be next. John talks about Sami’s behavior and of course, Marlena blames herself for that. John asks her about Rex but she says she hasn’t seen him. He asks about his headaches but Marlena is tight-lipped about what she and Tony discussed. John recalls when he first came to Salem (as the Pawn) he suffered from headaches as well and wonders if there is a connection with Rex. Marlena stops him mid-sentence and doesn’t want to talk about it.

Meanwhile, Roman and a sketch artist are interviewing a witness, the Carver’s gardener (oh, so now they have a maid AND a gardener?) He tells them that he never got a good look, but heard Abe arguing with a woman and if he heard her voice would surely recognize her. He gave them a vague description and the sketch looked enough like Kate that Roman realized it could be her, but keeps silent. Roman gives the gardener a book of mug shots to look through, but John is sure it is a waste of time.

At Basic Black…
Kate and Sami are at it once again, with Kate talking about Sami leaving evidence behind. But she is talking about catching Sami for throwing away complaint letters and is on to her. Kate asks her if she thought she was talking about killing Abe. Sami denies it, saying she didn’t do it. They argue over each other’s motives and then about Kate’s relationship with Roman. Sami says her dad will NEVER marry Kate. Finally, Kate says she has had enough and tells Sami to get back to work…as Sami silently vows to get her good. Later, we see Sami answering the phones “Basic Black, please hold”…”Basic Black, please hold” but she gets frustrated and says “Basic Black, go to hell!” just as Marlena walks in and hears her. LOL as Marlena says she sure doesn’t seem to be the model employee. (On a side note, just WHY is Sami answering the phone?…I thought they stuck her in the dingy basement). Anyway, Sami runs to Marlena, saying she is glad she is back and starts blubbering over Abe’s death. As Marlena questions her, she hugs Marlena, saying she wants to tell her everything, but is afraid she won’t love her anymore (as Kate listens from her office). Sami cries to Marlena about being innocent and that John is against her, (her usual mantra) but Marlena says that she and John both love her and if she is innocent, the facts will prove it. Sami turns the tables, saying that Kate is the killer. In her office, Kate mumbles “Oh joy…that bitch will be my future step-daughter”.

Kate asks Marlena into her office as they talk about Abe’s death. They talk about how Kate and Sami are both suspects, but Kate is sure that she will be quickly cleared. She tells Marlena that Roman is going to propose to her and wants to make sure that Marlena doesn’t tell him about her sordid past. Marlena points out that since she counseled Kate, she is bound by confidentiality (since when did THAT stop anyone in Salem?). Marlena promises to never tell, but urges Kate to tell him herself. Meanwhile, Sami is at the door eaves dropping, trying to hear. John calls for Marlena and complains that he is frustrated in the case because Roman is busy trying to protect Kate. He tells her about the witness they have and how his description fits Kate but Roman won’t even show him her picture or bring her in for a line up. (Of course Sami is listening on the line). Marlena says she will be right over and will try and talk to Roman. After she leaves, Sami tells Kate that Roman called and wants her to come over to the police station. After she leaves, Sami smiles, saying she is sure the gardener will ID her and she will be arrested for Abe’s murder.

Back at the Cop Shop…
As the gardener is looking through the mug shots, Marlena returns. She and John leave as Kate arrives (followed closely by Sami). As Kate primps in the doorway, Sami thinks she doesn’t know it yet, but she is going DOWN…as the previews roll…

On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

On his knees, Roman says “I love you…Kate Roberts, will you marry me?”…

Sami tells Lucas to get out of there…Kate is about to go down for murdering Abe Carver…

Brady asks Nicole why she is so nervous and she snaps “Damnit Brady, I did NOT kill Abe!”

Lexie is shaking Maggie yelling “Tel me who killed my husband…is it someone you know?” Maggie screams “YES!”…

And the credits roll…

Summary: Witnesses identify two of the suspects while Lexie hypnotizes Maggie for what she knows (again, kudos to Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) for her performance), Jack blurts out a warning to Abe's killer on IN THE HOUSE that's sure to make him the next victim.

SALEM PLACE
Jennifer approves of Jack’s newspaper article about Abe’s death, albeit a sad one under the circumstances. She hopes he understands why she made sure he’s off this investigation. Assuring her nothing will happen to him, he promises to continue putting his family first and tells her he loves her. They talk about their next IN THE HOUSE, a tribute to Abe Carver, realizing it will be hard to say goodbye to someone when you can’t believe they’re gone.

The show begins with a picture of Abe on a tripod as Jennifer and Jack solemnly start the show. They introduce Abe’s mother in law, Celeste, who is donned in black with a big black hat with white feathers (but still low cleavage of course). She tells the audience how Abe was on the way to his son’s christening. As she’s talking she’s gripped with a premonition about the killer. Jack asks if she knows who it is. No, she doesn’t, just feels it’s a tormented soul and may kill again. Jack jumps in about some research he did and agrees, this person may kill again. Jennifer questions if he’s still investigating, but he denies doing so, but tells her she erased his files, not his memory (LOL). They return to solemnly talk about how Theodore will grow up fatherless and about Abby. Jennifer glares at Jack when he says on camera that none of them will rest until the guilty party is arrested and behind bars. While Celeste prays for the person responsible to be caught before someone else is hurt. Jack has the camera do a close up on himself and gives a message to Abe’s murderer (who I’m sure is sitting around watching IN THE HOUSE right now, LOL). He tells them that he knows all the cases that Abe was working on and has the goods on them. He will not rest until they go down. Jennifer is shocked as she watches her husband doing this.

After the show Jennifer and Jack argue. She tells him he should have a big X on his chest as a target.

Nicole is at Java Café, overhearing some other patrons commenting that the killer will get caught and put on death row. Brady arrives to see her spill her coffee after hearing that. Nosey Brady asks why she’s so nervous after hearing the other women and she blasts out that she didn’t kill Abe. He subtly reminds her that not only is she one of the suspects for Abe’s murder, but prime suspect for Colin Murphy’s as well. When he mentions knowing John’s theory about Colin’s murder, she grabs his arm, wanting to know. He explains how all Abe’s files were burned, so there’s no evidence now. He also tells her about the matchbooks and new one found from Tuscany at Abe’s house. (John should be a little tighter lipped, wouldn’t ya think?) Nicole knows she has an alibi though and it’s him that night at Tuscany. He reminds her about her being gone for a while (just how far is the Carver home from Tuscany?), supposedly to make a phone call, and she asks him not to mention that. Taking his hand, she says he knows her and she’d never kill anyone. She won’t answer him when he asks if she killed Colin or Abe and he leaves.

SALEM UNIV. HOSPITAL
Maggie runs into Lexie in the hallway. Lexie is taking some time off, but stopped by to pass along some patient files to the doctor who’s filling in for her (ahh…this must be a soap for such personalized care, snicker) Maggie mentions she was there to see Marlena, but Marlena’s not there and that something’s come up about Abe’s murder. Maggie’s confused as to why Abe said her name. She wanted to talk about a suspicion she has with Marlena, but she’s not there and….Lexie insists that Maggie tell her about it, right now. They go into Lexie’s office to talk and Maggie tells Lexie about the singing children’s voices she heard, a nursery rhyme. Lexie asks if it’s the same one Alice heard before Abe was killed? Maggie, in tears, said no, this one was about her. Maggie’s trying so hard to remember whatever it could be. Lexie suggests a way to retrieve whatever it is, using hypnosis. She studied hypnosis extensively while she was a resident (she barely went to medical school, haha). Lexie promises Maggie would be relieved of any tension or fear under hypnosis. Maggie’s agreeable (the fact it’s Abe’s widow she’s working with doesn’t appear unethical?) Lexie calmly prepares the office and has Maggie relax on her couch as she talks her under. (if my husband were murdered the day before, I couldn’t be as calm and collected as Lexie, I’m impressed)

We return to Maggie under hypnosis. She remembers Abe at Java Café with another man on the day he was murdered (think she is referring to Abe’s informant who was murdered that day). Lexie asks Maggie to tell her who she sees. Maggie grows hysterical, saying she can only remember the eyes of the person and they’re sooo cold. Lexie sits next to Maggie and grows impatient as she shakes Maggie, demanding to know if Maggie knew Abe’s killer. Maggie finally shouts yes, she knows the killer.

COP SHOP
A replay of Sami’s devious way to get Kate to Roman’s office for the witness to see and hear her. We see Kate greet Roman. He remembered how she told him she loved him over the police radio and is not embarrassed now to propose to her in front of the whole squad room on bended knee as the rest of the people watch smiling. She says yes and they hug with clapping all around. Sami wonders what’s going on inside. Of course we see it’s Kate’s daydreaming this time (yeah, if Roman was that jubilant the day after his best friend was shot dead, I’d be worried). Sami hides as she sees Lucas (with a new slicked down hairstyle (which doesn’t do anything for me) and in a suit) grabs Kate before she goes inside, asking if she was brought in for questioning. She assures him no, that she believes Roman’s going to propose. Sami snickers from around the corner, anxious for the police to take care of Kate so she can move on to taking care of John. Lucas is happy to hear Kate’s reason for being there and says Sami should be the one questioned for Abe’s murder. Sami tells herself she’s confident she handled the situation with the security guard and will not have to worry. She overhears Kate and Lucas talking softly about something and moves closer. She hears there is something that Kate’s keeping from Roman. She tells Lucas that Sami admitted defeat about her and Roman which Lucas doesn’t buy.

Apparently there’s another entrance to the detective room as an officer brings the security guard from SP in to see Roman. He tells Roman about how he locked his gun in the lock box at Salem Place. He noticed a bullet was missing from his chamber afterward. After hearing about Abe, he needed to report what happened. Roman asks for the woman’s name and he remembered Sandy Smith and agrees, he could identify her. He’s led off to look at pictures.

Roman returns to Abe’s gardener who reiterates that he’d recognize the woman’s voice that was arguing with Abe. Kate walks in and Roman steps aside to speak with her. He denied leaving a message with Sami and wonders what da hell Sami is up to now. He softly suggests she go down and wait for him at Salem Place (not wanting the gardener to hear her voice).

In the hall, Lucas grabs Sami and asks what she’s up to. She says she’s there to see Roman, but knows Kate’s about ready to go down for murdering Abe and he’ll be her accomplice. Kate walks out and joins them, furious to be led on a wild goose chase. Sami denies it being a wild goose chase and Kate walks back in to tell Roman and tell him what Sami did. The gardener jumps up, recognizing her voice as Sami demands Roman arrest her for his best friend’s murder. Kate denies arguing with Abe, saying she went there concerned about the long hours Roman would have to work if he were commander. The gardener (with great hearing) disagrees, saying Abe told her he had something on her and was going to tell Roman about it. Sami is happy to see Kate slither. She asks the gardener if he saw her leave or shoot Abe? He says no. She tells Roman that Abe was concerned if she was good for Roman, due to her history. Sami keeps interrupting and Roman yells at her to shut up. The officer showing the security guard pictures in Roman’s office interrupts, saying their man wants to speak with him. Roman excuses himself and says he’ll be right back to talk with Kate about everything she and Abe talked about that morning. He leaves and the gardener (witness) is left there to hear Sami tell Kate that her father will find out what a lying slut she really is and will never marry her. He’ll put handcuffs on her wrists instead of a ring on her finger.

In Roman’s office, the guard says he has to leave, but will return the next day to look at more pictures. Roman returns to Kate, Lucas and Sami. As they’re talking, the guard walks out and recognizes Sami as the woman who had his gun. Lucas grabs Sami as she tries to leave and tells her now who’ll be wearing those handcuffs as the rest stare in shock at this latest development…. the previews for tomorrow’s show roll…

Marlena warns John that most likely the killer will strike again and doesn’t want him to be the next victim…

Sami asks Roman if he doesn’t want to know what was so bad that Abe had on Kate that caused her and Lucas to have killed him over it…

Jennifer tells Jack that whoever killed Abe is coming after him next…

As John tells Jack that he made a mistake today…Jack tells him not to start…but John grabs him and said one that could cost him his life….

John & Jack comfort their wives after explaining themselves, while Roman finds some truths, and Maggie’s hypnosis session goes awry.

AT THE COP SHOP we have a repeat of the Salem Place guard recognizing Sami. Sami goes on the defensive, accusing Kate, Lucas chimes in here and there. Roman wants the truth from Sami, & the lies roll off her tongue so fast, Lucas can hardly keep count. (Will someone please wash his hair…that greasy look is not attractive at all..JMHO!) He draws a stick figure of a gallows and pins it on the suspect board. Voices get louder and louder as Roman demands Sami tell all, and she finally admits taking the guard’s gun. But Sami now points the finger at Kate, saying she should explain about arguing with Abe that morning. Roman finally tells all 3 they have to give statements and not to leave town, as he dismisses them.

AT SALEM PLACE, we see a repeat of Jennifer arguing with Jack, telling him he should have painted a big red bull’s eye on his chest, since he wants to be a target. They argue about his on air statement that he knows everything that Abe was working on, etc. John arrives and agrees with Jen, about Jack getting himself into harm’s way, and really gives him what for. Jen leaves. John & Jack have coffee at the Java Café, talk about Abe’s death, their wives’ reactions to them putting themselves in danger. John tells Jack to make sure he doesn’t write a story about Maggie, Jack assures him he would not put Jen’s aunt in danger. They talk of the suspects, of Victor and of Tony, and John tries to talk Jack out of working on this, for the sake of his wife and child, but Jack feels if he does something for the good of the community, he is doing what he can to protect his family. Jack leaves.

AT THE BRADY PUB, Caroline turns on the TV to hear Jack make his challenge to Abe’s killer. She turns off the TV, telling Alice this means only one thing, and Alice replies “Trouble”. Later, Jen arrives, upset at Jack. Alice tells her she cannot blame Jack. Jen insists Grampa Tom would never have done something like that, but Alice says you’d be surprised. Then both Caroline and Alice relate to Jen how Tom went to war as a medic, up at the front lines, while Alice was back in Salem raising a family. He volunteered, didn’t have to go, but felt by helping others, he was helping protect his family back at home. Jack comes in, Jen goes to him. He apologizes for this morning, but she says, we have to talk and they leave.

AT SALEM HOSPITAL Marlena & John talk about him putting himself in danger, with his statement to the press. Tho John claims he can take care of himself, Marlena points out that Abe thought so, too, and was a cop. She gets a note from a nurse about a patient trying to find her, and leaves. John sees Jack making his statement on TV, says aloud, Jack – shut up! He leaves for Salem Place. (see above)
Maggie is becoming very distressed under hypnosis, as Lexie badgers her to say who the killer is. Maggie talks of the killer’s eyes, how evil, pure evil they were. She cannot breathe, but Lexie continues to push her for a name. Marlena comes in, calms Maggie down, and scolds Lexie, who insists she only wants to know who killed her husband. Marlena is the voice of reason. Maggie begins shuddering, crying and Marlena tries to calm her down. She tells Lexie they are losing her. (Kudos to Suzanne Rogers, her scenes are fabulous!) She suddenly slaps Maggie, who is instantly quiet. She tells Lexie that pain is the strongest human emotion, and the slap was sort of like shock therapy. She gets Maggie to come out of the hypnosis.

Maggie sits up, and Marlena reassures her. Maggie mentions the children’s voices, but Marlena is puzzled. Lexie tells her of the strange things that were occurring before Abe’s death. The Lizzie Borden chant that Alice heard, how Alice & Mickey both saw Tom’s ghost, Celeste’s premonitions. Maggie then repeats the words the children’s voices chanted at her….Salem Stalker took a gun, gave Abe Carver a deadly one, and when they saw what they had done, gave Maggie Horton another one. Marlena thinks some children were playing a cruel joke, but Maggie assures her there were no children. She is scared. She saw the face, knows it is pure evil, but cannot remember it. Marlena says it is deep in her mind, it can be brought out, will take some time, and she will work with her on it. Maggie leaves. Marlena calls John, telling him she needs him.

Maggie leaves the hospital, via the inner staircase. The door closes behind her, lights go out. She tries to get back into the hospital, but door is locked. Children’s voices begin giggling. She runs down the stairs. And previews for the next episode show….

Lucas asking Sami how Marlena will feel when Roman tells her he had to arrest their daughter

Summary: Shawn, Belle, Mimi and Rex end up stranded on an island…while everyone else gathers at Tuscany….Jack and Jennifer make plans for their future…And everyone sees the moon as a bad omen.

At the Pub…
Shawn and Belle are going to borrow the Brady boat for a romantic evening cruise. Mimi asks if she can tag along so she can conduct an experiment for a school project. Of course, Rex invites himself as well, to which Shawn naturally objects. After the guys argue over the usual stuff, Belle and Mimi break them up and Shawn gives in. After telling Belle he has a surprise planned, Shawn leaves and goes to Tuscany. He gives Uncle Mickey the poor mouth about being broke (what did he do with all the money his folks gave him???) Mickey gives him money and makes sure he realizes that it is an advance on his salary (way to go Mickey…enough with the handouts!) We see Rex outside on the phone with Bart making arrangements for an evening no one will forget. Shawn returns to the pub and they all leave as Rex promises Mimi a night she won’t forget. Later, they are on some island (don’t think it’s Smith Island though) and Mimi heads off to do her experiment. (Something about turtles mating…whatever). Alone, Shawn and Belle discuss Rex’s strange behavior. They decide to call home and let their respective parents know where they are, but neither of them brought their cell phones. Later, Mimi finishes up her experiment as Rex has the beginnings of one of his headaches. Determined to not let it ruin their evening, he leads her to a clearing where he has a picnic ready for her, complete with candles, and she is excited. Shawn goes to get something from the boat and returns to tell Belle that there is a problem with the fuel line and they are stuck there. He found 2 sleeping bags on the boat and they find Rex and Mimi and give them the news. Mimi and Rex doesn’t mind, but Shawn and Belle are both uncomfortable about sharing a sleeping bag. Later, Shawn has a fantasy about him and Belle getting it on so they end up sleeping back to back to avoid temptation. He decides to go for a swim as both of them notice the full moon rising and how red it is. As Rex and Mimi are having sex, he is having a terrible headache, saying this one’s a real killer.

At the Cop Shop…
Roman eyes the suspect board and takes out the engagement ring, looking at it as Kate walks in (she has just finished with her statement). She tells him to return it. Sami and Lucas have just finished with their statements as well (note how Lucas’ hair isn’t as slicked back now). The come face to face in the hallway and argue and exchange insults as usual. Lucas says when Brandon finds out what she did, he WILL come back for her…come back to kill her that is. She swears she is innocent and that he and his mother are trying to frame her again. Lucas picks up the paper (with the headline reading ‘Who Will Nail the Salem Killer?’). On the front page are pictures of Jack, John and Maggie (I thought they were keeping Maggie out of the press??).

At Tuscany….
Jack and Jennifer are there still arguing over what he did on-air. Jack apologizes, but Jennifer tells him that she got advice from Alice and Caroline and realizes that he is a lot like her grandfather. She says she realizes he is doing this to protect his family and loves him for it. She tells him that she wants to have another baby. He orders champagne and they make a toast to their family. Jack vows his love for her and goes as far to start scribbling it down on a napkin and signs it. As Mickey and Maggie walk by, he asks them to be his witnesses. After he pays the tab, they head home.

Earlier, Mickey showed up with flowers for Maggie (notice she has changed from that dreadful orange jacket she has been wearing for a week) Marlena and John are also there and watch Mickey and Maggie from the bar. She tells him about Maggie’s experience and how worried she is about her. John starts again about wanting the killer to come after him, which upsets her. She has a paper and reads part of the article aloud and is upset that John has put himself in that position. They walk over to find Mickey trying to calm Maggie down. She tells them about hearing the voices again and Mickey asks Marlena for her help.

Roman arrives at Tuscany, telling Marlena and John that there has been a break in the case and that they have 3 main suspects…their daughter, his girlfriend and the father of their grandchild. He begins to tell them about the witness and Sami stealing the gun. Marlena is shocked and stops mid-sentence as Sami walks up and asks “Sami, how could you?” Sami swears she is innocent and launches into her ‘poor me’ routine and pleads with her mom to believe her. But Marlena just walks away. Kate and Lucas have just arrived in time to witness the end of this as Kate follows Marlena to the ladies room. Inside, Marlena is upset with Kate for lying to her as well. She levels with Marlena that she did argue with Abe but that was all. She asks Marlena if she believes she killed Abe. Marlena leaves, telling her that she is just upset and confused right now.

Lucas and Sami take the opportunity to argue again with him telling her if she goes down, he will get full custody of Will. She says NO ONE will take Will, she will kill them first and she won’t need a gun…she will use her bare hands…just as Maggie walks up to hear this. Lucas says he has a witness as Maggie turns tail and scurries off like a scared rabbit.

Then Sami and John get into it, with her saying he ruined her life, and that she will make him pay. Marlena walks up behind her and overhears this and is furious with Sami. Sami storms off, with Marlena saying that she doesn’t even know her daughter anymore. Kate approaches Roman, but he doesn’t even want to talk to her for lying to him. She swears that she didn’t kill Abe. Sami and Lucas get into it again, with her ending up grabbing him around the neck and choking him (yes, it is one of her twisted little fantasy scenes).

At the Deveraux Home…
Jack and Jennifer return home (he notes that Abby is at Jo and Vern’s) and they have a romantic evening. They go to the bedroom where there are candles lit everywhere and they fall to the bed kissing. Later in the after glow, she notices a red glow outside and they go over to look at the moon through the window.

As everyone is leaving Tuscany (did anyone even eat, besides Jack and Jennifer?) they notice the red moon as well. Mickey and Maggie see it as she comments that she has heard of a blue moon and a harvest moon, but what is that one called. Mickey claims to have forgotten, but finally tells her it is referred to as a “blood moon” which frightens her. John and Marlena walk out and see it and she notes that she is a psychiatrist and doesn’t believe in omens and signs, but it gives her the creeps. She asks John to take her home and hold her all night. Inside, Roman decides to leave as well. Kate asks him if he believe that she killed Abe, but he says that he can’t be with a woman who lies to him. As he leaves he steps outside and sees the moon and stops. Kate has followed him and both stare. He says he wonders if it is a sign from Abe that someone close to him has blood on their hands. They walk off as Sami and Lucas walk out next. They both stare at the moon and without a word, Lucas just turns and stares at Sami, then walks off. Sami stars at the moon as the camera freeze frames on her face…and the previews roll.

On the next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Victor walks in on Brady and Nicole (as they are exercising, I think) and barks “What the HELL is going on here?”…

Kate tells John that she did NOT kill Abe. John says “If you are guilty, this job is not going to save you…I’m taking you to jail.”…

We hear Mimi scream as the camera flashes to a series of shocked faces…Mimi, John, Maggie, Jack…and then we see Rex chopping something with an axe…

and the credits roll…

AT THE KIRIAKIS HOME Nicole comes down in exercise clothes, and begins some stretching exercises. A shirtless, well oiled Brady walks in, & she asks him for some pointers. Victor arrives, hears them talking and walks in to find Nicole's leg on Brady’s shoulder, and demands to know what is going on. He scolds Brady for missing an appt. with the attorney about the record company, (Brady did not know) and Brady leaves. He tells Nik hands off my grandson, but she says no, she will no longer do his bidding. (Yeah, right.) She tells him she had intended to tape “Queer Eye for a Straight Guy” on Bravo, but pressed wrong button, taping instead Jack & Jennifer’s lame show. She plays Jack’s comments to Abe’s killer, saying the Hardy boy is at it again. LOL. Vic shows her the newspaper, which says Bo Brady is taking over Abe Carver’s high profile cases. Nicole immediately tells Vic that he should off John, Jack & Maggie before they blab any more of what they know. She leaves to get dressed, Vic calls Nico saying he has a pressing errand for him, and will meet him out back. Nik comes down immediately with a long sweatshirt over her outfit, and sneaks out the front door.

OVER AT BASIC BLACK Kate & Sami are at it again, same ol conversation about which of them did Abe in, and that Sami’s father will never marry Kate. Later, the outer room is empty, as John arrives, notes something suspicious about the door to his office, and asks Joelle if he has any appointment. She says no, he pulls his gun and goes in, finding Brady. They talk of Abe’s murder, and John offers Brady a wad of cash to move somewhere else, saying he is going to be implicated if Victor and/or Nik are involved, that he knows Brady already lied to protect them. Brady refuses the cash, & John tells him that he is blind to Victor’s faults, but not blind to his pretty wife. As Brady and John begin to leave, Kate arrives, wanting to talk. John warns her that her job will not save her if she is guilty, but she says she did not kill Abe, and never lied to John. He retorts that she lied to the man she professes to love, not a good thing. He leaves, and an eavesdropping Sami follows.

MAGGIE IS LOOKING at pieces in her jewelry chest, and remembers her conversation with Mickey about the blood moon. Aloud she says it is not over, and Alice says, far from it. They talk a bit of Maggie’s fears of what she knows, and she reads from a book how the blood moon got it’s name. From the great massacres of the Middle Ages, and it was thought the moon reflected all the blood that was spilled. Maggie talks of all the jewelry she has accumulated over the years married to Mickey, and wants Alice to make sure Melissa & Sarah get it. She cries at how Abe’s death has affected her, and how she must know something, but can’t remember.

Roman looks at the suspect board, and thinks of Kate. John comes in to pick up some files, asking Roman if he wants to talk, but no. John leaves, Roman finds a picture of him and Abe, relaxing with a couple of beers. He puts it up on the board, promising to find Abe’s killer.

Belle & Shawn wake up on the island, as does Mimi, who sees Rex with a big club raised over his head and screams. Rex whacks the ground, as Shawn comes flying out to tackle Rex. Belle follows close behind, and she screams, pointing to the ground. Mimi jumps up, screaming. Is a snake. (BTW, both Rex & Shawn are shirtless, tho this is already October – must be a mandatory thing on Days, lolol) They both go to gather wood for a fire (see, must be cool!!) when the gals arrive, saying the Coast Guard saw their boat, and will tow them back.

AT THE DEVERAUX HOME, Jennifer is dreaming of Jack kissing her, when he is really kissing her awake. They tell each other how much they love one another. A bit later Jack brings breakfast in bed to Jen, who has fallen back asleep. He has decaf coffee, they tease one another, talk about perhaps having made a baby, and if not, they will just try, try again. He is dressed, & she teases him for taking a shower w/o her, to which he replies, there is tomorrow, tomorrow, etc. He is nuzzling her neck when Abby is at their door, saying that hickeys are hard to cover up on live TV. LOLOL. Jen wants to know WHERE she heard about hickeys, and leaves to make Abby’s lunch, so her father can “talk” with her, about the male perspective on the birds & the bees. (These scenes are really cute, down to earth, and Matt Ashford is a genius, I swear). When Abby says Todd Felix told her about hickeys, Jack is all fatherly concern, but that is not the boy Abby likes. When Abby won’t tell, Jack turns on the big guns……a tickle session. Abby is all giggles as Jen comes in, enjoying the scene. Jack tells Abby how much he loves her, how proud he is of her. She leaves and Jack watches out the window.

Later, both Jack & Jennifer decide to take the day off completely. The show is being preempted for some local thing, so they will spend the day together, but first Jen has to pick up a surprise for Jack at Salem Place. He also has to pick something up. They leave, Jack forgot his wallet, goes back to the bedroom for it, takes one look around, looks at the bed and smiles. As they leave, Jack straightens their wedding picture, which is hanging a bit crooked on the wall. (my heart is just breaking here)

SALEM PLACE
Jack & Jen arrive, exchange a few kisses, and agree to meet at noon at Java Café.
The kids arrive at Salem Place, with Belle hoping her dad will not be in danger. They turn around, and Rex has disappeared. We see him holding his head, sitting on a bench, calling Bart to inquire about Tony, and getting upset that Tony is not home.
Roman is sitting at the Java Café, and is soon joined by Jennifer. She shows him her surprise for Jack. She had every article he ever wrote since 3rd grade put into this beautiful leather album.
Jack comes out of the jewelry store, carrying a small bag, and pulls out what like a bracelet box, and walks along.
John is on the cell phone to Marlena, talking about all the suspects, how many are related in some way to them, but he wants to bring the killer to justice.
We see Brady returning to an empty house, wondering where everyone is.
Roman leaves Jen at the Café, telling her he is sure Jack will enjoy the album.
Jack stops walking, checking his watch, which has stopped. He slips it off, worried about being late to meet Jennifer. (he seems to be in an area where there are dumpsters) Maggie walks alone, telling herself she doesn’t need those shoes she saw, and deciding she will call Mickey and tell him she is on her way.
We see a leather gloved hand, holding a very large brick, raised in the air. The scenes flash between, John, Maggie, & Jack, with the gloved hand & brick interspersed inbetween. The scenes of John, Maggie & Jack change to black & white, as each one turns around, the hand is coming down, and that Psycho music plays. (the chords from the shower scene). and previews for the next episode show

Jen asking Hope…….what if it costs Jack his life. The streets may be safer, but he’s not around to watch his daughter grow up

Bo to Roman…..There’s blood on this brick. I’ll make sure CSI gets it. (We can hear Maggie, sobbing, or panting heavily nearby)

Sami to Roman…..Sorry I lied, but Roman yells back, it’s not a big deal, Sami, cuz you do it all the time.just as Kate & Lucas (ugh, with the slicked down hair again) come in, with Kate asking what Sami has done now.

Summary: No side stories on today’s show…there is one order of business…the attack on Jack Deveraux. And is seems that NONE of the usual suspects have an alibi. Warning to all J&J fans…have the hanky nearby L

Act 1…Attack at Salem Place…
Roman startles Maggie and apologizes to her about the news leak about her, but she only wishes that she could be of help. She talks about all the suspects are either friends, children of friends or pillars of the community and finds it hard to believe one of them did it. Meanwhile, Jennifer is at the Java Café, waiting on Jack when Hope shows up. They sit and talk about Abby’s upcoming birthday and how Jack wants to go back to reporting and get out of the show. She talks about being worried but what a great morning they had and how they have discussed having another baby. Hope is excited for her as Jen talks about how much she loves Jack. Meanwhile, Bo walks up and startles John as he tells Bo not to sneak up on him like that. They talk about John setting himself up as a target. Jack takes a short cut through the alley and hears a noise just as someone in a black gloved hand whacks him in the back of the head with a brick and he crumples to the ground with blood running down his face. Maggie is in her cell phone talking to Mickey as she takes the same short cut. She sees blood on the ground and then sees Jack and begins to scream. Roman is the first on the scene as he orders a hysterical Maggie to call 911, which she does. At the same time, Jennifer has a sudden splitting headache and Hope offers her aspirin. John and Bo had just dropped by and chatted with them as Bo waited to pick up his lunch. On the way back to the station, he gets paged as he and John take off. Jen begins to worry about Jack as Hope talks about how she and Bo share a connection as well. In the distance you can hear the sirens and she fears the worst. John and Bo arrive and help Roman as Maggie goes to pieces. Jack stops breathing, but with CPR they bring him back. Meanwhile, Jen is trying to call Jack on his cell. Bo finds the phone and answers it. Confused, Jen hands the phone over to Hope, who gets the bad news. As the paramedics arrive, Bo finds the brick and takes it as evidence. We learn later that there are no prints on it. After they have taken Jack away, Bo, John and Roman decide that they need to question the suspects…John heads over to DiMansion…Bo to the Kiriakis Mansion and Roman to Basic Black.

Act 2..The Hospital…
At the hospital, Lexie is going over some files with a nurse as they get the call about the attack. He is wheeled in, followed by Jen, Hope and Maggie as Jen begs for Lexie’s help. Hope and Maggie try to comfort Jen and assure her that Jack will be okay. Lexie and the other doctors/nurses work on him as one of them mentions that he is an organ donor. Later in the lobby, Jennifer worries and blames herself for dragging Jack to Salem Place. She says if he were at the Spectator (as he wanted to be) he would be safe. Lexie comes out and tells them that Jack is alive but they will have to operate immediately. Maggie volunteers to go and get Abby as Lexie explains that Jack may have brain damage. She promises that they will do all they can, but Jennifer may be forced to make some difficult decisions.

Act 3…Rounding up the Suspects…
At the half-way point of the show, the suspects are introduced. John arrives at the DiMansion, just moments after Rex arrives. (Earlier, Rex came in, noticing he had mud on his shoes. Tony asks him about it and he talks about their trip to the island.) John tells them about the attack on Jack, to which they act like they don’t care. Tony asks if they are suspects as John wants to know where they were. Tony claims to have been at home all morning, but he has no witnesses for the staff is all off. Rex claims to have been at the library, but John asks where his books are. Tony chuckles and said that he probably memorized them. John asks Rex about the mud on his shoes and wants them as evidence. As they make light of it, John tells them both that he is taking them in and they leave.

Bo arrives at the Kiriakis mansion to find Victor sitting on the sofa. Victor begins to ask about Zack, but Bo informs him that it is not a social visit and wants to know where Victor has been this morning. He tells him about Jack as Victor claims to have been in the wine cellar. As he asks about Nicole, she comes strolling into the den (in different clothes than we last saw her) and she already knows about the attack. She claims she saw it on the news as she was on her treadmill. Bo finds it hard to believe that she was working out in that outfit and says that there is something weird going on there. He says it started the night of Colin’s murder and is still going on, but he vows to get to the bottom of it. He has a search warrant and tells them that he is searching the house, starting upstairs. Later, he tells them that he checked her treadmill and it had not been used today and that someone had been and out of the cellar door, the bolt had been recently oiled. He says that both of them are lying and that neither of them were there. He asks both of them to come with him.

Roman arrives at Basic Black looking for Kate, but learns from her secretary (Joelle) that she has been on a conference call all morning and is not to be disturbed. He barges on in to find her phone off the hook, but Kate is no where to be seen. He asks Joelle where Sami is, just as she strolls in, telling him that she has been working in the basement all morning doing filing. Relieved to hear that, he tells her about Jack, just as another guy walks in accusing Sami of goofing off. He says she was supposed to be helping him do the filing, but she has been gone all morning. Kate and Lucas walk in as Roman is reaming her out for lying. He then demands to know where they have been as he tells them about Jack. As Kate, Sami and Lucas all argue, Kate tells Roman that she and Lucas have been together. He drags her into her office, demanding to know WHERE they were. She tells him that they were at the park eating lunch – peanut sandwiches she brought from home – yea right! Well, Roman doesn’t believe her either and then decides to question Lucas to see if their stories jive. As he asks Lucas, Kate keeps trying to interrupt and answer for him. Roman demands to see Lucas’ parking stub and learns that he has only been there for 10 minutes and knows that they are lying. He orders them all to go with him and they all leave in a huff.

The Final Act…for Jack?
Back at the hospital, they give Jen Jack’s possessions and she finds his gift for her, it is a necklace with a heart locket. She opens it to find a picture of her, Jack and Abby with the glass covering it broken. Later, they take her back to see him before surgery (Lexie informs her that his brain activity is a 3 on a scale of 15) She sits by his bed and talks to him. This is heart-breaking as she talks about Abby and about him being a fighter and not giving up and loving him so much. She repeats their wedding vows and tells him it is NOT time for him to go. Through the tears, she puts the locket in his hand for strength as they come to get him. The nurse tells her that no jewelry is allowed in the operating room, so she tells him that she will hold onto it for him. She gives him one last kiss as he flatlines. The doctors and nurses rush in as Lexie leads her away and Jen breaks down crying. Later, Maggie is back with Abby who is demanding to see her dad as Jen tries to explain why she can’t. She wants to know what is going on as Jen hugs her and they cry together. Maggie leaves to go and sit with Alice as Bo comes in and tells Hope that they have rounded up the suspects and not one of them has an alibi. All 7 of the suspects are marched into the waiting room (now just how ridiculous is THAT?) one by one all wondering why they were brought there. We learn that they brought them there for blood/dna testing. Jennifer sees Sami and lights into her, then explodes at all of them, ranting and raving at them, saying she hopes the responsible one is happy…they got what they wanted. Lexie walks up behind her and tells Jennifer that they need to go somewhere to talk privately as Jennifer cries “No, no, Lexie…don’t say that” as it freezes on her tear-streaked face. Fade to black as the previews roll…

On the next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Bo tells Roman and John he is convinced that they are all lying and that he has Jack’s own words to prove it as he holds up a mini recorder…

Sami tells Rex that it’s too bad that Tony doesn’t know that he and Cassie aren’t DiMeras and that their real father is Roman Brady…

John asks Sami “Are you threatening me?…just like you threatened Abraham?”…

Abby screams at a teary Jennifer and Lexie “Mommy, you can’t…you can’t kill Daddy”…as it fades to black to the sound of a fading heartbeat…

And the credits roll…

Summary: Again, no side stories, the entire show is devoted to the departure of Jack Deveraux and the suspects involved. Thumbs for Missy Reeves and the little actress playing Abby (sorry, I don’t know her name) for gut-wrenching performances. And a huge thumbs up to Matthew Ashford for going out in STYLE…in a way that only HE could do it… typical Jack! Thanks for the memories, Matt!

At the hospital, the only doctor at University Hospital (Dr. Lexie) tells Jenn that she has news. She tells her that Jack is still alive, causing Jenn and the others to celebrate prematurely. There is a BUT that goes with it…he has had a massive stroke and slipped into a coma and believed to have brain damage. He is now on life support and it doesn’t look good. I can’t believe that she tells her this info in front of everyone, including the suspects. Jennifer and Abby cling to each other and cry. Later, Lexie gives them an update, there is no change, as Jenn begs her to help Jack. Lexie suggests that Abby go with one of the nurses, while she talks to Jenn privately. She explains that they did all they could for Jack, but he isn’t going to make it. Lexie tells Jenn that Jack had a living will and his request was that he not be kept alive artificially. Jenn wants to be with him so she and Abby leave as we get reactions from all the suspects gathered around. Bo tells Roman and John that Tek found Jack’s PDA and they are hoping for a lead from it.

Later, Hope informs Jenn that she called Harold and he is tracking down Jo and Vern as Jenn explains that when they passed the chapel, Abby wanted to go and say a prayer for her daddy. As Hope comforts her, Jenn is praying for a change, sure he will pull through. After Jenn goes in to see Jack, Lexie tells Hope that there is no change and that she knows from experience that this will be the saddest day of Jennifer’s life. She will need their love and support. Jennifer goes into see Jack and cries as she talks to him, asking who would do this.

Bo finds out (on Jack’s PDA) that he planned on confronting each of the suspects that morning, trying to flush out the killer. A rapid succession of question follows as John, Roman and Bo question each of the 7 suspects. We hear John ask “Yes or no…did you have a confrontation with Jack”…Bo asking “When was the last time you saw Jack?”…and Roman asking “Did you see Jack Deveraux earlier today?” Each of the suspects have flashbacks of seeing Jack that morning with him telling each of them that he had proof they were the killer. Also in succession, we see each suspect denying that they had talked to Jack that morning. After coming up empty, the guys decide to keep at it, hoping one of them will crack. So they continue with the questions, asking when was the last time they saw Jack, where they were at the time of the attack, etc. Each of them cover their own butts, then each of them has a flashback of arguing with Jack and making threats toward him (as we see a gloved hand with the brick and the attack spliced in between each of the suspects’ flashbacks). Back to the present, each of them claim to be innocent, but John, Roman and Bo think that all of them are lying.

Meanwhile, Jenn is by Jack’s bedside as Lexie joins her, but Lexie has no good news, telling Jenn that Jack is brain dead as Jenn breaks down clinging to Jack. Later, in the lobby, Lexie tells Jenn that she needs to make an important decision, explaining the issue of Jack being an organ donor and that time is of the essence. (Many long time viewers say this is impossible, being that Jack is a cancer survivor). Jennifer can’t bring herself to make that decision. As Hope comforts her, Abby walks up and overhears them, yelling that she can’t kill her daddy.

John, Roman and Bo talk as the suspects all mill around. Sami overhears Tony and Rex talking, then after Tony walks off, takes the opportunity to needle Rex about not being a DiMera. Roman and Tony argue as Tony suggests that Kate or Sami may be guilty and Roman is just trying to cover for them and pin this on a DiMera, as always. Sami tells Rex that he is a psycho and maybe he is the bad seed of the Brady clan. Roman overhears and questions her about it, but she wiggles her way out. Tony warns her to stay away from Tony and Rex…being she is in enough trouble as it is. As Sami is helping herself to some coffee from the bottomless University coffee pot, Lexie comes out and they get into an argument, leading to a physical confrontation. (Lexie told her she wanted to see her on death row again and that she would even volunteer as the doctor/executioner that administers the lethal injection.) They have to be separated by John and Bo. As Bo takes Lexie for a walk, John tries to reason with Sami and she ends up threatening him. He asks her if she is threatening him like she did Abraham and she storms off. Nicole and Victor whisper about how Jack’s death would be a good thing for both of them.

Abby begs her mother not to let her daddy die as Jenn tries to explain, but Abby just doesn’t understand about him being an organ donor. But Abby doesn’t want her daddy to die so that someone else can live. Jenn tells her that Alice would say that it’s God’s plan and that they should accept it and respect it but Abby runs off. Jenn tells Hope that she just can’t do it but knows the one person who can help her and returns to Jack. As she talks to him, he answers her, but it is his ghost standing behind her (she can’t hear/see him).

John and Roman then talk to a belligerent Tony and Rex, who are ready to leave. Bo then announces that the forensics lab is ready and marches everyone off to be tested. On the way out, Lucas snipes at Sami about switching the tests. In his room, Jack tells Jenn that it’s okay, she can do it and that he trusts her. She says that she can’t let him go and kisses him. His spirit walks up behind her and she gets a strange feeling come over her, feeling his presence and calling his name. She pulls out the locket he had bought and says that he will always be with them, in their hearts and now realizes that this is what he would want. She says that she can feel his love and that it will never die, like Alice & Tom’s. She promises to carry that love forever, in to eternity and that one day they WILL see each other again. With that, she says “Goodbye Jack Deveraux…sleep well” and kisses him, tears flowing freely. Later, we see her signing the papers to remove the life support. In the are Jennifer, Abby, Lexie, Hope, Bo, Roman and John. All 7 of the suspects are in the lobby watching through the glass (yea, right…sure!) all with guilty looking faces. Abby cries for them not to do this as John, Bo and Roman eye the suspects. Roman thinks to himself that “one of these people is a killer”. Jenn nods to Lexie as she turns off the life support and Jack flatlines. We see Jack’s spirit rise from his body as Jennifer and Abby cry and cling to his dead body. He touches each of them on the cheek, then turns and looking directly in to the camera, he winks and then fades. Fade to black…

On the next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…

Bonnie is at it once again, trying to convince Mimi to get pregnant…with Mimi telling her that she is twisted…

Shawn (with Belle sitting next to him) is telling Mimi that Rex is guilty of pre-meditated murder and if she is smart she will break up with that psycho before he tries to kill her too…

Jenn, still at the hospital, is telling everyone (I see Mickey and Maggie there now) that they need to find the one who killed Jack…the monster that killed her husband…As the credits roll…

Salem’s residents are still dealing with the aftermath of Jack’s death, while Caroline gets a big surprise, Maggie hears another verse to the children’s chant, and Jen gets some comfort in the chapel.

AT JAVA CAFÉ Belle & Shawn toast coffee cups to “the man of her dreams” & talk about Abe’s death. They apparently do not know about Jack yet (in spite of the fact all 4 were in the mall at the same time as everyone else when Jack was attacked……guess the sirens didn’t make an impact on them). Shawn once more goes into his tirade about Rex being the guilty party who attacked his parents & probably killed Abe. Mimi comes up with coffee pot (apparently she got the job there) as Belle scolds Shawn for accusing with no proof or evidence to support his claim. He gets a call, says they will be right there, and they leave, with Mimi saying her shift is over, she just has time to make her shift at the Brady Pub. Shawn is surprised she is working 2 jobs, but she claims her money is frozen at bank while they sort out the red tape, and she owes Belle rent, etc. She declines Shawn’s offer to have Uncle Mickey look into it.

OUTSIDE THE BRADY PUB, Bonnie stops a rushed Mimi, to give her a home pregnancy test. Meems is insulted, but Bonnie goes into her mantra about snagging the rich husband, and this is only way to hold onto him, etc. Mimi is disgusted and throws it in the trash. Next Bonnie tries to get money from Mimi for her brother’s science project, but Mimi already had given him some, is onto her mom, and tells her she won’t get another dime from her ever again, after stealing all her other money. As she goes into the pub, Bonnie says to herself, Wanna bet? (what a piece of work, egads!)
Inside the pub, Shawn D. gets a protesting Caroline, who is baking pies, to come sit at a table, she is blindfolded…..and TaDa…..we hear a voice warbling..”When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”. Yes, tis himself, back from Ireland. Caroline tears off the blindfold, they hug and she is so happy. (He’s wearing a great Kelly green hat). Caroline tells him lots of terrible things have happened, but he had heard about Abe. Someone mentions Victor being a suspect, Caroline pooh poohs that idea, and Shawn is not happy about that. He brings out pictures, everyone comments on a few. Bonnie comes in, greets both Shawn & Caroline, then says she has a proposition for them. She wants them to turn the place into a country-western bar, she will book bands, is a songwriter herself, blah, blah, but Mimi drags her away.

Maggie comes in, looking very upset. When the scene returns, she has told everyone about Jack’s death, & all are shocked. Mimi brings her takeout food, Maggie refuses offers to drive her home, and leaves. Outside the Pub, 2 kids are jumping rope to a little rhyme, when suddenly Maggie hears the children’s chanting voices of before….(& why those 2 kids don’t hear is beyond me)…..& this time the voices say, Salem stalker took a gun, and gave Abe Carver a deadly one

Soon Maggie Horton will be there, too
Maggie screams, everyone comes running out of the Pub. She is clearly upset, the cop who is watching her comes up, but Maggie insists on going over to Jen’s…..the family is waiting for her, and she leaves. Bonnie once more gives Mimi her “motherly advice”, but Mimi wants no part of it.

AT THE CRIME SCENE Bo & Hope talk of the case, & how they might still be targets themselves. The alley is cordoned off, and suddenly they hear what sounds like a gun shot. Hope throws herself on Bo, both go down, & he gets momentarily knocked out, but quickly comes to. (Didn’t these two just have their heads bashed in not long ago?) Bo says it was an old jalopy that backfired, and tho Hope is reassured, she still is worried about them being targets.

AT THE HOSPITAL Jen, Abby & Hope are in Jack’s room, his body covered with a sheet. Bo comes in, updating Hope about John & Roman taking the suspects to the lab for testing. Jen lays her head on Jack, asking who would do this terrible thing to you, and Abby begins yelling at her that she did, her dad wasn’t dead til Jen pulled the plug, and she will never forgive her. Jen tries to explain, but Abby goes on a big rant, then runs out. Hope goes after her, as Bo consoles Jen. An orderly comes in, saying they have transplant patients waiting, and they have to take the body now. (hmm, & he is no longer hooked up to any sort of machines to keep the organs viable). Jen nods her head, then goes and talks to Jack a few minutes, then, as orderlies come in, Bo takes her out. Mickey & Maggie arrive. Jen says she has to get hold of Jo & Vern and her mom. Mickey offers to do so, but Jen says, no, it is her job. Hope comes back, having gotten Abby to talk to a counselor. She & Bo leave. Jen says she had already talked to her dad in Africa and to Mike, and now has to call and update them.
Jen returns, having talked to Jack’s sister (Adrienne, tho they do not mention her name), and was finally able to reach Jo & Vern, who are on an upstate fall color tour. Jen says she feels so bad for Jo, as she already lost one son, Maggie says, yes…..Steve (Am so glad that all these family members are remembered, and their names brought up…..about time). Jen says she will have to contact a funeral home, and make arrangements, breaking down a bit, as Maggie comforts her. They talk of the killer, and Maggie wishes she could remember more than the evil eyes. Mickey comes back from talking to Alice, who will be waiting at Jen’s house. Maggie goes to get some food at the Pub (see above), while Mickey stays with Jen.

Jennifer goes to the chapel to pray. A woman comes in, obviously distraught, & Jen asks her if there is anything she can do. The woman says her husband is in surgery now, he had been waiting a long time for a heart transplant, and a man who had just died was an organ donor. In fact had donated a lot of his organs. She says the man was a hero, and Jen replies that yes he was. The look on Jen’s face says it all, as the woman realizes it was Jen’s husband. A little girl rushes in, telling her mom he is alive, it worked, they have a miracle. Her daddy is gonna live. They leave, Jen kneels down, and says a simple “thank you”. As she goes to leave, an orderly brings her an envelope with Jack’s personal effects. Abby comes in, yelling once more at her mother, that she will never forgive her and tho Mickey tries to reason with her, she runs off. Jennifer holds the envelope close to her chest, as the scene just fades to black. And on the next show……..

Cassie tells Rex that Nicole Kiriakis in on to him

Roman asks Sami what it is that he understood, and she replies, the truth, which is why I have to confess

Nicole tells Victor she thinks it is time they tell Brady the truth, as Brady looks on

Philip tells Brady that he has fallen in love with his father’s wife, just as “you did my girlfriend, Chloe, you S.O.B.” & lands a right hook to Brady’s jaw.

KIRIAKIS MANSION
Brady learns about Jack's murder while watching the tv news. They show Victor and Nicole leaving the cop shop after questioning. Timing is everything as they arrive home five seconds later. Brady demands answers in his usual subtle manner. Victor tells him it's none of his business, but Brady doesn't accept that, remembering how Jack, like Abe, was digging into their lives. Nicole starts to trash IN THE HOUSE for being a dumb show (LOL, she's being reading the internet boards apparently) and asks if she's being insensitive when Brady tells her to knock it off. She asks Victor (aka honey) if they shouldn't tell Brady the truth. Victor denies guilt. Brady proceeds to interrogate them about why they stay married (Victor says he couldn't live w/o his sweet Nicole and sleeps in a separate room as he sleeps better that way. He locks her in her room to protect her from herself.) Brady questions the wire tap so close to Jack and Abe's murders. Victor finally loses patience and demands the interrogation STOP. Brady apologizes, saying he just cares for them and was concerned. Victor leaves, saying no hard feelings and they all just want it over with. Nicole offers Brady a drink, but he nods no and goes to leave. She stops him and thanks him for caring and trying to protect her. She whines about giving up her 6 figure salary for the munster's coffin and she's afraid to go against Victor. She tells him about how he stopped the plane she was on and drug her off. Victor calls her and she rushes off for her flogging, giving Brady a kiss on the cheek before doing so. Brady knows they're hiding something and determined to find out what. Later Victor joins Nicole and tells her they're going to Salem Place to look happy and innocent, hoping Brady will be there especially. Hiding only makes them look more guilty. He lets her know he saw her kiss on the cheek to Brady and threatens her she'll be the 3rd victim in Salem if she touches his grandson again. She realizes he can see everything going on in their house.

SALEM PLACE
As Philip sips his coffee at Java Cafe he reads the paper with the 7 suspects faces on the front page (wouldn't that be grounds for a lawsuit). Cassie joins him and we learn he's been on training maneuvers with the base (no more cushy ISA job, LOL). He asks what she knows about what's happening, if Rex told her anything. She remembers asking Rex if he killed Abe, but denies doing so, sure of his innocence. She tells him about her peep show for Shawn when she pulled up her top after the waitress told her no more of that or she's outta there. Philip of course thought it was cool, but not surprised at Shawn's reaction. He shows her the Spectator's front page with the suspects. He can't believe his parents and brother could do such a thing. They discuss Nicole and Sami, both not believing them capable. He said it leaves only one other person and she can't believe Rex would do it and storms off. Brady joins him chuckling, asking why Cassie left as she did and Philip asks if he think Nicole capable of murder. Philip calls Nicole an opportunistic slut who probably killed Colin and Abe and Jack found out. He accuses Brady of falling in love with his father's wife just like he did his girlfriend Chloe and punches him in the face. Brady tells Philip he'll be sorry he did that.

GUYS LOFT
Rex returns home with another headache. Mimi waits for him inside (short shift at the pub?) remembering her mother's advice about getting pregnant, thinking maybe she's right. Rex walks in asking what the hell's she doing there (yup, Roman's kid alright). She heard about his being a suspect and was worried. She goes to leave to study after seeing his mood, but he tells her she's not going anywhere and grabs her. She calls him on it and he drops his grip saying he wants to make love with her (not sex) saying he needs her. Afterward we see them on the couch and Cassie knocks on the door. Mimi wraps a blanket around herself and rushes out of the room as Rex throws his pants on to answer the door. She tells him he's got trouble as she walks in, saying Philip is on to him. She asks for the truth, she's his twin and will know if he's lying. He confesses not remembering anything and that's the problem.

COP SHOP
Roman is still questioning Kate, Lucas and Sami together. (So much for questioning separately and comparing stories?) Sami admits saying that Jack was the only person besides Brandon that understood her, and has to confess. Lucas takes off on that, saying he knew it, but Sami only confesses to having evidence to show who the killer was. Sami brings up Abe's knowing the truth about Kate's past, which Kate said is to push suspicion off herself onto Kate. Roman said it already had as Kate gulps. Sami has a little tissy fit when Roman doesn't let her off the suspect list and he throws her and Lucas out, demanding Kate stay and talk about their future. He still loves her with all his heart, but asks she open up to him about what Abe knew. She breaks down, afraid she'll lose him forever if she tells him. He kisses her to convince her not to worry. He wants to have a happy future with he
