Episode #9637
Tape date –various
Director - Herb Stein
Tempers flare all over Salem, as Mimi & her mom, Shawn & Rex, Jack &Jen, all have issues with each other, while Celeste’s visit to Tony takes her aback.
Jack & Jennifer are still having coffee at the Java Café (good to see Salem Place being used again) as Jack gets info on his cell phone about the death of Abe’s informant. He tells Jen the guy was shot once, close range, execution style and talks of getting into it more. Jen is having fits, worrying about his safety. Mickey comes up, wanting to talk to Jack, who babbles some sort of excuse that it concerns a legality in the course of his investigation. Lexie arrives, the guys leave, the gals talk. Lexie wants advice on a good photographer for the Christening, then tells Jen that Abe wants to have another baby, a girl, and they will begin to try soon. She asks Jen if she & Jack have thought of having another child, and Jen says she thinks Jack would probably want a son. They talk of husbands wanting sons to carry on their legacy (this talk makes me too sad for words). Lexie brings up her brother, that people don’t trust him, wanting to investigate him, but no one has ever found him ever doing anything wrong. Jennifer agrees that is true.
Earlier, at the Carvers, Mickey leaves, promising Abe he will get to work on the will right away. Lexie comes in with the tray of lemonade, surprised Mickey is gone, & asks what they talked about. Abe dodges that by saying just some legalities involved with early pension. She leaves to get some things done for the Christening, the phone rings, and Abe tells the caller to come over.
Later, Jack arrives at Abe’s just as he has to go take a call. Jack takes the opportunity to pry into the files in Abe’s laptop (Jeez, Jack…..this is your friend here) looking for info on Tony DiMera. Abe hurries out, stopping him, saying that is police work, and he IS a reporter, no matter if they are cooperating together. They argue a bit, but then Jack tells Abe how he considers him a role model, responsibility towards job, family. They talk of husbands always protecting their families, first and foremost priority.
Mimi arrives home (dressed in black) and opens the door, coughing as she enters the smoke filled room, country music blaring, as Bonnie comes dancing out of the kitchen, smoking, singing, and dressed in a sheer red blouse, with a black bra under it and dark blue shorts. (Rolling eyes here). She tells Meems she wants to meet Richie Rich Rex, and Mimi says no way. She complains of the roof leaking in her bedroom, and wants Mimi to get a couple grand from her rich boyfriend. Mimi doesn’t date Rex for his money and is becoming more and more frustrated. Why isn’t mom wearing her nicotine patch to help quit. Bonnie says it doesn’t work. Bonnie goes on a rant, saying how when Dave (Mimi’s dad) left her for the 4th time she felt so FREE. She could now be Bonnie again. Bonnie. Her real name, the name she always used. She moans at how David insisted on calling her by her middle name, Maureen. (looks like someone paid attention to all the viewers..whether on the message boards or by snail mail… who commented on the change in names for Mimi’s mother……kudos!) But now she is Bonnie again. She complains how cleaning rich people’s homes doesn’t bring in enough money for repairs, hinting that Mimi’s friends should do it. Mimi reminds her that her friends built the house originally. They argue about Bonnie’s gambling, trip to Vegas when she claims no money for house repairs, lottery tickets, etc. A big noise in the kitchen, Bonnie looks, and says trouble with the stove again. Mimi says she gave her money to fix the stove, Bonnie claims the guy couldn’t come. Mimi will call in the morning. They argue more about money, and Mimi leaves. Bonnie pulls a wad of money from her bra, smiling.
Belle breaks up the fight between Rex & Shawn in their loft apartment, and takes Shawn over to her place to cool off. He calls the landlord, and learns how Rex managed to get the other half from Ryan. He is furious, but Belle says he probably just wants to live next door to his girlfriend, just like Shawn does. Shawn suggests Mimi move in with Rex and he with Belle, but she nixes that idea, saying they have a hard enough time with their purity vows living apart. He agrees, and figures maybe he can find out what Rex is up to by living with him. Mimi walks in, hearing this, and argues with Shawn. (Mimi is wearing black, Belle is in red). He tells her she has to admit Rex is so secretive, and is up to something. Mimi defends him, then leaves, going to see Rex. She questions him as to his motives, but he claims only wanting to be near her. They kiss. She wants peace, and Rex says he will try. She gives him a key to her apt. so he can come over any time he wants. She leaves, Rex picks up a picture of Belle & Shawn, saying the way to get at Shawn would be thru his girlfriend. Over at Belle’s, Shawn gets a call from Uncle Mickey, has to leave. Mimi comes back in, but Shawn has to rush out. Belle is going to take a shower, but tells Mimi that her rent check bounced. Mimi is shocked, plenty of money in account (uh, oh!) and promises to check with the bank. She leaves & Belle goes to shower.
Celeste arrives at Tony’s and immediately feels something bad has happened. Tony says there was a death in the family…but then comments he only means it feels like it, because Rex moved out. Celeste knows Tony loves his sister, and he claims he’s do anything for her. Celeste asks him to promise never to harm Abe. They argue, as Celeste brings up Stefano never wanting Lexie to marry Abe, and that perhaps Tony would be following that line of thinking. Tony angrily says he is not Stefano, and that Stefano is dead. Mabel, the maid comes in to dust, and as she feather dusts the front of the fireplace, the urn on the mantle begins to shake and then topples over onto the floor. (Gee, just like the EE said last April Fool’s Day). Ashes spill, and Celeste gets a worried look. She kneels and says she doesn’t feel Stefano’s presence in the ashes. He is not there at all. She shivers as she touches the urn. The maid apologizes and gets a whisk broom and pan to clean up. Tony says he will do it, asking Celeste to leave so he can spend some time with his father (Oh, puleeze!). She leaves, Tony begins to sweep up the ashes, and starts laughing.
Now a series of scenes, that come one after the other. Mimi is at an ATM machine, shocked as it tells her ALL her accounts are empty, checking, savings….and she says she has been robbed.
Bonnie enters her home with a huge fistful of lottery tickets, kissing them as she gleefully exclaims one will be her pot of gold…..thanks to Mimi
Belle, soaking wet, with aqua towel wrapped around her, begins to brush her wet hair, as the towel slips off. She bends to pick it up and a sandled foot steps on it. She screams as she looks up to see Rex staring. (he has the most creepy look on his face)
Shawn arrives at Abe’s and is happy to find Jack there, as he has both their wills. Ooops, both Jen & Lexie walk in, hearing this, and wanting to know WHAT wills.
Outside DiMansion, Celeste murmurs to herself that it was so strange about the urn, and her not feeling Stefano there. She says aloud, Oh, God, could the Phoenix have risen again?
Inside the mansion, Tony puts the urn back up on the mantle, as the phone rings. He answers, saying he was “expecting your call. Don’t worry, father, I know exactly what to do”. AND THE PREVIEWS SHOW
Mimi confronting her mother about taking all her money, and demanding whatever is left, wherever she stashed it. Bonnie says she invested it.
Abe telling Jack if he wants out of the investigation, that’s o.k., but Jack says, No, he wants to be there when Tony DiMera goes down.
Tony is on the phone saying, Don’t worry, by the time the good people of Salem find out Stefano DiMera is alive, it’ll be too late.

Episode #9636
Tape date – various
Director – Roger Inman
Summary: It’s a new day in Salem as Sami’s first day at work is quite eventful…Shawn learns who his new roommate is and is NOT a happy camper…Jennifer continues to worry over Jack’s well-being, as a shadowy figure watches them…Abe decides it is time to update his will.
(Side Note: I know I’m probably making too much over this, but the strange use of color continues on this show: Kate and Sami are dressed in all BLACK…Lexie has on a BLACK and WHITE dress…Abe and Belle are dressed in RED (Parts of Jennifer’s dress and sash are RED)…Tony and Caroline are both decked out in all WHITE. Odd that the rest of the cast are in shades of GREY…Mickey, John, Roman, Shawn and Jack (who does have on an ominous dark RED tie). Even the flowers that Tony brings Sami are, you guessed it, RED and WHITE). WHERE are all the blues, greens and yellows??? Now that I am paying closer attention to the colors, it is really giving me the creeps!)
At DiMansion…
Rex is carrying his things downstairs to the foyer mumbling about moving in with Shawn. Tony walks in and asks what is going on as Rex explains that he is moving in with Shawn. Tony doesn’t understand and asks what Rex is trying to hide. Rex gets very agitated as Tony questions him, noting that he and Shawn don’t even get along. Rex tells him that he learned (from Tony) to keep your friends close and your enemies closer and leaves.
At the Loft…
Shawn drops in on Belle, who is making blueberry muffins for breakfast (sure hope she didn’t get her culinary skills from her mother ;-) He is impressed as he munches down on one. Later he is in his apartment and goes over to Belle’s for some clothes hangers (She has left for work). While he is gone, Rex is moving his things in and they keep missing each other. But Shawn keeps noticing boxes appearing and wonders WHAT is going on. Rex comes in and informs him that he is moving in. Shawn gets terribly upset and says NO WAY in hell is he living with him. They argue and it escalates into a fistfight. Belle comes in, yelling “NO!”
At the Java Cave
Jennifer is still worried over Alice’s condition as well as about Jack. She pleads with him to give up this investigation but he refuses. Mickey comes by as Jennifer’s cell rings. As she is on the phone talking to Abby (who wants to spend the night with a friend) Mickey and Jack talk about Jack’s will. While all this is going on, we see a shadow lurking in the bushes with some creepy music playing. Mickey is concerned that Jack may feel that he is in danger, but Jack assures him that he is fine. When Jen gets off the phone and asks what they are talking about, Jack quickly covers and asks about Abby. Jen gets back on the subject of worrying about Jack, talking about how the world just doesn’t seem safe anymore and how worried she is about him. She asks what would she do if anything ever happened to him. Jokingly, Jack says that he knows she would remarry quickly. But Jen isn’t laughing about it. He apologizes and tries to justify what he is doing. He promises her that he will be careful and an emotional Jennifer jumps up and runs over and hugs him.
At Basic Black…
Sami arrives (late) to work and rushes in to find a phone ringing off the hook. She battles the cockroaches and dust as Caroline and Roman drop by to visit. Both are a bit appalled at her surroundings. Both are bearing gifts…Caroline with a potted plant and Roman with a gift-wrapped box. As the talk, Sami continues to stomp at the roaches (LOL) and vows that this is temporary and will work her way up. Caroline says they are all so proud of her as Sami apologizes for her behavior at the dress shop the day before. She opens Roman’s gift (a briefcase) and notes that it is just like Kates (she sarcastically says “we can be twins”…LOL). Roman makes her promise to behave and they leave. Sami begins to second guess her plans for revenge. Later, Tony drops by with a bouquet of flowers and is appalled at her work area. He sympathizes with her and feeds her frustrations. She says that she feels like the wicked step sister, but he calls her Cinderella awaiting her prince. She says that John and Kate are determined to make her suffer and he promises to intervene with John on her behalf. He tells a grateful Sami that he won’t let anyone hurt her and will look out for her.
Upstairs, Kate and John discussing work as she complains about Sami. John talks about how well Belle has been doing and suggest that they work together. Kate isn’t sure about it but John thinks it may help Sami by being fed a little humble pie (working under her YOUNGER sister). Belle comes in, showing them some of her new sketches (they are impressed) as Roman and Caroline drop in and voice their concern over her working conditions. John and Kate explain/defend their actions and Roman seems to go along with it. After Caroline leaves, Tony and a (worked up) Sami come in as she rants at them about being in the dungeon. Belle takes Sami to HER office (Sami thinks to gloat) and Sami is so jealous of it. Sami says that she can see that SHE has no future here, but Belle suggests that they work together and pool their talents. Belle leaves and Roman comes in offering to take Sami to lunch, but she declines. After he leaves, Tony comes in and admires Belle’s office (he is such an ass in this show). He encourages her insecurities, assuring her that HE is her only friend. Roman goes to tell Kate bye and as they discuss Sami, Kate tells him that people are probably expecting her to say things like she hates Sami and wants to make her life a living hell but that is not the truth. For his sake, she is going to try to get along. Mainly because she fears her retaliation. Of course Sami walks by and only hears the bad part and goes storming off. She then goes by John’s office and eavesdrops as she overhears Tony asking John about buying stock in Basic Black. Tony spots her and really plays it up for her benefit. He goes on and on about how he is worried about her. But John says something about Sami not being trusted and how she is going to have to work her butt off to prove herself. He says that he will NOT give her a job with any power, for she will abuse it. She storms off to her basement office in a huff. As John tells Kate and Roman about what Tony wanted (and how he does NOT want him as a business partner) Tony rushes down to Sami. She is furious and vows to bring down John and Kate.
At the Carver House…
Abe is reading the paper as he remembers the night before, hearing his name and seeing Tom’s image. Lexie comes down as they talk about how he didn’t sleep well and how Alice and Celeste have rattled him. (He has NOT told her about the vision). Lexie talks about Alice’s strong connection to Tom and how she can’t imagine her life without Abe. She says that they will always be connected as well. Lexie notices that he is acting strange and asks what is wrong, but he won’t say. She asks when he is going to be retiring and he says soon. They talk about how much they love each other and how blessed they are. While she is gone to check on Theo, Abe calls Mickey and asks him to come by. Later, Mickey comes over as Lexie asks about Alice (he says that she and Maggie are baking cookies). She tells him about Abe’s plans to retire and how happy she is. As she goes to get them lemonade, Abe tells him about wanting to update his will, being concerned about his family. Mickey can see something is wrong and Abe cracks and tells him about what happened at Alice’s. Abe feels that Tom is warning him and thinks that maybe he should prepare himself and his family for the end…for his death…as the previews roll…
On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…
Jack and Jennifer are arguing about Jack’s involvement with the case…
Rex says that nothing would hurt Shawn more than losing his precious girlfriend (as he looks at a picture of Belle)…
Shawn is yelling at Mimi that Rex is up to no good and that she had better watch out. She tells him not to tell her what to do…
Celeste is kneeling in the floor by Stefano’s overturned urn. Tony asks her what is wrong and she says that she doesn’t sense his father in these ashes…
And the credits roll…

Episode #9635
Tape date – various
Director – Albert Alarr
Bo & Hope have a scare, Alice continues to have visions that disturb family members (and us viewers), while Mimi’s mom tries to convince her not to move out.
MIMI IS SITTING at the table, trying to decide on what courses she will take this semester (so much for aging the teens, they are all still in school) and comments on the Psych course she should take to help her in dating Rex. LOL. She yells for her mom to turn down the radio, and in comes Bonnie Lockhart, dressed in the kind of uniform that hotel cleaning help wears. She is smoking like a chimney (Welcome back, Judi Evans!), mentions that she cleans houses for a buck, but can’t seem to get at her own. Meems tells her if she quit smoking that would clean the air. (so true!) Bonnie puts out the cigarette, and gets into a discussion trying to get Mimi to stay and not move out. She offers to make her a TV dinner, but Mimi says she eats healthy now. She talks of hitting it big with the lottery, and buys tickets all the time, cuz someone has to win, right? Mimi eventually leaves, making her mom promise not to start smoking again, which Bonnie does. The minute the door closes, she hunts up another pack, quickly lights up, and tells herself she is SUCH a liar!
SHAWN & BELLE are kissing, as they talk of him moving into the loft across the way tonight. In another scene, Rex is on the phone with someone ordering that person to get the job done. Later, Rex is talking in person with the man (never see his face) again wanting things taken care of TONIGHT! Mimi strolls in, unhappy that Rex lives so far away from where she is, & they hug. Rex gets a phone call, assuring him that everything has been taken care of and Shawn Brady is no problem. Rex tells Meems that he may be closer to her than she thinks.
ABE & LEXIE are basking in the afterglow, in bed. She is happy he is retiring, and wishes it was right now. She wants him to call the office and let them know. He says there is paperwork up the wazoo to deal with, and also that he wants to clear up his caseload before he leaves. Being the Commander, it would not look well for him to just leave. She asks what he is working on, and he says the Colin Murphy murder, Lexie nods her head. And whoever attacked Bo & Hope. Lexie gets upset at that, not wanting him to get involved in that.
AT THE BRADY HOME Hope opens an envelope, gets upset, goes upstairs to where Bo is sitting on the bed, watching Zack play on the floor. She shows the paper to Bo, who just says, so we have a cash flow problem. We will get thru it. (obviously a bill of some kind). They say Shawns tuition, plus room and board is all paid for this semester, and that soon Bo will be bringing in a paycheck from his security job. (BTW, both are sans the head gear now, and you cannot even tell where their heads were shaved, LOLOL, said with tongue in cheek). They talk again of their money probs, but Bo pulls out his hidden stash he was saving so Hope could buy the winter coat she wanted…..and she pulls out the money she was saving so he could get the cowboy boots he wanted. (Ah, the Gift of the Magi again…..lol). Both decide that she doesn’t need a designer label on her coat, and he doesn’t need the same boots that Tim McGraw wears, so they reduce the amounts, put the extra away for essentials.
They hear a noise like glass breaking, and the lights go out. Hope grabs Zack, Bo goes down to investigate. Suddenly the lights go back on. He hears whispering voices in the kitchen, bursts in to find Shawn & Belle at the frig. (We never do get an explanation for why the entire house went dark). Bo scolds Shawn for scaring his parents, Shawn says he came to get the truck, and a mattress from the basement. He finally tells them he is not staying at the dorm, but rented the loft across from Belle, has a roommate, etc. B&H are not happy at all, seedy neighborhood, not safe, etc. Shawn assures them that John would not let Belle live there if not o.k. He talks of money saved from job w/Uncle Mickey over the summer, refund on the room & board at dorm, etc. Belle leaves the room, and they all talk it out, finally agreeing. Hope leaves, & Bo has a heart to heart w/Shawn, ending up giving him his boots money for groceries, dates, etc. Shawn has explained about thinking Rex had something to do with the attack on his parents, while in the other room, Belle is filling Hope in on the same information. Hope comes in, Bo & Belle take boxes to the car. Now it is Hope’s turn to gift Shawn with her coat money. The kids leave, Bo & Hope compare notes, laughing as they both realize Shawn really made out.
A REPLAY OF ALICE SEEING TOM’S IMAGE while a concerned Jack & Jennifer go check the key in the lock. Alice believes Tom is trying to tell her something. When Jack & Jennifer return, she inists she is not senile or crazy, that she has not moved Tom’s picture, etc. Jack & Jen talk privately, with Jack commenting on Alice getting up in years, living in the big old house alone, missing her husband. Jennifer thinks perhaps Gran should move in with them, but Alice, overhearing, says absolutely not. Jen calls Uncle Mickey, and he rushes over with Maggie. All are worried, as Alice now sees Tom across the room, and wonders why they all cannot see him. She asks Tom what he is trying to tell her. Now they call Lexie, who rushes over with Abe. Alice asks Lexie if her mother ever told her about the spirit of the dead visiting the living. And the name the spirit says is doomed. She says she keeps waiting for Tom to say her name, but he doesn’t. Lexie asks for permission to examine Alice, who agrees. Abe says he has to call the station, and goes into the other room. He picks up the phone to dial, hears his name, turns, and sees Tom. And the previews for tomorrow show
Shawn asking Rex why he is putting his stuff down here, with Rex replying that he is moving in, & Shawn yelling that no way in hell am I living with you.
Sami telling Tony he is such a good friend, as she hugs him and he assures her she is not to worry, he will look out for her
Abe telling Mickey that he had a vision of his father, and maybe he should start preparing himself for his death

The strange happenings in Salem continue, as well as lots of strange foreshadowing. Alice is visited by Tom…Abe announces he is retiring from the force…Sami continues to plot and scheme…Celeste does a shocking Tarot card reading…Jennifer continues to worry about Jack’s safety. (SIDE NOTE: Play close attention to the use of the colors red, white and black in this episode. It kinda gave me the creeps and reminded me a LOT of the way the color red was used in the movie, The Sixth Sense. Was it merely by accident or intentional?…You be the judge.)
At the Deveraux House…
Jennifer is pacing the floor waiting for Jack to get home. He comes in and she is all over him like white on rice. She is angry at him and he rushes out the door, saying he will be right back. Later, he comes in the back way with a bouquet of (RED) flowers that he pulled from the ground (roots still hanging below) wishing her a happy anniversary. He then tries “happy birthday” (LOL). She is furious with him as well because he plucked those flowers out of her garden. She explains that she was upset and angry because of the murder at Salem Place earlier and the fact that she didn’t know where he was, nor did he call her. She warns him that this investigation is too dangerous and she worries about him, saying that she and Abby need him too much. He begins to kiss her and leads her to the sofa. He assures her that nothing will happen to him and that they will grow old and wrinkly together and play with their grandchildren. He makes light of her worrying as they kiss. The phone rings as Jack answers it to find a frightened Alice asking them to come over, so they rush out the door.
Meanwhile, Alice is at home alone and continues to hear the children’s voices outside. She hears them chanting the ‘Lizzie Borden’ song as her lights begin to flicker on and off. She says “Stop it, STOP IT!” After she makes her call, Jack and Jennifer rush over to check on her. She assures them that she is okay but they can see that she is shaken and she tells them about the hearing the children’s voices from outside. Jack checks the window and notes that it is too late for children to still be up. She tells them about the Lizzie Borden chants which freaks Jen. She also tells them that Tom’s picture has been moving from place to place. They try to offer explanations, but Alice assures them that she is not going senile and is NOT crazy. Jack asks Jen to help him with the key in the door (he wants to talk to her alone) but Alice is no fool and knows they are talking about her. While they are gone, Tom’s face appears on the wall. She asks him if he is trying to warn her…is something terrible going to happen?
At Basic Black…
A frazzled Sami (in her RED dress) bitches and mutters to herself as she works in her dingy basement office. She is talking about getting her parents back together and says she is the one that can make it happen. She again daydreams again about beheading Kate and John, saying that death is too good for them. (In her daydream, she has on a RED dress, with John, Kate, Marlena, and Roman all dressed in BLACK). Sin real time, she blames Kate and Roman for her miserable life and wants them to suffer.
John and Marlena (both dressed in BLACK) are finishing up their dinner as an excited Marlena is on the phone with Eric talking about her visit. When she finishes, she is so excited and needs to head home to pack. They talk about Sami being at work and Marlena is confused, but thrilled that Sami is so eager to get started on her new job. She thanks John for his help and is sure that Sami will work hard. John cautions her, warning her that it may not work out. She wonders why John is so negative and asks if he is wanting Sami to fail. He assures her that he hopes it will work out. Marlena wants to drop by the office and tell Sami goodbye on their way home.
They go by (with Marlena toting leftovers wrapped in a foil swan). Sami puts on her best face for them. Marlena comments that it is a bit dusty down there, but it reminds her of her college days and when she served as an intern. John says it was the only office space available. Sami vows to work hard and prove herself as Marlena forces her hand and practically makes her thank John for the job. Sami says that she has learned a whole new set of skills and plans on putting them to good use ;-) Marlena tells her about visiting Colorado and Sami sends her love to Eric and her grandparents. As they are leaving, John tells her not to stay too late as she has to be in tomorrow at 6 am to sort the mail and faxes. The sound of this doesn NOT thrill Sami. John goes to get the car as Marlena tells Sami goodbye and wishes her well with her job. After they leave, Sami continues to mutter and grumble about John’s days being numbered as she files papers. She notices a trash chute on the wall and begins to throw papers down it, enjoying herself in the process.
John and Marlena return home, talking about Sami’s second chance. Marlena says she needs to go and pack, but John stops her, kissing her. She confesses that she was a bit leery about leaving town, but after seeing Roman, Kate, Lexie, Abe and Sami all tonight, she feels better about it. She is sure that they will all be fine. They head upstairs as he picks her up to carry her.
At the Carver House…
Celeste (dressed in RED) is playing with her tarot cards as Abe and Lexie (in BLACK and RED respectively) return home. They notice that she is on edge and decide to tell her the good news about the Christening. She is thrilled and says that they need to do it ASAP and goes to call St. Lukes, wanting them to do it tomorrow. And while they are at it, she wants them to have the priest bless the house and them as well. They try to convince her that her premonitions could be wrong but she is sure they are not and that something bad is going to happen. Celeste becomes highly agitated and talks about the murdered informant, which rattles Lexie. She begins to worry that something terrible might happen to Abe. He informs her that he is thinking about taking an early retirement so he can spend time with her and Theo. Lexie is thrilled to death about that news, as is Celeste. They go upstairs to turn in and invite Celeste to stay the night in the guest room, which she gladly accepts. After they go upstairs, we see a shadow lurking around the windows. Upstairs, Abe and Lexie are changed for bed (he in RED pajamas, she in a WHITE gown). He promises to devote himself to her and Theo as they get into bed and start getting very romantic. Downstairs, Celeste returns to her tarot cards and begins a reading. She wonders if the danger is passing as she continues. She comments that the reading is going well…until she turns over the death card and gasps! Freeze frame on the death card…as it fades to black and the previews roll…
On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…
Jennifer asks Alice who she is talking to. Alice tells them that she was talking to her grandfather, of course…as we see a concerned Jennifer…
A shocked Abe asks Lexie if she is pregnant…
Shawn tells Belle that no one is going to keep him from investigating Rex…not even his folks…
Hope asks Bo what if the person who tried to get rid of them decides to finish the job. They hear a noise and the lights go out. Bo says “Oh NO” as we see crosshairs and hear a gun shot…

Episode#9633
Tape date – various
Director – Roger Inman
Surprises abound in Salem, as John plans a trip for Marlena, Shawn takes Belle to the heights, while Kate shows Sami the depths, and Lexie puts one over on Abe
IN THE LOFT, Shawn is removing the remaining drop cloths, as Belle & Mimi admire their freshly painted digs. (Find it amazing that with all those rollers, not one of them has a single paint spec on their person, hair, clothes –LOL). Must be really fast drying paint, as pictures & posters are up, etc. And no one complains of the smell. LOLOL. Shirtless Rex bumps into Shawn with a ladder, who immediately accuses him of trying to do away with the rest of the Bradys. The gals calms the guys down, noting that Philip & Cassie have left. Shawn talks of his new place across the hall, and how he wishes he did not have to have a roommate, but it helps with the expenses. ( And you have no idea, Shawn, of his name, huh? Shrewd move on your part, Mr. Spy Kid)
Shawn makes Belle close her eyes, as he takes her up to the roof, where he has prepared a surprise picnic. He says he got the idea from his dad, who recently did this for his mom, & calls himself a romantic plagiarist. He tells her that Uncle Mickey & Aunt Maggie used to go up to the roof of their lst apt. bldg, calling it Tar Beach. Belle is delighted, & as they lay on the blanket, takes off her shirt, revealing her bikini. She says she had planned on sunning herself earlier, but the painting took too long. (O, GMAB Belle. Painting that whole place would have taken all day, anyone would have known that, especially if you watch Trading Spaces, etc.) She makes Shawn strip down to his shorts, and they lay, admiring the stars. Later they find initials carved in the door, B&H forever….. for Bo & Hope, then J & I for John & Isabella, even P & K for Patch & Kayla(be still, my heart!), plus B&C for Brady & Chloe (very nice touch of history for the loft). Shawn gets a knife, and adds their initials to the door. They go back to the blanket, and get into some heavy duty kissing.
AT THE PENTHOUSE, John is just getting off the phone as Marlena comes in. She talks a bit about her conversation w/Sami, saying that all in all, she thought it went well (You DO?? Egads). John worries because Sami is going to be working for and with the 2 people she seems to hate the most. Marlena agrees that Sami has wreaked havoc in many people’s lives, mentioning Abe, Lexie, Kate and John adds “me, Carrie, Mike, Austin, Brandon, Lucas”. Marlena agrees Sami has a bad track record with people, and with jobs. The phone rings, and he tells her to answer. Marlena does so, expressing delight as she talks with Eric, and learns John has arranged a trip for her to Colorado to see him and her parents.
Sami shows up at Basic Black (in her new red suit) with her W-4 forms, anxious to get the paperwork out of the way, and smooth things for her entry into the fashion world. The gal asks her to wait while she gets her boss. Sami has a daydream about this good looking guy, Brad, who comes out, gets very impressed with her (she now has a low-cut, flowered dress on) and within a few minutes as already promoted her, agreeing he’d like to see her in Kate’s spot, as she is a b**ch. He asks her out, but Sami informs him she is still a married woman (yep, still dreamin’). She gets shook out of her daydream by the arrival of Kate, and a shocked Sami realizes that Kate will be her boss. They exchange barbed pleasantries, and Kate offers to take her to her office. Sami wonders why the elevator goes down instead of up…….and soon learns why, as she is led into a basement storage room, filled with shelves of files, a desk, computer, some old file cabinets. (Please…..BB has NOT been in business that long to have generated files the size of this room). Kate gets a call from Roman, inviting her to dinner, and Sami cannot believe she is expected to work late her lst day. Kate sweetly tells her she might have to work til midnight.
Kate leaves, Sami tries to get the dusty file cabinet drawers open, then finds a huge axe. (WHAT is it doing in that office?). She has a fantasy whereby Roman & Marlena are hugging and kissing away, while Sami (now in a red dress) leads a tied up and gagged John & Kate in to a guilliotine, and proceeds to chop off their heads. (No we do not see it). Roman & Marlena tell Sami how proud they are of her, and her dress did not even show the blood, as she tells them to toddle off on their honeymoon. She will run Basic Black, only she is changing the name…..to Stunningly Sami! ROTFL. Back to reality as Sami sits at her desk, axe close by, and pulls out her pasted together picture of J&M, and talks to herself of revenge.
ABE & ROMAN are at the cop shop, talking of the wreath that Tony sent, with Abe saying his SOB brother-in-law wants him dead. (Thanx Abe, for foregoing actual cussing, a treat!). Over at DiMansion, Lexie arrives, worried and crying over her fears about Abe's safety. Tony suggests they all pack their bags and leave town, but Lexie knows Abe would not leave. Tony tells her he will put his own men on watch for them all. Just then, a raging Abe comes storming in with the wreath. Lexie cannot believe Tony sent the wreath, but Abe made sure with the florist. Tony makes excuses, saying something about it being for that informant. (Oh, puleeze!. How lame.) He claims the card said so, but oops, no card with the wreath….oh, dear, it is still on his desk. (Don’t florists write the cards for you?). He shows it to Lexie, she believes him, showing it to a still angry, unbelieving Abe. Tony is all hearts and violins. Later, alone, Tony puts Abe’s picture on the wreath, saying, Goodbye, Abe.
Back at the loft Rex is asking Mimi why she doesn’t want to talk about her mom. She says she has to go home for some of her things, and doesn’t want him with her. (Me neither, he still has not put on a shirt, lol). She leaves in the elevator, as Rex stand there, musing over Shawn getting the shock of his life tomorrow, and how he won’t know what hit him. Meanwhile, we see Mimi opening the door, to her smoke-filled home, loud music playing, she’s coughing a bit, as a woman’s voice calls out – “Where the hell have you been?”
John & Marlena arrive at Tuscany, are greeted by Maggie, who tells them Kate & Roman are there. Roman thanks John for giving Sami the job, they all chat for a bit. Over at a table, Lexie & Abe (her hair looks longer than earlier today) talk of Theo’s impending Christening, and prospective godparents. She suggests Hope for godmother, as Abe talks about Roman, his good friend and John, who has done so much for them. Lexie suggests Tony, and Abe says no way. They see their friends and go over to join them. The guys chat a bit separately from the gals for a few minutes. Abe tells about the wreath, the threats, the proof that it was Tony and how Lexie won’t see it. He also talks of getting his affairs in order. He asks both John & Roman to be godfathers to Theo, wanting the boy to have a good influence in his life if he is not around, and both accept. As the ladies come along side, Abe tells Lexie about asking John & Roman. Just then Tony comes in. She turns, and sweetly asks Tony to be a godfather. He thinks to himself how he can take control of the boy with Abe not around, and smilingly agrees. AND THE PREVIEWS SHOW

Episode #9638
Tape date –various
Director - Phil Sogard
Summary: Sami gets word from Brandon…Lucas tries to reason with her but she doesn’t hear him…Lexie and Jen continue to worry over their husbands…Rex has another attack…Mimi confronts her mother…and Abe gets a warning from a mystery person. (Colors continue to play a dominant role, particularly in the Lucas/Sami/Tony scenes).
Lucas and Sami…
Lucas (in a black shirt) is at the Java Café talking to Kate on the phone. He is shuffling through his mail and notices a letter that he got by mistake. It is addressed to Sami and the return address is B. Walker. Meanwhile, Sami (in a rose colored top) is at her apartment, still mumbling and grumbling about John and Kate. She gets a call from (the new) Will ready to come home. He asks if she and Lucas are still getting along. Her doorbell rings and she tells him bye, only to open the door and find Lucas. She is nasty to him and tells him to leave…until he pulls out the letter and she snatches it away. She rips it open and reads it, then drops it to the table. Lucas picks it up and reads it…Brandon is ripping her over her behavior towards Abe and Lexie and tells her to just sign the papers and send them back. She is furious and launches into a tirade against Abe and Lexie. She calls Lexie a bitch and a phony and says she makes her want to throw up. She continues to rant about them, saying she wishes both of them would drop dead. Lucas tries to point out that it was all her fault, but she doesn’t want to hear it and falls on the sofa crying. He offers to help her however he can, but she says she has never been happy since she was a little girl and her family was together. She goes on about Marlena and John and their precious little Isabella. Lucas points out that Marlena is in love with John and that Roman has moved on as well and that they will NEVER get back together, for her to just give it up. This launches Sami into a tirade about Kate as well, calling her names. Lucas shuts her up, telling her that everyone is happy and to just leave it alone. But Sami vows to change all that. Lucas says she needs to concentrate on Will and accept reality. Her parents have moved on…she should as well.
Meanwhile, over at DiMansion…
There is a replay of Tony’s phone call from “father”. (BTW, Tony is still dressed in all black). He says that by the time the people of Salem learn that Stefano DiMera is alive and well, it will be too late. Tony takes out an envelope of photos and asks Stefano what his plans are. He lays the pictures out on a table and looks at them. The first four are Kate, Roman, John and Marlena. The camera pans to show LOTS of pictures. I saw Jack, Jennifer, Alice, Lexie, Abe, Bo, Hope, Shawn, Celeste…I think the entire cast was there on the table. Tony talks about his plan being so complex and how it will destroy the lives of all the people of Salem…at least those that survive. Tony tells him to count on him and that Sami will be his ally…and that he will NOT be disappointed in her.
Later, Tony arrives at Sami’s apartment (Lucas is still there) and invites her to dinner. He even has an outfit for her. She grabs it and rushes off to try it on. While she is gone, Lucas asks Tony what he is up to. Tony says that he just likes Sami and asks Lucas why is HE there. Lucas says that Sami is a loose cannon and that he just likes to keep an eye on her for Will’s sake. Tony asks if that is the ONLY reason. Sami comes back with a sexy RED dress on (which Lucas finds inappropriate and doesn’t want her to go). But Sami goes anyway, with a smile on her face.
At the Lockhart Place…
Bonnie is busy working on her scratch-off lottery tickets and puffing away as Mimi comes in furious with her. She rants about her account being empty and learns that it was her mother that did it. Bonnie tells her that she invested the money and Mimi is devastated. Bonnie says that she needs to win the lottery so she can afford to open a country western club and that way she can provide for her and Conner (I guess they remembered that Mimi has a younger brother). Mimi can’t believer her crazy schemes as Bonnie sings a few lines of a new song she has written. Mimi finds one lottery ticket unscratched on the table and does it herself…and wins 2 bucks. Mimi is heartbroken over it all as Bonnie promises to make it up to her. She asks if Rex could lend them some money but Mimi storms out in tears.
Over at Belle’s Loft…
There is a replay of Belle, Rex and the towel. He startles her as she yells “what the hell are you doing?” Later, she is in a robe and gets a call from Shawn telling her he is at the Carvers and will be there in a little while. Rex wants to talk to her about Shawn, telling her that he only wants to get along with him. He swears that he had nothing to do with the attack on Bo and Hope and wants Belle’s help in convincing Shawn of that. Rex has his hands on Belle’s shoulders when Shawn comes in, asking what is going on. He tells Shawn that he wants to work things out, but Shawn wants none of that, telling him that he and Tony are the #1 suspects in the attack. Rex storms out as Shawn and Belle argue over Shawn’s behavior. Rex goes across the hall and seems to be having one of his headaches. He picks up a lamp and smashes it against the wall. Meanwhile, Shawn and Belle continue to argue as Belle points out that Rex IS her brother and that Shawn has no concrete proof that he was responsible for the attack. Shawn vows to keep an eye on that “creep” day and night. He says that he thinks he is a ticking time bomb and asks what if he was programmed to kill. Mimi arrives in the hall and goes to Rex’s apartment. She lets her self in and finds the broken lamp. She has flashbacks of some of the things he has done and said and begins to wonder if he really is responsible for the attack. He climbs through the window as she asks where he was and she notices that he has mud on his feet. He tells her that he is glad to see her and kisses her.
Over at the Carver House…
Shawn delivers the wills to Abe and Jack as Jennifer and Lexie overhear, both wanting explanations. Jack and Jen go out side as she asks what is going on. He claims that he is only being responsible, looking out for her and Abby. Inside, Abe is trying to explain to Lexie as well, but she does NOT appreciate his lying to her and she is quite disturbed. Shawn bids farewell to all and leaves. Outside, Jen informs Jack that they are having dinner with the Carvers and wants him to fix his special burgers. Abby arrives as Jack kids around with her and offers to teach her his secret recipe. Jen overhears and asks what is going on, he has always guarded that with his life. Inside, Abe has shivers (as Sami utters the line about him and Lexie being dead, see above). He says (to himself) that it feels as if someone just walked over his grave. Jennifer sends Abby inside as she questions Jack, but he doesn’t say much. Lexie walks out as Jack decides to go inside to help Abe. Jen and Lexie both worry about their husbands as Jen says that they need to pray for their safety. Inside, Jack and Abe talk about how neither of them knew the other was having a new will drawn up. Abe offers Jack an “out” but he declines, saying he wants to be there when Tony goes down. He asks Jack to be careful and to remember just WHO they are dealing with…just as Jen and Lexie walk in. Lexie says she would like to know that as well. Abe and Jack make themselves scarce and take of. Jen comments that they (she and Lexie sure know how to clear a room). Later, we see Abe in a dark alley as he hears a muffled voice (who claims to be a friend) call out his name. He says “He’s back!” and then rushes off. Abe chases after him, but loses him. He asks “WHO’S back?” then he takes out his flashlight and shines it on a wall. In large RED letters (blood?) it says S T E P H A N O…Freeze frame on Abe’s face…as the previews roll…
On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…
Lexie tells Abe that his lead is dead…why is he wasting his time. She also asks him if he believes that her father is really alive…
Alice, Mickey and Maggie are sitting on a bench. Maggie asks “where did THAT come from?” Alice says “Someone we love is in danger”…
Abbe walks into Jack and Jen’s bedroom (dressed like a tramp) Jen asks “Abigail Joanna…WHAT do you have on?”…
Brady holds Nicole (they are on the bed) as she says “I’ve made one mistake after another.” Victor storms in saying “You’ve made one hell of a mistake right now”…
And the credits roll…

Episode #9639

Director - Roger Inman
Summary: It’s a new day in Salem as the Deveraux’s and Carvers start their day nervously and Victor grows concerned over Brady and Nicole’s relationship.
In the Deveraux bedroom, Jack and Jennifer are in bed. She lies on her side awake and thinking, while he lies on the other side silently working on his laptop computer. Both are in pj mode. When he hears her stir, he quietly puts the pc on the floor. She knows he’s up to something, but he bends down and puts a breakfast tray on her lap (with flowers from the neighbors yard this time, ha!). She commented on their fun evening at the Carvers and begs him to give up this investigation, but his look indicates that’s not going to happen. They go under the covers to play around as Abby shouts she’s outta there. J&J remember it’s the first day of school and call Abby to their room to see what she’s wearing. She walks in wearing a sports bra type black halter, bare midriff, short red skirt, red nylons and wrote all over her new white tennis shoes plus “accessories” (jewelry). Jack agrees with Jen that no daughter of his is starting 7th grade dressed like that. He approves of the shoes (after Abby reminded them of free speech, saying he might do the same to his)…but the outfit had to be changed. Jen tells Abby to put the tshirt on UNDER the top she’s wearing and gets out of bed to supervise. Abby tells them it’s outrageous, stomps and leaves. Jen tells Jack she needs him around to help through Abby’s teen years and Jack tells her that he’ll wait right there (in bed) for her, which suits her just fine. He pulls his laptop off the floor once he’s alone, anxious to find what Abe’s working on.
Abe is at home and in full suit already as he remembers his encounter in the alley the night before where Stefano’s name was written in red. Lexie comes downstairs and finds him looking at a picture of Stefano and asks why. He tells her about what happened and how the person said HE’S BACK and finding Stefano’s name on the wall. Lexie figures it’s creepy being her father’s dead. Abe rationalizes it’s probably just a sicko, but admits he has to investigate every lead, no matter how far fetched it might seem. He changes the subject to his retirement papers that arrived. He needs her signature in a few places. She notes he opted for the reduced pension so his survivor would get full benefits. She mentions her own pension (guess she means the hospital now that she’s back there) She finally agrees to sign it and asks when it’ll be in place.
Salem Place
Abe goes to Salem Place and meets Jack. They talk about their wife’s uneasiness with their investigation. Abe shows Stefano’s picture to Jack and tells him about what happened. Jack pictures the headlines if Stefano was still alive. Abe said every clue to Colin’s case leads back to the Kiriakis mansion. Jack remembers when he and Jen saw Colin taking pictures in the bushes of Nicole. Jack asks who Abe suspects, but Abe’s not saying. Jack wonders if their wives are right to worry about them. Abe tells Jack to go back to his tv show, it’s safer. He’ll handle it on his own. Alone, Jack laughs to himself, saying Abe’s crazy.
Jen and Lexie also rendevous at Java Café (they brought back Salem Place with a vengence, didn’t they?). Lexie asks about Alice and as they’re talking about her, Alice walks up in a beautiful floral blouse, saying it’s not nice to talk behind someone’s back. Maggie and Mickey walk up and Alice knows they’re watching her. Lexie and Jen slip off as Lexie’s a guest on In The House being taped there at Salem Place (should be “Out of the House”, not “In the House”) Lexie introduces a former patient (Mrs. Manning) of hers that suffered from depression. Jen apologizes for not speaking beforehand, but figured it would be more spontaneous if they hadn’t. The show starts and Jen introduces Dr. Carver, and tells about her research into Medical Outreach at the hospital. When Jen announces the show’s subject, depression and how it’s prevalent in seniors, we see Alice looking a little disgusted, haha. Lexie tells how Mrs. Manning lost her husband a few years ago to cancer and was depressed after 45 years of marriage to lose her husband. The woman brings out a picture of Albert, her late husband to show to Lexie and Jennifer. Lexie sees Abe’s face in the picture and Jen sees Jack’s. She tells them how her husband called her at noon everyday to just say he loved her. Jen asks how do you go on without your husband. She tells them how her husband had just retired and they had hoped to move by the ocean. He died before she got home from the store one day. Jen and Lexie listen as the woman tells how depressed she got when she realized her husband was never coming home again, not able to get out of her bed in the morning. Lexie explains how Mrs. Manning came to the clinic and her attitude about dealing with your own problems, but Lexie changed her mind. Jen and Lexie exchange glances as they say that losing your husband at any age must be very difficult.
Back on the bench watching the show, Alice gets a chill and Mickey offers to get her sweater. She tells him it’s 80 degrees, but he and Maggie get a cool breeze as well…Alice said someone they love is in danger. Jen and Lexie join them and talk about Alice’s theory about a ghost saying someone’s name and they’re doomed. They talk about all the weird things happening. Lexie tells her about Abe’s annuity package and Jen concerned about Jack’s will. Maggie and Mickey leave and she knows something’s wrong and wants to know what. Maggie fearfully asks if he saw Tom and did he say his name? Mickey tells her no, he didn’t, but Abe did. In tears, Maggie asks what happened and Mickey tells her. Both Abe and Jack get phone calls about Colin’s murder.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Nico reports to Victor, saying that Mrs. K. spent the night in her bedroom. Victor tells himself if she tries to get away again that she’ll find herself doing a life sentence for the murder of Colin Murphy. Upstairs Nicole is having a nightmare of when she shot Colin. Brady breaks into her room as she’s crying loudly saying she didn’t mean to. Brady sits on the bed (shirtless, but pants on), comforting her. They look into each other’s eyes as she admits making mistakes in her life and she wishes she could do some things over. Victor walks into the open doorway saying she’s making one hell of a mistake now. He orders her to cover up, thanks Brady for coming to his wife’s rescue and reminding him of his meeting, hinting it’s time to leave. After Brady’s gone he accuses Nicole of faking a nightmare and posing for Brady’s rescue. They exchange insults… Yada yada, yawn..
Brady goes to take a hot shower and turns on the water, but thinks about Nicole. We see her slip up behind him (hey, the water’s running, don’t waste it!!) and they start kissing. Back to reality, he’s surprised at the fantasy he had. He later comes downstairs in his suit and Victor insists he wait and talk to him. Brady doesn’t want to be late, but Victor reminds him who his boss is. Nicole comes downstairs and Victor orders her to go shopping and spend his money. She leaves, wondering who she can get to help her kill Victor (that’s what got you into the mess you’re in Nicole.) Victor asks Brady how it felt when he found Nicole in his arms. Brady insists he thinks of Nicole as Victor’s wife. Victor tells Brady hands off Nicole, his wife belongs in his bed (gee, can’t understand why she’s not in your bed the way you treat her Vic). Brady remembers Nicole on their day of fun and tells Victor he’s right, he needs to start seeing other women.
Nicole’s at Java Café and hears a noise. She flashes back to shooting Colin. She looks down and sees red all over her hand (from the ketchup bottle in her other hand) and freaks. Abe walks up and takes her arm as previews for the next DOOL roll…
Nicole tells Brady that Victor can’t give her what he can give her. He’s young and kind and she needs him in her life…we see Victor overhearing this…
Philip and Shawn are in the gym and wonder why Rex hates the Brady’s so much..Shawn says that’s what Dimeras do…
Rex hates being a Brady and slams a locker..
Some guy tells Abe that the closer he gets to the truth, the closer he gets to danger. Abe said he’s not sharing the information with Jack…
Jack says he’s on the trail there and can smell the truth…as a target forms over his face and the credits roll…

Separately, both Abe & Jack get closer to the truth about Colin Murphy’s murder, Nicole cries a lot on Brady’s shoulder, & Caroline meets with Victor.
IN THE LOFT Mimi tells Belle about her money being all gone, but doesn’t squeal on her mom. She cries and sobs over her misfortune (how does that song go…..”if it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all”…..lolol) and then they talk of their friendship, reminiscing over lemonade stands at age 7, their homes, etc. Belle says she has enough to cover the rent, they are friends, and she will hear no more about it. The bank probably made a mistake and will find it. They talk about trying to find a way to get Rex and Shawn to get along better.
Meanwhile, Philip & Shawn are having a nice one on one game of basketball, when Rex butts in, (in his usual nasty mode) telling them how they are doing it all wrong, the laws of physics always prevail, blah, blah, blah. He & Shawn go one on one and when the score is 14-0, Shawn’s favor, Philip takes Shawn’s place, and also scores a few shots. Rex says they use trickery and are sneaky, but they insist the game is played that way. (And if Rex ever watched one on TV, he’d know that!) They go to the lockers, Shawn & Rex are belligerent, of course (man, this is getting soooooo old!), Phil & Shawn leave, as Rex slam a locker door, saying he doesn’t want to be a Brady.
They all arrive back at the loft, when Belle greets them all by saying they are ALL going to have a dinner party, all will have fun, get along, good times, etc.
OVER AT SALEM PLACE Jack literally bumps into Caroline, who tells him Shawn has gone to Ireland – a rather emotional journey – as the family is moving Colin’s body into the family crypt. She comments on Colin having so much promise, dying so young, & Jack tells her he is investigating Colin’s murder. Caroline immediately gets worried for Jack’s safety, says Jack should let the police handle it, trying to talk him out of it, but Jack is pretty confident of his methods.
Meanwhile, Brady & Victor are standing on a corner, watching all the girls go by. (yep, another old song lyric, lol). Vic chastises Brady for not noticing them, but Brady doesn’t intend picking any up in a mall. They spot Abe talking to Nicole, and go over before, as Vic says, she says something she shouldn’t. At the Java Café, we see a replay of Nicole putting ketchup on her fries, hearing the backfire, seeing ketchup on her hand, flashing back to struggling with the gun and someone on the terrace on her wedding day, getting upset, and Abe grabbing her arm. He asks her if the backfire sounded like a shot, and the ketchup reminded her of blood. As she nods her head, Victor & Brady come up, with Vic immediately telling Abe to stop strong arming his wife. Brady says Nicole was probably reminded of when her father got shot, and she watched him die, bleeding, from a chest wound. She agrees. Abe doesn’t buy it, but leaves. Vic orders Nicole to go home, Nico has the car, but Brady insists he will take her as he has to pick something up. Victor says he will be home in a bit
Victor & Caroline are sitting on a bench talking. She says she is concerned about him, something is bothering him, and is it his marriage. He tells her of a problem developing between Nicole and his grandson, Caroline suggests he ask Brady to leave. Victor won’t do that…..family means too much. He talks of how he is not close to Bo, of course, Isabella is dead, he lost Philip to the Marines and knows he would not want to come into the business, and his only hope now is grandson Brady. (guess Justin no longer counts now that he is living in Texas, huh? But then, only a nephew. LOL) He tells Caroline how much she still means to him, how she was the love of his life, and his life would be so different if she had chosen to come with him, rather than stay with Shawn. Caroline is sorry he still has these feelings, and hopes things work out now for him.
Jack meets with the caterer from the Kiriakis wedding, who has list of all the workers from that evening. All have already given statements to police except one…Eileen Parker, who abruptly left in the middle of everything. When he checked, she had gone very suddenly to Paris! But he learned she is back, and will call for her to meet Jack. Later, Jack is waiting for Eileen, and has a few funny moments with strange women he thinks are her. (Oh, do love that Matt!) Eileen arrives, saying she just returned last night, and just heard about the murder that night. She tells Jack that she overheard Nicole and Victor arguing about him inviting Colin to the wedding, as she was bringing up a bottle of champagne. Nicole came down, saw her, asked if she heard them. She admitted she did, Nik gave her a wad of money, said to pack her things and leave, forget she heard anything. Later, as she was leaving, she heard Nicole arguing with another man on the terrace. Did not know who, but as she turned the corner, bumped into Mr. Kiriakis, who obviously had heard everything, and now he gave her another wad of money to leave town, arranging for her to go to cooking school in Paris. She thinks she should go to the police, but Jack says not to worry, he will tell them all. She leaves, and Jack smiles, saying he is on the trail, and can smell the truth.
Caroline is on the phone to Shawn, saying she misses him. But she is worried, something is not right. Alice & Celeste feel it, too. Something bad is going to happen.
AT THE COP SHOP Abe arrives, and joins Tek in a room full of computers. He gives him 3 surveillance tapes from the Kiriakis wedding, plus the one the professional photographer was shooting inside the house. He comments how the murder occurred on the terrace, but the tapes show nothing! Wants Tek to go over them. He returns a short time later, and Tek has done the job. Discovered the surveillance tapes have been flawlessly edited. But he did find something. He shows Abe that from inside the house, a shot of the terrace window shows something white outside…wedding veil. Plus a closeup shows a hand, wearing a watch, same brand as Colin wore that nite, with the time showing as the approximate time Colin was killed. Further close up shows ring on pinkie finger matching the police photo of Colin’s hand with same exact ring.
AT THE KIRIAKIS MANSION, Nicole is in her room, still upset. Brady knocks, she finally opens the door, & cries on his shoulder. She claims she was upset at mall about her father, but he knows better, he made it all up. He cannot do this anymore, she has to talk to her husband. To herself, she thinks about killing Victor and needing Brady, and aloud begs him to stay, & how much she needs him, saying Victor is old and cruel and he is young and kind, and begging him to stay. Outside the door, Victor has heard every word. Freeze frame on his face, as huge flames symbolically burn all around him. AND TOMORROW’S PREVIEWS SHOW

Episode#9641
Tape date – various
Director – Albert Alarr
Summary: Abe pays a visit to the Kiriakas Mansion…Jack gets some new info…Mimi worries over her money woes…Lucas gives Sami a warning. Fast-paced show as almost everyone seems to end up at Salem Place at one time or another.
At DiMansion…
Tony is on the phone with “father” talking about the future of Theo as Cassie walks in asking who he is talking to. Tony cuts the call short and covers, explaining that it was a business deal to make up for the one that was ruined by the Bradys. He talks about how someday he will pass everything on to her and Rex and they will pass to their children. She comments that they are not real DiMeras and talks about their genetic engineering. She tells Tony she is worried about Rex’s headaches, particularly now that he is not living at the mansion and they can’t keep an eye on him. Tony says that he will see that Rex has a checkup. Cassie leaves to go and look for Rex. Later, Tony is on the phone again with “father” demanding to know what for what purpose Rex and Cassie were created. Apparently “father” gets upset with him and hangs up on him. Bart comes in and overhears the last part of it, claming that when he is upset, he talks to Stefano as well. But Tony informs him that Stefano is indeed alive, shocking Bart.
At Salem Place…
Sami and Will are waiting for Lucas there (who is going to take Will shopping). But on his way, Lucas has a run-in with Bonnie causing her to drop her cigarette. She picks it up and blows smoke in his face and stomps off. As they wait, Sami and Will talk and Will asks when Brandon is coming back. Sami lies, saying soon, as Lucas walks up and overhears. Will rushes off to talk to a friend as Luca chastises Sami for lying to him. Delusional Sami is sure that Brandon WILL return and they will work out their problems. But Lucas (the voice of reason) points out that IF Brandon did return, he’d want nothing to do with Tony DiMera’s girlfriend. Sami adamantly says she is NOT his girlfriend as Lucas says that she must be his whore. She tries to slap him but Lucas stops her. Lucas tells Sami that Tony is Stefano’s son and that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. He warns her that Tony will want something in return and leaves with Will, causing Sami to think.
Jack is at the Java Café, working on his laptop, going over the case. Later he is on the phone talking with the bank asking questions about access to the Colin Murphy bank records. After a little double talk and thinly veiled threats, he heads over there. Later, he is back with an envelope and pulls out papers and is shocked about what he reads…about the transfer of $5 million dollars. Will walks up and talks to him briefly, then ends up looking over his shoulder (did he see something that he may let slip?) After Jack shoos him off, he studies the papers and realizes that the account in question belongs to Nicole Walker.
Mimi and Belle are shopping for food for their dinner party as Mimi keeps obsessing over money. Belle talks about Mimi wearing her new dress as Mimi has flashbacks of returning it. They go to the Java Café as Belle orders a coffee and Mimi water. Mimi keeps making money comments and then spots her mother and rushes over. Rex and Shawn also run into each other for their usual round of arguing, sniping and evil looks. Shawn asks why Rex is following him and they realize that they are both there to meet their girlfriends. Shawn walks over to the Java Café just as Mimi is rushing off, asking Belle what is wrong with her. Mimi confronts her mom about the money again (noticing that she has on a new outfit). Rex is having another one of his headaches. Shawn and Belle discuss Mimi’s family problems as Mimi and her mother argue. Bonnie promises her that someday they WILL hit it big and be rich. Rex walks up and Bonnie wants an introduction. She needles him about his rich, single father, saying she would LOVE to meet him as well as Mimi rolls her eyes. She and Rex join Shawn and Belle (more sniping from Rex and Shawn) as Belle plays referee. Cassie walks up and overhears them talking about a party. She quickly learns that she is NOT invited (couples only, wanna bet she and Philip show up?) She pulls Rex aside and asks about his headaches. She wants to tell Tony the truth about them not being DiMeras, but Rex talks her out of it. She mentions something about Stefano being dead, but Rex asks “is he?” He says he isn’t so sure about it, but they must trust Tony. While they are gone, Shawn warns Belle about Rex being dangerous.
At the Kiriakis Mansion…
There is a replay of Victor overhearing Brady and Nicole, but his eaves dropping is interrupted when Henderson tells him that Abe Carver is there. Vic heads on down and tells him to send down Nicole. Downstairs, Victor is a bit perturbed about Abe dropping in, but Abe informs him it is police business. Brady and Nicole come in even though Victor asks Brady to leave, he stays. Abe tells them that he has more questions about Colin’s murder as Nicole drops a glass and freaks out. Abe informs them that he is being pushed to solve the case and is reviewing everyone’s statements. They review the details (as Nicole has her daily flashback). She denies knowing anything or even seeing Colin that night. Abe whips out the photo still from the video and asks her what is she with holding. After he proves it was Colin in the photo, she finally admits that she did see Colin outside but only briefly. Victor asks where the photo came from as Abe explains that the outside security videos didn’t even show this encounter and that they know they were tampered with. Victor points out that Abe has no hard evidence and asks what his theory is, which Abe doesn’t have. Victor finally has had enough and excuses Abe as Brady walks him out. Victor whispers in Nicole’s ear and asks if she feels the noose beginning to tighten. She rushes upstairs, as he follows her.
We then see Abe and Brady walking through Salem Place as Abe tells him that he believes that someone in that mansion is guilty of murder and it’s not him…and for him to be careful. Jack rushes up wanting to talk to Abe as Brady leaves. Jack asks Abe if he has any new leads and offers to make a trade. Abe warns Jack to be careful and to back off. Abe wants the new info that Jack has, but he refuses to give it up, unless he gets something in return. Brady is staring in a window and begins to have doubts about Nicole, but is sure that she could not be capable of murder.
Back at the mansion, Nicole paces her room as Victor comes in. She wants to flee, but Victor tells her to calm down. She has an epiphany and says that if Abe dies, she would be in the clear…the key to her survival is obvious…Abe Carver must die. Victor asks if she has gone mad…you can’t kill the police commander. She says no, Victor must kill him for her. She blackmails him, saying that if she ends up in prison, all Victor’s dirty little secrets will come out. She says that the only way Victor can protect himself is to kill anyone that could send her to jail.
Back at DiMansion…
After Tony reveals to Bart that Stefano is still alive, Bart just can’t believe it. Tony talks about how Stefano always used and manipulated people. Bart asks when does he feel that Stefano will try to carry out his plan and Tony says soon. He says that he is sure that he, Cassie and Rex will be his unwitting accomplices and executioners and that all of Stefano’s enemies will be the victims…as the previews roll…

Director – Randy Robbins
Summary: Tension at the spy kids dinner party as a mock trial commences, Jack goes undercover...maybe for the last time; Abe asks Bo and Hope to rejoin the force and Jen's nervousness continues as she visits Gram and finds her on the couch.
AT THE LOFT, Belle and Mimi prepare for their dinner party. Mimi’s rolling out the pie crust and it’s not cooperating. Belle asks if she used margarine instead of butter and Mimi thought margarine would be cheaper (can’t believe they’re MAKING a pie anyway or not using a ready made crust). Shawn stops by and offers to help. Belle just wants him to chill so the night won’t be a disaster.
Across the hall Cassie whines to Rex that she wasn’t invited to the party. He shoos her off, promising to take a nap saying he’ll be fine after that. Rex has a nightmare where Bo and Hope confront him about trying to kill them and sees the bloody club in his hand. Cassie runs into Philip in the hall. He’s carrying flowers and admits his date had to work late, so he’s going stag. Belle suggests that Shawn either get along with Rex or move home if it’s too hard living with Rex and Mimi tells him that her boyfriend is welcome in her apartment anytime. He lived with Rex at the dorm, why can’t he here. He says the same of Cassie to Belle and she’s saved when Philip knocks. He shows them who he brought with him. Philip asks Cassie to behave and Rex arrives, surprised and not happy to see her there. He offers to help and Belle tells him she’s got everything under control as we see Shawn helping her. Rex holds his head in pain and thrusts a knife into the loaf of bread on the counter. He pulls it out again and Shawn orders him to put it down, now! Rex tells Shawn he wouldn’t hurt his (Shawn’s) parents (even calls him “dude”). Shawn mentions Rex’s anger management problem and Rex reminds Shawn of his own similar anger issues..putting his own hand through glass. Rex tells Shawn he, more then anyone, should know what it’s like to be accused of a crime he didn’t do. Shawn announces he can’t stay there and is leaving. Belle has an idea. She frustrated at the tension and suggests they do a mock trial like they do at law school. She reminds him he’s pre-law. Rex agrees no more secrets or lies and no more breaking in (to Shawn). Philip agrees and says they need an impartial judge. Philip suggests Belle be judge being she’s both Rex’s sister and Shawn’s girlfriend. They start dinner with their mock trial and Belle asks Mimi about Rex’s temper and does she think he could hurt anyone. She tells them no and goes to get the pies out of the oven as Rex follows her. She tells him she lied for him and doesn’t explain, returning to the table. Philip asks Belle if she thinks Rex is guilty or innocent (so much for a trial, haha).
AT THE TV STUDIO, Bo and Hope individually go to investigate. Abe finds them there. The 3 talk about Tony being the prime suspect. Abe asks Bo to come back to the police force. He’d have his seniority back as well as great benefits. He knows Bo left out of frustration, but working on the side of the law instead of breaking and entering to investigate would be easier. Besides that, he needs Bo to help him protect his back (where’s Roman nowadays?) Hope said they always work as a team and Abe tells her the force could always use man or woman power, if they can report to Roman as Commander. He tells them about retiring. He’s put 20+ years in and ready to spend time with Theo and Brandon. He wants to solve the last few cases and leave knowing the job’s done. We see someone looking through the curtains at the three of them. Hope tells Abe she’s worried about Alice and she needs to be available for her. Abe tells them about Celeste’s “vibes” and they talk about the old wives tale about a departed saying someone’s name. Abe doesn’t tell them about hearing Tom call his name, but we see a B&W flashback of it as he remembers it. The lights go out and Bo holds Hope as she worries about it happening again. They find it was just a blown fuse and Abe tells them about the cut fiber optic line problem. Hope feels a little jumpy about being there and their talking about ghosts. She wants to stop by Grans and Bo and Abe want to go too. Abe tells them it would mean a lot to him if they both come back to the force when he goes. Bo rewords it as when he “leaves”, but Abe reiterates when he “goes”.
AT THE NEWSPAPER OFFICE, Harold pressures Jack for a hint as to what his BIG story is about. Jack admits he’s got everything he needs, but it’s all circumstantial and he needs proof. Jack doesn’t want to go home as he knows Jen would pressure him for details. Harold needs someone to cover a mundane story in the lake front district about a crane breaking some fiber optic cables and Jack readily accepts.
AT THE KIRIAKIS MANSION, Nicole asks Victor if Abe’s still alive. He reminds her being responsible for Colin’s death got her into this mess and another one won’t help. She threatens to let his son and grandsons know what a loser he is if he doesn’t whack Abe for her. Later as they’re talking, we hear a knock at the door. Victor instructs Henderson not to disturb them as they head upstairs and it’s Jack, dressed as a phone repairman. Henderson lurks as Jack’s supposedly working on the phone lines (at that time of night? What phone company do they have for nighttime service, haha) and goes to another room when Jack comments on how long it’ll take being watched. Henderson goes out of the room.
JEN VISITS GRAM and finds a dark house. She finds Gram lying on the couch and rushes over to see if she’s ok. Gram wakens up, happy to see Jennifer Rose. She tells Jennifer she was just taking a nap, doesn’t she ever take one? Jen admits she does, but Gran doesn’t. Alice was having a lovely dream about Tom and when Jennifer tells her she brought dinner for her, Alice admits having eaten already but Jennifer should be home eating dinner with her family. Jen says Abby’s at a friends (first night of school at a friend’s house?) and Jack hasn’t called, but is working on a dangerous story (so, call HIS cellphone then) and she’s worried about him. Later Mickey and Maggie arrive and Jen greets them in the foyer. She’s worried about Alice and suggests they move her downstairs and take turns shopping and cooking for her. Mickey asks if Alice is still having nightmares and Maggie tells Jen that it’s not Alice, but the that there are evil things happening in Salem now (being Mickey told her about Abe’s seeing Tom too). She doesn’t tell Jen about Abe, but explains how strange things have been happening lately.
Jen calls the paper and Harold tells her about sending Jack out for a routine story, but she can reach him on his cell (haha..told ya!). She calls his cell and we see Jack working on the phone when Nicole comes downstairs asking if everything’s fixed. He tells her absolutely (in fake voice) and walks away. He goes out to the car and we see he’s planted a bug in the phone. He listens for a bit, but while he’s messing with the dials, Nicole tries using the phone and surprised it doesn’t work as the phone man was just there to fix it. Victor tells her the problem is with the outside lines, not inside and finds the bug in the mouthpiece. He smashes it. Victor tells her it’s good for phone conversations and conversations in the room. He tells her it’s only good for about 500 yards. Nicole threatens to ruin Victor’s life forever if he doesn’t get rid of whose doing this. Victor finds Jack in his truck and gives him his marching orders. He rips off Jack’s fake mustache and tells him to walk away from there and never come back. Jack walks away and we see someone pointing a gun at him.
Bo, Hope and Abe arrive to learn that Gran just went to bed. Jen asks about Jack, thinking he was with Abe. Abe tells her no. She’s worried he’s only incommunicato because he’s undercover. Abe leaves and Mickey walks him out. Mickey asks how he’s doing and Abe assures him he didn’t see Tom in there and thanks him for taking care of his will. Inside Jen shows Hope Abby’s camp pictures. She finds a picture of Jack that Abby took and sets it on the table. Jen sees Bo and Hope off outside and as Jack’s walking away from Victor’s, his pictures starts smoking and catches fire as the previews for the next DOOL roll…
Shawn yells that the Dimeras always have it out for the Bradys and won’t believe that Rex is innocent. Cassie tells him he doesn’t know what he’s talking about…
Jen finds the picture of Jack half burnt and tells Uncle Mickey she feels something’s going to happen and is worried about losing Jack and what would she do without him…
Jack hears a noise as the gun is cocked, wondering what the noise is….(sniff)

Director – Herb Stein
Summary: More strange happenings in Salem, as another resident sees the spirit of Tom Horton…Jennifer is sure something bad has happened to Jack (It has, but not what you think)…The mock trial continues at the loft (yawn), leading to an arguemnt…Abe moves in to make an arrest.
At the Loft…
the kids discuss the attack on Bo and Hope. After she hears all sides, Belle decides that Rex is not guilty, to which Shawn explodes, sure that he is. She explains that there just isn’t enough evidence and that they may never learn who was responsible, just like with Colin Murphy. She says that they need to give Rex the benefit of the doubt. Shawn starts mouthing off about the DiMeras, until he and Rex go at it, with Philip having to step in and break them up. Shawn goes on about how Cassie and Rex arrived with the Phoenix tattoos and feels that Stefano had a purpose for them. Belle points out that her dad also had the tattoo and since she is the daughter of the “pawn”, (who happens to be a half brother to Tony) does that make her evil as well? She asks if Shawn will go after her dad next. They get into a heated argument with Belle getting very defensive. Shawn yells that Rex is not innocent and that he will NEVER believe it and storms out of the room. Philip decides it is time to leave and takes Cassie with him. In the hallway, Cassie tells him that now is the perfect time to make his move on Belle. Inside, Belle fears that she has lost Shawn. Shawn goes to the roof and damns Rex as Rex goes to his room, begins to rub his temples and fumes that a Brady will NEVER stand in his way.
At the Horton House…
Jen, Mickey and Maggie go back inside (Bo and Hope had just left) and smell smoke. Mickey goes up to check on Alice as Maggie and Jen head into the den and discover the picture on fire. Maggie throws water on it as Jen begins to worry and fret that something terrible has happened to Jack, feeling that this is a sign. Mickey and Maggie try to calm her down as Mickey tries to offer a reasonable explanation (saying it was too close to the lamp and the bulb got too hot). Jen tries Jack’s cellphone again as Maggie worries that Jen may be right. She tells them that Jack’s big story involves the DiMeras and that she is so worried. She gets a chill (even though both Mickey and Maggie say it is stuffy in there). Jen calls Harold at the office and learns that he hasn’t heard from him for hours. She finds out that he went to cover the story on the water front and worries even more. She decides she needs help and wants to go over to see Abe. Mickey sends Maggie with her as he will stay there and keep an eye on Alice. After they leave, Alice comes in saying “It’s happening, isn’t it?…Tom’s warning…is it coming true?” She looks at the burned picture as Mickey fetches her some warm milk. Mickey tries to convince her that the lamp caused it, but she isn’t convinced, fearing it is an omen. She looks at Tom’s picture, saying that she needs to pray for their family and friends. She tells Tom to ask the Lord to keep them all safe. Later, as Mickey examines the lamp, he hears something and turns to see Tom’s image. In disbelief, he asks why is he there and what is he trying to tell them…then Tom fades away.
At the Carver House…
Abe returns home to be greeted by Lexie and Theo (oh he is adorable). Abe volunteers to give him his bath and read him a story as Lexie chants her mantra about how much they love and need him and for him to never leave them, but worries all the while. Later, Abe comes back down after putting Theo to bed (they laugh about Abe’s having to sing to him). They snuggle on the sofa and talk about him retiring. Lexie wants to take a second honeymoon as they look forward to the future. Abe says he has only a few cases to solve first, but she wants him out now. He tells her that he is close to making an arrest at the Kiriakis Mansion, which worries her even more. Abe gets a call about a shooting in front of the Kiriakis Estate and rushes off, as Lexie begs him not to.
After he leaves, Jen and Maggie show up with Jen telling Lexie that she feels that Jack is in danger (what’s new?…she says THAT everytime they are together) They talk about how Jack and Abe both drew up new wills recently and worry some more. They tell Lexie about Jack’s picture catching fire and Lexie tells them to stay until they hear from Abe and mentions that the Christening is tomorrow. As Jen waits and worries, she says that if Jack is NOT dead…she will surely kill him (LOL). When Lexie goes to make them some herbal tea, Maggie confides in Jen and tells her that Lexie has more reason to worry than Jen. She tells her about Abe seeing Tom’s image at Alice’s and that he said his name. Lexie overhears this and drops the serving tray in shock.
At the Kiriakis Mansion…
As Jack leaves we see someone in the bushes pointing a gun at him. At the house, Brady comes in from the pool calling out for Nicole and Victor (neither of which can be found). Jack hears a noise, but thinks he imagined it. Inside, Brady hears a gunshot as we see Jack fall to the street with his head resting on the curb dripping blood. In the house, Nicole walks into the den (looking a bit rattled) and fixes herself a drink as Victor comes in the front door. Brady tells them about the noise and says he is going to check around. Both of them say NO so he picks up the phone and learns it doesn’t work. Nicole mentions the repairman as Victor says he was just a reporter snooping around ant that he won’t be back (as Nicole says “EVER”). Outside, a man walks up and finds Jack and calls 911. Later the cops and paramedics are there as Abe arrives and learns that it is Jack. We learn that Jack was not hit by a bullet and that the blood was from a blow to the head when he hit the curb and they are bandaging him up. Inside, Victor tells Brady he chased the reporter off. Brady goes to change as Victor asks Nicole if Brady did indeed hear a shot and calls her his “killer wife with a taste for blood”. Outside, Abe questions Jack and he says he heard what he thought was shot and dove to the curb and hit his head. (LOL as Abe says it is a good thing that Jack is a “bonehead” or he could have gotten hurt). Abe asks about the disguise and learns that Jack was snooping around after he told him not to. Inside, Victor informs Nicole that the repairman was Jack and she warns Victor that he had better protect her or HE will go to prison as well. Jack tells Abe about his run-in with Victor as Abe storms toward the house, saying he is going to arrest a killer…with Jack following closely behind. Brady returns back downstairs as the doorbell rings. Outside, Jack tries to convince Abe to let him go with him, but Abe pushes him into the bushes. Abe demands to be let in as Nicole whispers to Victor go get rid of him. He goes in and tells them that he is there about the shooting and is sure that who pulled the trigger is in this room. Freeze frame on Nicole’s face…as the previews roll…
On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…
Shawn kisses Belle’s hand, saying that he loves her so much…as Rex and Mimi kiss…
Victor shouts “I’ll tell you who committed a crime and should be arrested right now…” as the camera flashes on Nicole, then Brady…
Lexie says “whoever is called out by the spirit is doomed…he is going to die, isn’t he?” as we see the wreath with Abe’s picture on it…

Director – ROY B. STEINBERG
Summary: Belle explains her verdict to Shawn, Lexie rushes to Tony after Maggie tells her about Tom saying Abe's name, Mickey admits seeing his father's ghost and Abe and Jack confront Victor and Nicole...
At Dimansion…
Tony argues with Stefano on the phone about hanging up on him earlier. He tells him he’s worried about the twins and comments he should be as he’s their father, right? Stefano said they belong to the world. They talk about Abe being in the way and how to get rid of him. Tony chuckles, saying he had the same idea and his wreath is already before the processional horse. They finish their call and Tony puts the wreath on the couch and covers it with something as the doorbell rings. He gets the door and it’s Lexie, demanding to know if her husband is safe. He jokes with her, saying they’re talking about Abe Carver, the man who always follows the book…saying “just the facts maam”. He gives her some cognac for her nerves. She asks him for the truth and he promises to give it to her (yeah, right!). She tells him about Abe’s encounter in Salem Place where someone said HE’S BACK and Abe’s seeing Stefano’s name on the wall. He acts confused as she asks if Stefano is still alive. He denies it, saying their father is dead and his ashes are on the mantle. She believes him and smiling, reminds him he’ll be Theo’s Godfather tomorrow. He wants to be a big influence in Theo’s life, but she reminds him Abe won’t let that happen. She rushes off as Maggie and Jennifer are watching Theo. To himself he apologizes for not being able to tell her the truth. Taking Stefano’s urn off the mantle, he says that dead Carvers, Brady’s and Hortons don’t come back to life, only Dimeras do.
Bart joins Tony and says he won’t go to Abe’s funeral. He has a theory that if he doesn’t go to their funerals, they won’t come to his, LOL. Tony said he’ll go as he wants to make sure he’s dead as he’s getting too close to their secrets. He says that Abe signed his own death warrant.
On the loft’s roof…
Belle finds Shawn doing pushups. She explains why her verdict was what it was. She figures if they all became friends, Rex would let his guard down and maybe slip. Shawn smiles and likes the idea and apologizes for his macho attitude. He tells her he loves her and they kiss. She jokes about they’re being the next generation of John/Marlena and Bo and Hope, solving mysteries together. They joke about how this type of stuff runs in their blood and she wonders what their children would be like. Holding her he loves talking about this. Later they talk about why the twins were created and he figures Stefano is still pulling the strings. Cue the eerie music as Shawn tells Belle that the Dimeras are up to no good and they have to be on their toes.
Mimi walks into Rex’s apartment and finds him shirtless.
Rex is happy about Shawn’s anger at losing the case and figures Shawn also lost Belle. Mimi tells him not to feel too confident and reminds him about Dr. Rolf and his other anger issues and why she left him that time. She suggests he get counseling, perhaps with Marlena. He agrees to when she returns from Colorado. He drops his briefs and kicks them away, then carries Mimi to bed (he knows how to shut her up all right, ha!). Later, instead of afterglow under the sheets, Mimi asks Rex how long he can keep the secret as to who his real parents are. He blows up, saying if she loves the Bradys so much, maybe she should get Shawn as her boyfriend. He calls the Brady’s lower class pub owners and he’s been genetically engineered to be a Dimera and he will be. Mimi tells him he scares her talking about carrying on Stefano’s legacy. He says he’s going to scare a lot of people. To herself, she wonders what Stefano had planned for Rex.
At the Carver home..
in tears, Maggie tells Lexie what Mickey told her about Abe seeing Tom Horton and Tom calling his name. Poor Maggie is beside herself in guilt as it soaks into Lexie why Abe’s updated his will and got his retirement paperwork in order. She breaks down. Jennifer agrees she’d feel the same way if Jack’s name were said. Lexie wants to rush to Abe and Jen and Maggie offer to sit with Theo. After the two check on Theo, the doorbell rings. It’s Mickey. He came to see what’s happening and wants to make sure they get home okay. They assure him they could get home on their own, but can tell he’s pale and shaken a bit, and ask why. He confesses to seeing his father’s ghost and worried he’s losing his mind. Maggie asks if he spoke to Mickey and he shakes his head no. Jen answers the phone CARVER RESIDENCE. It’s the police dispatcher asking if Commander Carver needs any more information about the shooting at the Lakeside District. Jennifer tells him she’s not Mrs. Carver and the Commander’s not there, but asks who was shot. He tells her some reporter, but that he wasn’t really shot, just minor injuries. Lexie returns home and tells them she went to see Tony, not Abe, and Tony assured her everything’s ok. Jen tells Lexie about the phone call and that the injuries were minor.
At the Kiriakis mansion
while Abe is talking to Victor, Nicole and Brady about the shooting outside, Jack finds another way in and pointing at Nicole, rushes in saying she missed. Abe tells Jack he wanted him to stay outside, but Jack rambles on about covering your own murder attempt is every reporter’s dream. Jack claims to have been outside listening to the Dave Matthews Band on his headset when Victor ripped them off his head and told him to move on, which he did until someone took a pot shot at him. Nicole mocks the whole neighborhood wants to shoot the phone repairman with the fiber whatever broken and all…and Victor admits telling Jack to leave. He orders Henderson to show them out, but Abe tells them he’s staying as there’s a murderer in the room. He found the camera surveillance tapes at the Kiriakis mansion were tampered with and will find more evidence as to who murdered Colin. Victor bellows this is enough and he’ll say who’s guilty right now. He looks at Nicole’s pleading face and turns around to Abe saying that Jack’s the criminal in the house for breaking in and tampering with his phone. Victor won’t press charges as it would cause bad publicity though. Abe asks what Jack heard, even though Victor said it wouldn’t be admissible in court. Jack admits having heard Victor and Nicole talking about Colin’s killer. Victor bellows of course they were talking about a man killed during their wedding, especially with the investigation in progress again. Jack watches Victor and Nicole’s body language as Abe asks what else he heard. He tells them nothing incriminating, just static. Seeing Nicole’s nervous reaction, Abe agrees to provide police protection at Victor’s request. Brady speaks up for his grandfather and Abe leaves. Brady demands to know what’s going on as he knows neither Victor or Nicole were there when he returned from his run.
Outside Abe and Jack talk. Jack asks if Abe was serious about being close to an arrest. Abe admits maybe as soon as tomorrow. Jack asks who the prime suspect is, but Abe refuses to answer. He tells Jack he’s in danger, too close to the truth. Jack knows that and reminds Abe to be careful too… as a target freezes in on Jack’s face as the previews for the next DOOL roll…
Victor asks Nicole if she took a pot shot at Jack tonight…
Lexie calls Roman…saying it’s a matter of life and death…Abe’s..
Hope and Bo talk in their bedroom about Abe asking them to cover his back, it gave him chills….Hope asks if he thinks Abe’s in that much danger and Bo admits he does. Alice tells Celeste that the funeral starts at the strike of twelve….

Director – Phil Sogard
Nothing new in Salem, (yawn!!) as it’s residents continue to argue, continue to worry about the safety of those close to them, while Bo & Hope come close to a decision, and Celeste has an ominous dream.
JACK COMES TIPTOEING into the house, taking off his shoes as he enters the bedroom. It is for naught, as Jen comes in behind him, worried sick, and seeing his neck bandage, realizes he was the reporter who nearly got shot. Jack tries to defend himself, but Jen will have none of it. He is not a cop, and no story is worth the danger. She cannot go on thinking she and Abby will lose him. Jack apologizes, Jen bursts into tears. They begin to kiss, and fall onto the bed, as we see only her fuzzy slippered foot go up in the air. LOL
BRADY WANTS TO KNOW WHY Victor lied to Carver about being in the room with Brady when Brady heard the shot. Victor skirts around it, saying both he & Nicole were in the house, and he didn’t lie. A cop comes to the door, saying he is to look for clues per Carver’s orders. Vic says o.k., the cop leaves to look around outside, Victor asks Brady to leave. Vic asks Nik if she shot Jack, and they have their usual argument, with both making threats. Brady walks in , wanting the truth, but Victor gets angry, calling him a live-in spy. Victor leaves, & Brady pressures Nicole for what is going on. They talk of Victor, his good and bad sides, & Brady says his dad & Uncle Bo made him well aware b/4 he moved in. Victor returns, still in a bad temper, dismisses Brady, and resumes arguing with Nicole about guilt, jail, who goes down, yada, yada, yada. Outside, Brady hears the 2 cops talking about how Abe only needs one more piece of evidence and can make an arrest. As Brady goes to the door, he spots something in the door frame, digs it out w/his pocket knife….and holds up a bullet.
ABE RETURNS HOME to a very happy Lexie, who is relieved he is safe. She tells him about overhearing Maggie telling Jen about Abe seeing Tom’s ghost, & Abe admits it to be true. She talks of all the weird things that are happening, & they argue (AGAIN) about him retiring right now. Abe goes to check on Theo, Lexie calls Roman for help. He comes over, and is surprised to learn Abe is retiring. Abe comes down, Theo cries, Lexie goes up. Abe makes light of his decision, talking only of wanting to spend more time with his son, having missed out on Brandon’s growing years (wonder why he has not ever talked to Fay about it???), saying Lexie is returning to work part-time, & asks Roman to take over as Commander when he retires. Roman is reluctant, but finally agrees. Abe mentions he’d like Roman to take on Tek (Roman calls him Mr. Gadget, lol), plus tells him about asking Bo & Hope to rejoin the force. Roman is delighted at that idea. Roman leaves, and Abe gives Lexie a box he thinks will give her more peace of mind. Inside is a bullet proof vest. He promises to always wear it….and carry his gun. She cries.
BO & HOPE talk about rejoining the force, & giving up the bounty hunting. (Yayyy) They are going to make a list of the pros & cons, just starting when the phone rings. Tis Tommy, Bo’s red jacketed snitch, (LOL at the description), who tells him that on the streets, someone is looking to buy a special gun, no serial numbers, untraceable. No idea as to buyer, or target. Bo hangs up, tells Hope, figures target must be Jack or Abe. Hope worries it might even be them. They decide to keep themselves and their friends and families safe. Roman arrives, explaining he just came from Abe’s, and asks Bo & Hope to return to the force. Bo says they will sleep on it. He then tells Roman about the prospective gun buyer. As they talk about 4 possible targets, they get as far as Abe & Jack when Roman interrupts and agrees.
CELESTE IS TOSSING AND TURNING in bed, as she has a disturbing dream. She sees a lovely bouquet of flowers, bends to smell, and suddenly they wither, and she mutters “Death”. She then opens a door, going into a church. She is uneasy, but goes up to the front. A bank of lit votive candles suddenly blow out, and all the lovely flower displays wither. She turns, seeing Alice in a pew. She goes to talk to her, happy to see her, saying she hopes Alexandra will get there soon, so as not to miss the Christening. Alice retorts – “Christening? No, when the clock strikes 12, that is when the funeral begins”. A bell tolls. Celeste looks to the front, seeing a lovely Christening font. It dissolves into a casket. She goes up, open it, gasps, as she sees ABE laying in it. Celeste wakes up, the bedside clock rings, she reaches for it, and the picture of Abe, Lexie falls to floor, breaking the glass. and the previews for tomorrow show
Nicole saying to Victor that Abe & Jack are closing in, only a matter of time before they figure it out, & Victor replying that the time may be closer than you think, as he holds up newspaper with headline “Carver says Arrests are near”
Jennifer to Jack – You’re off this investigation. Abby & I are not going to lose you
Celeste to Abe – Someone is going to die today. Someone is going to die….as Lexie, holding Theo, overhears.

Summary: It’s the day of Theo’s Christening as some people continue to worry…while others panic and make threats…towards Abe, in particular. Kate gets a shock…Sami is turned down…Roman makes a purchase…and Hope surprises Bo.
At the Brady House…
Bo and Hope wake up together and talk about Abe and going back to the force. But Hope doesn’t want to talk about that right now, she just wants to concentrate on the Christening. She gets amorous as Bo asks if she is thinking about having another baby. She admits to it and Bo gives her a hard time about the getting up all night, dirty diapers, etc. They begin to kiss (and I assume he gives her another HARD time ;-) Sorry, I couldn’t resist that one. Later, Lexie calls, asking Hope to meet her at Salem Place (she needs to buy some new booties for the Christening). Bo and Hope make plans to meet later at the church.
Kate and Roman…
Are at the Java Café and talk about the night before. Both admit to being in love and Roman asks her to move in with him, which makes Kate’s heart beat a little faster. But, he says, he would like to see a ring on her finger and she admits to wanting a future with him. Roman says he needs to go and buy a gift for Abe’s retirement, but suspiciously wants to go alone. They make plans to meet later at the church. We later see Roman going into the jewelry store. When he comes out, Bo is there to greet him, who gives him a hard time about proposing to Kate. Roman doesn’t deny it.
Also at Salem Place…
we find Lucas following Sami as he watches her wad up the letter from Brandon and toss it in the garbage. He gets it out and begins to read it, infuriating Sami. In the letter, it says if she doesn’t sign and return the annulment papers, he will file for a ‘no fault’ divorce. She tells Lucas she is going to try to convince Abe to help her again but he makes fun of her for that. She yells at him to GO TO HELL and storms off. Kate has spotted Lucas and heads over there, asking what is going on as Lucas talks about Sami’s delusions. She tells Lucas about how she suspects Roman is about to propose. Lucas is happy for her, but asks if she is concerned about Roman learning of her shady past. But she claims she isn’t worried about it. She gets a call from Abe, asking her to come over to his house ASAP, leaving Kate confused.
At the Kiriakis Mansion…
Nicole gives Victor his daily damning for his treatment of her. She is terrified that Abe and/or Jack will discover the truth as Victor shows her the paper headline “Carver Says Arrests Near”. She reads the article and is furious, saying she will just confess. She picks up the phone and calls the station, but changes her mind. She asks Victor what they are going to do as he just stares at her. He tells her that it is all taken care of. She convinces Victor that Jack could be just as dangerous (or more so) than Abe and he says that maybe they should finish the job and get rid of Jack permanently. Later, she reminds him that he is an accessory and that if she goes down, so will he. He grabs her around the neck, calling her a bitch.
At the Deveraux House…
Jennifer wakes up to find Jack next to her in the bead with a bullet hole between his eyes. She screams…and of course, it was just a nightmare. He wakes up, telling him about it as he calms her down. She tells him that he is OFF this investigation, for she and Abby can’t survive without him. She plans on going to help Lexie and Hope with the Christening, but wants him to promise that he will stay home (and out of trouble) today. He concedes and they kiss. She gets a call from Lexie, telling her to meet them at the church and reminds Jack of his promise. After she leaves, he uncrosses his fingers, saying that is one promise he cannot keep.
At the Carver House…
Lexie is decorating for the party as Abe comes up behind her and startles her. As they are talking, he hears a noise outside and grabs his gun, frightening Lexie. He only finds a stray dog. To calm her down, he gives her a gift, a necklace with two hearts intertwined (with Lexie & Theo’s birthstones). Lexie begs him to retire immediately. He shows her the envelope with his retirement paperwork in it and tells her it will soon be over. Later, Lexie sees the newspaper and panics, adamant about postponing the Christening and them staying at home. She has a strange feeling and says (Reilly’s favorite phrase) that someone just walked over her grave. Abe finally calms her down and convinces her to carry on with their plans (as we see someone watching from outside). After Lexie and Theo leave, Sami barges in wanting to talk to Abe about helping her get Brandon back. He flatly refuses, calling her a liar and manipulator and saying that Brandon is better off without her. She begs, pleads and turns on the tears, then gets mad, saying that Lexie has turned him against her. Abe says that he just doesn’t know her anymore and cannot help, for this is what Brandon wants. She explodes, blaming him for turning Brandon against her and says that she should just kill him for this and wishes her were dead. A cop arrives with an envelope for Abe and he asks Sami to leave. After she storms out, he opens the envelope (background info on Victor) and can’t believe what he reads. (This is when he calls Kate.) Later, Kate arrives, asking what’s up. Abe tells her that he has come across info about her being arrested years ago and her involvement with Stefano as a call girl. He tells her that he feels that Roman should know about this, leaving Kate stunned.
Back at Salem Place…
Hope and Lexie wheel the boys in their strollers along on the way to the church. Lexie is still a bundle of nerves as Hope tries to convince her that all will be okay. Sami comes storming through as Lucas catches up with her and chides her about Abe refusing to help her. She makes a scene, making threats against Abe…saying that he deserves to die for this.
At the Church…
Celeste is there early, having flashbacks of her nightmare, praying that it doesn’t come to pass. Father Jansen asks if she is okay and she asks him if he believes in EVIL. He agrees that there is evil in the world, but prayer and goodness is the best weapon we have against it. She tells him that she feels powerless against it and that someone is gong to die today. He tells her to trust in God to protect them and that his will is in accordance with a greater plan. After he leaves, Celeste fears that there is an evil force at work her and that sometimes, despite all, evil does win. Later, Hope and Zack arrive as Celeste tells her about her nightmare and how it ends with her seeing Abe in the casket…just as Lexie walks up and overhears…as the previes roll…
On the Next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…
Kate is yelling at Abe “You expect me to tell Roman that Stefano sold me to men?” Abe says if you don’t tell him, I’m going to have to tell him myself...
Lucas asks Sami if she wants baby Theo to grow up fatherless as Sami vows to make Abe pay…
Rex tells Tony that no one wants to see Abe out of the way more than him…Tony says “I don’t know about that”…
Nicole holds up the paper in Victors’ face, and says that if Abe doesn’t find out she killed Colin, Jack Deveraux will. Brady walks up behind her and asks “What the HELL did you just say?”…
And the credits roll…

Director – Herb Stein
Summary: All the suspects have/get their guns today with vows to get rid of Abe (and some Jack)as Lexie panics at the church trying to reach Abe after hearing Celeste's prediction.
AT THE KIRIAKIS HOME Nicole continues pushing Victor to get rid of Abe and Jack as Brady overhear and asks what she said. Nicole tells him she wanted the police around the mansion eliminated as they’re annoying. Brady announces that he personally explored the area where Jack was hurt and shows the bullet (SPUDS screwed up again). He leaves, hoping they’ll tell him the truth sometime soon. Nicole’s freaking out as Brady’s a concern now. Victor promises Nicole that she’ll get exactly what she deserves. She vows to do something and needs a gun to do it. Brady returns and demands the truth. He knows someone in the house shot at Jack and it wasn’t Helga the cook or Henderson (saying although the butler always does it, LOL!). The shot could have come from Nico, Victor or Nicole though. Victor sluffs it off as a bullet from a previous attempt there, having been so many. Brady doesn’t buy it and threatens to take the bullet to the cops. Victor demands Brady give it to him. He finally does so and Nicole’s relieved “thank God”, confirms his guess…and he asks which of them tried to shoot Jack. Victor denies it and orders Nicole to go to her room. Victor privately asks Nico for his gun and leaves to do something alone. In the study, Nicole pulls out the gun in the drawer there, saying if Victor won’t take care of it, she will herself. Later, Brady asks Nico where Nicole and Victor are. He honestly tells them he doesn’t know.
AT SALEM PLACE, Bo warns Roman not to let Sami screw this up. Roman deserves some happiness. Roman goes in the jewelry store and asks to look at the round 2 carrot solitaire ring. A little sticker shock at the price, but his usual…what da hell, has the clerk wrap it up.
Sami continues to loudly threaten Abe to Lucas. Lucas calmly suggests Sami try to be happy without Brandon and reminding her that Abe has a baby. Not caring if Theo doesn’t have a dad, she storms off. Roman and Lucas run into each other and talk and both are worried. Roman shows Lucas the ring he got for Kate and worried about a full scale Sami blow out when she hears about it. Lucas calmly says he wants his mom happy and he is okay with it, but wants notice to head to a bomb shelter when Sami hears about it.
AT THE CARVER HOME, Abe threatens Kate to tell Roman herself about her call girl background. If she doesn’t, he will (oh paleez, like Abe would do that) as she pleads with him not to. He apologizes about having to do it and rushes her out as he has to get ready for the christening. She leaves, saying Abe will be very sorry if he makes her tell Roman about her past. We see Abe now in blue jeans and his flak vest as he calls to check on a family bible he ordered for the christening. He dons his zip up jacket and heads off to get it.
KATE RETURNS TO SALEM PLACE (why?) and sees Lucas (guess everyone just hangs at Salem Place nowadays) and they talk. Crying, she tells him about Abe’s threat to tell Roman about her past. She admits working with Stefano doing some bad things and Roman will never love her again after he hears. It won’t be Sami ruining her relationship with Roman, it’ll be Abe. She hates Abe and would like to kill him herself. Lucas suggests that Roman loves her and will forgive her. He tells her about seeing the ring and Roman’s going to propose. Kate cries her life is ruined and Lucas promises to do whatever he has to do to stop Abe from telling Roman about her past. After Lucas leaves, she promises not if she stops him first.
Rex bumps into Tony, who’s standing around reading the paper (yeah, right). Rex blames his pounding headache and Tony wants it checked out. Rex mentions the christening, but Tony said they won’t start w/o him and how the baby will be more then part Dimera soon. Bart rushes up, asking if Tony still wants the funeral wreath w/ Abe’s picture on it. Tony said yes. Later Abe runs into Tony and Rex chatting. Abe tells Tony he’s stuck with Tony as a BIL just like Tony’s stuck with Rex as a son, in spite of the trouble he might get into. He suggests they stop by his office after the christening and he’ll tell them what he means (so much for the party afterwards?). He tells Rex to bring his father and a lawyer and leaves. Tony promises to take care of the over jealous commander as Rex sees Tony wearing a gun. Bart starts to follow Tony and Rex asks if he’s “packing”. Bart tells him yes, it’s his job to protect the count. Rex insists he give him his gun as he thinks he’ll need it, so Bart does. Rex slips it into his front pants pocket.
Sami and Roman run into each other and she starts whining about Brandon. She tells him he has to go to the christening and he hugs her, telling her to accept it’s over and she can’t keep living in a dream (she sure got over Austin a lot faster then Brandon, didn’t she?) She pictures herself in a bridal gown and telling Will that all it took was getting rid of Abe to get Brandon to marry her again.
ABE’S walking and hears footstops. He draws his guns, swivels and tells whomever to freeze with gun raised. It’s Sami. She sort of apologizes and wants another chance, for him to call Brandon to come back to Salem. Abe refuses and brings out the huge bible he just bought and graphically shows Sami how he and Lexie will fill in the family’s names, but hers will not be in it..her marriage to Brandon was annulled. She tells him she hates him with every fiber of her being and he walks away, saying he can live with that. Sami replies…”wanta bet?”
AT THE CHURCH, a replay of Hope arriving with Zack and Celeste’s telling her of her vision of Abe in the casket. Lexie overhears and fortunately doesn’t drop Theo. Jennifer arrives and holds Theo in case Lexie faints. The women talk and Lexie admits being worried since Theo’s birth about something happening. The clock strikes eleven as Lexie worries about Abe getting there before noon. She calls his cell to tell him to get there before noon, but he doesn’t answer. She calls the house, but he runs in to change after the phone stops ringing. Lexie goes to call from another phone as she can’t get a good signal (where’s that “can you hear me now” guy when you need him?) Abe’s dressed in suit, tie and gun when the doorbell rings…he opens the door with gun drawn to find Bo there. He’s come to tell Abe that he and Hope are going to rejoin the force. Abe’s happy about that. Bo is happy Abe’s taking precautions and after giving him a manly hug and pat, says he’ll see him at the church. Privately Abe says he’s prepared for anything.
STILL AT SALEM PLACE, Sami sees a Salem Police officer taking off his gun belt and putting it in a lock box stand marked SALEM POLICE. He locks it with a hasp lock. After he leaves, Sami whaps the lock 3x with her high heel and it comes loose (LOL). She puts his gun in her purse. She tells herself that Abe Carvers crossed her for the last time.
TONY arrives at the church and Lexie asks what he’s got (feeling where the gun is). He tells her a surprise that she’ll know about soon enough. Rex arrives and Celeste tells him (she never met him) that he has a strange aura around him. Bo arrives (quick changer) saying he just saw Abe at their house and he should be there anytime. Tony and Rex both excuse themselves after hearing that. Bo goes inside and Hope is relieved he saw Abe and he’s okay. Bo’s puzzled what all this is about.
KATE walks at Salem Place and pictures Roman proposing on bended knee at the church. Abe walks in and tells Roman he’s proposing to a whore that worked for Stefano Dimera. Roman is mad and tells Kate she makes him sick and leaves with Abe as Kate calls for him to come back. Kate yells that she’ll kill Abe for this. Back to reality, a punk talks to her, asking if she’s the uptown chick that wanted to buy a gun. She says yes and puts the gun in her purse. Roman watches from nearby. Roman asks Kate who that was. She tells him someone looking for a handout and she gave him a couple dollars. Saying she’s a soft touch, he has something he wants to ask her. It’ll have to wait til tonight, after the christening and then he has to stop by the station to see Abe about something. She tells him she has something to do and will meet him later. She tells him she loves him and no matter what she has to do, she loves him. Tearing up, she says it’s because of ceremonies like weddings and christenings. She looks at the gun in her purse again and saying she’s sorry, has no other choice.
We see Lucas checking his own holster and gun. He says this baby will come in real handy today as he’s not going to let Abe Carver ruin his mother’s life.
At the end of the show, we see all the suspects vow to get Abe. Lexie goes into the bushes and calls Abe at home. It’s 11:55 a.m. and he tells her that he’ll be right there. She tells him it’s too late and to stay home. He can’t be outside when the church bells strike twelve. He promises to stay inside and will see her soon. She goes back inside the church telling the few that were there on time (Jen, Bo, Hope and Celeste) that everything’s ok. Jen wonders where Jack is (we see him rushing out of the house and locking the door.) Abe is looking at a picture of him with Lexie and Theo when he hears a noise outside. He peers through the curtains as the bells are ringing and the suspects faces (all individually in the bushes with their gun) flash rapidly on the screen as we hear a BANG and both Abe and Jack’s faces are the screen as the previews for tomorrow’s DOOL roll…
John arrives at the church and asks everyone why they’re so tense..
Caroline sees Rex stumble and knock something over…we see his gun on the floor
Kate sees Lucas is carrying a gun . She asks what he’s doing with it and he says “I think you know”…
Tony calls father saying what they had discussed has been taken care of…

Episode #9648
Tape date – 8/20/03
Director – Albert Alarr
Summary: It’s time for the Christening, but Abe is a no-show as everyone begins to get concerned…Brady knows there is something strange going on at the Kiriakis Mansion…Seven suspects look and act very guilty after Abe is shot…did one of them do it? With the exception of the actions at the Mansion and at Salem Place, this show is pretty much intertwined and chronological and takes place almost entirely at St. Lukes. So I will try and recount it in the same manner. There are lots of little conversations going on and I will try and remember the most of them as best as I can. Please forgive me if I omit things.
To start the show, there is an almost EXACT replay of the way that Friday’s show ends…with all the suspects either acquiring or holding or looking at their guns, making their threats against Abe…Roman tells Kate that he has something he wants to ask her later and after he heads to the church, she says to herself “You have left me no choice Abe”…There is an entire replay of Sami breaking in and stealing the gun…Lucas fingers his gun saying that there is no way he is going to let Abe Carver ruin his mother’s life…Brady is looking for both Nicole and Victor as Nico tells him he doesn’t know where they are…We then see both of them walking along with guns muttering about Abe…Tony looks at his gun as he reads the headline from the paper…Rex is stumbling along having one of his headaches.
At St. Luke’s…
Just before this, Lexie is on the phone with Abe asking him to stay at home a bit longer…at least until after 12. They say their ‘I love you’s” to each other and she heads into the church, telling everyone that all is okay. She breaks down as Celeste tries her best to comfort her. Jennifer continues to worry about Jack as well. As the bells chime, everyone else arrives (Belle, Shawn, John, Cassie, Roman, Caroline and Philip all arrive at once). John looks around and asks why is everyone so tense. As the bells continue to chime, Abe picks up the family picture, then heads out the door. At the same time, Jack is heading out his door and stops as he hears a bang off in the distance. Mimi rushes in apologizing for being late and wonders where Rex is. He stumbles into the vestibule, still having a headache and falls down as Caroline rushes in asking what is wrong. He explains that he just tripped and she goes for water. Jennifer explains to John what is going on as we see Tony on his cellphone to “father” telling him that it has all been taken care of . We then see a shot of Abe lying on his front lawn, with a pool of blood forming under his head as the bells continue to chime.
At Salem Place…
Sami runs into Lucas (literally) as he asks what is wrong with her. She brushes him off and hurries along as he puts his hand on his gun. Kate is also milling around, trying to calm herself down, saying what is done is done. A shaken Sami goes to the Java Café and orders coffee as the waitress notes that she doesn’t look as if she needs any. To herself she mutters “I had to do it” and that she must now get rid of the gun. Lucas spots Kate and asks her what is wrong and if she is still upset about Abe. He tells her that Abe is not a threat anymore. She cries and apologizes for being a mess. As they talk, Roman calls her, asking where she is. She tells him that she will be there shortly. He tells her that Abe isn’t there and asks if she has seen him. But she doesn’t answer and Roman thinks the call was dropped. She hangs up, crying as Lucas tells her it is all taken care of. She hugs him and feels the gun. She makes him open his jacket and asks why he has it. He says “I think you know.” Meanwhile, Sami makes her way back to the security locker to return the gun. She wipes it clean and replaces it, just as the security guard sees her and yells “What are you doing?”
At the Kiriakis Mansion…
Victor returns home and puts the gun away in a drawer, just as Brady walks in asking what he’s doing and tells him that he looks faint. Outside, Nicole is taking hit from her flask as she pulls out the gun and wipes it clean. She says that crime doesn’t pay, but sometimes a girl doesn’t have any choice. She apologizes to Brandon saying how ironic it is that his new-found father is the one who almost put the final nail in her coffin. Nicole comes in, heading straight for the liquor cabinet as Brady is talking about the Christening and the Carvers. She drops her drink, saying she can’t take it anymore. Brady asks why she is upset but Victor orders her upstairs, then proceeds to throw a glass of water in her face to calm her down. But she rushes outside instead. Brady goes to follow her and Victor warns him to stay out of it…if he knows what is good for him. Outside, Nicole says that she must get rid of the gun and reaches into her purse…just as a gloved hand reaches out from the bushes and clasps a hand over her mouth and yanks her in. Brady pays no heed to Victor and goes outside, finding a handkerchief on the ground. He sniffs it and realizes it’s Nicole’s.
Back at St. Luke’s
Jack walks into the vestibule (as Rex is hiding the gun in his pocket) and asks what he is up to and they argue, just as Jennifer gets a text message that Jack is on his way. Tony also arrives about this time. Father Jansen asks what the hold up is as Lexie explains that Abe should be there shortly. Jack joins Jennifer and tells her about hearing the noise as he was leaving and that it sounded like a gunshot. He also tells her that he thinks Rex was acting strange when he got there. She warns him to stay away from Rex. Outside, Mimi questions Rex as to where he was (as Belle and Shawn walk up and overhear). Shawn also wants to know. Rex lies and says that he was in the small chapel on the grounds, but Maggie says she was there and didn’t’ see him. He explains that he was lying down and she thinks that maybe she just didn’t see him. Lexie talks to Tony, who tells her not to worry and assures her that he will always see that she is safe. Lexie goes outside to call Abe again and as we see him lying there, his cell is ringing. John overhears Tony and Lexie, which leads them to argue over John’s distrust in Tony. Tony is offended and says that John is the murderer, reminding him that was how he was trained. Tony says that John was just a Pawn and that his job was to protect the king. John says at least now, the king is dead. The guests head back inside, except for Rex and Mimi. He says that St. Lukes freaks him out. Mimi talks to him about God and how peaceful she finds the gardens there. But Rex says that he and Cassie were not created by God…but by Dr. Rolf and Stefano in a lab. John tells Tony that if Stefano were alive, he would do everything he could to get control of little Theo, but he’d never get through Abe. Tony mutters not to count on that. Bo and Roman are getting more and more concerned about Abe not showing up and decide that maybe they need to go and look for him when Lexie gets back inside. Lexie tells Tony that she is terribly worried as we again see Abe lying on the lawn. He moves his fingers, then groans “Lexie”. Inside, John, Bo, Roman and Hope talk about how things aren’t right and John has a feeling that Tony is up to something. They all decide to go out and search for Abe. Mickey sits with Alice in the back of the church, wishing she could do something to help. Mickey tells her to pray, but she tells him that she feels it is too late for that. Tony tells Lexie that he will go and look for Abe himself and leaves. In the garden, he whips out his cell phone and calls “father”, telling him that everything went as planned (as John follows him and is listening). John steps out from behind a bush and yanks the phone away, saying “GOTCHA” and asks “who the hell do we have here?” Belle mentions something about marriage as Shawn explains that he has to finish school first. Then they sneak off to the bridal room to smooch as Mimi continues to talk to Rex about God. Rex says that if there were a God, he wouldn’t care about him…especially after what he has done. Celeste takes Zack and Isaac to the nursery to wait and tells Lexie to let her know when they are ready to start. Lexie goes back into the church and wonders where everyone is as Maggie explains that they went to search for Abe. Lexie breaks down, just wanting to see him walk through the door. In the nursery, Celeste rocks Theo, humming to him as she has a flash of her nightmare and seeing Abe in the casket. She screams “ABRAHAM!…NO!!!” as it cuts to one final shot of Abe lying on his front lawn and it fades to black and the previews roll….
On the next DAYS OF OUR LIVES…
Belle asks Shawn ‘Oh my God Shawn…are you proposing to me?”
Cassie (to Philip):”I knew it…I KNEW you had a plan to break up Belle and Shawn”…
Nicole is holding her gun (looks like she is pointing it at someone) saying “It’s time I took control of my own destiny”…
Jennifer (to Jack) “We’re partners in every way…remember? Now, let’s go together and find Abe”…
Tony (on his phone): “By the time John has a clue what has been done…it will never be UNdone…(as we see a shot of Abe lying there)…
And the credits roll…
