The Book Group Chronicles is the electronic version of the monthly newsletter for a woman's book club in the Dixon, Illinois area. The group has been meeting monthly for nine years. Although the membership has changed over the years, the members share an abiding passion for reading. Even though reading ranks high in each person's list of many pleasures, this is a group of women who find even further satisfaction in sharing ideas, arguing perspectives, and analyzing character motivations. The meetings prove that reading can be anything but a passive pastime. Membership is closed at this time, but the Book Group welcomes the opportunity to exchange reading lists and ideas with other clubs and individuals.
The newsletter Book Group Chronicles features a critique of the current book selection, reviews of other books members are currently reading, general book industry news, recipes of treats served at meetings and the Group's archives of nine years of reading pleasure.
