A MESSAGE FROM
Chief Wallace L. Kenney
This is Chief Wally Kenney welcoming you to the
Superior Police Department website. It is my goal, and that
of the men and women of the Superior Police department, to
assist you in any way we can. We here in Superior feel lucky
to be able to work in such a unique environment. We are
fortunate to have a small, friendly community in which to live -
while at the same time the convenience of the big city is but
a short drive away.
For those who have reached our site from other areas, Superior,
Arizona is located on U.S. Highway 60 at the base of the beautiful
Apache Leap Mountain and about a 30 minute drive east of the City of Mesa.
We enjoy a little cooler climate than in the Valley of the Sun, but without
the snow of Northern Arizona.
Traditionally, the Town of Superior has had a relatively low crime
rate with few of the problems that are associated with the larger cities.
The people here are friendly and accomodating.
The police department is rapidly growing and one of our primary goals
will be in the area of training. We are hoping to implement continual training
to ensure that our officers are able to meet the future demands of the
department.
We currently supply take-home cars for each of our officers and virtually all
equipment is issued by the department. Another of our goals is to upgrade much
of our equipment in the near future.
